Spirit wanted to be angry. He wanted to tell Stein that it was none of his business what he did with any girls. But he knew that couldn't really be what was bothering his young friend. "Stein. It's okay, I promise you. They're okay with it. There's nothing wrong with any of it..." Stein tensed further, and Spirit frowned quizzically. "Why do you care, anyway?"

"Stein!" Spirit cried in protest, his voice rising in pitch. "Don't breathe." Spirit blinked, the harsh but monotone directive confusing his train of thought. "What?" he asked, but held his breath nonetheless. "They melt too fast if you breathe."

In which Maka and Soul succeed in making Soul into a Death Scythe on their first try, but the road ahead of them is still full of challenges.

Stein slowly stepped out from behind Lord Death to find the source of the stammering voice, and it stopped abruptly as the boy laid eyes on him. And likewise, almost immediately, the sight before him stole his breath away. "Ah, well. I suppose there's no time like the present. Spirit, this is your new partner, Franken Stein."

"I'm sorry." "...What?" The words had fallen thoughtlessly from Spirit's lips, and despite how he was holding back he could feel the tension in Stein's soul rise in response. It wasn't enough. He wasn't sure anything could ever be enough to mend their years of separation; of silence, misunderstandings, and rejection that was ultimately unfounded.

Soul bit the inside of his cheek. Despite having faced and ultimately helping Maka win against the kishin, there was still madness in the world, and he couldn't forget his duty just because they'd been victorious once. His own problems were nothing in comparison to his responsibilities. "She doesn't love you because you're close to becoming a death weapon, you know." "...What?"

It was probably a futile effort to begin with. There wasn't any type of psychology Stein could use to make his weapon understand his desire without giving away too much, and he was certain beyond a doubt that Spirit Albarn had never entertained the idea of kissing a boy. But Stein's thoughts slowed at the nervous resignation on his weapon's face. "You want to try it, don't you."

For Aimi, her only reason for joining the DWMA was to earn money and support her partner and herself. Though she would admit competing against her fellow Meisters to make the next Death Scythe was pretty entertaining. Sure, they were risking their lives every day, but their commissions were never on the extremely dangerous side. Or at least, that's what she first believed.

The eighteen-year-old new father had described every one of the newborn's features at least twice and proclaimed it perfect, and Stein simply took in this new and unique behavior from his former partner of five years. It was also an acceptable distraction for the moment over the fact that with this birth, any hope he had of reclaiming his weapon partner was well and truly lost.

As the title says, a collection of short stories I thought up regarding Chrona and Maka's relationship, both platonically and romantically (though mostly the latter).

A chaste kiss on his cheek, an innocent hand on the small of her back, then it slowly became a game of chicken to see which one of them would finally lead the other away from the party.

Eve and her twin brothers join the DWMA with the hopes of capturing 99 souls and a witch's soul in order for the twins to become Death Scythes, as per her father's wish. The three develop friendships with various EAT students along the road (with some romance being added to it)

It's been a year since Maka defeated the Kishin. A year since Chrona had nearly died for her. A year since she'd confessed. A year since he'd rejected her. But so much more remains unspoken and as the anniversary draws near, all of the uncertainty and confusion finally comes to the surface.

Maka loved her mother. And she made it clear each time her father tried to see her that there was no room left for him in her heart. It was in Spirit's nature to hold on to hope, but the hard truth was that since the divorce...he had been well and truly alone. Except for the bottle, of course.

He remembered the blow. He remembered pain along the whole of his blade, shudders jarring the steel all the way to the end of the handle in his meister's grasp. He remembered being released as his soul cried out in agony, falling and spinning haphazardly. And he remembered a feral scream, feeling the crackle of electricity in the air before everything went dark.
