To Save Someone Precious

Confused but hopeful, preparing themselves for anything, the whole group quickly made their way to the lab where Dr. Connors was known to work. They had taken a while to get there, namely due to having to take a more 'pedestrian' route to the lab for the benefit of the non-superhero members of the newly formed team. As they reached the lab building, Jonathan was clearly worried.

"You're sure that...that Dr. Connors will be able to help us?" He asked. "I thought, I never thought he'd know things like this."

"Yeah, he knows, quite a few things actually. He's helped us out in quite a few things before." Iron-Man explained.

The others all nodded and so they entered while Iron-Girl added.

"We...really should've explained it better, but he'll be able to equip us to better fight the Symbiotes...especially in regards to their weaknesses."

"Weaknesses?" Mike gasped.

The others nodded and led their way inside, the non-superhero members of the group looking around in amazement and hope, especially Mike, Will and Jessica, this might be the hope they needed to save Jake. It was clear that if they were to have any effort to break him free, he needed to be in a weakened state, or rather, the suit needed to be weakened.

"Alright, here we go." Iron-Girl explained.

With that she led them through a set of double doors into a somewhat large laboratory.

There was indeed a lot of interest in the lab and the things working away that they passed, but instead the Avengers led their group towards the back of the lab where they spotted the very man they were looking for.

Iron-Man called out. "Dr. Connors."

The one-armed scientist turned to face them and saw the whole group. "You weren't kidding I see, a large group of allies indeed."

"Um, yes...sorry about this, sir." Steve said at last, the first to recover from the shock of meeting the man himself.

Dr. Connors just smiled and shook his head. "It's fine, really. I've been looking into ways to try and end this threat the moment we saw this Symbiote Invasion start."

That startled them all, leading Holly to comment.

"Wait, wait, wait...More of you are looking into this?"

"Yes...although my colleagues are taking some rest right now...we're working in shifts." Dr. Connors explained. "But that's not why you're here, right? Your Iron Siblings here say you need help in fighting those Symbiotes, you also need something else too, right?"

The others nodded and finally, unable to hold back anymore, Jess stepped forwards.

"Please, we're...we're trying to help Spider-Boy. He's been taken over by a Symbiote and it's closing in on him." She explained. "He's turning worse, darker...but it looks like he's fighting it...we need to help him, to free him from it, can you help us."

Dr. Connors pondered for a moment, taking in her words and noting the passion with which she spoke. He also noted Michael and William Wheeler-Byers, two of his contemporaries in the science community.

Finally he sighed.

"So...you're all quite determined to save him, I guess...I'm guessing this is due to a personal connection?" He queried.

They all nodded, but refused to say anything else, thankfully he didn't pry, instead he turned and sighed.

"So...Spider-Boy has fallen to a Symbiote, that is troubling but...it might, it might be possible to still save him." He remarked. "But you must be ready to fight the Symbiotes effectively."

"So for that we need?" Erica queried.

Dr. Connors began to work on the computer and opened up a few surprising hidden panels.

"This is what you need." He explained. "Weapons that'll allow you to use fire or sonic blasts, the Symbiotes only weaknesses. If you're trying to save Spider-Boy, use the sonic blasts, that'll weaken the Symbiote, while not causing any major damage to him."

"Is, is this the only way?" Will asked warily.

"It's important that the Symbiote is weakened, otherwise the chances of Spider-Boy freeing himself will be slim." Dr. Connors explained. "But...there is something else."

"Something else?" Jess asked worriedly.

"Yes...you need someone to help you there, you need someone close to Spider-Boy's boy, their words will have a better chance to free him, getting through to him." He added.

Everyone looked to Jess, Mike and Will, knowing right away what that meant. They all looked shocked, but determined. They also quickly armed themselves and got themselves ready, they just needed to try and find Jake before it was too late, with Jess, Mike and Will being on standby, to make sure that they weren't injured before they had a chance to face Jake and hopefully save him at last.
