Check 2 - Land is wealth. Money is a medium of exchange.

Suzue double-checked the information on her tablet. All was in order. And, if reports were correct, the Hamadas has just arrived at the airport. The view from the security camera showed some interesting looking luggage, a red case that didn't quite follow the usual design. Perhaps this was the famed robot Tadashi Hamada had created. Word was it went everywhere Hiro did. In a way, that made sense. Even Daisuke had someone to constantly support him behind the scenes.

From her tablet, she watched as a representative from the airport security team greeted the two travelers, providing a luggage cart to accommodate the two large suitcases and red case. Thanks to their connections, the Hamadas didn't need to worry about all the usual security checks, but customs was another matter. Thankfully, according to her records, both had active passports. And they could fudge some diplomatic immunity if need be as well.

Daisuke had opted to provide one of the smaller private jets. While he was not typically one to limit his showing off, Suzue thought it a wise move. It helped that the larger jet was currently in use elsewhere. After one more look around, she exited the plane and headed towards the gate and across the tarmac. Thankfully, no vehicles were necessary to bridge the space between plane and private sections of the airport, but part of her was tempted to call one over anyway.

….

Passport Control didn't take long, though Hiro's picture was slightly out of date, it having been taken when he was a few years younger. But they'd made it through without too much trouble. There had been a moment of hesitation when he'd become separated from Baymax, albeit in travel form. But that was remedied once they passed through and into the waiting area for the private gate.

Cass let out a sigh of relief as they entered the cooler air of the waiting area. The main areas had tried to keep things cool, but the larger spaces made it difficult. She watched as Hiro looked around. After flying with Stark, and Fred, the private wing wasn't as surprising as it could be, but not all gates were easily accessed by even someone of Stark's fame. Some were reserved for truly distinguished guests and she felt the difference.

To one side, almost as if they were in an executive lounge, sat a bar where various drinks were visible, along with different snacks. Hiro's stomach growled. Though they'd eaten a quick dinner before they'd left the house, his metabolism had kicked in, causing his stomach to demand more. At a nod from his aunt, he made his way over to see what they had to offer.

"Ms. Hamada?"

Cass jumped slightly as Suzue addressed her from behind. "Yes?" She colored slightly before calming herself.

The younger woman smiled. "I'm Suzue Kambe. Master Daisuke sent me to make sure you are comfortable on your journey. I take it that young man at the bar is your nephew?" She glanced towards Hiro and his mop of hair, which was currently moving up and down in some measure of excitement. That or he was trying to see over the far counter. The young man was on the shorter side. Perhaps he could do with some lifts in his shoes. She filed that away for later.

"Yes, that's Hiro," Cass confirmed. "I'm sure he'll be over in a few minutes. He felt a bit snack-ish." She couldn't help but wonder at the relationship of Suzue to her other nephew. The last names meant they were related, though that didn't necessarily mean the woman was any relation to Cass.

A typical teen then, Suzue thought as she watched the youth accept something that looked like a sandwich and cup of juice. The fact that he'd taken things all in stride so far was interesting to say the least. But then she had to remind herself that one of his college friends was also wealthy, just not the same kind as Daisuke.

Hiro approached them with sandwich and cup in hand. "Hey, Aunt Cass, they have coffee, if you're interested." He paused at the sight of Suzue, giving his aunt a side glance.

"This is Suzue Kambe," Cass introduced. "She was sent to escort us to Japan."

In typical teen fashion, Hiro acknowledged the introduction before heading to a place to sit down and eat. The fact that he was so energetic so late, in comparison to the night before, was a good sign. Chances were good he'd fall asleep on the flight though. She hoped to sleep during at least part of as well, since she'd heard it would make the jet lag less severe.

Cass gave a bit of a helpless shrug. "You'll have to excuse him. He's a bit stranger shy."

Suzue smiled, indicating she understood. "They're just loading your luggage now, though I did instruct them to place the red case in the cabin. I hope I wasn't being too forward about that."

"You're fine!" Cass assured as she followed Suzue over to the observation window where she could see the luggage cart approaching the jet. "In fact, it might be better that way. You see, that's Baymax, Hiro's healthcare companion. I guess you could say he's like Hiro's guardian angel and surrogate brother."

The younger woman nodded. Their assumptions had been correct. In a way, it made sense. The older Hamada boy had made the robot, and so it was an extension of him. And, post Tadashi's death, had probably been a great comfort to the remaining brother. Even if the robot wasn't unpacked, its presence was probably more than enough.

The earring in Suzue's ear beeped for her attention. A two-way communications device, she pressed her ear to activate her end. "Suzue here." Cass couldn't hear the voice on the other end but it must have given the woman some kind of instructions because Suzue was nodding. "We're about ready to board and will be on our way shortly. I'll have HEUSC update you as we get closer."

Apparently no further communication was needed as Suzue turned to Cass with a smile. "We're just about ready to board so it might be a good idea to gather the rest of your party."

Taking the hint, Cass went to collect Hiro, who had just finished his sandwich and juice. After taking care of the trash, the younger Hamada followed his aunt and Suzue to the actual gate, where an attendant met them to usher them to the aircraft.

