A/N: Chapter three of the story. As I said, this is pretty much part two to the previous chapter. I originally intended for this chapter and the previous one to be the same chapter but it ended up being too long. Anyways, moving on.
P.S., I apologize for taking super long to update but I do plan on moving forward with this story and series. I've been extremely busy and it's only gonna get worse but I promise to keep this going for as long as I can. Thank you everyone for your understanding.
ASSAULT ON EARTH ONE: PART TWO
Earth 1
Central City
0437 Hours EST
"The Dark Multiverse sent the Dominators?" Barry asked for confirmation as he, Diana, Green Lantern, Arthur, Batman, Harry, and Jesse stood in the cortex.
"That's the gist, pretty much," Green Lantern said as he was unmasked and wearing normal clothes, Barry had discovered his name to be Hal Jordan, a former United States Air Force pilot. Hal held out his green ring, which was on the ring finger of his right hand, as a green glowing image was shown. "Imagine a multiverse just like ours. Infinite universes multiplied by possibility, destiny, and concepts themselves. Countless realities, timelines, and people. What not. Now the problem is that these two multiverses: the Dark Multiverse and our Multiverse can't coexist. Too much energy. Too much of a population. So, billions of years ago, the Dominators, from the Dark Multiverse, invaded our Multiverse and…"
"They massacred entire species and planets," Diana continued. "Entire civilizations and universes…gone."
Jesse covered her mouth as Barry watched with a somewhat fierce look.
"Our Multiverse's forces then fought back," Hal continued. "Mostly an emergency force of Kryptonians, ancient speedsters, and other Green Lanterns. We fought and we were at a standstill at the Source Wall, the border between our Multiverse and the Dark Multiverse. After over millions of years of warring with each other, they came to an agreement. The Source Wall would be the border between their multiverses and they would lock it down. They stayed in their own multiverses and were isolated completely from each other thanks to the Source Wall.
"The Source Wall got stronger over time until it was absolutely powerful enough to keep the two Multiverses separate. To put it into perspective, there are parts and things in both our multiverse and dark multiverse cosmology that have no dimensional limitations, beyond the concept of space as well as any scientific definition of. Formless, abstract, transcendental. You name it. The Source Wall and the Source, the energy the Wall comes from, are so far beyond the baseline of that kind of energy. Not even infinity is accurate or powerful enough to describe how much greater the Source Wall and the Source are compared to even those things.
However, that doesn't mean the Source Wall can't be weakened. Any energy strong enough to match or exceed it can damage it."
"What kind of energy?" Harry asked, the curious scientist in him visibly shining through his worried self.
"We don't know for sure, there should be so little yet there could be so many" Diana explained. "After the Source Wall cracked, we discovered that dangerous timeline changes can be among them."
"Like Flashpoint…" Barry muttered in a noticeable tone, realizing where this conversation was going.
Batman, Diana, Hal, and Arthur nodded in affirmation.
"When the Flashpoint paradox was created," Hal began as his ring showed a green-glowing map of the Source Wall separating the multiverse and dark multiverse. "The timeline's birth sent a shockwave to the border of the two multiverses, one created by the birth of the Flashpoint timeline, one strong enough to tear a hole and cause a crack within it. Each multiverse began to bleed and mix into each other. When Flashpoint was reversed, another shockwave reached the Source Wall, just as strong and powerful as the first one. The damage was further exceeded, widening the cracks in the Wall.
From the dark multiverse, the Dominators poured through among a vast majority of different threats attacking our multiverse and kickstarting multiversal war fronts and military campaigns. Now, the Dominators and Gorilla Grodd's army are here on Earth One to take over."
"So I did this," Barry muttered in a low voice of self-contempt. "I started a multiverse war…"
"This war's been going on long before you were even born, Allen," Hal assured. "Flashpoint or not, this was bound to happen."
"We would've only been delaying the inevitable." Arthur added.
"I caused this, I started this war…" Barry said, looking up to face everyone else. "And I'm gonna finish it. All of it. Starting with my earth."
"We need all hands on deck," Batman stated. "We've noticed you and the Green Arrow have been close allies."
"How did-" Barry tried to say.
"Like we said," Diana interrupted. "We've been watching you for quite some time."
"Is there anyone else that can help?" Hal asked. "Any other allies who can join us?"
Barry nodded. "I know a couple people…but each of them are on different Earths and I can't get to them. Even if I could go fast enough to travel universes, I can't control it and I don't even know what Earth one of them is on."
"I can take you there," Hal explained.
