This is a rewrite of Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath.
"Second Chances"
From an alternate timeline of the Mortal Kombat universe there is a fire goddess Celestial was appointed as the Protector of Earthrealm in her timeline. Celestial is light skinned, black hair, and wears a Chinese-styled dress referred to as an Enka shoulders and limbs, as well as a large belt made out of golden flowers and dragon heads. Her hair is pulled into two buns held up by conical pieces, from which her long flowing hair trails further down to her calves. Finally, she is crowned with a red circlet, or wimple.
Fire God Liu Kang prepare to rewrite history but the Hourglass began cracking "Cease, Liu Kang, before reality is doomed!" Celestial warned Liu Kang.
Celestial was joined by Nightwolf and Fujin they all exited a Void "Nightwolf? Fujin?" Liu Kang asked.
"It's a long story but cease your magic before the Hourglass shatters." Celestial said.
"Who are you?" Raiden asked.
"I am Celestial, Protector of Earthrealm but right now you need to stop." she said.
"Why?" Raiden asked.
"In defeating Kronika, you destroyed her Crown. Without it, no one can restart history." Celestial said.
"The Hourglass will shatter. All realms will be lost." she said.
"Fujin, is this true?" Raiden asked.
"Kronika's every action was taken to ensure her Crown's preparation. She would not dare restart history without it." Fujin said.
Liu Kang stopped using the Hourglass "How do you know this?" Liu Kang asked.
"Kronika came to each of us except for Celestial. For our help, she offered us places in her New Era. For refusing her, we were banished to a Void beyond time." Nightwolf said.
"We could observe the events leading up to your siege of the Keep, but we were powerless to intervene." Fujin said.
"Shang Tsung was one of the few banished to the Void, I killed him to prevent him from misusing the Hourglass. I discovered if Kronika dies the Void's seals will be broken opened permitting our escape via the Hourglass." Celestial said.
"How do you propose I reset the timeline?" Liu Kang asked.
"With the Crown." Celestial simply said.
Liu Kang and Raiden looked at each other confused. "The Crown is destroyed." Liu Kang said.
"Only in this timeline. Not the pervious timeline." she said.
Liu Kang spoke "And while I cannot restart history without the Crown..."
"You can send travelers back into the current timeline." she said.
"I see. I must return to the moment before Kronika's defeat, end that battle differently, so that her Crown remains intact." Liu Kang said.
"I tried that in my timeline there were too many chances to end the battle differently. Kronika must never get her hands on the Crown in the first place otherwise we won't win." Celestial said.
"What do you propose, Fire Goddess?" Liu Kang asked.
"That you send me, Nightwolf, and Fujin into the previous timeline to steal the Crown from Shang Tsung's island before Cetrion is sent to claim it. I'll then give it to Raiden and together we will defeat Kronika. With the Crown and hourglass under our control, we can restart history safety." Celestial proposed her plan.
"Why are we listening to this stranger?" Raiden asked.
"Because I had a vision of my timeline's Shang Tsung would kill everyone to claim the Crown. I lost loved ones I vow they would return in the New Era." Celestial said.
Raiden seem to understand her pain and asked, "If you are a Fire Goddess, did you also have a Liu Kang or Cassandra Cage?" Raiden asked.
"I was Raida's Chosen One she gave me her powers to battle Kronika much like how you and Liu Kang shared the same powers. My existence was a accident as she believed it when my timeline was destroyed she casted me into the Void." Celestial said.
"We will proceed with your plan, Celestial. I must stay behind, to operate the Hourglass." Liu Kang said.
"Nightwolf and Fujin will go with you." Liu Kang said.
"I welcome the assistance." she said.
"I will join you." Raiden said.
"Raiden without your godly powers you will be killed." Celestial said.
"She's right Raiden. I need your counsel here. Have faith in Fujin and Nightwolf." Liu Kang said.
Raiden walked to Fujin "If I have faith in anyone, it is you, brother." he said.
"I will try to send you back to the time merger. You should have enough time to claim the Crown before Cetrion delivers it to Kronika." Liu Kang said.
