Chapter 53 Kanto League Opening Ceremony
Hello everyone, this chapter will mainly focus on the gang heading to the Indigo Plateau to attend the league ceremony and meet up with old friends/rivals. I hope you all enjoy it.
The chapter begins the next day after the last chapter ended. It's currently 9:00am in the morning and the gang is at Oaks lab as Ash wanted to get some early training in with his Pokemon. Currently Ash is in Oak's ranch with all of his Pokemon. They're all sitting down in a meditation position and have their eyes closed. Misty and Brock have been watching Ash and his Pokemon Prof. Oak walks over to them and speaks.
"How long has it been?" The old man asks as Brock speaks.
"It's been 30 minutes" Brock responds as Misty speaks.
"It's surprising to see Ash actually meditating he normally wouldn't do that along with some of his Pokemon" Misty says as Oak speaks.
"That just shows how serious he and his Pokemon are as the competition this time around is going to be harder than anything they've faced before if they fail there are no do overs, so Ash has to make sure that he and his Pokemon have a clear mind" Oak says with Misty and Brock nodding they continue to watch Ash and his Pokemon meditate as a few seconds later they all open their eyes they stand up Ash looks at his Pokemon and speaks.
"Alright after doing that I feel ready do you guys feel the same?" Ash asks with his Pokemon nodding as he speaks.
"Great now let's get out there and win!" Ash cheers raising his fist in the air with all of his Pokemon roaring in agreement. After that they leave Oak's lab, they say bye to Delia and Mr. Mime then start walking toward Victory Road.
2 hours later the gang made it to Victory Road before they head inside Ash speaks.
"So, this is Victory Road I have to pass here in order to get to the Indigo Plateau" Ash says with Misty and Brock nodding as Brock speaks.
"Yep, I've heard that before competing in the league many trainers come here to train by battling and catching strong Pokemon that reside in here" Brock says with Ash nodding as he speaks.
"Well, I think I already have trained enough and captured enough Pokemon lets go" Ash says with Misty and Brock nodding as they walk into the cave. As they're walking, they come across many strong Pokemon that challenge Ash consisting of Onix, Machoke's, Golem's and Rhydon's. But Ash easily defeats them with Pikachu, Charizard, Riolu, Froakie, Bisharp and Clefable. As they're getting closer to the exit a wild Machamp appears and is currently battling Ash's Clefable there's an explosion making the two-mons skid back Machamp charges forward using Bullet Punch as Ash calls for a command.
"Clefable quick use Psychic to stop it!" Ash calls Clefable quickly fires the psychic waves and stops Machamp before it can hit it. Machamp begins to try and break free as Ash calls for a command.
"Now Moonblast!" Ash calls Clefable quickly fires a point blank Moonblast in Machamp's face creating an explosion. Machamp is sent flying in the air then comes crashing back down knocked out Ash then cheers.
"Yeah!" "Pika!" "Rio!" Fro!" "Clef!" Ash along with Pikachu, Riolu, Froakie and Clefable cheer in victory Ash looks at Clefable and speaks.
"Great job Clefable!" Ash says with the pixie mon nodding. The group then see the wild Machamp stand back up and looks at the group. After staring at them for a few seconds Machamp smiles then points to the exit of the cave as Misty speaks.
"Is that the cave exit?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.
"It must be Machamp probably feels that Ash is worthy of going forward to compete in the league" Brock answers with Misty nodding as Ash speaks.
"Thanks, Machamp okay guys let's go!" Ash says happily with the others nodding as they all run to the exit and make it out of the cave. Once they're out they see the beautiful sky and the freshly cut grass, Misty then speaks.
"Ah this feels nice don't you agree Sobble, Quaxly and Togepi?" Misty asks with the 3-mons nodding Ash then looks at Brock and speaks.
"Where do we go next Brock?" Ash asks as Brock speaks.
"If we keep heading North, we should be able to reach the league in 30 minutes" Brock says with Ash nodding as the group is about to head out, they hear someone groaning in pain. They turn their heads right seeing a car, a man sitting down holding his leg and Mr. Goodshow Misty then speaks.
"Is that Mr. Goodshow what's he doing here?" Misty questions as Brock speaks.
"I'm not sure he should be at the league right now" Brock says as Ash speaks.
"Come on let's go help them" Ash says with Misty and Brock nodding, they quickly run forward. As Mr. Goodshow keeps looking at the man groaning in pain, he hears Ash's voice.
"Mr. Goodshow!" Ash yells the old man turns around he sees Ash along with his friends and Pokemon. When the group get closer Goodshow looks at them and speaks.
"Oh, Ash and friends I wasn't expecting to see you here" The man says as Ash speaks.
"Is something wrong?" Ash asks as Goodshow speaks.
"Why yes as you can see our flame runner has accidentally twisted his leg and won't be able to run" Goodshow responds as Ash speaks,
"Flame runner?" Ash questions as Misty speaks.
"During the time for the league there's a person who runs carrying a flaming torch which signals the start of the league" Misty says as Brock speaks.
"It's also said that the fire of the torch comes from the legendary Pokemon Moltres and trainers usually pray to it for good luck to win their battles" Brock says with Ash nodding he looks at Goodshow and speaks.
"Hey Mr. Goodshow if it's alright with you can my Pokemon and I run the torch to the league?" Ash asks surprising everyone Goodshow smiles then speaks.
"That would be helpful thank you" Goodshow says with Ash nodding. After that Ash gets into running gear wearing a T-shirt, shorts and his running shoes. Ash's Pokemon consisting of Pikachu, Clefable, Charizard, Bisharp, Riolu and Froakie are all standing next to him. Goodshow then hands Ash the torch Ash looks at it and speaks.
"So, this is the flame of Moltres? By just looking at it I can feel its strength and can see why this would give many trainers motivation to do well in the league" Ash says with everyone nodding. After that Misty, Brock and Goodshow get into a truck. Ash along with his Pokemon get into a running position waiting for the signal as Goodshow speaks.
"Alright let's be off" Goodshow says with Ash nodding as he along with his Pokemon begin jogging to the Pokemon league (with Charizard flying above them) while Goodshow, Misty and Brock follow them in the truck.
30 minutes later we come to the Pokemon league there are many people and trainers all lined up waiting for the torch runner. We see Gary among the crowd waiting too as he then hears a familiar voice.
"Gary!" The voice echoes Gary turns around and smiles when he sees Leaf. Leaf quickly runs over to him when she gets closer the girl stops and speaks.
"Gary it's been so long!" Leaf says as she wraps Gary in a hug making the boy blush as he speaks.
"It's only been a week Leaf" Gary responds as Leaf speaks.
"That's still a long time" Leaf responds she then let's go of the boy as she speaks.
"Hey Gary, have you seen Ash, Misty and Brock yet?" Leaf asks as Gary speaks.
"No, I haven't I was hoping to see them in the crowd somewhere, but I don't see them anywhere" Gary responds with Leaf nodding as she speaks.
"You don't think they're going to be late, do you?" Leaf asks as Gary speaks.
"Well knowing Ash that's most likely going to happen" Gary responds with Leaf agreeing someone then speaks.
