Our story begins first thing in the morning in the Spiral Mountains. It was around six o'clock in the morning and everyone was about to wake up from their beds. Our two heroes: known as Banjo the brown honey bear, and Kazooie the Red-Crested Breegull, were still in their beds with Banjo snoring away being covered in the blue blanket of his bed set, and Kazooie in Banjo's big blue backpack in the hat rack. After about ten minutes had passed; Kazooie began shuffling her body around in the backpack and poked her whole head and wings out to open her eyes. She gave a large yawn and stretched her large wings to get the blood moving for today. Kazooie looked at her best friend Banjo still asleep in his bed snoring away, it was about time for him to wake up, so Kazooie opened her beak to wake him up.

"Wake up, I want to go on an Adventure!" Kazooie squawked in the gentlest way she could.

Banjo squinted his eyes tightly and slowly opened them both to see the ceiling of his bed. Banjo slowly propped himself up and gave a big stretch along with a loud yawn. He rubbed his tired eyes with both hands to see Kazooie smiling at him as she usually does every morning.

"Morning Kazooie. Man, I slept like a rock last night!" He said while yawning and taking his hands off his eyes.

"Same with me, what do you wanna cook for breakfast?" She asked as she hopped out of Banjo's backpack and softly landed on the hardwood floor.

"I could go for some coffee and pancakes! You?" He said while taking the covers off his bed to move his feet.

"I could go for some coffee and pancakes myself. You know how much I love to have enough for our next adventure." She excitedly said while walking over to the stove next to Banjo's bed.

"Alright then, let's make some good old pancakes!" He said excitedly getting out of his bed.

One hour later, Banjo and Kazooie perfected their breakfast. Eight stacks of delicious golden brown pancakes skewered their heads to the naked eyes covered in maple syrup and fresh fruit on top, along with two cups of freshly made coffee. Banjo sat on his favorite blue recliner couch with his pancakes and coffee, while Kazooie sat down on the green and yellow circle mat next to the warm fireplace with her stack of pancakes and a small cup of coffee.

A few minutes had passed, their pancakes were only a few delicious bites left to finish, and coffee was only a few sips away from being gone. Kazooie was about to finish her breakfast first until she and Banjo heard a knock on the door. Who could be knocking on their door this early in the morning?

"Oh, I'll get it!" Kazooie said as she got up from the carpet to walk toward the door.

"Kazooie made her way to the blue-painted wood door and turned the yellow door knob. She opened the door to see her and Banjo's old friend; Bottled the Mole with his orange suit, yellow necktie, and brownish-red round glasses holding a big handful of mail in his arms. The mail was stacks upon stacks of paper, it was about twice the size of their pancakes. Not to mention the excessive amount of weight the mail carried, making Bottle's arms tremble in pain, struggling to not let it all fall on Kazooie.

"Morning Kazooie… lovely morning we're having isn't it? He said while struggling to hold the big stack of mail.

"Why yes it is, you have mail for us?" She said looking at Bottles with a face of concern.

"As a matter of fact, yes I do. This ALL belongs to you guys. Be careful, it's really heavy." He said, sticking out his arms to give the mail to Kazooie.

"Oh, thank you." She said as she quickly grabbed all the mail from Bottle grasp.

Bottles wasn't kidding when he said it was heavy. The mail felt like carrying a six-month-old baby bear. Even Kazooie was having a hard time holding all the mail in her wings.

"Yeah, turns out all our mail got mixed up in my mailbox instead of yours." Bottles said, taking off his glasses and taking out a white cloth to clean them with.

Banjo finally finished his pancakes and got out of his recliner to meet up with Kazooie and Bottles. He saw the big pile of mail in Kazooie's wings and quickly grabbed a small stack, so there wouldn't be so much mail on her wings, much to Kazooie's delight and relief.

"Man, how many weeks of mail is this?" Banjo asked, looking through the stack of mail they had.

"I think it's… two or three weeks worth." Bottles guest while putting his glasses back on, and putting the cloth back inside his suit pocket.

"Aww man, I was hoping we could go on an adventure today!" Kazooie squealed in annoyance and disappointment.

"Oh come on Kazooie, I'm sure we could get all this mail together in a few minutes," Banjo said with confidence.

"Yeah, says the bear who spent almost SIX HOURS in line at the Music Store!" Kazooie mocked, much to Banjo and Bottle's displeasure.

"Hey, They had all musical instruments 50% off that day! I wanted to be the first one to get as many spare banjos as possible!" Banjo said, angrily pointing at Kazooie.

"Well, I hope you guys get something good in your mail. See ya around!" Bottles said while turning around and waving goodbye to Banjo and Kazooie.

