Infiltration

The others had already begun making their way home, but Spider-Boy wasn't going just yet and had instead stopped on top of a nearby building, thinking carefully.

'What is all this about...why would those monsters show up at a Fisk owned property of all places…' He wondered. 'Were they already there and broke free, or did they actually show up there and attack, I don't know…'

He shook his head, this wasn't right, he needed answers, so instead of heading home he began to swing towards his intended destination. It drew the attention of the others as they all had means of keeping track of each other, something they had all agreed to.

"Hey, what the...where you going?" Blue Beetle gasped.

Wasp spoke up too. "That's, not the way to your home, what is going on here?"

"Guys, just relax, go home and take it easy." Spider-Boy explained. "I've just got to work out something that's bothering me. I have no intentions of getting into a fight so just let me handle this, relax. I'll be fine."

"I sure hope you know what you're doing." Black Panther replied worriedly.

The others all murmured agreements but regardless they agreed and the communication ended, while Spider-Boy swung into position and scouted out the building that was his destination, Fisk Tower.

He knew that something like this happening would not have escaped Fisk's notice, so if there was anything to be known about this, it would be with him. Regardless he had to find out just what Fisk knew and as such he needed to get in and not draw attention to himself.

'Security...tight as always. Fisk never takes chances does he…' Spider-Boy mused. 'Hmmm, that looks like, yeah, only way in.'

So, taking a moment to watch the guard patrols, Spider-Boy swung in and landed on the building, making himself as flat on the wall of Fisk Tower as possible, looking for his next opening. Soon he saw it and pulled himself quickly through into the vent and was inside. He looked around carefully at the vent, noting how spacious it was, he grinned and began to crawl through.

He shook his head. 'Wow, for a dirty criminal Fisk has remarkably clean air vents.'

He nevertheless was glad of it, it made his infiltration a lot easier. If the info he and the other Avengers had gathered was correct, these vents would go through the whole building, even up the floors at appropriate points. Moving up the vertical shaft, Spider-Boy wondered if there was anything else he could find while he was here. Shaking his head he focused and moved back into a horizontal shaft until he moved close enough to a vent and stopped, looking down to see two of Fisk's men chatting together.

He stopped and listened in, just in case it was something useful.

"Man, the boss is pretty pissed, huh?" One man said.

The other nodded. "Yeah, he's not too pleased about that mess at the docks, those were some of his best men."

The first shook his head. "What the hell caused all this?"

"Who knows, boss never tells us anything." The second replied with a shrug.

With that they both then walked off, Spider-Boy shook his head and continued onwards, curious and worried. What he had just overheard did not make him feel any better about this incident. He began to wonder if maybe his theory of this being an attack on Fisk, rather than Fisk holding those things, was correct and if that was the case, it made things even more dangerous. He continued to follow the vents, still worried about what he was going to find out.

He suppressed a groan as he wondered. 'Those two possible scenarios...could it, I don't know who which one of those two would be worse.'

Seeing no other choice however, he made his way onwards and continued through the vents, he knew he was getting higher and higher and was almost at the vents that were closest to Kingpin's office. He finally made it to the vent he needed to see, the one that overlooked Kingpin's very desk and he stopped above it, looking down into the office.

Looking down at the Kingpin himself, Wilson Fisk was glaring darkly at two of his men who stood on the other side of the desk.

"Boss, I swear, there's nobody…"

"You're telling me, that this was some RANDOM attack?" Kingpin snarled, slamming his large fist onto the desk.

The second man spoke quickly. "Boss, the attack was some...some creatures, they just came out of nowhere and attacked the warehouse."

The first man then quickly added. "We don't even know what these things are or what they were doing there. They're dead now too but…"

"Enough excuses, so...we are under attack by an unknown enemy and this is the best you can come up with." Kingpin cut them off furiously. "Well get to it, FIND OUT!"

They quickly scurried off and Spider-Boy sighed quietly and shook his head. So it seemed Kingpin didn't know who was behind the attack and there didn't seem to be anyone to blame which was frustrating him regardless, despite his confusion and worry, Spider-Boy slipped out of the building and began to swing home, he called quickly to let the other Avengers know about what he had overheard and now they were all concerned, wondering what to do next.

End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
