The Loud Ark: Chapter 16 - Life on the Ark
It rained and rained and rained as raindrops continued pouring from the clouds of the heavens above for 40 days and 40 nights as the waves crashed in. All the people who have sinned alongside being cruel, wicked, and evil drowned in the flood along with every living thing that walks and breathes air have been washed away. The whole earth was covered with water, and even the highest mountains were covered. Only the Loud Ark carries all life on this earth and remains floating above the waters.
Lincoln, Sid, Ronnie Anne, and Clyde look out from the window of the Ark looking completely bored.
"It's still pouring out there!" sighed Sid.
"We know Sid it's been raining for the last 20 days or so," Ronnie Anne added.
"And three weeks too, we're on this ark stuck with each other, friends, family, the village-" replied Clyde only to be interrupted by a ringed tail swishing in front of his face which belonged to one of the Ring-tailed Lemurs surprising the kids. "And all these Animals!"
The four kids have noticed the animals gathering around them looking out the window too, including the Masai Ostriches, Angolan Giraffe, Nigerian Pygmy Goats, Giant Pandas, Llamas, Panamanian White-headed Capuchins, and African Forest Elephants.
Tinkerbell drew a chalk line on the wall marking a tally of how long they have been on the ark as she says, "Aslan did say it would rain 40 days and 40 nights well, that's only part of it."
"After the rain, the water would recede, we'll just have to wait," Lincoln replied.
"Then that means, there's only 20 more days left?" asked Sid.
"Of rain," Ronnie Anne Answered back. As they close the window.
Inside the Ark was full of activity with the people and the animals on board. The sounds of animals were heard, the trumpets of elephants, the roars of lions, tigers, and bears, braying zebras and donkeys, squawking parrots and toucans, the cackling laugh of hyenas, howling wolves, hissing of snakes and crocodiles, the hoots and hollers of apes and monkeys, and the croaking of frogs.
Lynn Sr. was sealing another leak with a pitch on the wall. Lynn Jr and Liam were dumping the dung and droppings out the window. Leni had a ladder with a stick of leaves balancing herself while feeding the giraffes. Lincoln, his family, friends, and the community Tended to each of the animals according to their needs.
Sam and Lana were feeding the pigeons, peafowls, and chickens while collecting the eggs. Lincoln was milking one of the cows as they were being fed by Lori while Sid and Adelaide fed the goats and sheep.
In the bottom deck, CJ and Carlota were feeding the Elephants and Mammoths as they picked up the leaves and hays with their trunks from the children.
"Alright, open wide!" said Zach as he and Rusty were feeding the hippos and rhinos who opened their wide mouths.
Stella was feeding the rabbits including her Rabbits, Snazzy and Jazzy while Ronnie Anne was feeding the birds including Sergio and Walt as a few of them perched on her.
Lana, Lucy, Fawn, and Tink were tending to the invertebrates including the insects, snails, slugs, worms, centipedes, millipedes, woodlouses, and arachnids even helping Carlos, Leni, and Lynn Sr. control their fear with the creepy crawlies
Rosetta, Vidia, Luna, Bobby, and Lola tended to each of the reptiles even though the Crocodiles and Alligators tried to make a snap at the fairies but they did not mind.
In the storeroom, Tinkerbell, Rita, and Rosa checked to see if they had enough food and water and were pleased that they still had enough. As they and the others feed the rest of the large animals
Lily, Carlitos, Tinkerbell, and Silvermist took extreme care not to get stepped on by the elephants, lions rhinos, and the other large animals.
The Ark was a peaceful place. There was no devouring one another as there were only about two of each. Every Creature lived in harmony with the people during this time.
Lincoln, Lori, and the others were feeding the predators lions, tigers, hyenas, bears, and wolves while Lisa, Carl, and Carlota fed the monkeys, lemurs, and apes.
And each of the animals responded in the hoots, growls, trumpets, snorts, grunts, squawks, chirps, squeaks, hollers, screeches, bellows, warbles, roars, cackles, hums, brays, neighs which were their language
The entire community helped take care of the animals and each other as for the people they played games and music to amuse themselves and cooked food for one another as the days came and gone.
