Chapter 52 The Green Sunset
Hello everyone, this chapter will continue Ash's training for the league and have him meet another trainer from Alola, I hope you all enjoy.
The chapter begins back on Mt. Silver with the conclusion of Red and Mewtwo's battle. We look at the mountain and see most of the snow has melted. There's also blue fire still burning but eventually goes out. Next, we close in on the battle and see an explosion. We see the two-mons skid away from each other, Mewtwo has scratches all over his body and is on one knee panting heavily, Mewtwo looks at Charizard who also has some injuries and is panting too Red then speaks.
"Okay Charizard I think that's enough for now" Red says with Charizard nodding it reverts back to its normal form as Mewtwo speaks.
"You're stopping the fight?" Mewtwo asks as Red speaks.
"Yeah, there's no point in continuing I've seen your strength and Charizard felt satisfied don't you feel satisfied too?" Red asks as Mewtwo speaks.
"Yes, I am" Mewtwo responds with Red nodding Red then walks over to Mewtwo spraying him with a Full Restore and does the same to Charizard healing their wounds Mewtwo looks at Red and speaks.
"I think Giovanni underestimated you, you're much stronger than me had you had fought seriously when we first met, I would've lost" Mewtwo responds as Red speaks.
"I'm not sure about that the only reason why we did better today is because after our first encounter with you we came up with strategies to counter you. So, even if I had Charizard fight you at full power back then I'm not sure if we would've won" Red responds with Charizard agreeing as Mewtwo nods.
5 minutes later after relaxing for a bit Mewtwo feels as though it's time to leave as Red speaks.
"Hey Mewtwo when you're exploring the world, I hope you see just how beautiful this place is and let's battle again one day" Red says smiling with Mewtwo nodding Mewtwo then disappears heading somewhere Red looks at Charizard and speaks.
"Man, it's been a while since we fought that seriously hasn't it Charizard?" Red asks with the fire lizard nodding as Red speaks.
"But now after facing Mewtwo it makes me more worried for that presence that killed Giovanni even though we battled Mewtwo if we fought that presence today, I'm not sure if we could defeat it" Red says with Charizard agreeing Red then speaks.
"Okay Charizard let's continue to train so if we ever have to go against that presence, we'll be ready" Red says with Charizard nodding Red then brings out all of his Pokemon as they all begin to train with each other.
5 days later we come back to the gang after making it home Ash sees that all of his Pokemon feel refreshed, and they continue their training for the league. After their encounter with Mewtwo and the clones Ash's Pokemon have become a lot more motivated than they already were before, especially Charizard. Charizard after battling Zard2 felt that it wasn't strong enough, so it trains with the other fire types improving itself so that when it battles Zard2 or Zippo again it'll be ready. Gyarados is also becoming much better at flying and can now stay in the air for an entire hour. Venusaur and Wartortle continue to train against Ash's grass and water types. Riolu and Froakie have gotten more motivated too as they train with the fighting types and Dratini continues to train with Ash's dragon types. After not being able to stop its friends from fighting the clones Dratini's taking its training more seriously than before and is now growing stronger in a faster rate keeping up with the other dragon types surprising them. Misty and Brock's Pokemon got motivated too and are currently helping Ash's Pokemon train.
In Oak's ranch Ash along with Misty and Brock are currently watching their Pokemon train with each other (except for Togepi and Shieldon). We zoom in on Charizard training with the fire types we see Charcadet going to kick Charizard but the fire lizard dodges. Charizard notices Crocalor going to bite its tail with Crunch, Charizard quickly uses Dragon Tail and knocks the fire croc away. Arcanine then rams into Charizard using a new move it learned called Raging Fury. Arcanine tries to push Charizard back, but the fire lizard stands its ground not letting Arcanine push it, Charizard then notices Blaze going to hit it from behind using Raging Bull. Charizard quickly flies in the air dodging the move and lets Blaze crash into Arcanine instead causing them to fall on the ground.
As Charizard is in the air suddenly Torracat appears using Flame Charge and hits Charizard in the stomach. Charizard coughs in pain as Torracat begins to push Charizard towards the ground. As they fall Charizard looks behind and sees Pyroar fire an Overheat, Charizard quickly moves out of the way and lets Torracat get hit instead blowing the fire cat away. Charizard then covers its fist with Fire it flies at Pyroar with Pyroar running forward heating up its mouth. The two mons collide using Fire Punch and Fire Fang respectively causing an explosion making both mons skid back. When they do Charizard sees Charcadet, Crocalor and Brock's Vulpix the 3 mons launch a Fire Spin trapping Charizard inside. As Charizard is about to break out suddenly Arcanine, Blaze and Torracat appear using Raging Fury, Raging Bull and Flame Charge respectively. Charizard quickly brings up its arms to block the 3 attacks the 3 mons then send Charizard flying making it crash into a nearby tree. Charizard then lets out a mighty roar it begins to heat up its mouth along with the other fire types as they all launch a Flamethrower which collide creating an explosion.
Next, we come to Riolu and Froakie who're training with Primeape, Hawlucha, Farfetch'd, Darumaka, Grovyle and Thwackey. Riolu and Froakie both fire an Aura Sphere and Water Pulse respectively at Hawlucha and Farfetch'd who easily dodge. Hawlucha goes to hit Froakie with Brick Break while Farfetch'd goes to hit Riolu with Night Slash. Riolu and Froakie quickly jump in the air dodging the attacks when they're about to fire a Vacuum Wave and Bubblebeam Primeape appears behind them and kicks them both back down. Riolu and Froakie crash on the ground they both groan in pain they then see Primeape fall towards them going to hit them with Close Combat but then Thwackey kicks Primeape away with Mega Kick. Primeape lands back on the ground and so does Thwackey the two mons look at each other then charge, Primeape and Thwackey collide getting into a grapple as they begin to try and push each other back Grovyle appears. Grovyle fires a Bullet Seed at them causing both mons to quickly back away from each other to dodge the Bullet seed.
When that happens Farfetch'd appears as it goes to hit Grovyle with Brick Break Grovyle quickly uses Leaf Blade on its right arm to block. The two mons collide Farfetch'd tries to push Grovyle down with its leek but the grass gecko stands strong it then uses Leaf Blade on its left arm and goes to strike Farfetch'd but the duck uses Detect and quickly backs away. Farfetch'd lands back on the ground as it along with Grovyle are about to continue their battle Darumaka fires a big Blizzard heading toward the two mons. Grovyle and Farfetch'd quickly jump out of the way dodging the attack. When they do Riolu fires an Aura Sphere it cuts through the Blizzard going to hit Darumaka but the Zen Pokemon quickly heats up its fist and punches the Aura Sphere back. Riolu then knocks the Aura Sphere away when she does, she sees Hawlucha in front of it going to hit it with High Jump Kick. Riolu quickly brings up its arms and successfully blocks the kick. Riolu continues to block while Hawlucha tries to break through Riolu's defense, when Hawlucha's about to break through Froakie appears hitting Hawlucha in the side with Aerial Ace. Hawlucha is then sent away with Riolu thanking Froakie with the blue frog nodding but then Froakie gets punched in the face by Darumaka and lands on the ground a few feet away. Riolu quickly jumps forward and punches Darumaka away with Power Up Punch. Then Primeape appears it goes to punch Riolu with Rock Smash, but the Aura puppy quickly brings up its arms blocking the attack. Riolu is then sent flying as Thwackey appears and punches Primeape in the face with Drain Punch knocking it away. Grovyle jumps towards Thwackey using Leaf Blade, Thwackey sees Grovyle coming it quickly grabs both of its sticks and turns them into green hammers using Wood Hammer. Thwackey jumps forward and collides with Grovyle's Leaf Blade the two mons begin to push each other back and forth seeing who's stronger they then hear a voice.