Since it was one of the smaller available jets, Hiro took it all in stride. But no matter how many times Cass had ridden in one, she couldn't help but feel a bit jittery. The occasional image of Hiro unconscious and injured played in her head to this day, even though the jet they'd used at the time was much smaller in comparison. The mind was weird like that.

A short stride or two later, they were all entering the plane's main cabin. Leather interior met them, along with another attendant who helped them buckle into soft seats with more than enough leg room. In fact, there was more than enough room to pace if one felt the desire, once they were safely aloft. And the seats reclined, which meant sleeping would be much more comfortable than Cass had imagined. The last trip she'd taken in something similar hadn't been long enough to find out if all private jets were so equipped.

While they secured themselves, another attendant sealed the cabin door, and then went into the galley.

"Prepare for takeoff," the captain announced over the speakers while Suzue took a seat and strapped in.

Feeling more than a little nervous, both Hamadas exchanged sheepish grins as the plane moved into position for takeoff. Cass fervently wished for a piece of gum to help with the change in pressure, while Hiro stared out the window at the passing tarmac. The next thing they knew, they were in the air.

…..

Daisuke stood out in front of the massive, golden doors leading into the Kambe mansion. Thankfully, the awning kept the sun exposure to a minimum, as well as the deep walkway area separating the drive from the building. He was in his more formal attire of suit coat over a vest and button-down shirt, with dark slacks and a tie. His brown shoes were buffed and well-cared for, including the 5 cm lifts on the heels. Most of the time, he forgot they were even there.

If information from HEUSC and Suzue was accurate, his guests had just arrived on the grounds and would be pulling up to the doors in a matter of minutes. He took that time to double-check his cuff and collar links, smoothing his hair with one hand while double-checking his single earring. A black ball stud, the piece of jewelry was actually a communication device, similar to the one Suzue wore. A pair of thick-rimmed glasses sat in his inside suit coat pocket should he need the virtual screen it provided.

"How much longer?" he asked his AI butler. While he didn't show any outward signs of stress, internally, part of him was more than a little anxious. Anyone in their right mind would be. But it was important for him to remain unfazed, as cool and collected as possible. It was not just his upbringing that demanded it, but a desire to set the tone of this visit.

A car became visible just over the horizon as HEUSC reported on the eminent arrival. Chances were good Suzue had asked the driver to slow down in order to give the Hamadas a better chance of seeing the massive grounds. That or some unreported incident had occurred. He doubted it was the later.

Having felt a regular car not of sufficient size for three passengers and all of the luggage, Daisuke had authorized the use of the regular limo. Normally, it was reserved for more formal occasions, but it didn't hurt to show off a bit more.

Sunlight reflected off the wind screen as the vehicle in question crested the slight rise leading to the front doors. The driver pulled up under the awning before parking, killing the engine. He then went to open the main cabin, standing to one side as Suzue exited first. She was followed by the woman named Cass, then her nephew.

The two foreigners followed Suzue to where Daisuke stood. "Allow me to present Master Daisuke Kambe, head of the Kambe family. Master Daisuke, this is Cass Hamada and her nephew, Hiro."

At that, Daisuke walked the few remaining steps forward and bowed slightly. "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Welcome to my home."

Cass, unaccustomed to such formality, blushed. "Thank you for having us." She looked back at Hiro as she imitated the slight bow, probably to make sure he was showing proper respect. Daisuke knew it wasn't standard in the States.

Hiro, for his part, remained unfazed but curious as he looked at the massive gold doors. He remembered to give a return bow at his aunt's hints, though it lasted nowhere near as long. He seemed distracted by the driver removing their luggage and placing it on the curb behind them.

One of several doors opened as a suited man, similar to Fred's butler, exited onto the walkway. "Master Daisuke, all is prepared." He, too, gave a slight bow.

A partial smile tugged at the corner of Daisuke's lips as everyone stood, waiting to see what would happen next. "Please have our guests' luggage taken up to their rooms," he instructed.

Before the butler could pick up the red case, however, Hiro pounced almost protectively towards it, hugging it like a childhood toy. Suzue quickly moved to whisper in Daisuke's ear and he indicated for the butler to leave the teen and the case alone.

"I'm sure you're tired after your long flight," Daisuke said, addressing Cass. He indicated for both of his guests to precede him into the main foyer.

Cass craned her neck as they entered, trying to take it all in. "Actually, we slept on the plane, though I wouldn't mind the opportunity to freshen up. Hiro?" she glanced behind her for her nephew, who was lugging the red case behind him.

Daisuke chose to ignore the breech of protocol and looked to Suzue instead. "Would you please show our guests to their rooms?"

Suzue rocked on her heels a bit, hands behind her back, much like the Doctor might have done. "Of course, Master Daisuke." She turned to give nephew and aunt a smile. "If you'll follow me."

Assured his guests were well-taken care of for the moment, Daisuke turned on his heels and headed to the elevator on the far side of the room. He noted, out of the corner of his eye, Suzue leading the Hamadas towards the other visible elevator.

