CHAPTER 6: Office of Hallucinations

Koa stood in front of the door to the Counselor's Office, looking up at the large building. CatNap's hunting grounds. Her anxiety was through the roof, but she somehow managed to keep herself under control. She breathed slowly to calm herself down.

This is it. Pay attention to your surroundings, Koa. Never let your guard down, she thought to herself. Before stepping further, she prayed, Lord, please protect me. Please protect DogDay. Let this nightmare end. Give me strength and courage. You are with me. I trust in You. I thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

She made the Cross on her head, chest and shoulders a few times for extra measure. She gave one big, final sigh, and stepped forward, pulling the key from her pocket. She unlocked the door, and entered the Counselor's Office.

So far, so good, Koa thought to herself as she reached the end of the hallway, searching for a battery. This building seemed to have extra security as practically every door, aside from the office doors, required a battery to open. Along the way, she found two more VHS tapes: One was an emergency broadcast that aired at 11:01 AM on August 8th, 1995, the day the employees went missing. The other was a tape of a couple trying to adopt a child, but the child, unbeknownst to the couple and Stella Greyber, the head of the adoption program at the factory, was labeled a test subject.

Just sick! 'For the study of science' my hide! More like playing God, if you ask me, Koa thought to herself as she continued. During her search for a battery, she saw one on the other side of a room through a hole in the wall, but there was a problem: it was full of Red Smoke. Just as she was reaching for her gas mask, she heard a small noise coming from inside. It sounded like coughing. She looked up and saw a mini Bonzo Bunny toy appear out of the thick gas, coughing and weakly clapping his cymbals. A few seconds later, the little toy bunny collapsed unconscious. Before Koa could pity him, CatNap suddenly came out of nowhere and snatched the little toy in his large, smiling mouth! Koa ducked in fear with a small gasp, hoping CatNap didn't see her. When he didn't reappear, she sighed in relief, but decided against going in the room. Instead, she fired her Grab-Pack's blue hand towards the battery and managed to successfully grab the battery. Placing the battery in the socket for the door she wanted to open, the door unlocked and she continued her quest.

Eventually, she found the safeguards for the generator in the caverns under the Counselor's Office. After a few tries, she managed to successfully reroute the power so she could turn the generator on. After that was done, she found the generator and turned it on with no problem, or unwanted surprises.

Now I just have to get out of here, plug in the cord, divert the gas, and then DogDay and I can finally get out of here! Koa thought to herself. As she worked her way back up into the Counselor's Office, she noticed her vision was starting to go red and she felt lightheaded. OH NO! She immediately grabbed the gas mask and put it on, her vision immediately clearing and her head feeling better. CatNap must have finally noticed my presence. There's more Red Smoke in here than when I first arrived! I have to speed this up!

Once back inside the Counselor's Office, Koa worked her way back to the entrance, her flare gun ready to limit CatNap's hiding spots. She even traveled through the building's vents to avoid CatNap and bypass the locked doors. After a while, she recognized the front halls of the building. So close! I just need a battery! Looking through several different offices, she managed to find a battery laying on the floor in an office at the end of the hall. She grabbed it, and walked out the door.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, CatNap pounced right on top of her, roaring right in her face and swiping at her, knocking her down and ripping the gas mask off her face. Koa screamed in fear and pain, diving away from CatNap and back into the office to get away. The sudden attack caused a large locker in the room to fall over and push the door shut, blocking CatNap from following. Suddenly, before Koa could even process what had happened, Red Smoke filled the room through the air vents. Oh crap! Koa was too late to try and hold her breath, as her vision clouded over red, and she lost consciousness quickly.

"Find the flower. Find the flower." Koa heard Poppy whisper. Koa found herself standing on the road that led to Playtime Co., she was able to look around, but was unable to move her legs.

"This isn't a place you come back from." She heard Poppy whisper. Suddenly, Koa was floating through a tunnel of thick, red clouds. The scene shifts to her standing in the factory's lobby.

"Do you have any idea what you're doing?" Poppy asked rhetorically.

Koa stood still, not that she could move much anyway, but even if she could, she was paralyzed with fear. She was moving through the red clouds again and the scene shifted to Home-Sweet-Home. The silhouettes of children were running all around her, and she could hear their laughter.

"Do you know what's happened here?" Poppy asked her.

Koa couldn't speak up. She had figured out what was happening and wanted to speak, but she couldn't. She floated through the clouds again and the scene shifted to the ruined school, but the silhouettes of children were sitting in desks.

"Do you know who we once were?" Poppy asked, her voice growing more sinister, and Koa's anxiety increased more and more with what was happening.

She floated through the clouds again and found herself in the Playhouse where the Mini Smiling Critters were chasing her. But this time, instead of the Critters, the silhouettes of children could be seen playing.

"Do you know why we have to end this?"

The scene changed again from the clouds to an office in the Counselor's Office, everything around her growing intense.

"Do you even know what's real?"

The scene changed again, but instead of finding herself somewhere in Playtime Co., everything around her was black. Right in front of her, was Huggy Wuggy, standing like he did when she first entered the factory, only this time, his smiling mouth was wide open, showing his two rows of pointed teeth. This time, Koa could not hold in her fear. She started to hyperventilate, wanting to run, but she still couldn't move.

"No. You don't." Poppy said with venom in her voice.

Huggy Wuggy then disappeared from view. Next thing Koa knew, alarms were blaring and people were screaming in fear and pain. Despite the loud blaring, the ringing of a phone could be heard. Koa found herself standing right in front of where Huggy once stood in the factory's lobby, and everything around her was red. Suddenly, something forced her to look up. Out of the red shadows, the huge, needle-fingered hand of The Prototype reached right for her…

Koa sat up as she awoke with a yell. She was panting and sweating from the vivid nightmare. She gasped in pain as her left shoulder was screaming in pain. When she brought her right hand to her shoulder, she yelped in pain, immediately removing her hand from her shoulder, noticing a lot of blood on her hand and arm brace. When she looked at her shoulder, she saw her shoulder and shirt were soaked in blood. CatNap's claws must have scratched her when he ambushed her. Before she could collect herself, the phone she used to talk to Ollie started ringing. She quickly pulled it out and answered it. Just as she made the first syllable of Ollie's name…

"LEAVE PLAYCARE, OR I'M COMING FOR YOU."

The Counselor's Office. The lion's den. CatNap's hunting grounds. Koa has fallen victim to CatNap once again, and this time, she has been injured.

This chapter was a bit tricky for me. I tried to include as much as I could in this chapter for when the player ventures into the Counselor's Office without making it too long, while at the same time, have it make sence and include important parts.

If you feel anything needs added or if I missed anything in this part, feel free to tell me in the comments.

I'm going to point it out, I am a person of faith. I am a devoted Christian, and I'm not ashamed of it.