"FAR!" Farfetch'd's voice echoes the two grass types look up and see Farfetch'd falling towards them spinning and glowing red. The 2 grass types quickly back away as Farfetch'd slams its leek hard on the ground using Superpower creating a small crater, causing the ground to shake and sending out a shockwave blowing away some of Ash's other Pokemon as Misty speaks.
"Farfetch'd's attack power has certainly improved that break from training really helped" Misty says with Ash and Brock nodding. They continue to watch the Pokemon train as we see Golisopod training with Sandslash, Krookodile, Scyther, Heracross and Bisharp. The 6 mons collide then skid away from each other they then charge forward using Liquidation, Slash, Night Slash Strength, Dragon Claw and Megahorn respectively and collide again as we now pan over to the sky. Flying in the sky are Pidgeot, Noivern, Flygon, Corviknight, Noctowl, Gabite, Raichu, Gengar and Brock's Golbat. They're flying at an incredible speed having a flying race while also avoiding Gyarados's, Kingler's, Onix's, Dewgong's, Vaporeon's, Muk's, Luxio's and Pikachu's attacks. We now come to the group of Rockruff, Ninetales, Brock's Midday Lycanroc, Glalie and Rowlet. Rockruff fires a Stone Edge at Ninetales but the ice fox covers her 9 tails in steel energy and easily destroys the Stone Edge. Rockruff then jumps towards Ninetales going to bite it with Crunch, but Ninetales quickly jumps out of the way as Rowlet appears. Rowlet uses Seed Bomb the large seed hits Rockruff and knocks it away making it hit the ground, as Rowlet goes to attack Rockruff again it sees an ice beam heading towards it. Rowlet quickly dodges the move and sees that Glalie was the one who fired it. Glalie then flies forward going to attack Rowlet but Brock's Lycanrock blindsides it with Accelrock making Glalie crash into a nearby tree. When Lycanroc lands on the ground it sees a Moonblast heading towards it and dodges. Lycanroc then looks at Ninetales and growls at her with Ninetales growling back the two mons then roar.
"Nine!" "Ly!" The two mons roar they charge forward using Accelrock and Zen Headbutt respectively and collide creating an explosion. They both skid back from each other Ninetales then fires a Moonblast at Lycanroc, Lycanroc then counters with Drill Run it pierces through the Moonblast and hits Ninetales in the face. Ninetales quickly recovers, she quickly wraps her 9 tails around Lycanroc and fires an Ice Beam in Lycanroc's face. Lycanroc groans in pain then roars as it summons a Stone Edge from under Ninetales hitting the Ice fox in the stomach. Ninetales coughs in pain and is flung away making her let go of Lycanroc. Ninetales then lands back on the ground she looks at Lycanroc with Lycanroc looking at her the two continue to growl at each other they then charge forward and collide continuing their battle.
We now see Rockruff the little puppy is groaning in pain that Seed Bomb from Rowlet did a lot of damage to it. Rockruff looks up it sees Ninetales and Lycanroc battling each other, Rockruff then looks over at Arcanine battling Charizard and Riolu battling the other fighting types. Rockruff is amazed that they can still fight, the rock puppy wants to continue fighting too and grow stronger. Rockruff struggles to stand up until it eventually does the puppy lets out a loud howl and launches a large Stone Edge at Ninetales and Lycanroc. The two canines notice the Stone Edge and quickly dodge the sharp rock. The Stone Edge keeps going until it hits Rowlet knocking it out of the air making it land on the ground groaning in pain as Ash speaks.
"Whoa Rockruff's Stone Edge has gotten stronger!" Ash says happily Rockruff then dashes forward Ninetales and Lycanroc get ready to battle they stare at Rockruff. As they wait for Rockruff to attack them the rock puppy runs pass them they then see Rockruff jump towards Rowlet and begins to viciously bite on its wing causing Rowlet to scream.
"ROWWWWWW!" Rowlet screams out in pain this alerts Ash, Misty, Brock and their Pokemon as they all quickly stop training and run/fly over to stop Rockruff as Misty speaks.
"What's gotten into Rockruff?!" Misty questions as Ash speaks.
"I'm not sure come on let's hurry!" Ash says as he along with Misty and Brock continue to run forward. As Rockruff continues to bite down on Rowlet's wing Ninetales then knocks the rock puppy away with Quick Attack making Rockruff skid back. Rockruff stops itself, it looks forward and sees Ninetales growling at it while standing protectively over Rowlet with Lycanroc and Clefable checking on the Owl's wounds. Rockruff then sees that it's surrounded by Ash's, Misty's and Brock's Pokemon they all glare at Rockruff with the rock puppy glaring and growling at them. Rockruff then lets out a loud bark and fires multiple Stone Edges which go everywhere. The groups Pokemon are able to knock away the Stone Edge they then see that Rockruff is gone they turn and see Rockruff going to attack Rowlet again. The rock puppy jumps forward going to bite on the Owl as Lycanroc, Ninetales and Clefable stand protectively over it they're about to attack Rockruff but Ash is quicker as he yells.
"ROCKRUFF STOP!" Ash yells as he quickly grabs the rock puppy and begins to hold onto him tightly. Rockruff begins to thrash about trying to get out of Ash's hold as Ash speaks.
"Rockruff calm down!" Ash yells but Rockruff continues to thrash about until it bites down hard on Ash's arm causing him to yell out in pain. This shocks everyone as Ash's grip on Rockruff then loosens allowing the rock puppy to get out of the hold. Rockruff lands back on the ground Ash's other Pokemon then get into battle stances and glare at Rockruff as Ash speaks.
"Guys wait!" Ash says but his Pokemon continue to look at Rockruff waiting for it to attack. Rockruff continues to growl until it sees Ash holding his arm and Rowlet groaning in pain. Rockruff then realizes what it's done, he stops growling then gets a sad look on his face as he speaks.
"Arf, arf" Rockruff says sorry this causes the other Pokemon to stop growling at Rockruff as they see that it has calmed down Misty then speaks.
