A Mafia Bond
Chapter Six: Enough is Enough
Bella Cullen
It took a little effort on my part to get upstairs given the aching between my legs and the exhaustion after everything that had happened.
I headed straight for my bedroom and threw myself down on my bed, I gripped the sheets and cried out as it only seemed to make the pain worse. I then buried my face into my pillow and screamed. I couldn't believe what I had let Edward do to me. I could have just lay there and let the darkness swallow me but I just couldn't sink to that place of no return. I forced myself to get up and out of bed for no one else but me and my future. What mattered now was taking care of myself and assuring I got the hell out of Queens and far away from Edward. That day would come but for now I had to do the most difficult task of all and pretend everything was normal.
I left my bedroom and made my way to the bathroom where I locked myself inside and began to strip out of my clothes, being careful when taking off my trousers, staring down to see the blood and results of Edward taking my virginity from me.
I stepped into the shower and closed my eyes as I felt the hot water run down my skin. I stood there for a long time, the hot water fell nice and it removed his scent from my skin quicker than I expected. I lathered my hands up with shampoo and ran my fingers through my hair and rinsed it clean. I then took the sponge and poured the liquid soap onto it and began to wash myself, scrubbing every inch of me clean.
I stayed in the shower until the water ran cold and stepped out grabbing my towel and wrapped it around myself and unlocked the door. I was relieved when I saw no one was home. I didn't want to explain why I spent so long in the shower.
I got dressed and made my way to the kitchen, I opened the fridge and stared at the contents. I knew the schedule and my mom wouldn't be home for at least a few hours, I'd have to make dinner for the family, sort the laundry and straight up the rooms before everyone else returned home. So I began with the easiest task which was sorting the laundry and separating the whites, the blacks and the colors. I then placed the white items into the washing machine and turned it on and watched the clothes swirl round and round.
I then picked up the basket and walked down the hall to my parent's room. I reached down and opened the top drawer of my father's chest of draws and began to collect his socks and underwear. I then moved over to my mother's and began to pick out her skirts and blouses. I then moved over to their bathroom and gathered up the dirty towels and then took them with me. I walked into Edward's first and stared at the mess he had left, his clothes on the floor, magazines thrown around, his empty coke cans on his desk and a couple of dirty plates too.
I shook my head and began to clean up his mess, picking up his clothes and throwing them into his hamper then proceeded to collect the rest of the rubbish and took it back downstairs to the garbage can in the kitchen. I then returned and began to straighten Edward's room up. I made his bed and threw open his window and allowed the fresh air to enter. I then collected his dirty plates and took them downstairs placing them into the dishwasher. I then went back up to his room and began to dust and vacuum.
I worked quickly, knowing I didn't have much time as I had to prepare dinner. I walked back down the hall and into my parents room and began to remake their bed and folded back the sheets and blankets. I then walked over to the chest of draws and collected my mom's dirty clothes and took them with me.
I finished the rest of the laundry and once I put the last load into the dryer I began to prepare dinner. I peeled the potatoes and carrots and placed them into the pot on the stove then cut the meat and began to fry it in the pan. As they cooked I cleaned Emmett and Jasper's bedrooms which were easier to do as they kept them tidy and neat. I then returned back to the kitchen and checked the potatoes and carrots and began to drain them and then began to mash them up together. I took the roast out of the pan and set it onto a plate and began to carve it and then sliced it up. I then emptied the vegetables into bowls and placed the roast back into the pan. I began to set the table, the knives, forks, plates, glasses, salt, pepper and butter. I then checked on the laundry and took it out and began to fold it all and placed it into piles on the sofa. I then returned to the kitchen and finished preparing dinner.
An hour later my mom, dad and Emmett were home and they were already talking over me as I helped my mom with the ironing while reading my notes for history.
When Edward finally arrived home I avoided looking at him.
"Bella, pass me that skirt" My mother asked and I did as she asked.
"Did you clean the bathroom?"
"Yes"
"Thank you"
I glanced over at Edward who was sitting and discussing something with our father.
"Pass me the blouse dear" My mom said and I did as she asked.
"How was school today?"
"Fine" I told her.
"Anything interesting happen?"
"Not really."
"I bet you've got a boyfriend by now"
I rolled my eyes "No"
"Don't roll your eyes at me young lady."
"Sorry"
Edward cleared his throat then and I looked up, he was smirking.
"I'm going to take a shower" He said
"Hurry up, dinners almost ready" Our father ordered.
Edward nodded and walked past me, he paused a moment and I froze as he leaned down and whispered into my ear.
"I can still taste you."
I shoved him away and he laughed then as he made his way upstairs.
"Bella?"
"Huh?"
"You look flushed" My mom stated.
"I'm fine"
She reached out and touched my forehead "No fever"
I stood up and picked up my notes "I'll go set the table" I told her.
Edward walked back into the dining room freshly showered, his hair still wet.
"Food smells good."
"Yeah, well, eat up." Our father said.
I sat down opposite Edward and tried to keep my eyes on my notes and not on Edward.
"So, Bella, any boys in your life yet?" Emmett asked.
"No"
"A shame, I thought you'd be dating by now"
"Well, I'm not"
"I know plenty of single guys" Edward said.
I looked up at Edward then who was smirking at me.
"I'm sure you do" I snapped.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Emmett asked.
I shrugged my shoulders.
"I think she's jealous Edward has all the girls falling at his feet" Our father said.
"No" I said.
"I wish you'd date. Be nice for you to have someone." My mom said.
"I know how to cook and clean, that good enough?" I snapped.
"Watch your tone" Our father warned.
I stood up then, picked up my notes and my bag.
"Where are you going?" My mom asked.
"Out"
"Out where?"
"Just out!" I shouted as I stormed from the room and out the front door.
