Chapter Twelve

Meanwhile…

Room 310…

Megan was relieved that Dinah was ready to talk, which makes the interview slightly easier, though she was still on edge with Don being missing, on top of everything else that she has been dealing with.

Dinah just looked exhausted, almost like she saw a ghost, and Megan wasn't sure if she was seeing things, had a hint of guilt in her eyes.

For what, she had no clue.

"Dinah." Megan began gently as she carefully put her hand on Dinah's arm.

"Yes?." The woman asked, still looking distracted

"We were hoping that we could ask you some questions about the attack at your home, if you are still okay with it?"

"Yes, I am and I'm sorry about what happened to your men." Dinah said, still not looking at either agent.

David was concerned now, as he knew that they were short on time and he wasn't sure as to how helpful Dinah would be.

"Do you know why those men were in your house?" He asked

"They said that they were looking for something but they didn't say why, even when I tried to ask them about what it was they were trying to find." Dinah answered

"Did they tell you not to answer the door or anything like that?" Megan asked, as she tried to form a picture of the intruders.

"No, only to not call anyone at all, which didn't matter as my phone broke yesterday and I no longer have a landline." Dinah said

"How long were they in your house before Agents Eppes and Granger knocked on your door?" Megan asked

"I…I'm not sure, maybe almost an hour before they came, or at least that's how it felt like to me." Dinah answered

"Alright, are you able to describe the men to a sketch artist?" Megan gently pushed, unsure of what to make of all this.

"I'm willing to try." Dinah agreed though she still looked on edge

"Any detail will be helpful." Megan said, trying to both reassure Dinah and herself that it was all going to be okay.

She just needed to focus.

"David…"

"Already on it." David said as he took out his phone.

Megan made a small smile, maybe there was hope that they were beginning to get back to normalcy after all.