"Ash are you okay?!" Misty asks as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, I'm fine but it does sting" Ash responds as Brock looks at Ash's wound and speaks.
"Still, we should treat you along with Rowlet" Brock says with Ash nodding he looks at his Pokemon and speaks.
"Okay guys we're going to stop training for today" Ash says with his Pokemon nodding. Clefable then hands Rowlet over to Brock as they then quickly run to Professor Oak's lab. As they're running Ash turns his head back to his other Pokemon he looks at Rockruff who has a sad look on his face and then walks away.
20 minutes later the gang are in Oak's lab Prof. Oak and Daisy are currently in the process of treating Rowlet while Brock has finished treating Ash's arm and has wrapped it in a bandage. Ash thanks Brock with the teen nodding Ash then looks over at Rowlet and speaks.
"How's Rowlet doing Prof. Oak and Daisy?" Ash asks as Daisy speaks.
"Rowlet's doing fine after some rest it should be back in fighting shape soon" Daisy responds with the gang nodding as Misty speaks.
"That should be easy since it usually sleeps all day anyway" Misty says with the others nodding as Ash looks at Prof. Oak and speaks.
"Hey Prof. Oak, do you know why Rockruff acted the way it did?" Ash asks as the old man speaks.
"Well from what you told me Rockruff was training along with your other Pokemon as usual until it started to become aggressive, I believe the reason Rockruff acted out the way it did is because it's getting close to evolving" Prof. Oak responds shocking the group as the old man continues to speak.
"Studies have shown that when Rockruff reach a point in their life to evolve they become more aggressive to the point of accidentally hurting their teammates and trainers. Also, sometimes Rockruff usually leave their trainers for an extended amount of time and don't come back until they've fully evolved" The old man says with the group nodding as Brock speaks.
"Now that I think about it, I believe my dad told me the same thing happened to his Lycanroc when it was a Rockruff" Brock says with the others nodding as Ash speaks.
"Is there something I can do to help Rockruff?" Ash asks as Prof. Oak speaks.
"Unfortunately, I don't believe so you'll have to let Rockruff handle this itself" Prof. Oak responds with Ash nodding. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the group Rockruff listened to the whole conversation. It's happy that it's going to evolve soon but if it means hurting its trainer and friends it doesn't want that Rockruff then leaves. Rockruff makes sure that it's not seen it leaves the ranch and continues to run until it's out of Pallet Town.
It's now nighttime and the gang is at the Ketchum residents they're currently having dinner. Ash looks at Pikachu, Torracat, Floragato, Rowlet, Riolu, Froakie, Sobble, Quaxly, Togepi, Shieldon and Mr. Mime happily eating their food as Misty speaks.
"Looks like Rowlet's recovered already" Misty says with the group nodding as they watch the Owl continuing to stuff its face with food causing everyone to chuckle. The only one who doesn't laugh is Ash who's currently staring at Rockruff's food bowl with no Rockruff in sight Brock looks at Ash and speaks.
"Are you worried about Rockruff?" Brock asks with Ash nodding as he speaks.
"Rockruff is usually always here to have dinner it's just weird not seeing it here" Ash responds with everyone nodding as Misty speaks.
"Maybe Rockruff is still at Oak's lab it probably just wants to be alone right now" Misty says as Ash speaks.
"That's what I'm worried about I get the feeling that Rockruff is just going to leave, and I might never see it again for a long time until it comes back fully evolved" Ash says having a worried expression on his face making his other Pokemon worried as Delia speaks.
"Don't worry Ash I'm sure Rockruff won't leave it loves you too much to do that and I'm confident that everything will work itself out in the end" Delia says with Ash nodding as he continues to eat his food and thinks.
"I hope you're getting a good dinner Rockruff" Ash says to himself. We now go to where Rockruff is. It's currently in a dark forest walking around with its stomach growling. Rockruff looks around trying its best to find food as it keeps looking Rockruff sees a few berries nearby and speaks.
"Arf!" Rockruff says happily as it begins to eat the berries. While Rockruff is eating it hears the sounds of buzzing, Rockruff looks behind and sees a horde of angry Beedrill's. Rockruff gets a shocked expression and begins to quickly run away with the Beedrill's chasing after it. Rockruff keeps running until it reaches a wall with nowhere to go. Rockruff looks at the Beedrill's he takes a stand and begins to growl the Beedrill's shoot forward going to sting Rockruff as the rock puppy yells.
"Arf!" Rockruff lets out a mighty bark as it fires multiple Stone Edges which hit the Beedrill's causing super effective damage. The Beedrill's then quickly fly away leaving Rockruff alone making the rock puppy happy. Rockruff's stomach then growls again as it's still hungry Rockruff continues to walk so it can find some food.
2 hours later Rockruff still hasn't found any food, yet it's just been walking and running away from any Pokemon that tries to harm it. As Rockruff continues to walk it then finds a clearing that's surrounded by multiple berries. Rockruff has a happy look on its face but before it goes to eat the berries Rockruff scans the area making sure that there are no Pokemon anywhere. After not sensing anything Rockruff smiles and speaks.
"Arf!" Rockruff says happily as it begins to eat the berries filling up its stomach. As Rockruff is eating it then hears the sounds of a Pokemon singing. Rockruff quickly stops eating it looks around trying to find the Pokemon as the mon makes itself known. Rockruff looks at the Pokemon it's a butterfly like Pokemon with an upper black body. The mon looks at Rockruff as the rock puppy asks who it is the mon introduces itself as Tapu Lele the guardian deity of Akala Island in the Alola region. This surprises Rockruff as it then asks why a guardian deity from the Alola region is in Kanto. Tapu Lele tells Rockruff that it's on vacation from the Alola region and wanted to look around in the Kanto region for a little bit but has been bored. Tapu Lele then looks at Rockruff she smiles and tells it that now Rockruff is here she wants to play with it.
Tapu Lele then covers the area they're in, in a psychic field. Rockruff looks around and tells Tapu Lele that it isn't interested in fighting right now, but the Tapu doesn't care she shoots forward and punches Rockruff across the face. Rockruff is then sent crashing through a few trees, it crashes into one more tree then falls on the ground. Rockruff then hears Tapu Lele laughing making the puppy angry as it runs forward going to bite the Tapu but the land spirit dodges. Tapu Lele then fires a Psybeam at Rockruff but the rock puppy dodges, Rockruff howls creating a big Stone Edge then launches it a Tapu Lele. Tapu Lele then stops the move using Psychic she then shoots it back at Rockruff. Rockruff quickly dodges when it does Tapu Lele appears behind Rockruff and begins to hit it repeatedly. Rockruff cries out in pain as it falls on the ground, Rockruff then begins to growl and looks at Tapu Lele. Tapu Lele then fires a Moonblast as Rockruff tries to knock it away it's unable to as it's consumed creating an explosion. Rockruff is then sent flying through the air and lands in a nearby river Rockruff is then sent downstream. Tapu Lele now feels satisfied she goes to leave and begins to think that Rockruff will be a powerful Pokemon when it evolves and hopes to battle it again one day.
