I want to say thank you to everyone who liked this story. I was worried it wouldn't be as well received, but I'm happy that you all enjoyed it. In fact, there was something I meant to add in Chapter 1, but it would have been out of place, so instead, I'm making this story a two shot with the idea I had in mind. Enjoy. :)
Chapter 2
Ozzy stirred and opened his eyes, gazing around the room before seeing Fizz was still sound asleep on him. The larger being was surprised because the jester was usually one to wake first, but then Ozzy noticed the time and that the alarm clock hadn't gone off yet. He had another few minutes before that happened.
Of course, he had learned that with Fizz waking up with the alarm clock, the jester would do some silly prank to wake him up, since he was usually still asleep. He smiled as he then got a sneaky idea and laid his head back down on the pillow, closing his eyes and pretending to be asleep. It was absolutely quiet in the bedroom, but Ozzy had no doubt the servants were all busy in the mansion and the workers for the factory were no doubt getting started on their work day.
Just then, the alarm rang and like clockwork, Fizz was up and awake, not seeing that the larger being was awake. The jester got himself ready to wake up Ozzy, pulling a megaphone out from under the nearby chair.
Just as he turned it on and took a deep breath, Ozzy opened his eyes and sat up fast, catching Fizz in a hug and making the jester squeak in surprise. "Got you, Froggie," the larger being chuckled.
Fizz blinked in shock before opening his mouth to greet the larger being, but Ozzy sneakily snuck one hand to his favorite jester's side and began tickling his sides and ribs.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OZZHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!" Fizz laughed out, quickly trying to scramble away from the mischievous being, but gentle fingers began winding around the end of his tail, making him weak in the knees and stumble, which allowed the larger being to catch him. "Hey!"
"Come here, you," Ozzy said playfully as he placed Fizz beside him and then began blowing raspberries into the jester's ticklish stomach.
"EEEEEEEEEEEE!" Fizz squealed, trying to get free again, but Ozzy held him in a secure, yet gentle, hug.
"I've got you, Froggie," the larger being cooed teasingly before blowing a big raspberry right over Fizz's belly button, making him squeal again. "Ah, that laughter is wonderful to wake up to."
The jester was laughing as Ozzy kept up the tickle torture for a bit longer, his fingers tickling over each of the smaller being's ribs before he let him up, making his favorite jester flop back on the bed as he took some deep breaths.
"How long were you awake?" Fizz asked after a moment.
"A few minutes before the alarm," the larger being said honestly. "I'm usually not one to wake up before you, Fizz."
The jester chuckled. "Well, guess I'll have to do the megahorn another time," he said.
Ozzy chuckled. "You and your pranks in the morning," he said, giving Fizz's stomach a quick tickle, making him curl up and laugh. "Well, we best get up for the day."
Fizz stretched and got up, going to retrieve the schedule paper he had made last night so that he could remind Ozzy what he had going on for the day. As he grabbed it, he turned to the larger being and was about to speak when he noticed something odd.
His schedule paper was blank.
Confused, he looked at the rest of the paper that trailed behind him, but it was all blank. "Okay, I know I was a bit tired from working last night, but I know I had everything written on here," he said, more to himself than Ozzy.
"What's wrong, Fizzy?" The larger being asked, smiling.
"Well...I know I had your schedule written down and I remember putting it over here before going to sleep," the jester said. "But the paper is now blank. I'm sure I would have remembered if I accidentally mixed up papers."
He thought back and remembered that he had indeed had the right paper last night and he knew the servants wouldn't dare to touch his schedule paper for Ozzy. Anyone who worked for the larger being knew he took meetings and other important things very seriously and was never late.
Fizz looked up at Ozzy, who was smiling. "Don't worry, Froggie," he said. "I cleared the schedule for both of us."
The jester blinked in surprise. "What?" He asked, stunned before going over in his mind what he had written down. Suddenly, he paused before looking up at the larger being. "Mammon tried to sneak in an appointment for today and succeeded," he said, a smile threatening to overtake his face.
"Yes, he did," Ozzy said, smiling as he saw his favorite jester catching on what he had planned.
"So...when you cleared the schedule...," Fizz trailed off.
"Mammon no longer has an appointment," the larger being finished, looking smug.
Fizz's jaw dropped in surprise before he began giggling. "That's going to really tick off Mammon," he said.
"I don't care," Ozzy said, a firm note in his voice. "He's not welcome here and I'm not going to host him."
The jester looked up with a smile. "Are those the only reasons you cancelled his appointment?" He asked.
The larger being chuckled. "No, but they are high on the list as to why," he said. "The main reason is because I know he wants to negotiate you working for him again, but I'm not giving him that chance."
Fizz smiled and jumped towards Ozzy, who caught him and smiled as he nuzzled the smaller being's forehead with his own. "I promised you'd never have to deal with Mammon again, Froggie, and I'm keeping my word," he said.
"I know," the jester said. "Thanks, Ozzy."
"You're welcome, Fizzy," he said. "Now, I'm craving French Toast for breakfast."
Fizz perked up at that and the two headed for the kitchen. To their surprise, one of the servants brought in some bags from one of the best restaurants and set them on the table. "Where did this all come from?" Ozzy asked the servant, who handed him a note.
Fizz looked at the note from Ozzy's shoulder and smiled. "It's from Bee," he said.
The larger being smiled before opening the bags to see it was French Toast, pancakes, and all sorts of breakfast stuff. "Wow, she went all out," he said.
His phone rang and he answered it to find Bee on the other side. "I hope you guys enjoy breakfast," she said.
"Thank you, Bee, but what's this all for?" Ozzy asked.
She chuckled. "You think I didn't hear about Mammon trying to get an appointment with you despite what happened at the pageant?" She asked teasingly.
"Oh," he said.
She laughed in amusement. "But seriously, I was in the area and I saw him yelling at one of your factories that he would make an appointment. But I knew as soon as you realized he had, you would do something to make it to where you couldn't make the appointment."
"You know me too well, Bee," Ozzy said, smiling. "Thank you."
Fizz smiled and leaned close. "Thanks, Bee," he said.
"You're both welcome," she said. "Hope you don't mind, but I also have lunch and dinner orders put in and ready for your place later on today."
"You're spoiling us," Ozzy said, but he was grateful for her generosity.
"I figured it was one of the best ways to help you guys have a relaxing day off work," she said sincerely. "Take care, you two."
The larger being signed off the call. "Next party of hers we go to, we'll bring her a nice gift," he said.
"Sounds good," Fizz said as the two of them ate and got ready to spend a relaxing day and a three-day weekend around the mansion.
Elsewhere, Mammon was furious as he dialed a number.
"Sorry, there are no appointments with your name on them for today, nor are there any available," the servant for Ozzy said on the other end of the phone. "There are none available for at least a year, from what I can see."
"A year?!" The greedy being yelled before hanging up the phone, fuming to himself.
I just had to. :)