"Look it's the torch runner!" The voice says everyone turns to their left and see the torch runner off in the distance as they're looking Leaf speaks.
"I wonder who's running the torch this year?" Leaf questions as Gary speaks.
"Probably no one special" Gary responds as the torch runner gets closer everyone sees a young boy with spiky raven hair. As he gets closer everyone gets shocked looks on their faces as Gary and Leaf speak.
"IT'S ASH!" The two kids yell in shock as they along with everyone see Ash running alongside his Pokemon with Goodshow, Misty and Brock following closely behind in a truck. Ash continues to run straight ahead as he's running in the crowd he sees Gary, Leaf, Ritchie, AJ, Giselle (who has hearts in her eyes and tries to run alongside Ash, but Joe stops her), Joe, Jackie and Paul. They're all surprised to see Ash running the torch as he continues to run straight. After that Ash makes it to the stadium, he along with his Pokemon begin running up the stairs. When they make it to the top Ash along with his Pokemon see a big bowl to place the fire in Ash looks at it and speaks.
"Here we go" Ash says as he places the fire inside the bowl. The moment he does the bowl is instantly filled with fire. Throughout the Kanto region and the rest of the world there are many people watching Ash fill the bowl with fire. In Pallet Town Delia, Rose, Daisy, Oak, Mr. Mime and Ash's Pokemon are all happy for him. Ash and his Pokemon continue to look at the fire as they're watching Ash starts to see it take shape into a Moltres for a split second then goes away Ash looks at his Pokemon and speaks.
"For a second there I thought I saw Moltres I hope this means that it's giving us its strength for the upcoming battles" Ash says with his Pokemon nodding. After that Ash returns his Pokemon other than Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie they head downstairs to go stand next to the other trainers in the stadium as Goodshow speaks.
"Thank you all for coming I can tell that just by looking at all of you that you've all experienced and become strong trainers on your respective journeys." Goodshow says with the trainers nodding as he continues to speak.
"Now that the Moltres flame is in the bowl it signals the start of the Pokemon league, but the battles won't begin just yet. First seeing as you all have made it here, I want you all to relax and let your Pokemon rest. Also, I want you all to come back here in 2 hours as I've an announcement for you all" Goodshow says with the trainers nodding. After that the trainers all leave going to the trainer hall Ash meets up with Misty and Brock, they make it inside the trainer hall as they're looking around, they then hear a familiar voice.
"Ash, Misty, Brock!" The voice echoes the gang look and see Leaf running towards them at full speed. The 3 trainers along with their Pokemon get worried looks on their faces but Leaf stops in front of them and speaks.
"It's great to see you guys again!" Leaf says happily as she then gives them all hugs with the gang returning the hug and greet her Leaf looks at Ash and speaks.
"Ash I've to say you being the flame runner surprised me I wasn't expecting you to be the runner this year" Leaf says as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, I wasn't expecting it either but the previous runner hurt his leg so I asked Mr. Goodshow if I could be the runner instead" Ash responds with Leaf nodding as she speaks.
"That explains it also you should've seen Gary's face when he saw you running pass us, that had to have been the most surprised I've seen him it was funny" Leaf says while chuckling as Ash speaks.
"When I was running pass everyone, I took at quick glance at Gary I saw his face and it was funny" Ash says as he and Leaf continue to laugh Gary walks over and speaks.
"Should you really be laughing right now Ashy boy" Gary says making himself known as the group look at him Ash then speaks.
"Sorry Gary your face was just that funny" Ash responds as he and Leaf continue to laugh Gary smirks then speaks.
"Okay you can keep laughing that just means it'll be easy to take you down" Gary responds in a mocking tone and instantly makes Ash stop laughing he looks at Gary and speaks.
"What?! There's no way you'll easily defeat me the one who'll be easily defeated is you!" Ash states looking at Gary as the boy speaks.
"Heh looks like you're starting to get serious, but you shouldn't just worry about me all of the trainers here have also collected all 8 badges in the Kanto region and are on a similar or even higher level than us" Gary responds Ash then looks at the other trainers in the room he can feel just how strong each of them is Gary then continues to speak.
"Anyway, I'm gonna go rest in my room I'll see you guys back in the stadium later" Gary responds with the group nodding as they see him leave. When he's gone Ash continues to look at the other trainers and speaks.
"I hate to admit it but Gary's right the other trainers here also have 8 badges and have battled the same tough gym leaders that Leaf and I faced" Ash says with his Pokemon, Leaf, Misty and Brock nodding Ash then continues to speak.
"But even though they've also went through the same thing my Pokemon and I have been training hard for the past 5 weeks we've grown a lot and we'll win!" Ash states as Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie cheer Leaf then speaks.
"You'll have to get pass me first bro cause my Pokemon and I will be the winners!" Leaf says having a determined look in her eyes with Ash having the same look. The two kids look at each other then hear a familiar voice.
"ASHY KINS!" The voice echoes as before anyone can react Giselle crashes into Ash tackling him to the ground. Giselle also knocks Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie away everyone then look at Giselle hugging Ash as she speaks.
"Ashy Kins I missed you so much and you looked so handsome running the Moltres torch" Giselle says happily while hugging Ash as he speaks.
"It's….. Nice… to see you too Giselle…. Please…. Get off me" Ash says while struggling to speak the girl then quickly gets off Ash letting him catch his breath he looks at the girl as Giselle speaks.
"Sorry Ashy Kins I was just so happy to see you" Giselle says happily with Ash nodding. Misty, Brock and Leaf then walk over to them Giselle looks at them and speaks.
"It's great to see you guys again too" Giselle says with Brock and Leaf saying the same thing Leaf then speaks.
"Hey Giselle, where's Joe?" Leaf asks as Giselle doesn't know that's when everyone see a tired Joe appear he looks at Giselle and speaks.
"Why must you always sprint forward whenever Ash's in the area?" Joe asks while panting with Giselle saying sorry. Giselle then looks at Misty, she walks over to her and speaks.
"You seem to be doing well" Giselle says as Misty speaks.
"You as well" Misty says the two girls continue to look at each other until they smile and give each other a hug. When they break away from the hug Giselle looks at Togepi and speaks.
"This Togepi is it yours?" Giselle asks as Misty nods Giselle then speaks.
"It's so cute! Hello Togepi" Giselle says with the egg mon saying hi back. The group then see Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie walk back next to Ash the 3 of them glare at Giselle as Ash speaks.
"Are you 3, okay?" Ash asks with the 3-mons nodding Giselle looks at Riolu and Froakie then speaks.
"Ashy Kins are those two Pokemon yours?" Giselle asks as she along with Joe look at the Pokemon Ash then speaks.
"Oh yeah let me introduce you this is Riolu and Froakie. Riolu hatched from the egg I got from the SS. Anne and Froakie hatched from an egg I got from Prof. Sycamore in the Kalos region" Ash responds with the two-mons saying hi Joe then speaks.
"Whoa that's amazing Ash and they both look strong" Joe says as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, even though they're young they're both really strong" Ash responds with both Riolu and Froakie having proud looks on their faces. Meanwhile, Giselle continues to look at the two mons she then gets hearts in her eyes and yells.
