When the time came, Gunvolt jumped with Joule, Zeno jumped with Atari and Copen jumped with Mytyl. All of them landed saefly on the roftop.
"Heartblazer! Burn my foes to ash!" Copen spoke.
"Wait! Don't do it! The Seraph will catch on fire and set the building ablaze before it explodes!" Atari shouted.
But it was too late. The attack created a hole 10 feet wide which took out the controle console and created a hole the same size as the one in the floor. The alarms could be heard outside thanks to the hole.
"I wonder what the Sumeragi has aginst you." Atari wondered while looking at Copen.
"Well, he has intererred wtih a lot of their work and killed a lot of their employees." Gunvolt stated.
"Oh yeah, how are we going to get to Asimov now?" Atari pondered.
"You're on the rooftop of the building you need to enter." Nori informed.
"Um, how exactly are we supposed to get down safely?" Atari ueried.
Zeno pointed to a ladder to the right of them that was covered by a hatch with a hinge. So, Copen used his hover ability to land safely and enter from the door while everyone else climbed down using the ladder. Soon, they all reached the basement.
"Where do we go now? Nori? Can you hear me?" Copen worried.
"Moniqa's non-responsive too." Gunvolt added.
"I'm wonderin' if Xiao didn't decided ta go read a comic." Zeno remarked.
"I can hear static, something must be jamming the comm signals." Copen noticed.
"It's alright, we can keep going without them." Atari supposed.
As soon as they reached the basement, everyone noticed Dystnine.
"My sincerest apologies for making you wait. I assume you're looking for Demerzel." Dystnine apologized.
"How are you still alive?" Gunvolt interrogated.
"Asroc's Septima was "donated" to a good cause after his fight with Copen to restore my body. My abilities have been improved as well." Dystnine elucidated.
"This must've been under the order of Demerzel. No matter, we'll deal with you then eliminate him." Copen snarled.
"Hahaha, did you really fall for that? I am Demerzel." Demerzel spoke as he appeared in the middle of 3 cylinders.
"W-what is this?" Gunvolt asked.
"GV, I'm giving you and Lily your final chance at being king and queen of peace. will you take it and join me and the Sumeragi in making the Earth an Adept utopia?" Demerzel questioned.
"We refuse, your ideals are too twisted. And why not ask Joule? Lily's half human and half Adept. Don't you want to purge the world of humans?" Zeno questioned.
"Soon, you'll find out what Atari really is. And when you do, it'll be too late to change anything." Demerzel added as he changed from his scarier pure electricity form into one remminiscent of Asimov.
"If Moniqa were here now..." Zeno commented.
"What is the Butterfly Effect?" Copen seethed.
"I see you've obtained some information on the reignition of the Muse Project. No matter, you'll be disposed of soon enough. You've meddled in too many of Sumeragi's affairs as it is." Demerzel scorned.
"Why are you working with the Sumeragi anyways? they caused you to go through so much struggling and strife." Atari queried.
Everything and everyone was at a complete and total standstill.
"I realized if I wanted to achieve my goal I'd have to put my feelings and past aside." Demerzel explained.
"Have you always been an AI?" Atari pondered.
"This form was mandatory for me to obtain maximum power." Demerzel replied.
Atari turned around and silently mouthed 'go unplug him' to Gunvolt. Gunvolt attempted to go around the left cylinder. Only to be struck by a Luxcalibur above his head, sending him flying and crashing back first into the wall on the opposite side of the room.
"GV!" Atari shrieked as she and Lumen ran to inspect his limp, unconscious body.
"it ends right here, right now." Demerzel declared as his pure electric form returned and morphed into a dark blue.
"This isn't right! Why did you create QUILL then!?" Atari asked as she dodged 3 Dragon Spheres.
"It gave me time to plan my renewal and the power I needed to obtain my end goal." Demerzel noted.
A Luxcalibur from the left, the right then center struck the floor, electrifying it. Luckily, Atari, Zeno and Gunvolt's shoes all had rubber soles. So they wouldn't get electrocuted, and Copen was in the air. Copen used a Bullit Dash to damage the power transformer in the top center of the left cylinder which Demerzel moved to. But a Dragon Sphere in the center of the left cylinder combined with the electricity outlining the outside of the cylinder caused Copen to use a Bullit for Prevasion.