Tapu Lele then leaves heading in the direction of the Alola region. Meanwhile Rockruff continues downstream it tries to swim but can't as it's too tired. Rockruff then begins to drown as it begins to think of its trainer along with its teammates. As Rockruff is about to lose consciousness suddenly, something pulls him out of the water. Rockruff tries to open its eyes seeing who saved it, it sees a bipedal wolf like Pokemon, Umbreon, Lucario, Noivern, Venusaur and a boy with blonde hair wearing black the boy then speaks.
"Let's take it inside the cave to heal it" The boy says with his Pokemon nodding Rockruff then closes its eyes going asleep as the boy and his Pokemon enter the cave.
It's now the next day Ash had a hard time sleeping last night thinking about Rockruff. Ash gets up, he walks downstairs and sees that everyone else is awake he notices Rockruff isn't there as Ash speaks.
"Did Rockruff not come back yet?" Ash asks as everyone shake their heads no. Ash gets a worried look on his face as Brock speaks.
"Come on Ash let's go to Oak's lab it should still be there" Brock says with Ash nodding. Ash, Misty (has Sobble and Quaxly on her shoulders and holding Togepi), Brock (holding Shieldon), Pikachu, Riolu, Froakie, Torracat, Rowlet and Floragato say goodbye to Delia and Mr. Mime then head over to Oak's lab. When they make it, they walk inside and don't see Oak or Daisy anywhere as Misty speaks.
"Where do you think Prof. Oak and Daisy are?" Misty questions with everyone else wondering the same they then hear a lot of commotion outside and quickly run to the ranch. When they make it, they see all of Ash's Pokemon along with Daisy's Aerodactyl frantically running/flying around looking for something. The group then see Oak and Daisy searching too they run over to them as Ash speaks.
"Prof. Oak and Ms. Daisy what's going on?" Ash asks the two researchers stop their search they look at Ash as Oak speaks.
"I hate to tell you this Ash, but we can't find Rockruff anywhere" The old man says shocking everyone as Daisy speaks.
"When we began to feed your Pokemon we noticed that Rockruff wasn't with them so your Pokemon and us have been looking for it throughout the ranch the entire morning so far" Daisy responds as Brock speaks.
"Seeing as you haven't found it yet does this mean that Rockruff left the ranch?" Brock asks as Oak speaks.
"That seems to be the case we've searched high and low for Rockruff but don't see it anywhere in the ranch" Oak responds as Misty speaks.
"When do you suppose it left?" Misty asks as Daisy speaks.
"We believe that Rockruff left sometime last night when we were all sleeping. It probably left because it didn't want to hurt anyone else" Daisy responds with the group nodding they then look at Ash as Misty speaks.
"Ash" Misty says as Ash speaks.
"Rockruff shouldn't have gotten far I will find it" Ash says having a determined look on his face Ash then looks at his Pokemon and speaks.
"Guys come over here!" Ash yells as all of his Pokemon run/fly over to him Ash looks at his Pokemon and speaks.
"Rockruff is going through his evolution phase right now he left believing that he'll hurt us if he stayed. Now I learned yesterday that it's part of Rockruff's nature when it comes to evolving and he'll come back when he's fully evolved. But that can take days, weeks and even months I don't want to wait that long to see Rockruff again so let's get out there and find him!" Ash states as all of his Pokemon roar in agreement Ash then looks at Professor Oak and speaks.
"Is it okay for all of my Pokemon to leave the ranch Professor?" Ash asks as the old man speaks.
"Yes of course this is an emergency" The old man says with Ash nodding as Misty and Brock speak.
"We'll help too" The two kids say as they grab their Pokeball's and throw them high in the air. Misty's Pokemon come out first consisting of Vaporeon, Starmie, Horsea and Dewgong (Sobble and Quaxly go stand next to them). Next Brock's Pokemon appear consisting of Golbat, Lycanroc, Vulpix, Sandslash and Onix. Ash looks at his two friends and smiles saying thank you he then looks at his Pokemon and speaks.
"Okay I'm going to break you guys into teams the Pokemon that can fly will search in the air, the ground types/Pokemon that can dig will dig underground, the water types will search in the water and the rest of us will search on land now let's GO!" "PIKA!" Ash and Pikachu yell while all of the Pokemon let out a mighty roar, they all quickly head out of the ranch to search for Rockruff. The flying Pokemon consisting of Pidgeot, Charizard (with Dratini on its head), Corviknight, Noivern, Flygon, Scyther, Heracross, Rowlet, Hawlucha, Noctowl, Gengar, Raichu, Glalie, Gabite, Gyarados, Daisy's Aerodactyl (with Daisy riding on its back) and Brock's Golbat fly in the air to search for Rockruff down below. The ground types consisting of Krookodile, Dunsparce, Onix and Sandslash dig underground. The water types consisting of Wartortle, Kingler, Aqua, Palpitoad, Froakie, Vaporeon, Sobble, Quaxly, Starmie, Horsea and Dewgong swim in the water searching for any signs of Rockruff in a river. Then the land team consisting of Ash, Misty, Brock, Pikachu, Torracat, Floragato, Venusaur, Clefable, Ninetales, Boldore, Charcadet, Tinkaton, Bisharp, Farfetch'd, Primeape, Hitmonlee, Luxio, Pyroar, Crocalor, Darumaka, Grovyle, Thwackey, Tyrunt, Arcanine, Blaze, Lee, Tauros, Muk, Riolu, Brock's Lycanroc and Vulpix search on the land. We see everyone leave the lab the only one who doesn't leave is Prof. Oak as he has to stay there to watch the other Pokemon at the lab and wait to see if Rockruff comes back Ash then speaks.
"ROCKRUFF WHERE ARE YOU!" "PIKA!" Ash along with Pikachu, Misty, Brock and ash's other Pokemon call out Rockruff's name calling for it. We see all of the Pokemon searching for it Gengar goes into people's houses searching for any signs of Rockruff but all this does is scare the people living there. Glalie also accidently scares people as well by looking through the windows. Ash then tells Gyarados to join the water team as he doesn't want people to see a flying Gyarados with the sea serpent agreeing. Grovyle, Floragato, Thwackey and Primeape jump from tree to tree searching for any signs of Rockruff. As everyone continues to look Brock's Lycanroc pulls Ninetales, Arcanine and Riolu a side then speaks.
"Ly, ly, can, roc" The wolf tells them that the 4 of them might have the best chance of finding Rockruff if they work together. The other 3 nod Lycanroc then asks Riolu if it can sense Rockruff's aura, Riolu closes her eyes she begins to try and sense for Rockruff. Riolu does feel a presence but it's small Riolu then speaks.