"Your confidence is inspiring." Nightwolf said.
"As the Keeper of Time, I am still a novice, Nightwolf." Liu Kang said.
Liu Kang sent them back into the previous timeline. They arrived into the past "When have we arrived?" Celestial asked.
"Immediately after the time merger, yes? The battle between Kotal and Shao Kahn?" Fujin asked.
"No. Look!" Nightwolf pointed out.
They saw Jade freeing Kotal Kahn "Oh no it's much later than that. This is Kitana's battle with Shao Kahn." Celestial said.
"We're almost out of time." Fujin said.
"We must escape quickly." she pointed to an exit leading underground.
"Changing this battle's outcome could cause Cetrion to claim the Crown early." Celestial said.
"And guarantee our failure." Fujin said.
The three try to escape but Kollector spotted them Nightwolf defeated him and Kitana won the battle against Shao Kahn. "Liu Kang must not have total control of the Hourglass." Celestial said.
"We're here much later than we wanted to be." Nightwolf said.
"Then we head to the island now before Cetrion can arrive." Celestial said.
The three head to Shang Tsung's island and fight Noob Saibot and the elder Jackson Briggs Fujin convinces Jax to join them and together they fight Cetrion who gains her dark form. Celestial and Fujin goes to find the past Raiden and Liu Kang while Nightwolf goes with the Briggs. Celestial and Fujin encounters Scorpion and Sub Zero but defeated them. "Who are you?" Raiden asked.
"I am Celestial, Goddess of fire and thunder." she said.
"She hails from a alternate timeline, Raiden." Fujin said.
"We hail from your tragic future. In it, Liu Kang defeated Kronika, but their battle destroyed her Crown." Fujin said.
Celestial showed them the crown "Without this, the broken timeline couldn't be repaired." Fujin explained.
"Our only hope was to return here, steal the Crown, and make use of its power." Celestial said.
"Now, we can change the outcome of the fight against Kronika. We can defeat her and fix time!" Fujin exclaimed.
Raiden listened to her.
Celestial soon encountered her timeline's Shang Tsung who is female. Her name is Shang Mei. She appears pale, with a hint of an ethereal glow. She wears a sorceress clothing colored green to match her powers to steal souls.
Shang Mei steals the Crown and gathers Kronkia's remaining allies to help her storm the Isle. With no time to waste Celestial and the other Kombatants arrive at the Isle and battle for the fate of the New Era. Shang Mei killed majority of the heroes and Kronkia while Celestial had no choice but to eliminate her enemies.
Shang Mei prepare to rewrite history but she knew her arch enemy was right behind. Celestial reveals she knew Shang Mei was going to show up and allowed her to steal the Crown. Shang Mei taunted Celestial that she'll have to chose between bringing back Raiden and his fighters or Celestial's own fighters. The two battled but even with the Crown Shang Mei lost the battle to Celestial "Make no mistake, Shang Mei, you have chosen this fight." Celestial said.
Celestial harnessed the Hourglass power and erased her arch enemy from existence. Celestial forged the New Era creating Liu Kang as a Fire God.
Eons after forging the New Era she returned to her home timeline and used the Crown's power to create her own New Era.
In this New Era none of the Mortal Kombat characters existed and a whole new universe was created.
Inside a Japan city a boy was creating tools he needed to steal things because now he lost his family and stealing is his only survival choice. Celestial opened a portal, and she was floating in the air when the boy turned around shocked to see her. "Hiro." she said his name.
"Who?" he asked.
He took a step back hitting his working bench "Who are you?" Yike asked.
"I am lord, Celestial goddess of fire and thunder." she said.
"Goddess?" he asked.
He bowed to her "Forgive my disrespect my lord!" he apologized.
"Enough." Celestial said.
She land onto the ground "You are suffering not like the Hiro I knew." she said.
"The Hiro you knew?" Hiro asked.
"A story for another I have chosen you to be of Earth's champions." she said.
Hiro was totally confused. "We have work to do. You must be prepared trained." she said.
"Trained? For what?" he asked.
She simply smiles.
