On Flower Fruit Mountain MK was training with Monkey King. "You call this a training session?" She strained, dodging Monkey king and blocking his attacks. Her eyes widened, raising her staff above her head, keeping the Great Sage from hitting her.
"Ha! I've barely broken a sweat!" MK grinned. "Battle's no place to be arrogant, gotta stay humble." He warned her, hands behind his back.
He backflips off the staff, making MK scoffed wholeheartedly. "You? Humble?" She dashes forward, swinging and slamming her staff on the ground, extending it.
She threw a quick succession of attacks, Monkey king dodging all of them. Monkey king is then backed into the ledge of a cliff, looking behind him, turning back to see MK leap into the air.
"Ha! Who's gotta be humble now?!" She exclaimed, swinging her staff. Monkey King smirks, leaping into the air, kicking the end of the staff. "Still you." MK yelps, being launched back by the force of the Monkey King's kick.
Meanwhile, the staff was thrown into a mountain. "Oh boy." MK flails her arms, getting crushed by fallen rocks. MK groaned, two shadows loomed over the delivery girl, MK looked up to see the twins, Rumble and Savage looking down at her. "So How'd I do?" She asked.
"You got knocked the-" Savage was cut off when Rumble shot him a glare. "Never mind."
Monkey King summons his somersault cloud, arms behind his back, floating towards the rubble. "Okay, class commencing," He pulled MK out of the rubble with his tail.
"How'd I win?" He asked her.
"Uh, you buried me under a rockslide?"
"Yeah, But why were you standing in the way of the rockslide?"
"Because you put me there!" Monkey king was quick to deny her, ruffling her hair. "I got you where I wanted you, by putting myself where you wanted me," He smirked. "It's called misdirection."
"Hmph, like a shady lesson." MK grumbled with a deadpanned expression.
"Too soon, sweetheart." Monkey King grumbled.
MK looked around the mountain to see the Shadow Monkey was no where around. "Um, say where's Macaque?" She asked. Monkey King went silent for a moment, rubbing the back of his his, sighing. "He's...trying to heal his spirit." He pointed over to see his husband staring off into the sunset under the peach tree with the baby monkeys.
"The both of us are."
MK held a sad look on her face, she then glanced over to the viewers.
"Remember Bai-He, the little girl I met who turned out to be Monkey King's kid? Well, she was...taken."
Somewhere farther away in the city after defeating the Demon Bull King, twice. A blue smoke filters down the sidewalk. In the alleyway, Bai-He was trying to reach for a kitten.
"Kitty! Come on kitty! It's okay I won't hurt You!" She whined, unable to reach for the feline.
"C'mon, Father and Bába are going to be upset once they finds out we snuck out." Savage complained, tapping his foot, Rumble nodding in agreement.
"Just a second, I've almost got him!" She tried reaching for the kitty. Unknown to the trio, the blue smoke crawls dauntingly towards them—mostly her. "No, no, no, no!" The cat hops off from the sign onto the wall behind it, making the mortal sighing in disappointment.
Savage's ears twitched, hears eerie whispering, he turns to the source and gasps. "Sis, look out!!" He cried out.
"Huh?" Bai-He looks over her shoulder, confused to what he's talking about, The blue smoke suddenly appears, She screamed in terror as it attacks her, seeping through her skin.
Bai-He grunts, gasping for breath, trying to fight off the strange smoke. Her black hair became ghastly white, her warm ivory skin, turning pale as a sheet.
The twins just stared in terror as their sister's eyes changed from auburn eyes to a glowing blue as she laughs evilly.
"And, we've been unable to find her. And I think it's doing a real toll of poor Macaque."
"Hey, what if...what if I went over there and talk to him?" She offered. Wukong shrugged his shoulders.
"I dunno bud, I tried earlier but, didn't work. But if that's what you want, go right ahead." He looked down at the twins. "C'mon you two, let's get lunch ready. The festival is going to start soon." They both cheered as he brought them inside the cabin.
"Um, Macaque?"
The Shadow Tricker turned around to see MK behind him. "Oh, hey kid. I Uhh...was just looking at the horizon." He forced a fake smile on his face, petting the monkey that was lying on his lap, although face wasn't very convincing.
"Um, Macaque...are you, okay?" She asked the shadow simian, even though she already knew the answer. "Monkey King is worried about you, even Rumble and Savage are."
Macaque was silent but his heart ached, his kid was gone...taken by an unknown spirit. And he couldn't have done nothing about it.
He sighed, burying his face in his hands. "I...I just..." he fumbled with his words, trying not to loose it. "I swore to her that I'd never let anything happen to her again, And...I-I failed," he stammered, trying to hold back the tears that was forming in his eyes. His voiced cracking with guilt.
MK immediately pulled the monkey close into a hug, holding the monkey's side and shook her head. "Mr Macaque, i know me and you haven't known each other that long and I understand you're hurting. I miss her too," She held onto him tighter. "And I promise you, no matter what I'll help you get her back."
After saying that, MK's embrace loosened a bit to give the guy some space but to her surprise, she was immediately wrapped in into another hug.
The two hugged for what felt like hours and just allowed their emotions to flow like the river. After a while, they pulled back from one another. "You're okay princess," he smirked, ruffling up her hair, making her giggle. "Your okay."
MK nodded, she got up and tugged on his arm excitedly. "C'mon, the fireworks are gonna start soon. And Monkey King made treats!"
Macaque raised an eyebrow. "Wukong actually cooked? Oh it must be the end of the world." He joked, making her laugh.
"I heard that!"
