Neptune was a 7 year old girl when she first saw her
Neptune was doing what she normally does
Meaning she's not listening to what her mother told her to do and went to the forested area near her house to catch bugs
And there she heard an unusual sound, she followed the sound (carefully and silently all sneaky like)
In a clearing not far from where she was, was where she saw her
Long lilac hair tied into a ponytail with a D-Pad clip keeping her hair out of her deep purple eyes, wearing a black and lilac sailor dress
Fighting, no, practicing by facing off against invisible enemies
Swinging her katana thats arcing with electricity in her right hand as well as a energy pistol in her left
It was mesmerizing to watch
And she would have been watching until the older girl was done with her training for the day if her watch didn't vibrate on her wrist to tell her to go back home
It's a few weeks later and Neptune didn't know why she made her way over to the clearing
All she knew was that she wanted to go to that clearing again and watch the older girl train again
It's basically the same thing like the last couple of times except she actually has her mom's permission this time
Like last time she was hidden behind a bush watching the Lilac Haired girl train instead of looking for new bug to add to her specimen collection
It was going as normal until the girl suddenly stopped
She undid the safety on her pistol and took off in her direction just in time for Neptune to hear growling from behind her
Her mom always told her to be careful of the woods because there are wolves that hunt there
Neptune also knew that the wolves don't hunt as close to the edge of the forest where she is right now
So what she's seeing now is a once in a blue moon encounter and she wasn't at all prepared to run like she promised he mom that she would
Thankfully she didn't need to do anything as the girl that she was watching dashed in front of her and stabbed her blade into the skull of the wolf
But wolves like the one that just tried to eat her travel in packs
sure enough a bunch of them pounced at them
The older girl quickly turned around and picked Neptune up and dashed into the center of the clearing where they cant be ambushed by more wolves
"Are you ok?" her hero asks her with a soft voice
Neptune just nods her head, her eyes prickled with tears
"Would you like me to take you home?" she asked with a gentle smile
Neptune nodded and tried to get up, only to fall into her much to the young girl's embarrassment
Her hero just chuckled softly before picking her up and carrying her towards the city
Once they reached the city her hero asked which way they needed to go in order to get her home
At some point in their short trip from the city entrance and her home Neptune started talking about anything and everything that comes to mind
One thing that Neptune did talk a lot about during the walk back was her love of bugs and how interesting they are to her
Neptune is very perspective for her age, she could tell that the older girl (like her mom) didn't like bugs (much to her disappointment)
But instead of changing the subject she just let neptune go on without stopping her despite how uncomfortable she felt humming every so often to let the girl in her arms know that she is listening
When they did reach her home was when she asked her a question "what do you want to do when you grow up?"
The answer came as easy as breathing to the 7 year old "i wanna catch all the unique bugs in the world" she said with the brightest smile on her face
The older girl just smiled at her and gave her a gift
A notebook, a notebook with the ability to shrink and store almost anything, the NepNote as she called it
She said that she would one day come and see how many new and unique bugs she's caught by then
Just as the older girl was leaving, Neptune remembered her manners and gave a albeit late introduction and asked her hero her name
"Nepgear" she said with a small smile
Neptune was definitely not going to forget her hero Nepgear
But right now, she had to tell her mom what happened and who saved her
She really hopes to meet Nepgear again