"Rio, Rio" Riolu says that it feels a presence somewhere North the other 3 nod telling Riolu to show them the way with the aura puppy nodding. The 4 canines then leave going in a different direction as Misty speaks.
"Hey where did Riolu, Lycanroc, Arcanine and Ninetales go?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.
"They must be looking in a different area than us" Brock responds with Misty nodding as Ash speaks.
"I hope they're able to find Rockruff" Ash says with the others nodding as they continue their search for Rockruff.
10 hours later the gang still haven't found Rockruff but we come away from them and go back to the cave where Rockruff is. Currently Rockruff is still asleep it then opens its eyes and sees that it's laying on a bed with its body bandaged up the blonde boy along with his Pokemon look at Rockruff. Rockruff then gets in a battle stance and begins to growl as the boy speaks.
"It's fine we mean you no harm we saw how injured you were and healed your wounds" The boy says Rockruff looks at the boy's eyes and feels no evil malice from him. Rockruff then stops growling, the puppy looks at the boy along with his Pokemon and speaks.
"Arf!" Rockruff says thank you making them all smile as the boy then speaks.
"Tell me do you belong to a trainer?" The boy asks with Rockruff nodding as the boy speaks.
"If that's the case why're you so far away from your trainer?" The boy asks as Rockruff begins to tell the boy everything the boy nods he smiles and speaks.
"I see so that's why you ran away that's understandable the same thing happened to my Lycanroc too when he was a Rockruff" The boy says pointing to his Midnight Lycanroc who nods in agreement. Rockruff looks at the mon and finds it to be cool as the boy continues to speak.
"When it was close to evolving it also acted aggressively and ran away but 2 days later, he returned having evolved and has become a lot stronger." The boy says with Lycanroc nodding the boy looks at Rockruff and speaks.
"Tell me do you want to go back to your trainer? Even though you accidently attacked your trainer and teammate they must be looking for you right now and are worried." The boy asks as Rockruff shakes its head no saying that it doesn't want to go back yet until it evolves. The boy nods, he smiles and speaks.
"In that case you can stay here as long as you like until you evolve and train with my Pokemon they're all tough so no matter how aggressive you get they'll match you" The boy says with his Pokemon nodding in agreement. This makes Rockruff happy as he jumps on the boy, beginning to lick his face, making the boy laugh.
"Hahahahaha stop that tickles" The boy says with Rockruff nodding he gets off the boy letting him stand up the boy looks at his Pokemon and speaks.
"Okay Umbreon, Lycanroc, Noivern, Lucario and Venusaur I want you all to give Rockruff some good training helping it become stronger. I'll be deeper in the cave training our last team member make sure to protect Rockruff and alert me if anything bad happens" The boy says with his Pokemon nodding the boy then looks at Rockruff and speaks.
"You're in good hands my Pokemon will help you grow a lot" The boy says with Rockruff nodding. Rockruff then takes off its bandages as it along with the boy's Pokemon then run outside to begin training the boy looks at them leave and smiles. His smile then goes away as he walks deep inside the cave when he's deep enough he grabs an Ultra Ball from his Pocket throws it and speaks.
"Come out Silvally!" The boy says as a Pokemon wearing a face mask appears it gives a mighty roar as the boy speaks.
"Now let's continue training" The boy says with the mon nodding as they begin to train. We now come outside of the cave with Rockruff facing against the boy's Pokemon. They all get into battle stances Rockruff looks at them and growls as it speaks.
"Arf!" Rockruff barks as it fires a big Stone Edge at them. Lucario then covers its fist in steel energy it shoots forward using Meteor Mash and easily destroys the Stone Edge. Rockruff then goes to bite Lucario with Crunch, but it then notices a Dark Pulse heading for it. Rockruff quickly does a back flip in the air dodging the attack when Rockruff lands it glares at Umbreon. Rockruff goes to attack the black fox, but Noivern fires a Boomburst which knocks Rockruff away. Rockruff then recovers and fires a Stone Edge at Noivern making the Wyvern dodge, Rockruff then sees Venusaur behind it and fires a Sludge Bomb. Rockruff quickly turns around and uses Psychic Fangs. Rockruff bites down on the big poison ball and easily destroys it. Rockruff is about to attack Venusaur but it then sees Lycanroc going to punch it. Rockruff quickly backs away as Lycanroc punches the ground instead. Rockruff then looks at Lycanroc and begins to growl with Lycanroc doing the same the two dogs then jump at each other and clash causing an explosion.
1 hour later we come to the group of Riolu, Lycanroc, Arcanine and Ninetales even though it still took a long time thanks to the help of Riolu they've been able to find places where Rockruff's been and feel as though they're getting closer. The 4 mons are currently running alongside a riverbed Riolu feels something and speaks.
"Rio, Rio" Riolu says that it feels Rockruff's presence is around here with the 3-mons nodding. As they continue to run, they hear an explosion making them concerned they run faster until they see Rockruff laying on the ground injured and is surrounded by 5 Pokemon. The 4 mons get angry seeing their friend in that state Riolu then sends out a distress signal to everyone else. We then see Ash along with everyone else they get Riolu's distress signal as Misty speaks.
"Was that from Riolu?" Misty asks as Ash speaks.
"Come on we have to hurry Rockruff's in trouble" Ash says with the others nodding as they quickly begin running in the direction of where Riolu's distress signal came from.
We now come back to Riolu's group they see Rockruff stand back up its panting but barks Midnight Lycanroc then raises its fist it goes to punch Rockruff as Brock's Lycanroc quickly shoots forward using Accelrock. It keeps going until it blindsides Midnight Lycanroc hitting it in the side making it cough in pain the wolf is then sent flying and crashes into a nearby rock. Umbreon, Lucario, Noivern and Venusaur have shocked looks on their faces they then look at Brock's Lycanroc and glare at it. Lycanroc stands protectively over Rockruff and growls at them as Rockruff speaks.
"Arf" Rockruff asks why Lycanroc's here the wolf then looks at Rockruff and barks saying that it along with the others are here to rescue it. Before Rockruff can ask who else is here Riolu, Ninetales and Arcanine jump forward making themselves known they stand next to Lycanroc and begin to growl as well. Rockruff is happy to see its friends but before it can tell them that It's a misunderstanding Midnight Lycanroc appears from the rock he roars and glares at the 4 mons with the 4-mons glaring back Midnight Lycanroc then yells.
"ROCK!" The wolf yells as it along with Umbreon, Lucario, Noivern and Venusaur charge. Midday Lycanroc along with Riolu, Ninetales and Arcanine charge as well the 9 mons then collide with each other beginning their fight.
