"Enough with the flashy standoff!" Buggy shouted. "Buggy Pirates! Let's begin our opening act!"
Phoenix flapped his wings flying forward; he was confident he could beat the wingless beast standing in front of him. He could recognize the look on its unfeathered face, the beast was confused but he'd soon morph that into fear. He'd become the strongest chicken known to chickenkind, even stronger than the legendary cockatrice. He clashed with his enemy, the unfeathered taking a step back at his overwhelming strength.
He pressed forward, spinning past his enemy's staff and unleashing a peck on her face, leaving a shallow cut on her cheek. The beast shrieked, clucking something he couldn't understand. He understood the point though, she was hurt, he harmed the massive creature. It was weak, nowhere near as scary as the one that tore bones from his body and shocked him to death. He'd win this fight and prove that he's the best.
Nami swung her staff, the attack stopped by the chicken's wing. She noticed it was in pain just for it to recover a moment later and attack fiercely. "What are you?!" She yelled, struggling to keep up with the small animal. It flew past her guard again, she stepped back, unleashing a kick in fear. The chicken cried out, she could feel its bones breaking from the attack and immediately dropped her leg. She didn't want to kill it. Her confusion and fear climbed when she saw it stand up, clucking angrily, pointing at her with its wing.
Phoenix dashed forward, he wasn't going to let that disrespect slide. His anger climbed when the unfeathered turned around and began running. It was trying to escape, he wouldn't allow it. He followed after her as she ran around the rooftop. She threw a multitude of objects at him, she clearly didn't understand, nothing could stop god. The greatest chicken in the world couldn't be stopped by such weak projectiles. He dodged around the objects, breaking through a few until suddenly a sword cut him in half.
"Phoenix!"
"Stay back." The green haired swordsman said to the girl as he dodged a spear made from bone. "I can't protect you and fight them at the same time so stay out of it." He ordered.
"You just killed my chicken!" I yelled. "He was an innocent animal and you cut him in half!" I knew he'd recover, but I had a flair for dramatics.
"Innocent?!" Nami shouted. "That thing was trying to kill me!"
"Oh pipe down princess, he was just playing with you. You just keep reading the situation wrong, I wasn't even gonna kill you, I know Arlong doesn't like humans. It was clear to me you're a slave." I told her. "Even though I was kidding you still had these idiots attack our base while everyone was sleeping. That won't be forgiven."
Zoro seemed convinced. Nami looked down, about to apologize until Silas spoke up. "Darius, stop manipulating them, we both know you wanted this fight."
"They didn't know that!" I yelled. "Now look what you did, you messed up Phoenix's sneak attack." I told him as the chicken in question attacked Nami again, the girl reacting from my words and blocking the attack.
"Yeah no, I think you messed that one up." Cabaji cut in.
I crossed my arms, turning away. "Well I'm still going to blame Doc."
"Real mature…" Silas deadpanned.
"Didn't I just kill that thing?" Zoro asked as he watched Phoenix attack Nami.
"It's name is Phoenix for a reason, even if you kill him, he won't die." I explained. "That's common sense."
"What?" Zoro took Wado out of his mouth. "When I kill people they usually die, that's common sense."
"No it isn't, when I kill people they don't always die. That's the reality of this world." I countered.
"I've been a bounty hunter for a long time and took a pay cut on quite a few pirates because they died when I killed them, they never suddenly came back to life when I turned them in." He argued.
"Yeah okay." I turned to the others. "Are we gonna just stand here or start fighting? All this talking is starting to drag on."
Phoenix attacked relentlessly, after he was done with this beast he'd deal with the one that cut him in half. He always knew the unfeathered had no sense of honor, who attacks an enemy when their back is turned?
Nami tried desperately to block the incoming attacks but the chicken wouldn't stop, she noticed a crack in her staff but it was too late as it shattered and the chicken landed a kick to her chest. She slid back throwing her arms up in defense as Phoenix continued his assault. 'Why is it so strong?' She thought as her defenses were overwhelmed and the chicken slammed into her head, the world going black.
Phoenix pushed the massive thing to the ground putting it's foot on its head and stretching his wing to the sky with his version of a roar.