"Later Bottles!" Banjo said while holding one-half of the mail in one hand and waving with the other hand. Unfortunately, he wasn't properly balancing his stack of mail, and clumsily dropped it onto the floor, much to Kazooie's frustration.

A few minutes had passed now and Banjo and Kazooie were looking through all the mail on the rug. Their mail contained different restaurant coupons, bills they had to pay, and different letters from their friends, mostly from Banjo's younger sister Tooty. Banjo was mostly happy with his pile of mail, but Kazooie felt like this was her prison. She was extremely turned off by the pile of mail she had.

"Ugh! This is so boring! I wanna go on an adventure! And I mostly have BILL'S in my pile!" Kazooie squawked, moaning in annoyance.

"Oh come on Kazooie. It's only been 30 minutes, and look, we're halfway done. Heck, maybe you'll get something interesting in your pile." Banjo eagerly said while reading another one of Tooty's letters.

"What could I have that would be so exciting? What is exciting about getting a letter from the power company, or coupons that have probably expired by now, or getting an invitation from Nintendo to be on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?!" She asked while still squawking in irritation.

"Hey, as I said, we almost-" Before Banjo could finish, he cut himself off from the last phrase Kazooie said.

"Wait! What did you say Kazooie?" Banjo said as he slightly put his pile of mail down and his eyes grew with a mixture of excitement and curiosity.

Kazooie, not growing more irritated than before, repeated the words she said, but in a more mocking gesture.

"I said, what could be exciting about getting a letter from the power company BLAH BLAH BLAH!? Or Coupons that have probably expired by now BLAH BLAH BLAH!? OR getting an invitation from Nintendo to be on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate BLAH BLAH BL-" Kazooie said, mocking but suddenly stopped when rephrasing her last sentence.

Now frozen in place, Kazooie shifted her eyes to the white envelope with the Red Super Smash Logo on the floor, with total shock as her beak suddenly dropped to the floor and her eyes began browning to her forehead. She looked at Banjo then looked at the letter again, she went back and forth with disbelief for a good solid minute.

"W-we got a L-l-letter from Nintendo to be on SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE!?" She squealed as her eyes grew larger with utter shock and disbelief.

"Were… in… SMASH?! Banjo loudly questioned as he slowly put down the letter he was reading and picked up the letter from Smash.

"W-w-well? What are you waiting for? Don't just look at it! O-OPEN IT UP!" Kazooie demanded while pointing at Banjo, then the letter.

Banjo's heart, now thudding 100 beats per minute, and Kazooie now chomping at her finger feathers both looking anxious and excited to open up the letter. Banjo took a deep breath and slowly opened the letter, he and Kazooie were now shaking in a mixture of fear and excitement to see if they would get into Super Smash Ultimate. The letter was finally out of the envelope and Banjo unfolded it to see what it said. He finally opened his eyes and nervously read the letter:

"Congratulations, Banjo-Kazooie, as the creators of Smash. I, Masahiro Sakurai, am proud to announce to you that you both are officially in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the upcoming Fall of 2019. We hope to see you both this Fall at the Super Smash Ultimate Stadium this Fall"

Sincerely, Nintendo

Banjo suddenly dropped the letter with his mouth now down to the carpet floor and eyes growing to his forehead in utter shock, and Kazooie, who stopped biting her feather and now had a beakful of her red feathers in her mouth.

"Were… In… Smash… Ultimate…" Banjo stammered as he stood up as he was still shaking with joy.

"And… we're... Gonna be a playable character in the game…" Kazooie said while spitting the feathers out of her beak and mouth.

Banjo and Kazooie, now speechless without words both looked at each other with disbelief. Their faces turned from pure shock to extreme joy and without any warning, they both jumped in mid-air and screamed from the top of their lungs about how honored and overjoyed they were to finally be on Smash Ultimate.

"WE'RE IN SMASH!" They both shouted as loud as they could, cheering with joy and tears of pride in their eyes.

They were screaming and yelling so loud that it could be heard from Spiral Mountain to Gruntilda's Lair. Not to mention the fact that everyone outside was wondering what all the commotion was, even some of the residents were still sleeping in their beds and were suddenly woken up from their cheering.

Meanwhile, at Salty Joe's; Bottles was next in line to tell Salty Joe the Red Fox what he wanted to order until he heard Banjo and Kazooie's screaming, startling him.

"Now what's gotten into Banjo and Kazooie?" Bottles wondered while looking at Salty Joe.

"Here's a better question. Are you gonna order something or what? You know I hate customers asking for things." Salty Joe rudely said while impatiently tapping his fingers on the counter.

Both Banjo and Kazooie quickly ran out the door with Kazooie in Bajo's blue backpack and Banjo running as fast as his legs could. They both were eager to tell everyone in Spiral Mountain the great news.
