"Hey Athrun, can you cook?"
Kira had been staring at a kitchen pan for hours as if it were a physics problem and he was taking a test.
"I can't. Sorry. How about you?" came the response.
"N-neither can I."
Usually, cooking wasn't a problem for the boys. In fact, they almost never had to cook in their life. The food was usually already prepared by the time they got back or only needed to be microwaved if they were a bit late. Obviously, the girls were usually the ones that prepped their meals. Said girls were currently absent at the moment for what many of us know as a girls' night out. In response to this, Kira decided to invite Athrun and co to come over and hang out over a couple of drinks. As an added bonus, he was hoping that one of them could cook since he had no clue how to cook and due to how high taxes were everywhere at the moment, he'd rather eat at home than grab takeout.(Yes. Even the plants were going through a crazy tax season.)
"You're telling me that the ultimate coordinator can't cook?"
Shinn had been checking the fridge for hours to see if they had anything to eat but found nothing except some vegetables that needed to be thrown out. Like Kira and Athrun, he also didn't know how to cook and mainly ate takeout. He was also the only one other than Athrun who could make it to Kira's hangout.
"..."
"What?" asked Shinn as he pulled out some milk.
"Kira, let's prove him wrong," stated Athrun.
"Agreed."
It only took them less than 2 minutes to start their cars and head to La Flaga's
"So that's why we're crashing at your place, La Flaga. Kira and Athrun burned the place down trying to cook," informed Shinn.
The trio somehow managed to brave the flames, grab their most treasured belongings, and drive out of Kira's burning home to the only place that had a person who could potentially cook. Thankfully, the fire department managed to put out the fire while they were fleeing but to save face and prevent people from recognizing them, they didn't bother to head back to check on the damage while Kira prayed to God that nothing that belonged to Lacus was damaged and if something was, that it was replaceable.
The trip was short and the boys spent most of their time trying to come up with a reason to be let in just in case they were asked. None of them wanted anyone to know their embarrassing secret and the recent events that had occurred. In fact, the trio would have probably continued to argue until Mu La Flaga noticed them outside his house and went over to ask what had happened.
After several minutes of silence, Shinn decided to tell the truth. He figured they had nothing left to lose and if he had to choose between sleeping inside a house that potentially had good food or inside his car, the choice was pretty obvious. To his surprise, La Flaga didn't seem to mind and instead let them into his spacious and comfortable home.
"Honey! I think you should put up that sign now," yelled Mu La Flaga.
""Don't worry, Waltfeld already nailed it," responded Murrue.
Kira, Athrun, and Shinn turned towards the kitchen to see Murrue adding some finishing touches to a sign with Waltfeld. Once they moved aside, the boys clearly knew that they weren't welcome in the kitchen. In addition to several brand new looking utensils, there was a sign that read "Danger, MenBoys cooking."
Once the boys were done looking at Mu's kitchen, they turned to see Murrue handing La Flaga a note before exiting through the garage.
"Welp. I hope you boys are okay with microwave leftovers."