Everyone in the clearing looked over, Buggy's smile widening as he let out a laugh. Luffy balled his fist his anger easily visible. Zoro groaned not saying a thing but it was easy to tell where this was going, he tied his haramaki around his head clenching his blades just a bit harder. My eyes hardened.
"Alright, this is no longer a game, from now on we're fighting for our lives." For the first time since I fought the cannibals I began to feel pressure, this wasn't just some enemy, they were the main characters, favored by the world itself. "They aren't enemies we could beat by joking around, not like the rest. For once Coco, choose fear."
"There's five of us and we've had the upper hand so far." Cabaji remarked. "I refuse to believe he's that strong."
"Well if you don't start believing, you might lose your life." I told him. A moment later Zoro blitzed forward, the devil's grin on his face.
...
Zoro rushed Cabaji, aiming for the man's neck. Mohji snapped his whip, grabbing hold of the sword before it could make contact. "Get 'im Richie!" The lion slashed with outstretched claws just for the attack to be parried by one of Zoro's other blades while the third one took one of the lion's paws. Richie roared in pain, moving a few paces back.
I dashed in immediately, knowing that I'd have to take him head on if we wanted to win. "I'll handle defense, you guys deal damage whenever you can." With the collective nods of the group I clashed with the swordsman, his strength causing my arms to shake.

"Bone art: Execution." I called, aiming three bone swords at his back.
The green haired man disengaged turning and cutting the bone swords to pieces. Silas charged forward aiming for his blind spot but the attack was parried, a bone wall forming just in time to stop Zoro from countering. Mohji cracked his whip, taking hold of the swordsman's leg and pulling it out from under him. "Bone art: Cursed Cell!" I called, seeing my opportunity, forming a power cell while simultaneously wrapping him in cursed hands.
"Acrobatics! Old man's flame!" Cabaji yelled.
"Foxglove!" Silas roared, dashing through the flames and grabbing hold of Zoro's arm as I dropped the cell, unleashing one of his needles into the swordsman's body.
"Special Slideshow!" Mohji cracked his whip, taking hold of Zoro's waist and spinning him. "Finish this!" He shouted at me.
Nodding, I jumped forward, coating my arm in bone while letting lightning course through my fist. "Imploding spark fist!" The clearing was filled with light as the bone shattered, cutting into Zoro's body and sending him flying back.
Thinking we won I dropped my guard until a voice filled the clearing. "Gum Gum Slingshot!" We had sent the swordsman flying toward his captain, who allowed him to use his body as a spring, jumping off at high speeds, his swords returning to their sheathes. "Ittoryu Iai: Shishi Sonson!"
"Bone wall!" I brought my hand up, a wall following after.
"One of you will fall." I heard as the swordsman switched targets, too quick for me to react. A moment later his sword clashed with another, Cabaji jumping in front of Zoro's intended target, Mohji. Zoro easily sliced through the acrobats weapon making contact with his chest and cutting through. Immediately preparing another attack that hit Mohji. The two fell to the floor but not before the acrobat could create a cloud of dust. Silas jumped towards the location dragging the men out of the fight to treat them.
Zoro looked around waiting for an attack, he was able to cut his enemies down to just the one, he was hurt but he'd win.
I backed off going over to Silas. "Are they alright?"
"They're alive but barely, I'll have to stay here to treat them." He told me.
"Alright, I'll take him on alone, he's been weakened, as long as I'm careful I should be able to win." I pulled the muramasa from my inventory and dashed into the smokescreen set by Cabaji. With my vision impaired I closed my eyes, allowing my Electroreception to guide me. I could feel the man in the center of the cloud, he clearly didn't want to waste an attack clearing the dust. I attacked immediately, even though his vision was impaired he was still able to react.
"You'll have to try harder than that." Zoro taunted. "I can feel a blade aimed at my throat from a mile away. You'll never sneak up on me like that." He deflected the attack, not giving me a chance to vanish into the smoke and closing the distance in an instant. "You're unskilled." He smirked, aiming for my neck.
I focused all the bone I could on the area but at the last moment his blade changed trajectory and took my arm. "Can't even handle a simple feint." I jumped back as my arm reformed blocking the overwhelming assault of the more skilled swordsman. My health was falling fast. "You're an idiot." Zoro spoke, his sword slowing down for a moment. "Despite what you said, you don't see this as life or death. Your sword, it's hesitant, it isn't just a lack of skill, you think it'll all be okay if you lose. You don't think I'd kill you." His smile fell. "It's wannabe swordsmen like you that I hate the most, picking up a sword because you think it'll be fun."
