Bella's POV:

Death seems to be a part of life. As you go through life it strikes unexpectedly.

First it took mom when I was three years old and now at nineteen it's taken my dad.

I was sad that he was gone but glad because now him and mom could be together again. He wouldn't be sad anymore, and that was something that made me feel better even if it was only a slight bit.

Following his funeral, the proceedings for the life insurance policy, and everything else began. I had started to feel so alone.

I thought I was alone, that I had no one besides my friends from school, only to discover that my father still had family in Italy, all of his family, in fact.

Upon finding out that there was a possibility that I could have family out there in the world, I didn't hesitate to book a flight to Italy, more specifically some place called Sicily.

I had to inform the school and my teachers about the situation, and they graciously allowed me to take my finals at home.

There was no stopping me. I had already packed my suitcase, gathered my passport and my other important trinkets into my large crossbody bag, and had rented out the parking spot for the next three months at the airport.

I set the flight for that Friday sometime before noon.

That morning as I got out of bed and went to have breakfast, before heading upstairs to shower. When I got out of the shower, I took my time, lather lotion on my skin, before I put on a pair of black leggings, and lavender, cotton, cold-shoulder t-shirt that had a twist at the bottom.

When I was done, I pulled on my socks and sneakers, before pulling my hair up into a messy bun.

I checked once more through my large crossbody bag.

The bag was large enough to fit my Microsoft Surface 2, and it's charger, along with my cellphone, my ipod, my Kindle, my wallet, and passport and ticket printouts, a zip lock full of tampons, an extra set of clothes and my small makeup bag.

As I checked it I noticed I had forgotten my keys.

I grabbed them and my jacket before I began to take my bags to the car.

When everything was ready, I checked around the house to make sure no windows were left unlocked, before checking the back door, and slowly making my way out of the house, locking the front door with the deadbolt and knob.

"Wish me luck, mom and dad." I whisper as I stared up at the clouded sky before heading towards my silver Toyota Camry Hybrid, and getting into the driver's seat.

As I drove towards the airport, I ignored the constant ping I heard from my bag, choosing to put up the volume of the radio instead.

When I finally arrived at the airport, I went to check in before taking my suitcase and placing it on the baggage carousel.

My flight didn't leave until eleven fifteen, meaning I had enough time to go to the bathroom, and head to buy some snacks for the flight.

When it was twenty minutes before the flight, I made my way over to the gate, handing the woman by the door the ticket before making my way to my assigned seat.

After finally sitting down, and getting myself settled in.

I made the mistake of checking the messages, it was Alice saying she was going to miss me but she understood why I was going. She hoped I would be safe and to call her if I needed anything.

It was that moment that I wondered if I was doing the right thing by coming here.