"But what about the city? The rest of this Earth?" Barry questioned. "The Dominators and Grodd's army could pull off anything in the time Hal and I are gone."
"We split up for now," Batman suggested. "Hal, you go with Barry to get his allies. I'll head to STAR City to get Green Arrow and any friendlies he may be able to provide. Diana, Arthur, you two stay in Central City. When Grodd's army arrives and unites with the dominators, this city will be ground zero of their invasion…for now. Wells, Jesse, you two monitor any and all dominator activity across the planet. Have a list of locations of the most dominator-populated war fronts by the time Barry returns."
"Go on, Allen," Arthur insisted. "The faster you get your friends, the faster we can get an army of our own…"
"We'll hold down the fort here in your city." Diana added.
"Yeah, I can even help once I get better." Jesse insisted.
Barry seemed hesitant as he tensed for a moment. Hal went to his side.
"Look, I know it isn't easy, brother," Hal began, putting a hand on Barry's shoulder. "But whether you like it or not, there will be damage, people will die, some will suffer. The sooner we do this and get on with it, the more we can reduce how much of that happens."
Barry nodded and sighed. "Alright, let's go…we'll be back as soon as we can."
Harry nodded as Batman left the facility, heading to STAR City.
"So how does this work?" Barry asked as he and Hal stood outside the STAR Labs facility in the early morning.
The two were dressed in normal clothes, Barry have kept his flash suit behind as he wore black sneakers, black jeans, a belt with a knife cover where he kept his knife sheathed (the one Harry had given him), and a long-sleeved, dark blue t-shirt with a thin hood that hung from the collar of his shirt. Hal wore brown shoes, dark blue jeans, a white, short-sleeved t-shirt and an unbuttoned, dark green, air-force jacket as he wore his Lantern ring.
"Just think of this person and I'll use the ring to locate the Earth they're on…" Hal replied simply.
"Just like that?" Barry wondered. "That's it? It can do it…just off of that?"
"Trust me, man, even I don't know the full limits of this thing. Assuming there are any."
Barry nodded. "Alright then…do your thing."
Hal held the Lantern ring to Barry's forehead as clenched his hand into a fist and concentrated for a couple seconds. Then, the Lantern ring glowed brighter with its green light as Hal put it down and nodded.
"Got both locations," Hal replied. "Two different earths to go to, huh?"
"Only two people we're getting…but trust me, we're gonna need it." Barry replied.
Hal scoffed dryly. "You're telling me, runner."
Barry raised an eyebrow.
Hal shrugged. "Not the worst nickname you've gotten."
Barry chuckled it off as Hal held his fist out before the ring formed a large, green-colored and bright portal. He held Hal by the shoulder before he ran through the portal as it closed behind them, the duo disappearing in a flash of orange lightning and a quick, bright light of green.

"What the hell is going on out there?" Thea asked as she paced around through the Bunker.
She, Oliver, Rene, Curtis, Felicity, Diggle, Evelyn, and Rory stood on the main circle-shaped ground of the Bunker.
"We're under attack…" Felicity said as she typed rapidly on her computer, pulling up news reports and security footage screens from all over the city as well as satellite imagery.
"By who?" Oliver and Diggle asked simultaneously.
Felicity's eyebrows grew large as she slowly turned to the two of them. "You guys ever seen E.T. Extraterrestrial? But it's like - you know, a rated R, horror version with the not-so-much-as-nice but scary and terrifying aliens? It's like that…but even worse."
The looks of shock varied across the rest of their faces.
"Wait, so you're saying…" Diggle trailed off.
"Aliens, John…" Oliver sighed. "It's aliens."
"Twenty bucks says Barry's involved in this shit." Diggle exasperated under his breath.
"You wouldn't be wrong." A foreign, modulated voice echoed.
Reflexively, Oliver turned around as he notched an arrow onto his bow before firing at the bat-shaped figure that stood a few feet away. The man caught it with ease as he stepped forward, allowing the light to fully reveal himself.
"Not bad…" The Dark Knight of Gotham noted before tossing the arrow away. "But not great either."
"You're - he's - that's -" Felicity stuttered.
"Yeah…I'm the goddamn Batman." Batman replied. "We need your help. I'm a friend of Barry Allen's."
"As in The Flash?" Thea inquired. "Since when?"
"Less than two hours ago." Batman answered.
"Our city's under attack," Rene added.
"The whole world is," Batman said before handing a piece of paper to Oliver, who accepted it. "Meet at this STAR Labs facility and bring anyone you know who can help."
"We can't just leave this city behind." Rory pleaded.