I felt my blood run cold, fear building up far more than it ever had before. "This world will be better off without a swordsman like you. Even Yosaku's sword is more sure than yours." He pulled out his other two blades. "I'll give you a choice, drop your sword and stop playing at being a samurai or die."
I let bone coat my fist, ready to drop the sword so I could survive but before I could I felt a hand grab hold of the sword. I looked down, seeing a hand form from the bone and hold on to the sword before it could hit the ground. I smiled, I couldn't drop the blade, my pride was at stake. I said it before when fighting X, I can't allow myself to go out like a bitch. If holding the sword angered Zoro and made him fight harder, then it'll only benefit me if I live and if I die, I won't have to worry about it anymore. A smile adorned my face as I looked at the swordsman in front of me, dying to Zoro would be a worthy death. "If it angers you, don't hold back, fighting seriously letting my emotions influence me has never been my style. Treat me as you would Mihawk, prove to me that you're worth the title of world's greatest swordsman." I let the skeleton hand wrap around the blade's hilt and let it float beside me. "Don't disappoint our dear Kuina, losing to a wannabe swordsman would make her roll over in her grave. Bone art: phantom sword." A strong breeze blew threw the clearing, removing the dust.
...
"I won't forgive you for that." Luffy growled looking at the defeated Nami.
"Forgive me? No, I won't forgive you. No one insults my nose and gets away with it." Buggy replied. "Not to mention that Straw Hat, seeing it irritates me. Reminds me of a guy I knew long ago. That flashy red haired bastard. What's your goal here?"
"Red hair?" Luffy asked. "You know Shanks?"
"Answer the question brat." Buggy spat, pulling out his blades. "What's your goal?"
"Saving her sister." Luffy said pointing at Nami.
"I don't even know her!" Buggy yelled. "I admit I did take this island over but she is not one of the residents and I haven't specifically harmed anyone except for the soldiers that fought back. They're not even prisoners, they can leave whenever they want, well except the doctor, he was a prisoner…"
"Arlong is the one you want." Coconut said, having heard the conversation I had earlier with Nami despite being half asleep. "Sir was only having fun, he wouldn't have killed her. She's a thief looking to steal a map to buy back a town or something, I think a little threat was well within our rights."
"A map?" Buggy and Luffy chorused.
"You mean the map to the grandline that Cabaji found?" Buggy asked, deciding not to mention it was stolen. "Petty thieves."
Luffy smiled. "A map to the grandline? That's even better, I'm not a thief, I'm a pirate, I'll be taking that map. If she wants it that means she can read it, I decided she'll be my navigator and since she's hurt, you'll have to pay the price."
Coconut seemed shocked. "You can't just find a random justification for us to fight, you could've just called it off."
Luffy shrugged. "Random, you hurt my navigator, that's a good reason."
"She never even agreed to join your crew!" Coconut shouted.
Luffy cocked his head. "Are you an idiot? If I say she's on my crew then she's on my crew."
"That's not how that…" Coconut began to shout until he realized how Silas joined their crew.
"Even if he did want to call it off, I wouldn't let him, he insulted my nose remember?" Buggy cut in.
Coconut knew it had been Darius that insulted his Captain's nose but he remained silent. If they had to fight, he'd need him to be motivated. That was when a swordsman flew into the middle of the fight and rocketed off of the straw hat teen. A moment later and the three of them were stuck in a cloud of dust.
Coconut jumped back noticing Jay talking to Silas with an injured Cabaji and Mohji laying nearby. He wanted to go over and help them but he was entrusted with this fight so he'd help his captain to the end.
"Damn it Cabaji!" Buggy shouted as his head floated above the cloud. "What did I tell you about creating a smokescreen when I'm fighting?! Only do it on my command!"
Luffy stretched out his arm grabbing the first thing he could and flying over, landing on top of the tent, coughing up dust. "It's all dusty now." He said, wiping the dust from his hat. "Gum Gum Balloon!" He breathed in deeply, storing as much air as he could before exhaling, blowing away the dust. "Alright hand over the map." He ordered, his hand out expectantly.