"SO CUTE!" Giselle yells happily as she immediately wraps the two mons in a big hug Giselle then speaks.
"You two are precious I'm going to call you Rio Kins and Fro Kins" Giselle says shocking the group and Pokemon. As Giselle continues to hug the two mons Riolu and Froakie had enough they both break away from Giselle's hug then launch a Vacuum Wave/Water Pulse at her face. Giselle falls down laying on her back the group look at her as Ash speaks.
"Are you okay Giselle?" Ash asks as Giselle quickly stands back up (surprising the group) she then speaks.
"Yes, I'm fine I just absolutely love those two" Giselle says while looking at Riolu and Froakie making the two mons go hide behind Pikachu making the yellow mouse sweat drop. The group then chuckle a little bit as they hear another voice.
"Ash is that you?" The voice echoes Ash along with Misty, Leaf and Brock feel as though they've heard that voice before they turn around and see Jackie the group smile as Ash speaks.
"Jackie you're here I knew I saw you in the crowd" Ash says with Jackie nodding as she speaks.
"Yep, like you I was able to gather all 8 of the Kanto gym badges" Jackie responds with the group nodding as they then hear another voice.
"I should've known that loud voice was yours" The voice says the group turn around and see AJ along with his Sandslash next to him Ash then speaks.
"Hey AJ, I'm happy to see you make it" Ash says with AJ nodding the group then hear another voice.
"There you are" The voice says the group turn around and smile as they see Ritchie (with Sparky on his shoulder) along with a bipedal water lizard Pokemon next to him Ash then speaks.
"It's Ritchie and Sparky!" Ash says happily with the two of them saying hi back. Ash along with Leaf then look at the lizard next to him they get curious as Ash speaks.
"Hey Ritchie, who's this Pokemon?" Ash asks as Ritchie speaks.
"Oh, this is Bond my Drizzile he just evolved recently" Ritchie responds with the water lizard saying hi Ash along with Leaf take out their Pokedex's to scan it.
"Drizzile, the Water Lizard Pokémon a water type and the evolved form of Sobble. Drizzile places traps around it so enemies can't sneak up. It's very smart, but doesn't like being forced to do anything." The Pokedex says. Misty gets closer to the water lizard and speaks.
"So, this is Sobble's evolved form what do you think Sobble?" Misty asks the blue Chameleon looks at Bond with Bond looking at it. Sobble has a nervous look on his face but Bond smiles saying hi making Sobble happy as it says hi back with Misty smiling Ritchie then speaks.
"Hey Giselle, Joe and Leaf it's been a while" Ritchie says with the 3 kids nodding AJ then walks over to Ritchie and speaks.
"Hello, my name's AJ I watched your battle with Ash on the SS. Anne tournament and was impressed" AJ says Ritchie takes AJ's hand and speaks.
"Thanks, it's great to meet you too" Ritchie says Jackie then walks over and speaks.
"My name's Jackie I also watched your battle against Ash and hope we get a chance to battle each other in the league" Jackie says with Ritchie nodding. As everyone continues to happily talk to each other they then hear another voice.
"Ritchie there you are" The voice says Ritchie along with everyone else turn. When they do they see a boy that looks to be two years older than Ash with brown hair, Ritchie smiles and speaks.
"Harrison!" Ritchie says happily greeting the boy as Ash speaks.
"Harrison? Wait Ritchie is this the trainer you told me about?" Ash asks as Ritchie speaks.
"Yeah, this is Harrison one of my childhood friends" Ritchie responds as the teen waves hi to everyone with the group doing the same Ritchie then speaks.
"So, you've managed to gather all 8 badges too" Ritchie asks with Harrison nodding as he speaks.
"Yep, and my Pokemon and I are ready to win the league" Harrison responds as Ritchie speaks.
"Sorry to tell you this Harrison but my Pokemon and I will be the ones who win" Ritchie states with Sparky and Bond nodding Harrison smiles AJ goes next to Ash and speaks.
"So, Ash what do you know about this Harrison guy?" AJ asks with Leaf, Jackie, Joe and Giselle wanting to know as well as Ash speaks.
"Ritchie told me that Harrison is an incredible trainer and has a powerful Hariyama and Blaziken" Ash responds with the others nodding Harrison then looks at Ash. The teen walks over to him and speaks.
"I watched your battle against Ritchie on TV it was amazing I look forward to battling you if we get the chance" Harrison says while holding out his hand as Ash speaks.
"Thanks, I look forward to it too" Ash responds and takes Harrison's hand. The moment Ash does he feels just how strong Harrison is Ash then speaks.
"This feeling it's similar to the feeling I got with Calem" Ash says to himself the two boys then let go of each other's hands Harrison begins to walk away and speaks.
"Well, I'm off to my room see you guys in 2 hours" Harrison says with the group nodding as he walks away. When Harrison leaves Leaf notices Paul walking by and speaks.
"It's Paul!" Leaf says the group look at the boy as Paul looks at them. Ash and Paul glare at each other for a few seconds Paul then walks away as Giselle speaks.
"Who was that and why was he glaring at Ashy Kins?" Giselle asks as Misty speaks.
"That's another one of Ash's rivals named Paul he's a strong trainer who has battled Ash a couple of times and also has a bad attitude" Misty responds with Leaf nodding as Ritchie speaks.
"I can tell from just a glance that he's a strong trainer" Ritchie says as AJ speaks.
"Well, I'm happy to see that Paul's here if we face him, we'll make him use his full power and beat him right Sandslash" AJ says with the ground mouse nodding as Ash speaks.
"If anyone's going to beat Paul it'll be me" Ash responds with Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie nodding as AJ speaks.
"No way it'll be us!" AJ responds with Sandslash nodding after that Ash and AJ then get into an argument off to the side Misty speaks.
"There they go" Misty says with the others nodding. After that they all split off, going to their own rooms to relax for a bit. Giselle wanted to go to Ash's room, but Joe had to forcefully pull her away, making the girl sad. We come back to the gang they make it to the room that they'll be staying in Ash, Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie quickly jump and lay down on their bed as Ash speaks.
"Man, this bed is comfy" Ash says with the 3-mons nodding as Misty speaks.
"I feel like we can get a good rest here" Misty says with her Pokemon nodding Brock then finds an envelope on the table he picks it up walks over to Ash and speaks.
"Hey Ash, here's an envelope with your name on it" Brock says handing it to Ash the boy quickly opens it and finds the letter. Ash then reads the letter he smiles and speaks.
"It's from my Mom and Dad saying that they both wish me good luck" Ash says with Misty and Brock nodding as Ash continues to read.
"It also says that my dad will be at the league too" Ash says as Misty speaks.
"Does this mean he'll watch your battles?" Misty asks as Ash speaks.
"I hope so because I want to show him just how strong my Pokemon have gotten" Ash responds smiling with Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie nodding. Misty and Brock smile too as Brock speaks.
"We should probably unpack before heading back to the stadium" Brock says with Ash and Misty nodding as they all begin to unpack.
