Now onto the story.

Emotional Conflict
Praying that their efforts would pay off, with the rest of their families and beloveds staying nearby, but not getting too close yet, the remaining Avengers, Black Panther, White Tiger, Wasp, Blue Bullet, Batgirl and Speed Demon, all approached the area they had got the alert from. They were relieved to see they were in fact in time, for there was Jake, still in that black suit, clearly still on edge and certainly not having got any rest since they last saw him.
'Jeez, how is he even still standing, wait, what the-' Black Panther wondered.
To his shock Jake wasn't alone, lying in groaning heaps on the ground were several thugs, all of them looked like Fisk's men. But the damage that had clearly been done to them.
"What the hell!?" White Tiger cried out. "What have you done!?"
Jake turned around and narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing here?! Come to get in my way!"
"No, we're here to get you to see sense, don't you see what you've done!?" Wasp called out.
Jake growled. "I've done what I should've done a long time ago, these monsters will think twice before hurting anyone else. Don't you see, if I hadn't embraced this new power, how could I possibly have taught them a lesson, how could I have possibly even saved the people I've saved...it's always been a problem, even when we split up, we can't save everyone, but now I can-"
"No, you're not helping, you're making things worse. You're getting worse." Black Panther snapped. "How long until you end up going off the deep end and-"
He was cut off when he was suddenly slammed by one of the suit's tentacles.
Jake was breathing heavily, angry and finally he startled them by launching a pair of impact webs. Wasp cried out as she was hit while White Tiger only narrowly dodged.
"YOU DARE, YOU DARE QUESTION THE HERO!" Jake roared. "I see you'll have to pay for getting in my way, you don't realize how important this is, how much more I can do."
"This isn't you." Blue Beetle cried out. "What's so heroic about nearly killing guys that don't stand a chance against you."
Batgirl also added. "You always told us how our powers were a responsibility and we had to remember our limits."
"Yet with this suit I have no limits, why can't you see that, why can't you EMBRACE that!?" Jake shot back.
Before he could push things any further he suddenly had to dodge as White Tiger attacked.
"WHAT?!" He cried, as did the others, including Black Panther and Wasp who had recovered.
White Tiger snarled. "Just listen to yourself, if this is how you want it, you leave us no choice."
The others grimaced but realized that White Tiger was right, there was no other option. Nothing seemed to be getting through to him right, so they'd have to fight, to wear him down, hopefully they'd get him exhausted enough that they'd manage to finally break through.
With that they all made their way towards Jake, trying to be cautious, but they knew it wouldn't be that easy. Sure enough, before they were even halfway towards him, Jake reacted and launched himself towards Batgirl and Blue Bullet who were nearest to him.
"Don't you see what's wrong here-"
"Apart from you all trying to destroy me, stop me from being the hero, from saving people!" Jake shot back.
Speed Demon suddenly cried out. "We can't save everyone, you know that."
"Well now I can!"
He began trying to attack Speed Demon but she was far too quick and with that he was caught off guard by both Black Panther and White Tiger grabbing him from behind, Wasp dodged his attempted web shots and grabbed his arms.
"Listen to us Jake, you can't keep doing this, you're going to burn yourself out and worse, turn into a complete monster, like Venom!" She practically screamed into his face.
"DON'T YOU DARE COMPARE ME TO THAT MONSTER, I AM THE HERO!" Jake screamed.
He knocked them all away from him with a blast of Symbiote tentacles while launching himself up only to be knocked down by Blue Bullet while Batgirl tried to restrain him this time.
"Please Jake, listen to yourself." She said. "This isn't you, you need to remove this suit, please-"
Jake tensed and then suddenly, in a cry that was more anguish and pain, rather than rage. "I NEED THIS SUIT, IT MAKES ME A BETTER SPIDER-BOY"
"It doesn't-" Blue Bullet began.
But with another anguished cry, Jake suddenly burst free again. Then, firing off more webs to block any of the others from approaching, he quickly fired out a web-line and swung away, getting away from them and leaving them all downcast.
The Avengers were startled and dismayed, watching Jake vanish from sight, not wanting to turn around as they knew their families and loved ones were approaching and they were sure to be disappointed.
Vickie broke the silence, but all she said was. "Are you alright, none of you are hurt?"
Turning they saw the looks of concern and nodded.
"Yeah, but we failed." Black Panther sighed.
"We just need to figure out more, there has to be a way."
They turned to see Jess had just arrived with Jake's parents, all of them were serious, clearly upset, but equally determined.
"But what?" Speed Demon asked. "What do we do now?"
"I think we have an idea for that. We just need to speak to someone with answers." Iron Girl said as she arrived. "The very person we sought out when we left."
All eyes turned to them and White Tiger asked. "Who?"
It was Iron-Man who answered. "An expert, if you will, on Symbiotes...Dr. Curt Connors."