Finally, after many failed attempts, Lumen and Atari succeeded in managing to wake Gunvolt up.
"Huh? What happened?" Gunvolt wondered.
"Do you want the long version or the short version?" Atari laughed nervously.
"From the looks of it the short version would be better." Gunvolt answered.
"Asimov turned into Demerzel to amplify his power and eliminate all humans." Atari responded.
Gunvolt looked quizzically at the azure abomination on the other side of the basement.
"That's, Asimov?" Gunvolt muttered.
"GV! You have to get up! Now! I don't think Copen or Zeno can last much longer!" Lumen warned.
When the 3 looked, it appeared Copen and Zeno were exhausted already. The only thing keeping Copen going was the opportunity to finally avenge his late father. Zeno carried on since he knew Atari was in harms way. A well aimed Duluhan Bullit took out 1/8th of the energy in the transformer. Demerzel, in a rage that one of his 3 energy generators was decimated, attempted to electrocute Copen while he was near the center cylinder by outlining that cylinder and the right one with electricity and them containing a Dragon Sphere.
Three tracking Dragon Spheres were sent to attack Copen, Zeno and Gunvolt. Why Atari wasn't attacked was unknown at the time, but would be revealed after the fight. Demerzel threw down a lightning bolt which electrified the floor. Luckily, Zeno, Gunvolt and Atari's shoe soles were made of rubber. But unfortunately, all of Copen's equipment was made of metal so he suffered some shock and his EX Weapons were restarting themselves.
After using Prevasion to wait out the restart of his EX Weapons, Copen was able to use Photon Detonator and initiate the final battle phase.
"Fear the azure creed, it's roaring thunder the final judgment of all things. Votaic Chain Meteor!" Demerzel spoke.
Just then, Demerzel's face appeared in all 3 cylinders at once. Giant links of chains appeared on all the walls of the room as a giant Dragon Sphere floated in the center of the room. Atari, Gunvolt and Lumen got away from the wall just in time to prevent themselves from being injured. Pieces of chains appeared to be attaching themselves to the electric orb.
Avoiding them seemed near impossible, but that wasn't the worst of it. Azure lightning strikes began to shock the chains on the walls, one of which struck Atari who shrieked as her knees buckled and she was kneeling on the floor.
"Atari!" Gunvolt, Lumen and Zeno shouted.
Gunvolt checked her pulse, it was weaker than usual, meaning she passed out.
"It's no good, we'll have to leave her here and keep on fighting. Lumen, I need you to keep an eye on her and let me know if anything changes." Gunvolt commented.
Lumen nodded as Gunvolt went to join Zeno and Copen in the brawl. Things took a rough turn as the sphere cut diagonally from top left to bottom right then vice versa. It went from both sides of the room as well, cutting off communication between the girls and the boys. It went down and exploded on the floor, sending bits of electricity and chain all over the basement.
After Copen used Twin Shredder and Gunvolt used Grand Strizer, it was all over. They finally defeated Asimov, or so they thought. Demerzel was holding a lightning bolt, this time it was darker in hue and a bit wider than the last. And he was holding it directly above Copen.
"Copen, watch out!" Gunvolt warned.
"Get away from that cylinder!" Zeno cautioned.
"Huh?" Copen wondered.
As soon as he looked, he was struck. Copen was unconscious on the floor, his body stretched out.
"I'll handle Copen, you need to get the information on Atari from Demerzel." Zeno notified.
Gunvolt nodded before approaching the glitching Demerzel.
"What are you talking about? That what we know about Atari isn't true?" Gunvolt interrogated.
"You'll soon see, I must sleep until I can fully recover." Demerzel rambled as he attempted to shut down.
However, he was interrupted by a shot from Copen's gun. It wasn't Copen that shot though, it was Zeno. The shot was enough to shut down Demerzel.
"I-it's no use, my song isn't working. Is my Muse not strong enough?" Lola cried.
"If we can get Lumen to help, maybe it'll work. If only we could have Lily join in." Gunvolt commented.
"We'd be better off getting them topside and see what we can do, come on." Zeno suggested as he picked up Copen from the left side and Gunvolt on the right who was also using his Flashfield to safely lift Atari near them with Lumen closely following behind to keep an eye on her.