Buggy called his head back. "Chop Chop: Cannon!" He yelled, shooting his arm forward with knives in his hand. Luffy caught the arm struggling to keep it away from his face. "Separate!" The clown called as his arm split, his hand shooting forward, Luffy narrowly dodging, suffering a cut on his cheek.
Luffy flew forward stretching his arms back. "Gum Gum Bazooka!"
"Chop Chop Emergency escape?!" Buggy yelled, his body splitting in half, the teens attack flying through the open space. Buggy slammed down with an overhead attack, knocking Luffy into the ground but dealing no damage. "Chop Chop…" He started as his body split into tens of pieces. "Festival!" His body parts began to swarm Luffy, blades cutting into him from all sides as he held his hat to his chest. "Is that all you got?" Buggy hiccuped.
Luffy dropped his guard, his arms flying back as his hat was skewered by three blades. "Gum Gum Gatling!" The boy yelled as his fist began striking down every piece of the pirate Captain.
"Back off!" Coconut shouted, slamming his pincers into the teen, sending him flying.
"That won't work!" Luffy declared, bouncing back to his feet.
"Crab Gatling!" Coconut followed up but the attacks hit the rubber boy's body and flew back at him, forcing him to raise his shield. "His body is actual rubber? I thought it was an expression."
"He's been stretching his body this entire time you flashy idiot!" Buggy roared.
"Sorry Captain." Coconut replied sheepishly.
"Gum Gum Pistol." Luffy yelled, ramming his fist into the unsuspecting crab. Coconut flew across the clearing, flying off the building. "Now it's a fair fight."
Buggy downed a cup of water that his hand brought from the tent. "I'm still a little hungover but thanks to this flashy display, I'm sobering up a little bit. I'd never lose to a wannabe pirate."
Luffy frowned, clenching his fist. "I'm gonna become King of the Pirates, I'm not losing to a red nosed clown!"
Buggy's smile twitched. "Again… you insulted me again?" Knives appeared in his hands, blades piercing through different parts of his body. "You're dying today, I'll make sure to let red hair know I'm the one who did it, I'll give him your head as payback for what he did to me back when we were crewmates."
...
"Oni Giri!" Zoro growled lashing out with three blades.
"Too slow." I smirked, jumping back and aiming for a stab with the controlled blade. The swordsman reached for the blade but before he could grab hold I dashed back in. "Imploding Spark fist!"
He deflected the attack, his two extra blades rising above Wado as a tiger formed behind him. "Santoryu: Tora Gari!" The two blades descended, taking both my arms and half of my health, leaving the swordsman confused when no sign of blood was shown.
I controlled my blade cutting into the swordsman's stomach while he was caught off guard. My arms reformed, the pain disappearing. "Scary, aren't ya? You could've killed me but you aimed to disarm me, literally."
Zoro coughed up blood as I pulled the Muramasa from his body. "I could say the same, you didn't aim for my heart. What the hell are you?"
"I can't have you dying here, I still need you and I'm sure if I did aim for your heart your instincts would've kicked in and avoided the attack. As for what I am? I'm the Vice Captain of the Buggy Pirates… on second thought, maybe while I'm here I'll aim for the title of World's Strongest Swordsman."
"Strongest Swordsman" He steadied his stance. "That's a title reserved for me, you'll make a great stepping stone. All power and no skill, someone like you could never be a real swordsman." He leaned forward ready to dash. "Santoryu…"
I jumped back, creating bone arrows and shooting them forward. Zoro used two of his blades to cut down the arrows, dodging around the attacks he couldn't get to in time. Once in range he used his third katana aiming for my chest. "Toro Nagashi!"
"Bone wall!" I brought up two walls as defense, both being cut through with ease.
On the other side Zoro began to spin. "Santoryu…" I called back my sword as fast as I could, calling upon anything I could use to defend. "Tatsu Maki!" He finished as a dragon like tornado crashed into my blade, knocking it away before reaching me, cutting my sides and launching me into the air, helpless. "I'm ending this now." Zoro held two of his swords at an angle, rotating them rapidly. "Santoryu Ogi…" I began to panic as I began my descent, right in the path of his blades, I had no movement options, no way to evade mid air, my sword wouldn't fly back in time and I didnt have bone strong enough to endure a direct attack. I had to think fast. "Sanzen Sekai!" His voice rang out through the clearing, knowing his blades were imminent, I covered my hand with as much bone as I could in the short time that I had. I turned, pointing it out towards his blades as pain pierced my body.