"Nine!" Ninetales roars as she fires an Ice Beam at Noivern but the Wyvern counters with Flamethrower and easily destroys the icy beam. Ninetales dodges the stream of fire then launches a Moonblast at Noivern before it hits the Wyvern Umbreon appears knocking the fairy orb away with Iron Tail. Umbreon then charges forward using Quick Attack. Ninetales jumps forward using its own Quick Attack the two-mons roar then collide creating an explosion. Arcanine fires a big Flamethrower at Venusaur the plant dinosaur roars and fires multiple Sludge Bomb's which collide with the Flamethrower creating an explosion. Arcanine then appears from the explosion its body is covered in fire using Raging Fury Venusaur roars it charges forward using Giga Impact. The two mons collide and begin to fight for dominance as we now see Riolu going to attack Lucario.
"Rio!" Riolu yells as it goes to hit Lucario with Force Palm, but the aura dog easily blocks and knocks Riolu away. Lucario then fires and Aura Sphere at Riolu the aura puppy quickly brings up its arms blocking the attack. Riolu lands back down on the ground as Lucario goes to attack Riolu, the aura puppy quickly puts its hands together and fires an Aura Sphere this shocks Lucario as it gets hit in the face. Lucario skids back it wasn't expecting Riolu to use Aura Sphere Lucario then sees Riolu jump towards it using Power Up Punch. Lucario roars and uses its own Power Up Punch the two mons collide creating an explosion as we now come to the two Lycanroc's battling each other.
"LY!" The two wolfs yell as they collide then back away from each other. Midday Lycanroc stops as it dashes forward and hits Midnight Lycanroc in the stomach using Accelrock making the wolf cough in pain. Midnight Lycanroc's right fist then glows in orange energy and punches Midday Lycanroc in the face using Counter. Midday Lycanroc is then sent flying crashing into a nearby rock. Rockruff gets a worried expression on his face as Midday Lycanroc appears she gives a mighty roar then fires a big Stone Edge at Midnight Lycanroc with the wolf doing the same. The two sharp rocks collide creating an explosion, the two Lycanroc's then jump at each other and roar.
"ROCK!" The two wolves roar and collide continuing their battle. Rockruff looks on it sees its friends along with its new friends fighting with each other Rockruff wants to stop the fighting. Rockruff begins to doubt itself thinking it can't stop them. Rockruff then shakes its head telling itself not to think like that it gets a determined look on its face and barks.
"ARF!" Rockruff lets out a loud bark as it fires multiple large Stone Edges in all directions. All the Pokemon notice and quickly dodge as the Stone Edges hit other spots causing multiple explosions. We then see Ash along with his Pokemon and friends they are currently running alongside the riverbed and hear the explosions. They all have concerned expressions on their faces as Ash speaks.
"Come on let's hurry!" Ash says with everyone nodding as they begin to run, fly and swim faster. Meanwhile in the cave the boy along with Silvally hear the explosions the boy then speaks.
"Sounds like they're having a bit too much fun with training Silvally return!" The boy says with the mon nodding it goes back in its Pokeball as the boy then runs heading for the cave exit. We now come back to outside the cave the Pokemon look at Rockruff and are amazed by its power as the rock puppy speaks.
"Arf, arf, arf, Arf!" Rockruff tells everyone that this is all a misunderstanding and they're fighting for no reason. Rockruff tells Midnight Lycanroc, Umbreon, Lucario, Venusaur and Noivern that the 4 mons they're fighting are its teammates. Rockruff then tells Midday Lycanroc, Ninetales, Arcanine and Riolu that these Pokemon saved it when it was about to drown in water. The 9 mons then nod they begin to apologize to each other making Rockruff happy. Suddenly Ash's Gyarados appears from the water letting out a massive roar surprising the 10 mons as they then hear Ash's voice.
"ROCKRUFF!" Ash's voice echoes as everyone looks as they see Ash, Misty, Brock and Daisy along with all of their Pokemon running towards them when they get close enough, they stop Ash then runs over to Rockruff and speaks.
"Rockruff we've been searching everywhere for you I'm happy that you're okay" Ash says happily. Rockruff looks at Ash, it gets a sad look on its face and speaks.
"Arf, arf" Rockruff tells Ash along with its other friends that it's sorry for biting Ash and Rowlet then running away Ash then speaks.
"Hey Rockruff, it's okay I'll admit I was a bit scared when you bit me but look my arm has healed and so has Rowlet's wing" Ash says as Rowlet appears perching on Ash's shoulder and gives Rockruff a thumbs up saying its wing is fine and forgives it. Rockruff looks at Ash and Rowlet tears then well up in the puppy's eyes as it begins to cry in Ash's arms as Ash speaks.
"There, there it's okay" Ash says as he gently hugs Rockruff everyone looks at them and smile Misty then looks at the 5 mons in front of them and speaks.
"I wonder do these Pokemon belong to someone?" Misty questions as Brock speaks.
"They have to as aside from Venusaur none of the other Pokemon can be found in the Kanto region other than maybe the Safari Zone" Brock responds with Misty nodding Ash then looks at the 5 mons he looks at Midnight Lycanroc and speaks.
"Is that a Lycanroc?" Ash asks as they then hear a voice.
"Yes, it is, and these are my Pokemon" The voice says everyone turn their heads right and see the blonde-haired boy that was taking care of Rockruff he stands next to his Pokemon as Misty speaks.
"So, they belong to him" Misty says Rockruff then jumps out of Ash's arms it runs over to the boy and begins to happily bark at him the boy looks at Rockruff he smiles and speaks.
"I see so that guy over there is your trainer along with his Pokemon I'm happy that they found you" The boy says smiling making the rock puppy happy. Ash then walks over to the boy and speaks.
"Thank you for taking care of Rockruff I was really worried about it. Oh, and also my name is Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town what's your name?" Ash asks as the boy speaks.
"My name is Gladion and I was born in the Alola region" Gladion responds as Ash speaks.
"Gladion huh? Well, it's nice to meet you" Ash says while holding out his hand Gladion takes it and speaks.
"Nice to meet you too" Gladion responds as he and Ash shake hands Ash then looks at Gladion's left arm and sees what looks like a watch on his wrist Ash then speaks.
"Hey Gladion, what's that?" Ash asks, pointing at the watch as Gladion speaks.
"This is a Z ring and on top is a Z crystal it lets you use a powerful move along with your Pokemon called a Z move" Gladion responds surprising Ash as he speaks.
"I remember Kiawe telling me about this before hey Gladion let's battle I want to see your Z move" Ash says having an excited look on his face. Gladion looks at Ash then looks at his Pokemon he can sense that Ash is a strong trainer Gladion then speaks.
"That's fine with me I'm interested in your strength too let's battle" Gladion responds making Ash excited as Gladion speaks.
"What're the rules for this battle?" Gladion asks as Ash speaks.
"It'll be a one-on-one battle and I'll be using Rockruff" Ash responds with Rockruff happily barking as Gladion speaks.
"In that case I'll use Lycanroc" Gladion responds as his Midnight Lycanroc smiles. The two boys then take their battle positions they stare at each other as Brock takes the referee position and speaks.
"This is a 1v1 single battle between Ash and Gladion the winner will be decided on whoever defeats their opponents Pokemon first if both trainers are ready, you may now begin!" Brock says as Ash speaks.