Somehow their luggage had already made it up to their respective rooms by the time Suzue ushered them into the first of two suites. They reminded Hiro of the room he'd used at Stark Tower, except that there was a connecting door between the two bedroom parts. All things considered, he thought it a good thing.

"I'll let you both get settled in," Suzue said with another slight bow from the doorway. "Take your time. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. HEUSC keeps an eye on the entire mansion, and there are plenty of servants if you need something." She closed the door behind her as she left the room.

Hiro mulled over the name HEUSC, recalling hearing Suzue mention the name once or twice on their way over. He correctly assumed it must be similar to JARVIS and so chose to push the thought out of his mind for the time being.

The room both Hamadas stood in was on the large size, though not uncomfortably so. Cass moved to the door they'd been told joined the two suites, opening it into a slightly larger, more feminine-looking room. Another door was visible from there, which probably led to the bathroom. It reminded her of a really fancy hotel. Her suitcase was visible from the doorway, waiting next to the bed.

Baymax's case stood at Hiro's feet, quietly reminding them all that the robot hadn't been activated in almost twenty-four hours. There really hadn't been a need on the plane, especially not when Hiro had dozed off shortly after takeoff, leaving Cass the only of the two to remain awake for several more hours while she took the opportunity to read a thrilling monster novel. And since Hiro's sleep hadn't indicated any night disturbances, she hadn't felt a need to activate the vinyl companion.

"I'm going to shower," Hiro announced as he left the case in the middle of the floor and headed to his actual luggage. He set it on a low chest of drawers, popping open the latches. Hidden beneath a layer of clothes sat not only his but Baymax's armor. Thanks to a new design, he'd been able to shrink down Baymax's iconic red suit to a more packable size. But he'd still had to use the larger of the two suitcases Cass had available. His reasoning was one never knew when one might want it and Cass hadn't talked him out of it.

His aunt gave a nod. "I think I'll do the same," she stated. "You sure you'll be all right for a bit?"

The teen rolled his eyes. "How much trouble can I get in? It's not like previous trips where some weird organization was out to kidnap me, or blow up a sports arena." Mentally, he crossed his fingers. Trouble did have a tendency to find him when he traveled. There was no denying that. But in a place that was so obviously choked full of tech, he doubted anything too crazy would happen. He could feel the hum of all the security features without even trying.

Taking his words at face value, Cass excused herself, closing the door between them. Though not always privy to his attempts at meditation, she was more than aware that Hiro had been working on somehow mastering the disturbances that had started plaguing him once he'd turned sixteen. There hadn't been many since they'd gotten home from that Los Angeles terrorist incident, but she couldn't be sure there hadn't been any at all either. But it was good that he seemed to have a better handle on them, especially since Loki wasn't there to help guide him through them like he had at Stark's California mansion.

With the door closed between them, Hiro's first order of business was finding his tooth brush, something that took a little digging. He found it wedged between his shoulder guards and Baymax's chest piece. The next thing was digging out his toiletry bag, along with a fresh change of clothes. While he didn't mind wearing the same thing several days in a row, his aunt had encouraged him to bring enough clothes to change into a fresh outfit every day.

Since they were trying to make a good impression, or at least not a bad one, on relatives he hadn't even known existed until a week ago, Hiro couldn't fault her for the request. So he pulled out a clean outfit and set it on the bed while he contemplated waking Baymax before or after he'd had a chance to wash. After a few more seconds' hesitation, he decided against activating the robot until after he felt a bit more human himself. Gathering his belongings, he headed to the bathroom on the far side of the suite, feeling the difference in the electrical currents more than seeing them. Even water gave off some energy.

….

Suzue entered the control room to find Daisuke standing in front of the bank of monitors, one hand to his chin in thought. "Master Daisuke?" He'd removed his suit coat somewhere along the way. "I've left the Hamadas to freshen up, though I don't know how long they'll take."

The twenty-eight-year-old head of the Kambe family didn't so much as turn as he contemplated the images on the screen. While he was technically taking the week off, he still felt a need to keep up to date on what Katou was doing on his end. The two had recently taken down another black market dealer trying to sell Adollium to the highest bidder. And even though the substance was now out in the open, the process for creating it was still technically patented, a patent his family owned. Legit companies had permission to wiggle around with it, but there was no reason to allow brigands the use of his parents' discovery.

"It's fine," Daisuke assured. He was in no hurry to leave the current room. "Katou's uncovered another potential black market dealer. I was just doing some research to pass on to him."

Suzue gave him a slightly disapproving look. "You're supposed to be taking some time off," she admonished. "Shouldn't you be more worried about your guests?"

He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "There's nothing I can do while they're otherwise occupied. I might as well make some use of my time."

There was truth in that statement and Suzue knew it. But it concerned her that her master didn't seem to know the meaning of taking time off, even when he was supposedly doing it. The last time he'd taken a day off hadn't exactly been restful, as far as she would tell. But the world didn't sleep just because the head of the Kambe Group did. "Understood. What can I do to help?"
