I was never the type to enjoy others company. Everyone around me was there making friends, having fun yada yada. Me? I much preferred being alone under the night sky... Let me introduce myself, I am Felix an Umbreon a part of the Elite 4 Academy. Here we strive to be the best of the best and those in the top 4 get the best jobs whether that be Rescue Teaming, Champion, Enforcement anything. I joined because a friend convinced me to and this friend is an Espeon, her name was Vena. She was the complete opposite to me, energetic, outgoing and always trying to make everyone smile. Sounds like a Sylveon yet she looked like an Espeon. She was so perfect yet I didn't stand a chance with her... Or so I thought...

Location: Hallway of Elite 4 Academy
PoV: Felix

I was just walking through the hallway when a familiar set of tails slaps me on the back. It was Vena.

"Hey Felix, how you holding up?" She said with the usual smile on her face.
"As you would have expected, just stressing for the combat exam coming up" I replied whist thinking about how to fix my one glaring issue.
"Hey come on, your an Umbreon, your not meant to attack, just do what you do best and stall and be annoying" Vena giggles as she responds.

My moveset was Wish, Protect, Toxic and Foul Play. I quite enjoyed playing the long game and letting Toxic get me the win, the only issue with this exam was the fact it was speed related and how quick we can deal with our opponent and with my stall like moveset, I was surely going to get last.

"I already am thinking of buying some TM's just to pass this exam" I replied
"TM's?! Where on Arceus did you find the Pokecoins to buy TM's?" She questioned clearly confused
"I was gonna ask my dad for some Pokecoins, if he knows it's to pass he'll gladly lend me some" I answered. I didn't want her thinking I'm doing anything illegal for these pokecoins afterall.
"I'll trust you for now Felix... You better not be lying to me and be doing anything illegal for those coins" She snapped on.

Vena was always very defensive of me, being the weaker of us she always felt it was her duty to protect me. It just makes her even more perfect yet I'm too weak and far too timid to ever talk to her and she is just a friend.

"Oh are you also coming to prom later tonight?" She added on.
"Prom? Ha, you clearly aren't the Vena I know" I replied amused, "She would know I would avoid prom at all costs"
"Really? I thought that so I wanted to ask, would you take me with you?" She asked.

I stop walking and look at her. Was she serious? She was so adamant on going to prom a few days ago. She even tried convincing me to go, maybe she feels the same way about me and knowing I won't be going, she would rather spend time with me? No... Don't give yourself false hope.

"You don't want to go to Prom?" I asked confused but curious.
"Haha I may enjoy Prom but everyone here is way to dirty minded for my liking" She explained, "You however know how to actually treat a lady with some respect."

Vena moves herself acting all elegant and in response I giggle a bit at how ridiculous she looks.

"You look absolutely ridiculous you know" I tell her with a smile.
"Oh I know, I just have the confidence to do something like that" She replies and fixing her uniform with Psychic.
"I wish I had your confidence..." I let out loud unaware that I said that.
"Oh, why do you say that?" She responds.
"I bet it feels nice doing whatever you like without the fear of others judging you..." I respond. I don't know why I'm just letting this out now, maybe her presence is just a miracle worker.
"Or maybe you want to do something but is afraid~" She teases, "Maybe you have fallen in love but won't tell me who haha, later I'll come by to your place and then you can take me to where your going for 'Prom', understood?"
"Y-Yes ma'am" I respond.

Having her come over isn't too bad, it's not the first time. Hell she's been visiting ever since we were Eevee's. But why does now feel different? I feel nervous, thankfully I have Inner Focus as an ability so she wouldn't notice how nervous I was but why am I this nervous...

Vena walks off quicker to get to class leaving me behind with my thoughts and soon enough, that was the last time I would see her in University.

PoV: Felix

I waited for the doorbell and soon enough it rang and there stood the girl of my dreams. She was wearing what I brought her all that time ago, it was a bit small on her but she looked absolutely stunning. I just couldn't help but stand and stare at her.

"My someone is enjoying this hehe" She says giving me a little twirl.

The dress was purple in color with red accents, it wasn't anything impressive but Vena can really make anything look absolutely stunning.

I shake my head and bow, "Sorry for staring, I just didn't expect you to look that good in it"
"Wow, someone worked on their confidence" She giggles slightly and pushes past me and goes in, "So what's the plan you had for tonight?"
"To go and visit my mum..." I reply, I didn't want to admit it as she was quite excited and this'll probably kill the mood.
"Oh I've never seen your mum, what does she look like?" She looks at me noticing my expression and realizes, "Oh... I'm sorry, I didn't know... I can leave so you can go on your own if you like."

I've never seen her like this before, she was actually showing some signs of sadness and she clearly cares about me, maybe I do have a chance but these mixed feelings I have, I can't ever read her.

"No it's fine, you can come along..." I respond, "You can come along, I'm sure she would love to see you."

We prepare and head over to the graveyard, Vena had never actually been to a graveyard before and being here was quite eerily. It was quiet, nobody was trying to disturb each other and respected each other and soon enough we come to a grave.

"Hey mum... I brought a friend with me today." I smile as I speak with her, "I know what you would say if you saw her... You would start questioning her to see if she was perfect as my wife..."
"Huh?" Vena blushed and stared at me, "She was like that?"
"Yup, and she would've said your perfect for me haha" I jokingly say.
"I wouldn't mind it though..." She says whist blushing.

Did I just hear that right? She wouldn't mind being my wife? No way... She actually likes me... Without realizing it I smile and lean towards her and she does the same. And once we lock lips, we stay connected. I was so happy in that moment, and I knew my mum was happy watching her son grow up and kiss a girl.

Vena breaks the kiss and looks at me, "Now, tell me all about your mum, I want to know absolutely everything" She says whist smiling