"Let's go Rockruff use Stone Edge!" Ash calls Rockruff barks it stomps its feet on the ground summoning the large sharp stones they head for Lycanroc as Gladion makes a command.
"Lycanroc run forward and use Brick Break!" Gladion calls Lycanroc, nods, it jumps forward and begins to easily destroy the Stone Edge until it reaches Rockruff Ash then speaks.
"Rockruff use Crunch!" "Lycanroc block then toss Rockruff away!" Both trainers call Rockruff jumps forward going to bite down on Lycanroc. But the wolf blocks with its left arm Lycanroc then tosses Rockruff away as Gladion makes a command.
"Now Stone Edge!" "Dodge Rockruff!" Both trainers call Lycanroc roars it punches its fist on the ground summoning the sharp stones. The Stone Edge heads for Rockruff as the rock puppy begins to quickly run away. Lycanroc quickly dashes forward until it gets in front of Rockruff causing the rock puppy to stop. Rockruff is then hit by the Stone Edge launching it in the air Lycanroc jumps after it as Gladion makes a command.
"Use Crunch!" Gladion calls Lycanroc reaches Rockruff and bites down hard on the puppy. Rockruff groans in pain as Lycanroc then throws Rockruff back towards the ground. Rockruff hits the ground hard it struggles to stand up as Ash speaks.
"Rockruff above you!" Ash calls Rockruff looks up and sees Lycanroc heading towards it as Gladion makes a command.
"Now Brick Break!" "Dodge Rockruff!" Both trainers call as Lycanroc goes to hit Rockruff the rock puppy quickly backs away making Lycanroc slam its fist hard on the ground cracking it Ash then calls for a command.
"Now Stone Edge!" Ash calls Rockruff roars as it creates a big Stone Edge and shoots it at Lycanroc as it's about to hit the wolf Gladion makes a command.
"Destroy it with Mega Punch then use Close Combat!" Gladion calls Lycanroc roars its right fist glows and punches the sharp stone easily destroying it. Lycanroc then shoots forward and begins to repeatedly punch/kick Rockruff. Rockruff cries out in pain as Lycanroc punches Rockruff one more time in the face making the rock puppy fall on the battlefield Ash looks at it and speaks.
"Rockruff!" Ash calls in worry he looks at Rockruff he sees that it's struggling to stand and is panting heavily Gladion then speaks.
"Looks like this is as far as your Rockruff can go" Gladion says with Lycanroc nodding as Ash speaks.
"No, it's not over yet Rockruff can still keep going I know it can!" Ash says as Gladion speaks.
"Don't you think you're being a bit reckless? it's a trainer's job to know when their Pokemon can't fight anymore and from my point of view Rockruff is done fighting" Gladion responds as Ash speaks.
"You're right I may be being reckless but just looking at Rockruff I can feel that it wants to keep going and is not done yet!" Ash states with all of his Pokemon roaring in agreement Gladion then looks at Rockruff who's still trying to stand up and sees in its eyes that it can still fight Gladion then speaks.
"Okay then show me more of your power" Gladion says with his Lycanroc nodding Ash nods he looks at Rockruff and speaks.
"Come on Rockruff stand up I know you can do it like my other Pokemon you train hard every day continuing to improve yourself. I also know just how strong/determined you are so stand up Rockruff and LET'S WIN THIS BATTLE!" Ash says letting out a loud cheer with all of his other Pokemon along with Misty's and Brock's Pokemon cheering as well. Rockruff hears the cheers from its friends and trainer Rockruff begins to think back in the Safari Zone it never thought that it could be as strong as it is now. But thanks to Ash along with the other Pokemon training with it Rockruff has become much stronger. Rockruff still feels bad for biting Ash and Rowlet but they forgave him and Rockruff has to move past that. Rockruff wants to become much stronger like Gladion's Lycanroc, Brock's Lycanroc, and Ash's other Pokemon it won't give up until it achieves its goal. Rockruff then sees the sun starting to set and sees a green light, the rock puppy looks at it and howls.
"ARF!" Rockruff lets out a loud howl as its body begins to glow a bright green. Everyone looks at Rockruff having shocked looks on their faces as they see Rockruff starting to change. It grows a foot taller still on its 4 legs, has orange fur, its eyes become green and gets a white mane. When the evolution stops what was once a Rockruff now stands a Lycanroc as it howls.
"LY!" The wolf lets out a loud howl which sends out a big shockwave showcasing its power as Misty speaks.
"Rockruff evolved into a Lycanroc but it looks different" Misty says as Daisy speaks.
"Its body is similar to Midday Lycanroc and has the mane of Midnight Lycanroc. It looks like Rockruff evolved into a Lycanroc that has the appearance of both forms" Daisy says with Misty nodding as Daisy continues to speak.
"Making this a never before seen form of Lycanroc which I'll call Dusk form since it evolved at Dusk" Daisy says with the group nodding Ash along with his Pokemon have shocked looks on their faces Ash looks at Lycanroc and speaks.
"Lycanroc?" Ash asks the wolf looks at Ash and his Pokemon then smiles making Ash and the others smile too as Ash speaks.
"Congratulations on evolving Lycanroc you look so cool!" Ash says happily with his other Pokemon cheering too Lycanroc looks at them and smiles. Meanwhile on the other side of the battlefield Gladion along with his Pokemon have shocked looks on their faces as Gladion speaks.
"It evolved into a new form" Gladion says with his other Pokemon nodding Gladion smiles and speaks.
"Interesting Ash I want to see just how strong it is now after evolving" Gladion says with his Lycanroc nodding as it gets in a battle stance Ash nods and speaks.
"You got it Gladion here we come let's show off your new power Lycanroc use Accelrock!" Ash calls Lycanroc lets out a mighty roar its eyes suddenly turn red surprising Ash and Gladion. Lycanroc then shoots forward at a blinding speed and hits Midnight Lycanroc in the stomach. The wolf coughs in pain as it's then sent flying crashing into a rock behind Gladion and his Pokemon as Gladion speaks.
"Lycanroc!" Gladion calls out in worry when the dust clears his Lycanroc appears from the rock it has some scratches then glares at Ash's Lycanroc with the wolf glaring back as Gladion speaks.
"Not only is it faster it has gotten much stronger too" Gladion says as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, way to go Lycanroc let's keep going!" Ash cheers along with his other Pokemon as Lycanroc barks in agreement Gladion then calls for his next move.
"Lycanroc Stone Edge!" Gladion calls Lycanroc roars it punches the ground summoning the large sharp stones as Ash speaks.
"Counter with your Stone Edge!" Ash calls Lycanroc roars it stomps its feet on the ground summoning the sharp rocks. The Stone Edge's collide creating an explosion, a gust of wind and a dust cloud, Ash's Lycanroc appears from the dust it's in front of Glaidion's Lycanroc and has its teeth ready as Ash makes a command.