2 hours later the gang along with many trainers/audience members are currently sitting in the stands. Leaf along with Ritchie, Joe, Giselle, AJ and Jackie are with them as well they look around as Misty speaks.
"What do you guys think the announcement is going to be?" Misty asks but the group don't know they then see Mr. Goodshow appear on the stage he has a Microphone in his hand and speaks.
"Welcome everyone thank you all for coming I've 2 important announcements to make" The man says as everyone gets curious on what they are as Goodshow speaks.
"Before I announce them let's have Lorelai, Agatha and Bruno from the Elite 4 appear!" The man says as the 3 adults appear and walk next to him everyone in the crowd get shocked looks on their faces and begin to cheer.
"I LOVE YOU MS. LORELAI!" "MS. AGATHA!" "MR. BRUNO YOU LOOK COOL!" The crowd happily cheers as the 3 adults' wave at them Goodshow then continues to speak.
"You all may be wondering why 3 of the Elite 4 are here as you all know 2 years ago Lance left the Kanto Elite 4 and became the champion of the Johto region, so the Kanto Elite 4 has been called the Kanto Elite 3 instead" Goodshow says with the crowd nodding as the old man continues to speak.
"But after 2 years of looking we've finally found a 4th member" Goodshow says surprising everyone as Ash speaks.
"A new Elite 4 member? Cool I wonder who it is" Ash says with the group wondering too as Goodshow continues to speak.
"This person was scouted by Champion Blue after she helped with taking down the villainous organization of Team Rocket, she also once competed to become the new champion of Kanto before. Now let me introduce our new 4th member who's a grass type expert Rose Green!" Goodshow says when he does everyone sees Rose appear. She's wearing a green hat along with a green jacket she walks out of the hallway making herself known. She then happily waves to the crowd as they all cheer Leaf then speaks.
"IT'S MY MOM?!" Leaf yells in shock as Ash along with Misty, Brock, and Gary (who's sitting somewhere else) all have shocked looks on their faces. Everyone then see Rose walk next to the rest of the Elite 4 and Mr. Goodshow Misty looks at Leaf and speaks.
"Leaf did you know about this?" Misty asks as Leaf speaks.
"No, my mom never told me this but now that I think about it Mr. Blue did pull my mom aside before he left the party and was talking to her" Leaf responds with the group nodding as Ash speaks.
"My mom was also telling me that Ms. Rose started training a lot recently I didn't know why she was, but this explains it" Ash says with the group nodding as Leaf speaks.
"Still even though it's shocking to see that my mom is part of the Elite 4 it makes me more motivated to win the league and I'm happy for her" Leaf says the group nod they turn their heads back to the stadium they see Mr. Goodshow hand the mic over to Rose as she speaks.
"Hello everyone, my name is Rose Green like Mr. Goodshow said I'm now a part of the Kanto Elite 4 if one of you get the chance to win the league I look forward to facing you in battle and I hope you come at me with everything you got because I'm no push over" Rose states as the crowd let out a loud cheer making the trainers more excited. Back in Pallet Town in Oak's ranch we see Delia, Oak, Daisy and Ash's Pokemon outside watching the ceremony on TV Oak looks at Delia and speaks.
"Did you know about this Delia?" Oak asks as Delia speaks.
"I had a feeling as Rose was training really hard" Delia responds with the old man nodding as she continues to speak.
"But I'm happy for Rose for a while I got the feeling that she was missing battling for a long time so with this new position she'll get to battle as much as she wants" Delia responds with Oak and Daisy nodding. They continue to watch the TV as we come back to the stadium Rose hands Mr. Goodshow the microphone back as he continues to speak.
"Now with the first announcement out of the way I'll now reveal the second one but before I do let's bring out our champion Blue Oak!" Goodshow says as Blue appears smiling the crowd roars in excitement seeing their champion in the stands Misty speaks.
"Hmmm I wonder why Mr. Blue is here" Misty says with everyone else wondering the same as Goodshow speaks.
"Now you all may be wondering why our champion is here. Well, he along with the Elite 4 will be watching your battles in the tournament. Also, before the league begins, we'll hold an exhibition battle where Blue will battle a strong trainer can you all guess who that might be?" Goodshow says making everyone curious as they all begin to think on who'll face Blue in the stands Misty speaks.
"Do you guys think he'll face another champion?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.
"That would make sense" Brock responds Giselle looks at Ash and speaks.
"Do you know Ashy Kins?" Giselle asks as Ash smiles and speaks.
"I think I know" Ash responds with Leaf nodding making the group confused somewhere else in the stands Gary has come to the same conclusion too as Goodshow speaks.
"The trainer champion Blue will be facing is a legendary trainer who has saved the world from a great tragedy and has won many competitions in his time. That trainer is Red Ketchum of Pallet Town!" Goodshow says when he does everyone hears the sound of a Pokemon roaring. They look at the sky and see an Aerodactyl flying towards the battlefield. When the fossil mon lands everyone looks at the trainer who's on its back and see Red. Red smiles as the crowd roars in excitement.
"IT'S REALLY HIM IT'S THE LEGENDARY TRAINER!" "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!" "LET'S GOOOOOOOO!" The crowd roars in excitement while Red waves to them Ritchie then speaks.
"I can't believe it's really Red Ketchum" Ritchie says having a shocked/excited expression on his face as AJ speaks.
"IT'S HIM I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S HIM!" AJ says having an excited look on his face as Giselle speaks.
"I see where you get your good looks from Ashy Kins!" Giselle says as she begins to hug Ash shocking the boy everyone then hears another voice.
"YEAH, MASTER RED!" The voice echoes Ash, Misty, Brock and Leaf feel as though they've heard that voice before they look to their left and see Platinum cheering on Red. The group have shocked looks on their faces as they speak.
"IT'S PLATINUM!" The gang say in surprise as the woman looks at them and speaks.
"Oh, hello it's nice seeing you guys again" Platinum says smiling as Ash speaks.
"Ms. Platinum what're you doing here?" Ash asks as the woman speaks.
"I'm here to support my master of course" Platinum responds with the group nodding as Ritchie speaks.
"Wait you guys know Platinum?" Ritchie asks as Brock speaks.
"Yep, we met her 6 weeks ago" Brock responds as Ritchie nods Platinum then looks at the groups other friends and speaks.
"Are you guys' friends with Ash?" Platinum asks with Ritchie, AJ, Giselle, Joe and Jackie nodding as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, they are these are Ritchie, AJ, Giselle, Joe and Jackie they're also competing in the league" Ash responds with Platinum nodding as she greets the kids with them saying hi Giselle then looks at Joe and speaks.
"Joe are you okay? Your face is turning bright red" Giselle asks as Joe speaks.
"There's too much beauty in front of me" Joe responds as he faints while smiling Platinum then speaks.
"Is he alright?" Platinum asks as Giselle speaks.
"Oh yeah he's fine he gets like this whenever he sees a pretty girl/woman" Giselle responds with Platinum and everyone else nodding. They then turn their heads back to the battlefield they see Red return Aerodactyl to its Pokeball he then walks next to Blue, Elite 4 and Goodshow. As they're standing together everyone is in awe as Goodshow speaks.
