She laid her head on the cafeteria table in which ever Arena they were in tonight, contemplating banging it at first but talked herself out of it. Keira Rose Holmes a 24 year old from Yorkshire in the UK was screwed and she knew it. A Christmas party fling that turned into a week long fling ending on New Years Day had changed everything. She worked as a social media assistant to the Superstars of WWE. Her dream job and now everything was ruined. The powers that be put her in charge of The Shield's accounts since they were the hot new thing in. Renee one of the back stage interviewers sat down across the table with her iced coffee watching Keira.
"They ran out of tea or something?" She asked in amusement. The two women had grown close over the 8 months Keira had been working there. Keira lifted her head slightly and smiled.
"If only." Keira sat back in her chair swigging from her water bottle that was sat in front of her. The boys weren't due at the area for another 30 minutes as she liked to arrive first to get shots of them coming in, getting warmed up and then the area getting set up. Fans seemed to like the behind the scenes content she did. Keira got up and motioned Renee to follow her which the older woman did following Keira into an empty dressing room which would soon be home to The Shied for the night.
"Keira, i'm not going to lie your starting to worry me." Keira caught her reflection in the mirror on the wall, her black hair pulled back into a pony tail like always while at work, under her eyes were dark showing that she hadn't slept well for a while and then there was her face which normally held a slightly sun kissed hue now was very pale. She would never call herself stunning but at 5ft 5 and a UK size 8 she looked good. Her best feature was her eyes which were a super bright blue made only brighter by her dark hair. Both features she got from her mother. Her parents had died in an accident when she was really young and she was raised by her Grandfather who passed a few years ago leaving behind a small fortune in the low 8 figures. It was enough to live on comfortably but she loved working and always kept that information to herself. She had a 3 bedroom house in Florida near the beach but while she was on the road with the boys she stayed in a 2024 Jayco Pinnacle 38FBRK RV. That was her pride and joy which she pulled with her truck that way she could get around in the truck and leave the RV parked at the area if she had to go out to get shots of the city or shopping. The Shield had sometimes driven with her in the truck, normally Joe or Roman as he was known would be up front with her while Colby also known as Seth and Jon who was also known as Dean would sleep almost the whole ride in the back seats. Due to this Joe and her had become close but not romantically as he was married with a beautiful little girl but more of a brother and sister relationship. He was the big brother that she had always wished she had and she was the little sister he had to protect from the big bad world.
"So, remember how i told you i hooked up with someone at the Christmas party and we spent almost every night together until New Years Eve where we agreed it should stop because we work together and it would get messy and add to that we were drunk most nights that week with all the party's we went to?" Renee nodded however the frown lines on her brow hinted that she didn't know where she was going with this. Keira grabbed her backpack and pulled out a pregnancy test box before opening it and pulling out two tests each with a positive sign in the window. Renee's eyes went wide staring at the sticks in her friends hand. "I took these yesterday morning, both positive and i've made an appointment tomorrow morning at local clinic to get it confirmed. Renee I'm not sure i can do this." The tears she had held in for so long started to make their way down her face. Renee took her into her arms and hugged her with as much love and support she could pour into the action.
"Keira, you are amazing and you will be an amazing mum. I'll make an amazing Aunt and i will help you as much as possible. Now, no arguing I'm coming with you tomorrow and IF you are pregnant then we go from there. Tests can be wrong all the time. So with possible conception around Christmas that would make you around seven weeks right? Who's the father?" The million dollar question. Nobody knows that we slept together and i wasn't ready for anyone to know.
"The father should know hes going to be a father before anyone else does. If he wants to be involved and he says i can i will tell you then but if he wants nothing to do with the baby then i wont betray his confidence. Thank you for the offer but i'd rather do this appointment on my own. Wrap my head around it you know? I've skipped a period and im late for this one so im pretty sure. I'm normally like clock work so deep down i've known for a while i just didn't want to admit it by taking a test."
The door swung open as the guys walked in laughing at something Colby had said. Keira quickly put the tests back into the bottom of her bag and zipped it up. Joe looked shocked that Renee was in their locker room but didn't say anything about it. "Ladies. If you were hoping to hide before we got here so you could watch us change im sorry to disappoint you but we arrived a little early since i drove and not Colby. If we followed the directions he was saying we would be in another state by now." The women laughed along with the men however Joe frowned as he took notice of how pale and tired Keira looked. "Hey you ok?" This caused the attention of Jon and Colby to study her. Great just what she needed. She was wearing black jeans and a Shield hoody that she has stolen one night from Joe when she got cold and refused to give it back. Although she knew they didn't know she was pregnant and wouldn't guess it either she began to panic. Irrational she knew that but it was still there in her head. After all the father to her baby was looking right at her and she needed to get her head round it before telling him. This would change everything for him. Even if he didn't want the baby he would still have a child out there with half his DNA that one day may go looking for him.
"I'm fine Joe don't worry about me, a little coffee and girl time with Renee and i'll be back to bugging you guys for pictures." Jon's lips turned up before nudging Colby wiggling his eyebrows up and down.
"Girl time eh? Can we watch and record?" Keira's head turned sharply towards him causing the 6ft 2 man to laugh more. "Ok no recording. We can still watch though right?" She rolled her eyes at Jon's normal behavior. 8 months ago when she started this job his sense of humor shocked her however now she normally found it funny but not at that moment. Too much was going off in her head making her begin to feel sick again. She had spent most of the morning on the floor of her RV bathroom refusing to get up until her stomach stopped churning. She grabbed her backpack and pushed past the guys heading for the closest bathroom she knew, which was just down the corridor. Renee rushed after her without a word understanding what was going on when she saw Keira's face get even more pale.
Joe smacked the back of Jon's head before walking after the girls but not before telling Jon he was an idiot. He stood by the women's bathroom earning him strange looks from both the WWE crew and the superstars who were arriving in car loads since most of them car pooled. At over 6ft 5 and his position as the power house of The Shield nobody would ask him what he was doing hanging around outside the women's bathroom. Hell if they did he wouldn't answer them anyway telling them to mind their own business. He could hear much due to the general noise from back stage but he could hear crying. Joe wasn't stupid he had noticed for a few weeks Keira seemed down and tired but how do you say to a woman "hey you look like shit" without upsetting her and getting either slapped round the face or at the very least shouted at. He had been both slapped and shouted at by Keira and he wasn't willing to go through it again. She had once slapped him because he took her phone when it rang and made sex noises into it thinking he was funny only to realize it was a work call and she got in so much trouble for it. Then when she had been stressed and running around he had stolen the last coffee and drank it. Nope not going there again but he was worried. Something had upset the woman he saw as a little sister and he being the big brother was going to protect her and kick the shit out of who had done it.