"Lycanroc use Crunch!" Ash calls Lycanroc covers its teeth in dark energy and bites down hard on Midnight Lycanroc's right shoulder making the wolf groan in pain, but it then clinches its right fist as Gladion calls for a command.
"Lycanroc Counter!" Gladion calls Lycanroc's fist glows in orange energy and punches Ash's Lycanroc in the stomach hard making the wolf cough in pain as it's then sent flying landing below Ash's feet as Ash speaks.
"Lycanroc are you okay?!" Ash asks the wolf stands back up it pants a little bit but nods as Ash speaks.
"Great let's keep going!" Ash says with Lycanroc nodding Ash's other Pokemon roar cheering on Lycanroc as Gladion speaks.
"Not only has its attack and speed grown but so has its defense looks like I'll have to use my Z move" Gladion says as he pulls his left arm up, he looks at his Lycanroc and speaks.
"Here we Go Lycanroc!" Gladion says as Lycanroc roars in agreement Gladion touches the crystal as it begins to shine Ash then speaks.
"Here it comes Lycanroc get ready!" Ash says with the wolf nodding it begins to pant as everyone looks at Gladion and Lycanroc they begin to synchronize their movements as Gladion speaks.
"The rocks bathed in the Z Power of the blue moons glow and seal up this broken world!" Gladion says as he raises up his left arm everyone then see an orange aura going into Lycanroc they continue to watch with Ash's Lycanroc continuing to pant as Gladion speaks.
"Take This Continental Cru-" Before Gladion finishes everyone then see Ash's Lycanroc fall on the ground laying on its stomach knocked out Ash looks at it and speaks.
"Lycanroc!" Ash calls out to the wolf but doesn't get a response as he sees Lycanroc just panting Brock then speaks.
"Ash's Lycanroc is unable to battle Gladion's Lycanroc is the winner making Gladion the winner of the battle!" Brock says Gladion and Lycanroc then stop their movements and nod as Misty speaks.
"Lycanroc must've used up all the energy it had to evolve" Misty says as Daisy speaks.
"Also, Gladion's Lycanroc was more powerful landing many blows on Lycanroc when it was still a Rockruff. It tried its best to keep going but its body then gave out on it as it was too exhausted" Daisy says with Misty nodding. Everyone then see Ash walk over to Lycanroc he gently lifts up the wolf's head. Lycanroc opens its eyes it looks at Ash telling him sorry as Ash speaks.
"It's okay Lycanroc you did your best you've used a lot of energy, so your body needed to rest and besides I'm happy you evolved and became stronger let's keep training for the league" Ash says with his other Pokemon nodding agreeing with him. Lycanroc looks at Ash and its teammates the wolf nods making Ash smile they then notice Gladion and his Lycanroc walk over as Gladion speaks.
"Looks like our battle was cut short even though it was called as our win it doesn't feel like a victory to us" Gladion says with Lycanroc nodding as Ash stands up and speaks.
"Heh, I know how that feels but even if Lycanroc didn't faint and you did successfully launch your Z move, I'm sure we would've lost anyway as Lycanroc was starting to lose steam and I also didn't have any way to counter the move either so to us it's still a loss" Ash says with his Lycanroc nodding as Gladion speaks.
"I see overall it was a good battle your Lycanroc proved to be strong" Gladion says as he holds out his hand Ash grabs it and speaks.
"Thanks, your Lycanroc was strong too" Ash says with Gladion nodding the two then shake hands, Gladion's Lycanroc then gives Ash's Lycanroc a pat on the head making Ash's Lycanroc happy as Ash speaks.
"By the way Gladion are you also competing in the Kanto league?" Ash asks as Gladion speaks.
"No, I'm currently just traveling around training up my Pokemon I don't have an interest in competing in a league currently" Gladion responds with Ash nodding as he speaks.
"I see I was really looking forward to battling you again in the league but oh well in that case if we ever see each other again let's have another battle Lycanroc will be much stronger than it is today and then we'll defeat you" Ash says with Lycanroc agreeing Gladion smiles and speaks.
"I would like to battle you again too the next time we meet, and I wish you along with your Pokemon luck in the Kanto league" Gladion says with Ash and his Pokemon nodding as he speaks.
"Thanks, we'll do our best and win!" Ash states as all of his Pokemon roar in agreement Gladion along with Misty, Brock and Daisy smile. After that Gladion returns all of his Pokemon except for Noivern he gets on Noivern's back then flies away into the night sky. The group wave him goodbye until they can't see him anymore when they're done waving Ash then speaks.
"Okay guys let's go home" Ash says with everyone nodding as they all go home.
30 minutes later they've all made it back to Prof. Oak's lab the old man is amazed by Lycanroc's appearance and speaks.
"Amazing this is a form of Lycanroc I've never seen before you said you called it Dusk form Daisy?" The old man asks as Daisy nods Oak continues to happily look at Lycanroc he then looks at Ash and speaks.
"I must say Ash you've yourself a really rare Pokemon" The old man says with Ash nodding as he speaks.
"Thanks, and I can't wait to use Lycanroc in the league" Ash says with the group nodding. Ash along with Pikachu, Lycanroc, Riolu, Froakie, Misty and Brock then head outside of the lab. When they make it outside, they see that all of Ash's Pokemon are lined up, Pikachu, Lycanroc, Riolu and Froakie go stand with them. When they do, they all look at Ash who takes a couple steps forward and speaks.
"This is it everyone the Kanto league will finally begin tomorrow. We trained a lot during these past 5 weeks making sure to improve on anything we're lacking. And it's time to put everything that we've trained hard for to the test" Ash says with his Pokemon nodding as Ash continues to speak.
"But we're not the only ones who've trained hard Gary, Leaf, Paul, Ritchie, Giselle, Joe, AJ, Jackie and many other trainers have trained hard too and will give us a challenge in the league" Ash says with his Pokemon nodding as he continues to speak.
"But I believe that we can still win we've all grown much stronger than we were before no matter how much stronger our rivals have gotten, we'll surpass them AND WIN THE LEAGUE!" Ash states having a determined look on his face he raises his fist high in the air as all of his Pokemon let out a mighty roar in agreement. Misty, Brock along with Oak and Daisy look at them having smiles on their faces. We now go to different areas of the Kanto region where we see Gary, Leaf, Paul, AJ, Giselle, Joe, Ritchie, Jackie and Harrison, they're all making last minute preparations for the league. We now come back to Ash he's looking at his Pokemon cheering he then looks at the sky and speaks.
"Kanto League here we come and we're going to win" Ash says to himself while looking at the night sky as the chapter comes to an end.

Next chapter will come out next week it'll focus on the gang making it to Indigo Plateau to attend the ceremony for the league. They'll meet up with old characters and the rivals that Ash has made throughout his Kanto journey. Also, a certain character that was mentioned before will make an appearance in the league can you guys guess who it is?
