So...For this chapter I'm borrowing from the game Psychonaughts 2 with the song for this chapter (I explicitly have this song be one the singer Peter Dewclaw learned from someone else instead of being his own composition as he's more of an 80s Rock guy than acid rock) As this story shares a lot of themes of being haunted by past mistakes no matter how hard you try to bury them.
After a few more weeks of this...It was now August...And Marzipan was getting desperate to do something to get Ichabod out of his funk! She enlisted the help of his Herd Siblings of the Fellowship Crew and searched among the newly freed Mizzer Humanimals...They found a young scruffy brown Mongrel Dog-Man with the voice of an angel singing karaoke named Peter Dewclaw, they talked with him and his girlfriend a Chihuahua-Girl named Bree and asked them if they would like to be part of a bigger show...Bill and some of the other Fellowship Humanimals sometimes played in a band Bill had named 'The Beastie Boys' (He had no idea there was an ancient Earth band called the same thing, he just thought it a fitting name for a band of Humanimals) They had started this band back when they were all cubs living of the Humanimal Farm...Ichabod was recruited to replace the keyboardist since the Cub who had previously filled that position a Colt named Roy was did not manage to escape the Farm before it was converted to a fur factory…
Bill is particular saw something of himself in Peter and wanted to promote the Young Dog-Man to help him become more well known.
They told the Turtles about the upcoming concert and asked the Turtles to invite the students of Leo's Martial Arts School…
"Oh man…" Mikey told the students both Beginner and Advanced "...I wish you all were there when we had Donny and Bell-Bell's engagement party in the Battle Nexus! You'll see Humanimals throw the best parties and it's all because of their magic music! There's something about it...It just really gets inside you makes you feel like them! They can dance on tables and not mess anything up!"
When Ichabod's Herd Brothers came for him to tell him about the concert...Ichabod was looking quite messy and was about to say something about how he didn't feel like it.
But his closest Humanimal friend Bill just said "C'mon…" And the Bull-Boy got on all fours and gently nudged Ichabod to the bathroom "Get yourself cleaned up cuz you're needed to play keyboard!"
The concert was held in Third Earth's Central Park to debut Peter Dewclaw and celebrate the Rescue of the Mizzer Humanimals from Viola Strierra…
Backstage as they were getting ready...Peter quietly turned away for a minute, he couldn't believe that his dream of being a music star was finally coming true after years of being a slave!
"It feels so strange…" Peter quietly said "...Finally being free…"
Marzipan put her arm around his shoulders, as a Fellow Mizzer Humanimal, she understood completely how he felt how hard it was to get back to a feeling of normalcy "Hey…" She said softly "...It's gonna make for a better Rockumentery someday…" She said speaking his language.
Peter looked at the Cat-Girl as she gave her best 'Cheshire Cat Grin' and that instantly made him feel better knowing she was a kindred spirit!
The song Peter had prepared was a song that a Mizzer human had taught him during the long captivity on Viola Strierra, where Peter was part of the secret Mizzer Underground, singing songs to keep the Mizzerans' spirits up during those trying times "It's not my usual style" Peter had told them "I'm more of an 80s rock guy instead of acid rock...But to honor his memory…"
So for an audience of mostly Mutants and Third Earth humans...Though there were also a few Humanimals who were fans of the Beastie Boys from previous concerts…
The music started off low and slow as Peter got on stage and sang
"Lost...Alone...Neither skin not bone...Just a thought is all I got...But now my cover's blown…"
The music began to speed up as Peter sang "...At the bottom of a pit...Of frozen feeling...When my friends pulled me back up...I started…"
And as the music rose to a fever pitch, even Ichabod couldn't help but smile getting back into to the groove of playing music again
"HEALING!" Peter howled, his canine voice strengthening his human voice "HEALING!"
"Now I can feel out the galaxy!
And hear the flow of time!
Been so tense
But now I sense
A reason to this rhyme!"
The Turtles along with their students were happily jumping up and down to the music, quite a few in the crown were holding up cigarette lighters
"Oh I can smell the universe!
And I can taste the sky…
And I can see each molecule
Through my cosmic eye…"
During this time Marzipan he had been using her magic to float, thus being something of a 'flying back-up dancer' on the stage lifted Peter up to her level for this magic moment as he sang
"Sense are the magic keys…" Peter sang talking about the thing animals and humans had in common and why most felt that machines would never be people "They've filled the holes I had…"
None of them had any idea what was lurking behind them
"Unlocking all my memories...Which are never...Ever...BAD!"
"OH NO?"
The music stopped as everyone on strange suddenly felt like fingers made of ice were suddenly wrapping around their throats!
Leaving what happens with 'The Ghost' for next chapter but I realized when writing this chapter having it take place in the Turtles' world was the best place for this 'shameful secret' to be revealed