Zoro appeared on the other side going to put his blades back in his sheathes only to be met with confusion. One of them was missing. I stood up, the pain giving me a headache before it could disappear. "Not done just yet." I smirked, holding my head.
Zoro took Wado out of his mouth. "What did you do?"
I smiled. "Never met a magician? Just a little sleight of hand to avoid a fatal attack." I brought his third sword out of my inventory before waving over it and letting it disappear again. "I grabbed it the moment it touched my palm. If that attack went through it would've taken the remainder of my health, better to take two cuts than three." I pulled the muramasa towards me, returning it to my inventory, allowing my muscles to relax. "Now, let's continue our fight." I rushed forward covering my fist in bone as I clashed with the man. "I was going to finish this fight honorably but I'm a pirate." I opened my fist touching his blade, letting it disappear into my inventory, the two swords different enough that it counted as another item and maxed out the space.
"Again." Zoro disengaged, holding Wado as tightly as he could.
"You better hold on tightly, you might lose them all." I transferred the bone to my legs leaving my hands open as I jumped back in, aiming a kick at his side. He parried the attack taking a step forward with a perfect riposte, I grabbed hold of his arm leading the attack off of me before slamming my knee into his stomach and following up by taking his legs out from under him. "Is that all?" I asked, slamming my foot down only meeting the ground as he rolled to the side. "Bone Art: Crescent blade!" I kicked again, the bone sliding off my leg forming into a sickle. Zoro jumped to his feet deflecting the attack. I attacked with the other leg the bone forming into bullets as I dashed forward.
The swordsman jumped back kicking a table up as a shield, I smashed through it but he vanished reappearing behind me, my electroreception allowing me to sense his attack and sidestep before his blade could pierce my heart. I grabbed his arm feeling the bone beneath his skin. "Fracture." I pushed my hand up, breaking the bone clean in half before throwing him into the tent, the structure creaking as he slammed against one of the pillars holding it up. "Electrocute!"
[Roronoa Zoro has been affected by paralysis.]
I almost cheered as I charged electricity in my fist, further empowering it with bone. "Imploding spark fist!" The attack hit his chest, the bone shattering and piercing his body, his eyes rolling to the back of his head as I pulled back. The tent shaking before fully collapsing, leaving him trapped underneath only his head visible.

Silas was speechless. "He really pulled it off." He whispered, only Phoenix close enough to hear him.
The bird raised its wing to the sky with a victory call, the unfeathered got what he deserved, nobody was allowed to cut him in half.
I laughed falling to my knees and dropping Zoro's blades at his head. "It was a good fight, a couple months ago I wouldn't have even dreamed of fighting you, let alone winning. Maybe one day I'll be able to beat you even when you're using all three blades." I gave a short bow before turning away as a loud explosion concluded Buggy's fight.
...
Coconut finally reached the top of the building, his body in pain from the fall. Regardless of that, he kept moving, he had to find a way to help his captain. He searched the rooftop, his eyes eventually landing on a cannon. An idea immediately popped into his head, he moved towards the tent passing by Silas without a word and dodging around the fight between the Swordsman and Darius.
Once inside he made it to his Captain's half of the tent, beneath the man's bed hidden away for only his personal use were two Buggy Balls, freshly created. He picked one up running back outside, carrying it to the cannon.
"Captain!" He whispered, grabbing hold of Buggy's head while the strawhat was distracted by the dismembered limbs.
"Let me go, you flashy moron!" The red nosed man shouted.
Coconut held on firmly. "You can yell at me later, for now I need you to get him as high in the sky as you can. I found a way to take him down."
Buggy looked down, seeing the red cannonball. "I thought we went over this! He's rubber! It'll bounce back!" He yelled.
"Just trust me on this, if you can get him into the air, we can win." Coconut promised him.
"You mean to say I can't win on my own?" Buggy growled. "Fine, but if this fails you'll be awarded a flashy execution."
Coconut smiled. "I won't fail you Captain!'
Buggy clicked his tongue. "Be sure that you don't."
