It was here
The design that Raph has custom-ordered has finally arrived. And just in the nick of time as Mikey would be discharged from the hospital in a few days. In the original perspective, Raph has imagined that he would get Mikey a more tangible item for his gift, but he was proud of himself for choosing a more optical option.
In the end, a sweatshirt would be memorable, that would be true…but his was far more personal. And when it came to the young bright teen brother he had commonly dealt with every day, Raph knew one thing; Mikey loved personal gifts.
Even his brothers had chosen more personal gifts. They all wanted to make his welcome home memorable, cause overall, it has been way to long since Mikey has returned home.
Raph would've admitted to being a fool if he didn't say he was quite excited to finally have his baby brother in his constant sight again. And just home in general.
They hadn't been a true family for weeks.
But now that time had come to fix that, and if a few small gifts paid off in the end, then Raph would buy Mikey a gift every day.

The moment the front door rang, Raph went running downstairs. He opened up the door to see a package with the familiar Filly's crazy designs logo sticking in the corner, with excitement the older teen boy ripped open the package and smirked.
It was absolutely perfect.
Sitting in the large brown box was a large picture frame, on the canvas itself was a picture of Mikey smiling brightly. In the corners of the canvas were Mikey's three older brothers, each one held a paintbrush, they all watched Mikey with awe and open minds.
On the bottom of the canvas laid a small quote. It read, "Painting is a form of art, but its also a form of self-expression. And your paintings of yourself are perfect the way they are."
The color around Mikey and his brothers was a strong outline of orange. And the rest of the canvas itself consisted of a faint yellow texture.
It couldn't have described what Raph was trying to go for any more perfect. The way the simple paintbrushes were drawn to show the constant support that Raph and his brothers were constantly offering for their little brother, or the way that the colors mixed with each other to show happiness and self-discovery for the whole situation itself.
It practically beamed with the full rays of the sun. All he needed now was to hide it somewh-
"RAPH! I'm home!" Leo called out as he struggled with the bags of groceries. "Can you come help me put the groceries away?"
Raph set the canvas aside and ran down to help his older brother with his request. He walked in to see Leo putting a carton of orange juice in the fridge.
"Orange juice pancakes," Raph chuckled.
The eldest turned around and smiled. "Oh yeah, I remember that. Good times."
Those had been the times right before Mikey had fallen ill though, so in a sense it was the calm before the storm. But that was the past, and the Hamoto brothers were tired of relying on the past.
Raph grabbed the rest of the bags and looked through them, it was part of his favorite pastime. Leo had bought the usual: eggs, butter, milk, cereal, different vegetables and fruits. He had also bought lots of candy bags and different snacks.
"What are these for?" Raph held up the different bags of candy.
Leo smiled as he put away the cereal boxes. "Those are for the movie night on Friday. I thought it would be fun to have a movie night when Mikey comes home."
"Movie nights…its been a while since we've done one of those."
"Well, it's always that same, Mikey chooses the movie and throws popcorn until we are all throwing popcorn at each other. And then the movie ends, and Mikey's passed out and we bring him to his room while gossiping about his claim to stay awake through the whole movie." Leo raised his eyebrow. "And lets not forget how Mikey always chooses the same movie every time.
With what the young teen boy had gone through, Mikey deserved to choose the movie every single time. But that didn't mean that watching 'Princess Diaries' every Friday had started to get old.
"I swear if he chooses Princess Diaries again, I'm going to mentally die inside," Raph groaned.
Leo chuckled. "Well, I'm pleased to tell you that he probably wouldn't choose that one again."
"Don't kid yourself Leo."
"No, I'm not joking. And do you, my young brother, want to know why? Well, I'm honored to tell you that yesterday Princess Diaries 2 came out."
"Greattttttt," Raph muttered, he handed Leo the milk carton. "I guess it's the better option though."
The eldest agreed with a swift nod.
"As they say Raph…just go with the flow."
Speaking of going with someone's impulses, Raph had yet to show Leo the canvas he ordered.
"Hey Leo, you know how we're all getting gifts for Mikey? Well, mine came today and I really want to show you."
His older brother turned around and raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? Let me see it."
With excitement, Raph raced up the stairs and grabbed the box containing the piece, he ran downstairs with a bigger prep in his step. He placed the box on the table.
"Ok, so you know how we all got gifts for Mikey?"
Leo sat down. "Yes, I'm aware."
"Well, me and Oliver went shopping for a gift, but we couldn't find anything that screamed 'Mikey!'. But that's when I thought, 'maybe Mikey wants something more artsy'. And so, I went down to the Filly's Crazy designs."
"The art place by 5673 street?"
"Yeah! Though I only expected to get some knock-off paint brushes or something like that. But I saw that they made custom pieces, and for a good price to. So, I ordered one and it finally came."
It had come in relative time as well, to which Raph expected a good few weeks before it showed up. But it had only taken the artists two days to create such a masterpiece.
Raph flipped the canvas as Leo's eyes lit up. "This is amazing Raph!" Leo said softly. "I'm sure Mikey will love it."
"I hope so, I really put a lot of thought into this."
"Don't beat yourself up Raph, he will love it."
It wasn't the first time that his older brothers words hadn't impacted him. And it certainly wasn't the first time that Raph hadn't wanted to listen to him. But maybe Leo was right…maybe Mikey would love the gift his older brother had gotten him. Speaking of gifts….
"Hey Leo?"
Leo looked over. "Yes Raph?"
"What did you get Mikey?" Curiosity seeped in as Leo had always done things with a personal touch. But Leo's face dropped as he sighed.
"Leo? What did you get him?"
"Knock-off paints brushes."