"The battle between Red and Blue will be a 3v3 exhibition battle they will show you just how strong champion level trainers are" Goodshow says with everyone cheering Blue looks at Red and speaks.
"Hope you're ready Red because even though this is an exhibition battle, I won't hold anything back and beat you" Blue says having a confident look on his face Red looks at him and speaks.
"Heh we'll see about that" Red responds also smiling Rose then speaks.
"Save it for the battlefield you two" Rose says with the two men nodding as Goodshow speaks.
"Now then Red and Blue please take you're positions, and we'll begin the battle" Goodshow says with the two men nodding as they're about to walk forward they then hear a voice.
"Wait!" The voice says making everyone look at the entrance on the other side of the stadium. As everyone continues to look, they see a teenage boy wearing a black outfit, has black hair and is wearing a blue scarf. Everyone looks at the boy in the stands Misty speaks.
"Who's this guy?" Misty questions as Ash speaks.
"I'm not sure but from just looking at him I can feel just how strong he is" Ash says with Pikachu, Riolu, Froakie, AJ, Ritchie and Platinum agreeing. In the stands somewhere else we see Gary, Paul and Harrison who've also come to the same conclusion as Ash.
We now come to the Kalos region where we see Prof. Sycamore, he along with his assistants are currently looking at the TV watching the Kanto League ceremony. They all have shocked looks on their faces seeing the teenager appear Sycamore then speaks.
"Calem you need to see this!" The man yells as we see Calem and his shiny Greninja they quickly run into the room Calem looks at the Professor and speaks.
"What is it Professor?" Calem asks as Sycamore speaks.
"Look at the TV" Sycamore says while pointing at the screen. Calem along with Greninja look at the screen their eyes grow wide as Calem speaks.
"Is that Alain?" Calem questions as we now come back to the stadium. Alain has made himself known everyone looks at him as Goodshow speaks.
"Um and who are you?" The old man asks as Alain speaks.
"My name is Alain I come from Lumiose City in the Kalos region, and I request to have a battle with Red Ketchum" Alain states shocking everyone Platinum then appears in front of Alain and speaks.
"You brat you dare request a battle with my master?" Platinum asks while glaring at Alain in the stands Ash speaks.
"Wait when did Ms. Platinum get there?" Ash asks, having a shocked look on his face along with his friends. They continue to look at the battlefield as Alain speaks.
"Yes, I do now please move out of the way I'm not interested in you" Alain says making Platinum angry as she speaks.
"Why you little I'll teach you!" Platinum says she quickly grabs a Pokeball about to send in her Pokemon as Red speaks.
"Platinum stand down" Red says shocking the woman she looks at Red and speaks.
"But master he's being rude I need to teach him a lesson" Platinum responds as Red speaks.
"I understand Platinum but calm down you'll only make things worse" Red responds Platinum begrudgingly nods and puts her Pokeball away. Alain then walks a couple feet forward he looks at Red and speaks.
"So will you accept my challenge or not?" Alain asks as Goodshow speaks.
"Hold on right there first I have a couple questions 1. Why do you want to battle Red and 2. Do you have any badges?" Goodshow asks Alain looks at him and speaks.
"To answer your first question my goal is to become the strongest I view Red Ketchum as the strongest trainer in the world and would like to test myself against him. As for the second question currently I've no gym badges" Alain responds shocking everyone as Platinum speaks.
"You've no gym badges and you dare challenge Master Red just how arrogant are you!" Platinum yells in anger as Alain speaks.
"Even though I don't have any badges that shouldn't define just how strong I am as a trainer" Alain responds making Platinum have to agree Rose looks at Red and speaks.
"What do you want to do Red?" Rose asks as Red looks into Alain's eyes he can see that he's not leaving until he battles him, Red also looks at Alain's left arm he sees a Mega Ring and can feel that Alain is a strong trainer. Red then looks at Blue and speaks.
"Are you okay with not battling me today?" Red asks as Blue speaks.
"Heh, it doesn't matter to me we can battle anytime we want I just wanted to beat you in front of millions of people is all" Blue responds Red nods and smiles. Red then looks at Alain and speaks.
"Okay then I accept your challenge" Red says shocking everyone Red then looks at Goodshow and speaks.
"Is this fine with you Mr. Goodshow?" Red asks as the old man speaks.
"Yes, I don't mind as I'm pretty curious in seeing just how strong this trainer is" Goodshow says with Red nodding. Goodshow along with Blue and Elite 4 go sit in nearby chairs while Platinum goes back to sit next to Ash's group she sits down and speaks.
"Arrogant brat who does he think he is challenging Master Red to a battle I hope Master Red crushes him instantly" Platinum says in anger with steam coming out of her head the group chuckle nervously then look back at the battlefield. Red and Alain are at their sides of the battlefield they look at each other as Red speaks.
"So, what're the rules?" Red asks as Alain speaks.
"This will be a full 6v6 battle we're both allowed to make substitutions and whoever knocks out all of their opponents Pokemon first will be declared the winner" Alain responds with Red nodding in the stands Brock speaks.
"He's taking on Red in a full battle he must be confident that he can win" Brock says as Platinum speaks.
"Yeah, well Master Red will easily defeat him" Platinum responds Misty looks at Ash and speaks.
"What do you think Ash?" Misty asks as Ash speaks.
"I just think that it's going to be so cool to watch my dad in a full battle" Ash responds as Ritchie speaks.
"I agree this will give us a good opportunity to learn from Red" Ritchie responds with the others nodding back on the battlefield the ref speaks.
"This is a full 6v6 exhibition battle between Red Ketchum of Pallet Town and Alain from Lumiose City. Both trainers are allowed to make substitutions and whoever defeats all of their opponents Pokemon first will be declared the winner. If both trainers are ready please send out your first Pokemon!" The ref says as Red speaks.
"I'll go first Gengar I choose you!" Red says he throws the ball forward as the Shadow Pokemon appears. Gengar looks forward, it has a smile on its face the ghost then happily sticks its tongue out then gets in a battle stance in the stands Ash speaks.
"So, Dad's using Gengar first I wonder who Alain is going to use?" Ash questions with everyone else wondering the same. Back on the battlefield Alain grabs a Pokeball he looks at it and speaks.
"Go Metagross!" Alain says he throws the Pokeball forward as what appears is a big 4-legged Pokemon with a grey steel X on its face. The mon lands on the battlefield shaking it as it roars.
"Meta!" The mon lets out a loud roar creating a shockwave. It looks at Gengar with Gengar looking at it both mons have serious expressions on their faces in the stands Ash speaks.
"Who's that Pokemon?" Ash questions as he along with Leaf take out their Pokedex's to scan the mon.
"Metagross, the Iron Leg Pokémon a Steel/Psychic Type. With its four brains, it has an intelligence rivaling a supercomputer." The Pokedex says as Platinum speaks.
"Tch so he is smart" Platinum says the group look at her as Ash speaks.
"What do you mean?" Ash asks as Platinum speaks.