Luffy attacked relentlessly, trying to take apart the storm of limbs but he was constantly getting attacked from all sides, the blades cutting deep into him. All he needed was one chance, one clear shot and he could end this fight but it wasn't coming. From behind a foot slammed into his back the blade piercing the skin.
"Chop Chop Kick!" Buggy shouted. "Chop Chop Punch!" He followed up as a punch came from the other side hitting the teens jaw forcing his neck to stretch.
"Gum Gum bell!" Luffy swung his head back for a headbutt but the attack was dodged.
"Chop Chop Cannon!" Buggy sent both of his arms forward at once. Luffy ducked, thinking he avoided the attack until he felt his body being lifted up, knives digging into his shirt as he was lifted into the air, the dismembered limbs kept coming, sending him higher and higher into the sky until suddenly everything stopped.
Luffy looked around seeing no sign of Buggy's assault. "That's as high as I can take him!" Buggy yelled over to Coconut. "Hurry up with whatever you're going to do!"
Luffy looked down seeing a cannon pointed directly at him, the eyes of the boy behind determined to end this. "Sneak attack!" Coconut yelled as the cannon fired.
Luffy breathed in with a smile. "I'll just bounce it back! Gum Gum Balloon!"
Coconut drew his bow. "Sorry but I planned for that." He pulled back the string and fired, the Buggy Ball sunk into Luffy's stomach about to fly back until an arrow followed through and struck the bomb. "We win!" Coconut declared as a massive explosion lit up the air.
I grinned at the sight, moving away from Zoro. As the smoke cleared Luffy's body fell from the sky, his body sporting several burns but otherwise healthy, his clothes and hat somehow intact. 'Nothing short of a nuke was taking you out, maybe I'll come to regret not joining you.' I gave a short bow to him as well before turning to the others, everyone injured except Phoenix with his immortality and Halftail who didn't participate in the fight. "We did it!" I cheered. "Now how about we leave this island before anyone wakes up, we got a grandline to conquer!"
"Hell no!" Silas rejected the idea. "We are all staying right here until we're well enough to travel! I'll give them a dose of poison, put them into a coma and give them a drop of blood before we head out."
I was about to try and convince him until a thud could be heard to my left. I looked over, both Coconut and Buggy passing out from exhaustion. I took another look at my remaining health and sighed. "Alright we'll stay for a bit."
Phoenix looked between the two, so weak, growing tired from such an easy fight. If it were just him he would've taken all three of them on his own with both wings tied behind his back.
"Good work Phoenix." I scooped the creature up into my arms, scratching the top of his head. "Couldn't have done it without you."
Phoenix leaned into the touch, pride filling his small body. He'd let the unfeathered have this, it was the least he could do for a loyal fan, just this once he'd give the creature the honor of touching him.
Halftail lazily growled something and if Phoenix didn't know any better, he'd think the fourleg was mocking him for being held by the brown beast.
Phoenix immediately began yelling at the creature, he'd show him, one day he would be leading this group of unfeathered, he'd ride the fourleg into battle with a leash around his neck. He'd be the strongest creature in this world, the next king of the chickens! That right there, was a promise

Aren Gisly: Any non canon characters will not directly join the crew but they may join the crew. I prefer Gem personally but he doesn't have a spot on the crew that he can fill. Also I only want one person from each individual group otherwise I could fill the group with baroque and be good which feels like it lacks creativity. Also I don't think Phoenix would be too happy about having another on the crew. He's the one and only Phoenix after all, you're talking about the guy that fought against Don Accino right?

Final Thoughts
I love writing from the chicken's perspective, it's so fun. You will definitely be seeing more of that whether you like it or not.
I'm fully aware I can't write a proper sword fight, which means my character Darius, is aware he can not use a sword. I decided to stop trying to figure it out, instead I'll use the sword through bone art.
I didn't know which side would win this fight until the end of my fight with Zoro. I decided to allow my 'electrocute' to decide, if it activated paralysis then I would beat Zoro and Buggy would beat Luffy. If not then I'd lose to Zoro and Buggy would be beaten and sent away like before. 40% chance and I won, I can not stress how happy I was. It's a random number generator, 1-5. 1 and 3 was a win and the others were a loss, I got a 3. No plot armor, the winner basically coming down to a flip of a coin.