"The whole world is in a battle as part of a war between two entire multiverses, kid," Batman said as he anticipated the looks of surprise, shock, and utter confusion he was given. "This is much bigger than one city and it's certainly bigger than you, me, or anyone in this room. So…you people in or out?"
Batman and the entirety of Team Arrow exchanged a few glances as the looks on their face turned to either grim or worry.

Hal and Barry exited the green portal before it closed behind them as they found themselves in the living room of an apartment. The duo looked around in a mix of confusion and admiration.
"This looks just like my girlfriend's apartment back at Coast City," Hal chuckled. "You sure this is the right place?"
"Can't tell," Barry responded as he looked around the kitchen. "I've never seen what my friend's living place looks like."
"It better be the right place," Hal commented. "Or someone is about to be very confused."
Suddenly, the door to the apartment clicked and unlocked as Hal and Barry jumped on guard and observed the door carefully. The door opened to reveal a certain blonde-haired woman to be standing behind as she paused in surprise.
"Barry!" Kara Danvers exclaimed.
"Surprise?" Barry said awkwardly.
"I knew it! I knew that was you!" She said as she went forward for a hug, wrapping her arms around him as Barry yelped. "It's so good to see you."
"You too…" Barry smiled as he and Kara separated before gesturing to Hal. "This is a friend of mine."
"Hal Jordan," Hal said as he and Kara shook hands.
"Kara Danvers." Kara replied warmly.
"Well, it's lovely to meet you, Kara." Hal said charismatically. "And may I just say this is a beautiful place. Almost as much as you."
Kara blushed. "Thank you."
Barry raised an eyebrow for a moment before clearing his throat.
"So, Barry, what brings you over?" Kara pondered curiously.
"Right, so long-story short," Barry said quickly. "I need your help. It's a favor, pretty please. My world's under attack and it's not looking good."
"What're we up against exactly?" Kara asked.
Barry and Hal exchanged a grim glance as the two sighed heavily, only confusing and worrying Kara even more than she already was.

"Is this the location?" Diana asked as she and Arthur stood side-by-side.
"Indeed," Arthur replied. "This is the intersection where Wells and Jesse tracked Grodd's army to be heading."
"They're here early," Diana muttered.
"And they'll leave early." Arthur smirked.
"Still overconfident, old friend?"
"Not overconfidence. Certainty…old friend."
Arthur and Diana stood together as the ground began rumbling threateningly and shakily. A sea of telepathic, gorillas covered in metal armor, armed with spears and shields stretched for miles over the streets of Central City. At the very front, Grodd marched forward before he and his army stopped to a halt as he narrowed his eyes to the two warriors in front of him.
"Wonder Woman and Aquaman," Grodd sneered. "It seems that neither one of you are simple myths or legends after all."
"Leave this earth, Grodd," Arthur demanded. "Flee with your army back to Earth and you have my word, no harm will come to you today."
"Brainiac has already positioned his units and armies," Grodd stated. "I've come with an army as well. Do you really believe that the two of you can hold a candle against us?"
"An army of ours is coming," Diana said. "Brainiac will fail. As will you if you try to take this Earth. Be it today, tomorrow, or any day."
"If you are so confident that you're superior to my army," Grodd growled. "Why not prove yourselves now?"
Diana and Arthur exchanged a glance before the two of them nodded. In a split second, Diana clashed her two wrist bracelets together as a sonic shockwave emerged, striking at Grodd and the rest of his army. Arthur flipped his trident skillfully with his one hand while Diana drew her sword and shield. The two warriors rushed at Grodd and his army as they engaged in the fight.
In his mothership shaped like a skull, at several thousand feet into the atmosphere, Brainiac stood near a glass panel, watching from above. He watched as several of his dropships and soldiers decimated human militaries across the globe. Numerous fronts had been opened across the world. Most in Europe, Asia, North America. Earth 1 was falling and it was falling faster than the Collector of Worlds had anticipated.
"My lord," a Dominator that approached called to him. "We're ready."
"Very well." Brainiac replied calmly and stoically.
Brainiac turned around as his several, mechanical and technological tentacles lifted his body to his chair. In front of him, numerous cameras appeared as he inhaled a slight, calm breath before speaking.
"Hello citizens of planet Earth," Brainiac began coldly. "I am Brainiac, the Collector of Worlds. And your world is mine for taking…"
A/N: Apologies if this was underwhelming, but after not posting in so long, I just wanted to finish this chapter and it got pretty long pretty quickly. I'll try to post quicker but like I said, I'm busy as f*ck these days, but I'll try. The next chapter should just be the heroes uniting and their first battle.