"What I mean is Metagross is super effective against Gengar as it can cancel out Gengar's ghost attacks and it also renders Gengar's poison moves useless since they don't affect Metagross. So, in terms of type I hate to admit it but it was a smart choice on Alain's part to send in Metagross" Platinum responds with the group nodding as Brock speaks.
"But Gengar can also use dark type moves along with a variety of other moves as well" Brock says as Platinum speaks.
"That's true too so while Alain sending Metagross in is smart I know that Master Red's Gengar can easily defeat it" Platinum says in confidence with the group nodding. They turn their heads back to the battlefield as the ref speaks.
"Now that both trainers have sent in their first Pokemon you may now begin!" The ref says as Red makes the first move.
"Gengar Dark Pulse!" Red calls Gengar quickly fires the dark beam at Metagross as Alain quickly makes a command.
"Metagross use Meteor Mash then Zen Headbutt!" Alain calls Metagross roars it points its two front legs forward covers its body in steel energy then shoots forward. Metagross easily passes through the Dark Pulse then covers its body in psychic energy. As it's about to hit Gengar Red makes a command.
"Gengar dodge then use Dark Pulse again!" Red calls Gengar narrowly dodges Metagross's attack by flying in the air it quickly turns around and fires the dark beam hitting Metagross making it groan in pain in the stands Platinum cheers.
"Yeah, Go Master Red Kick His Butt!" Platinum cheers happily back on the battlefield Alain calls for a command.
"Metagross use Rockslide!" Alain calls Metagross roars it quickly summons a portal above Gengar as big boulders appear they hit the ghost causing damage and make it fall back on the battlefield as Alain calls for his next command.
"Now Zen Headbutt!" Alain calls Metagross covers its head in psychic energy and shoots forward. As it's about to hit Gengar Red makes a command.
"Gengar dive in the ground to dodge then get under Metagross and use Dark Pulse!" Red calls Gengar narrowly dodges Metagross's attack and fazes into the ground. Gengar then appears under Metagross and fires the stream of Dark energy at Metagross's stomach. Metagross is then sent high into the air Gengar goes after it having its fist ready as Red calls for a command.
"Now Shadow Punch!" "Metagross use Rock Polish then dodge!" Both trainers call Metagross roars it shines brightly and sharply increases its speed. As Gengar goes to punch Metagross the Iron leg Pokemon quickly dodges and gets behind Gengar as Alain calls for a command.
"Metagross use Psychic!" "Gengar Protect!" Both trainers call Metagross fires the psychic waves, but Gengar quickly summons a protective barrier blocking the attack. Gengar's protective barrier then goes down as Alain calls for his next command.
"Now Zen Headbutt!" Alain calls before Red can make a command in time Metagross covers its head in psychic energy and hits Gengar. Gengar coughs in pain as both mons crash back on the battlefield, when the smoke clears Gengar's groaning in pain Metagross then lifts up its foot as Alain speaks.
"Now Earthquake!" Alain calls when Metagross goes to stomp its foot on the ground Red calls for a command.
"Gengar use Lick!" Red calls Gengar quickly shoots its tongue forward and licks Metagross's face. This surprises the iron leg Pokemon and becomes paralyzed. Alain grits his teeth while Red smiles and calls for his next command.
"Now Shadow Ball!" "Dodge Metagross!" Both trainers call Gengar quickly fires the ghostly ball it's about to hit Metagross but the iron leg Pokemon narrowly dodges. When it does Gengar then appears in front of Metagross it has its mouth opened as Red speaks.
"Now Dark Pulse!" Red calls Alain tells Metagross to dodge but it can't because of the paralysis. Gengar then fires the stream of dark energy in Metagross's face the Iron leg Pokemon groans in pain at the super effective attack as Alain makes a command.
"Use Zen Headbutt!" "Gengar dodge then use Shadow Ball!" Both trainers call Metagross covers its body in psychic energy and shoots forward going to hit Gengar. But Gengar's able to evade the attack making Metagross go pass it, Gengar then quickly fires a big ball of ghostly energy. It travels down the battlefield and hits Metagross making it cry out in pain as Alain calls for his next command.
"Metagross Psychic!" Alain calls Metagross roars, it fires a big wave of psychic energy it travels down the battlefield about to hit Gengar as Red makes a command.
"Gengar Phantom Force then use Hex!" Red calls Gengar quickly disappears and dodges the psychic. Gengar then appears next to Metagross and punches it in the face causing super effective damage. Gengar then summons purple dark wisps around its body then shoots them at Metagross. The wisp land causing Metagross to cry out in pain after a few seconds Metagross lays down on the battlefield knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Metagross is unable to battle Gengar is the winner!" The ref calls as the crowd gives a loud cheer for Red and Gengar as Platinum speaks.
"YEAH, THAT'S MY MASTER!" Platinum cheers happily for Red as Brock speaks.
"That was smart of Red having Gengar use Phantom Force to dodge the Psychic then use Hex to end the battle" Brock says as Ritchie speaks.
"Since Metagross was paralyzed, it made the Hex much stronger than it would normally be Red waited for his chance and took it" Ritchie says with the group nodding. Ash looks at his father and is impressed by him as he smiles. Back on the battlefield everyone sees Gengar float over to Red the two smile then high five each other Alain then returns Metagross and speaks.
"Thank you Metagross take a good rest" Alain says as he pulls out his next Pokeball he then sees Red returning Gengar Alain then speaks.
"So, you're returning your Gengar?" Alain asks as Red speaks.
"Yep, I'm letting Gengar rest for now and I'll send in this one instead Espeon I choose you!" Red responds he throws his Pokeball forward as Espeon appears. When the sun Pokemon comes out of its Pokeball it immediately gets into a battle stance Red looks at Alain and speaks.
"So, who's your next one?" Red asks as Alain speaks.
"Let me show you Malamar Go!" Alain says he throws the Pokeball forward as a squid like Pokemon appears it glares at Espeon with Espeon glaring back Red then speaks.
"So, a Malamar's next this could be tricky" Red says to himself in the stands Ash, Leaf and Ritchie take out their Pokedex's to scan the mon.
"Malamar, the Overturning Pokémon. A Dark/Psychic type. Looking at Malamar's luminescent body can cause one to become hypnotized and susceptible to the Pokémon's control." The Pokedex says as Brock speaks.
"Malamar are known to be tricky Pokemon Red will have to be careful" Brock says as Platinum speaks.
"Doesn't matter how tricky it is Master Red will defeat it Go! Master Red!" Platinum cheers for Red. Red looks at the stands; he sees Platinum cheering for him he smiles then turns his head back to the battlefield he looks at Espeon and speaks.
"Let's do this Espeon!" Red says with the sun Pokemon nodding the ref calls for the battle to continue as Alain makes the first move.
"Malamar use Dark Pulse!" Alain calls Malamar quickly fires the stream of dark energy as Red makes a command.
"Espeon dodge then use Quick Attack to run forward and when you get close use Dazzling Gleam!" Red calls Espeon easily dodges the dark stream of energy it then shoots forward reaching Malamar in an instant. As it's about to use Dazzling Gleam Alain makes a command.
"Malamar use Hypnosis!" "Espeon back away!" Both trainers call Malamar fires the hypnotic rings, but Espeon quickly backs away dodging the attack it lands back on the battlefield as Alain calls for his next command.
"Now Malamar use Nasty Plot then Trick Room!" Alain calls Malamar roars sharply increasing its special attack it continues to roar as it summons a room filled with psychic energy in the stands Brock speaks.
"This is bad now that Malamar has called for Trick Room it'll be a lot faster while Espeon will be slower" Brock says with the group nodding as Platinum speaks.
"That is true but look at Master Red's face he's not worried" Platinum says the group look at Red he has a calm expression on his face as he speaks.
"Espeon use Light Screen then Baton Pass!" Red calls Espeon roars as it summons 5 screens that turn invisible Espeon then summons a baton and goes back into its Pokeball as Snorlax appears. Alain grits his teeth while Red smiles in the stands Ritchie speaks.
"I see so Red knew that there would be no point in keeping Espeon in the battle as he knew Malamar was going to be faster. So, he had Espeon set up Light Screen to weaken any special attacks then use Baton Pass to bring Snorlax in as now it'll be a lot faster than Malamar" Ritchie says with the group nodding back on the battlefield Alain speaks.
"Malamar use Hypnosis!" Alain calls Malamar fires the hypnotic waves as Red speaks.
"Don't move Snorlax" Red says with the sleeping Pokemon nodding it stands still letting the hypnotic waves hit it. When the Hypnosis connects Snorlax yawns then goes on its back and begins to sleep. Everyone except for Goodshow, Blue, Green, Elite 4 and Platinum are surprised that Red let Snorlax get hit by the Hypnosis in the stands Leaf speaks.
"Why did Mr. Ketchum let Snorlax get hit by the Hypnosis? He should know that Snorlax don't wake up easily" Leaf questions as Platinum speaks.
"Just wait" Platinum responds having a confident smile on her face the group nod and continue to look at the battlefield as Alain speaks.
"This is our chance Malamar use Night Slash!" Alain calls Malamar covers its tentacles in dark energy it shoots forward and begins to repeatedly hit the sleeping Snorlax causing damage to it. Malamar keeps hitting Snorlax until Alain speaks.
"Now Finish it off with Superpower!" Alain calls Malamar's body glows bright red as it goes to hit Snorlax Red makes a command.
"Snorlax Sleep Talk!" Red calls when he does Snorlax's fist glow orange it dodges the Superpower then punches Malamar in the face using Counter. Malamar is then sent flying into a wall behind Alain, Alain looks back and can see that Malamar is groaning in pain but can still battle in the stands Brock speaks.
"I see so Red had Snorlax get hit by Hypnosis because he knew that he could counter with Sleep Talk" Brock says with the group nodding as Giselle speaks.
"But isn't Sleep Talk a move that makes the Pokemon use moves at random how did Red know that Snorlax would attack?" Giselle questions as Platinum speaks.
"Master Red has a strong bond with all of his Pokemon when Snorlax fell asleep it started clinching its fist and was faintly glowing orange building up the Counter. So, Master Red knew that's what Snorlax was going to use and just waited for the right time" Platinum responds with the group nodding they're amazed by Red as Ash speaks.
"I wonder if any of my Pokemon can learn Sleep Talk?" Ash questions back on the battlefield Alain has reached the same conclusion as everyone else he looks at Red and speaks.
"Not a bad strategy you made" Alain says as Red speaks.
"Thanks, I knew that Snorlax was going to use Counter, so I just waited until it was time to strike" Red responds with Alain nodding he looks at Malamar and speaks.
"Malamar return" Alain says returning the mon the Trick Room also goes away as Red speaks.
"Smart choice in fact I'll do the same to Snorlax. Snorlax use Rest and return" Red says with the sleeping mon nodding it goes back to sleep and heals all of the damage it took in the battle then goes back in its Pokeball. Alain pulls out his next Pokeball and speaks.
"My next Pokemon shall bring me victory" Alain says holding his Pokeball forward as Red speaks.
"We'll see about that" Red responds also holding a Pokeball forward the two then throw their Pokeball's forward and speak.
"Aerodactyl I choose you!" "Go Swampert!" Both trainers call Red brings out his Aerodactyl who lets out a massive roar creating a shockwave. Alain brings out a mudfish like Pokemon it roars as well then gets in a battle stance. In the stands Ash and Leaf take out their Pokedex's to scan the mon.
"Swampert the Mudfish Pokemon a Water/Ground Type. Swampert is a powerful Pokémon that can drag even a large ship, as well as inflict critical damage to its enemies with one blow." The Pokedex says as Misty speaks.
"It looks so Cool!" Misty says with hearts in her eyes as AJ speaks.
"In terms of type Alain has the advantage" AJ says as Jackie speaks.
"True but typing doesn't always matter, and Espeon's Light Screens should still be up which will allow for Aerodactyl to take less damage from Swampert's special attacking water moves" Jackie says with the group nodding they look at the battlefield as Alain makes a command.
"Swampert use Brick Break!" Alain calls Swampert quickly jumps forward, it covers its right fist in white energy and chops down. Swampert easily destroys the light screens then hits Aerodactyl on the head causing some damage and making Aerodactyl skid back. Aerodactyl then glares at Swampert with Swampert glaring back in the stands Brock speaks.
"That was smart of Alain to instantly get rid of the Light Screen with Brick Break now its special moves will do more damage to Aerodactyl" Brock says with the group nodding back on the battlefield Alain calls for a command.
"Swampert Hydro Pump!" "Aerodactyl fly in the air to dodge!" Both trainers call Swampert quickly fires the big stream of water. It's about to hit Aerodactyl but the fossil mon quickly flaps its wings and flies in the air dodging the attack Alain then calls for his next command.
"Swampert use Surf to propel yourself at Aerodactyl then use Liquidation!" Alain calls Swampert roars it summons a big wave of water and gets on top of the wave. Swampert then jumps off from the wave the mudfish covers both of its arms in water turning them into water blades. As Swampert is about to hit Aerodactyl Red makes a command.
"Aerodactyl use Giga Impact!" Red calls Aerodactyl roars it covers its body in an orange sphere with purple streaks then flies downward. Aerodactyl and Swampert then collide in the air Swampert tries to push Aerodactyl back but the fossil mon isn't backing down. Aerodactyl roars allowing it to break through Swampert's Liquidation it hits the mudfish and sends it crashing back down on the battlefield as Alain speaks.
"Swampert!" Alain calls when the dust clears Swampert stands back up it's fine but has taken some damage from the Giga Impact Red then speaks.
"Not bad" Red says to himself as he calls for his next command.
"Aerodactyl use Dragon Pulse!" Red calls the fossil mon roars as it fires a big dragon pulse at Swampert Alain quickly makes a command.
"Dodge Swampert by backing away!" Alain calls Swampert quickly jumps backwards dodging the Dragon Pulse letting it hit the battlefield causing an explosion. When Swampert lands Aerodactyl suddenly appears from out of the smoke it has its teeth covered in dark energy as Red speaks.
"Aerodactyl use Crunch!" "Swampert dodge knock Aerodactyl away with Waterfall then use Hydro Pump!" Both trainers call when Aerodactyl goes to bite down on Swampert the mudfish narrowly dodges by moving to the side. Swampert quickly covers its body in water then shoots forward and hits Aerodactyl in the face. Before Red can call for his next command Swampert takes a deep breath and fires a big Hydro Pump that consumes Aerodactyl making it groan in pain and pushes it back to Red's side of the battlefield. When the Hydro Pump is gone Red looks at Aerodactyl and speaks.
"Are you okay Aerodactyl?" Red asks with the fossil mon nodding that Hydro Pump did hurt but it can still battle Red then thinks.
"That was a strong Hydro Pump it would be best to switch out Aerodactyl for now and save it for later" Red thinks to himself he grabs Aerodactyl's Pokeball and speaks.
"Aerodactyl return!" Red says with the fossil mon nodding it goes back in its Pokeball as Red takes out another Pokeball instead, in the stands Ritchie speaks.
"That was good thinking on Red's part even though his Aerodactyl is strong if it continued to stay in against Swampert it might've lost" Ritchie says with the group nodding as Platinum speaks.
"I disagree even if Master Red kept Aerodactyl in it wouldn't have lost to Swampert" Platinum responds the group look at her as Misty speaks.
"What makes you say that?" Misty asks as Platinum speaks.
"If you've done any research on Master Red's Aerodactyl then you should know just how strong it is against water types not many of them can defeat it and it's even on par with Champion Blue's Blastoise" Platinum responds as Giselle speaks.
"If that's the case why did he switch it out?" Giselle asks as Platinum speaks.
"Simple Master Red felt as though there was no point for Aerodactyl to waste its energy on Swampert and would be best to save it for another one of Alain's Pokemon" Platinum responds with the group nodding they then look back on the battlefield they see Red holding a Pokeball he then throws it and speaks.
"Quagsire I choose you!" Red says what appears from the Pokeball is a blue amphibious Pokemon who has a smile on its face. Ash, Leaf and Ritchie take out their Pokedex's to scan the mon.
"Quagsire, the Water Fish Pokémon a Water/Ground type. Quagsire makes its home in clean freshwater lakes. Quagsire is covered by a slippery layer of skin, making this Pokémon especially difficult to handle" The Pokedex says as Misty speaks.
"It's so cute!" Misty says happily as Joe speaks.
"I wonder why he sent in a Quagsire?" Joe questions as Platinum speaks.
"You'll find out soon" Platinum responds with the group nodding they continue to look at the battlefield as Alain speaks.
"So, your next Pokemon's a Quagsire who also shares the same typing as my Swampert what're you planning?" Alain asks as Red speaks.
"The only way for you to find that out is by battling so come on" Red says with Alain nodding as he speaks.
"Okay here I come Swampert use Rock Smash!" Alain calls Swampert quickly shoots forward and punches Quagsire across the face doing damage and making it skid back. Quagsire can feel its defense decrease but is overall fine it looks at Swampert and opens its mouth as Red calls for a command.
"Quagsire use Hydro Pump!" "Swampert dodge!" Both trainers call Quagsire fires the large stream of water. As it goes to hit Swampert the mudfish easily dodges it then shoots toward Quagsire as Alain speaks.
"Now Liquidation!" Alain calls Swampert's arms become water blades. Red tells Quagsire to not move with the water fish nodding, Alain is confused at first but then realizes his mistake. Before Alain can tell Swampert to stop the mudfish jabs Quagsire in the stomach. When Swampert does that it sees its water blades being absorbed by Quagsire's body. Quagsire then glows green and gets a refreshing look on its face as Alain speaks.
"Tell me does your Quagsire have the Water absorb ability?" Alain asks as Red speaks.
"Why yes it does I figured it would be a good counter to your Swampert's water type moves as every time they hit Quagsire they'll be absorbed into its body" Red responds smiling as Alain speaks.
"I see well Swampert has other moves that aren't water attacks Swampert use Hammer Arm!" Alain calls Swampert's fist glows white it goes to punch Quagsire as Red speaks.
"I'm well aware of that too Quagsire dodge then use Aqua Tail!" Red calls Quagsire easily dodges Swampert's punch by bending backwards. Quagsire then spins covers its tail in water and slaps Swampert across the face with Aqua Tail causing damage and making it skid back. Quagsire opens its mouth as Red calls for a command.
"Now Acid Spray!" Red calls Quagsire quickly fires a ball of poison at Swampert. It hits the mudfish causing damage and lowers its special defense Alain then calls for his next command.
"Swampert use Iron Tail!" Alain calls Swampert roars it covers its tail in steel energy and jumps forward going to hit Quagsire as Red makes a command.
"Now Hydro Pump!" Red calls Quagsire quickly fires a big Hydro Pump that consumes Swampert and sends it crashing into the wall behind Alain. Alain looks at Swampert he sees it fall on the ground with no intention of standing back up the ref then speaks.
"Swampert's unable to battle Quagsire's the winner!" The ref calls with the crowd cheering loudly Red tells Quagsire good job with the water fish nodding in the stands Platinum cheers.
"YEAH, GO MASTER RED!" Platinum cheers happily while the group look at her, they turn back to the battlefield as Brock speaks.
"Having Water Absorb to nullify Swampert's water moves then using Acid Spray to lower Swampert's defense were very great ideas" Brock says as Leaf speaks.
"Yeah, Ash your dad is crushing it!" Leaf says happily with the boy nodding as he along with Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie continue to watch the battle he then speaks.
"Let's keep watching" Ash says with the 3-mons nodding back on the battlefield Alain returns Swampert telling it thank you he grabs his next Pokeball as Red speaks.
"So, are you going to get serious now?" Red asks Alain looks at him and speaks.
"So, you did notice to answer your question yes. Throughout the battle I was just observing your battle style now that I've seen it, I'm not holding anything back" Alain states with Red nodding as he speaks.
"Okay I'm interested bring it" Red responds smiling with Quagsire getting in a battle stance Alain throws his Pokeball and speaks.
"Braviary go!" Alain says as the eagle appears it roars then lands on the battlefield glaring at Quagsire with Quagsire glaring back in the stands Jackie speaks.
"It's now going to be a battle between Braviary and Quagsire" Jackie says as Brock speaks.
"Braviary has the aerial advantage over Quagsire as long as it keeps its distance it should in theory be able to win" Brock says as Platinum speaks.
"Doesn't matter Master is still going to win GO! MASTER RED!" Platinum cheers loudly hurting the group's ears except for Ash, Ritchie, AJ and Jackie they aren't fazed. As their focus along with many trainers in the stadium is on the battle they watch along with many people around the world. Red and Alain keep staring at each other the ref calls for the battle to continue as both trainers make a command.
"Quagsire Ice Beam!" "Braviary use Rockslide!" Both trainers call Quagsire fires the icy beam while Braviary counters with Rockslide as the two moves are about to collide the chapter comes to an end.

The chapter ends on a cliff hanger but don't worry Red's and Alain's battle will continue in the next chapter and the league will officially begin as well.
