Musutafu Central Hospital

Doctor: Well, Miss Midoriya, I can say for certain that your son does have a quirk.

Doctor Tsubasa had the standard appearance of medical personnel: medium build, bald, and wore unusual glasses with cylindrical lenses. There was nothing particularly special about his appearance, except for these unique glasses which gave him a certain eccentricity.

Inko: That is quite good news...

The woman who didn't have time to finish her sentence is named Inko Midoriya. She has round green eyes, dark green straight shoulder-length hair. She is a slender woman with a small spiky ponytail at the back of her head.

Doctor: I haven't finished. While I can confirm that he has a quirk, I cannot say what kind. The only reason we did not immediately dismiss the presence of a quirk based on the additional joint in his pinky is the strange formation, resembling a third lung, found under his heart when we examined his medical record. At that time, he was too young for a deeper examination, but now we have been able to check and established that it is most likely an energy storage. However, we do not know what kind of energy and what it is used for. What we do know is that his quirk factor has similarities with data characteristic of transformation quirks, although not completely. My guess is that it is a teleportation quirk based on energy accumulation. But since you lack signs of accumulating anything, I would advise you to vary your diet and increase physical activity. Usually, accumulation quirks are linked to their impact, and likely yours is related to kinetic energy. So, try running more. That is what I can tell you.

The doctor, as much as possible, removed medical terms from his explanation so that his patients could understand what he was saying. But judging by their expressions, they understood very little. He took a deep breath and tried to simplify it.

Doctor: To put it simply, we have a hard time determining exactly what kind of quirk your son has, but it is likely that it accumulates some energy for teleportation in his additional organ under his heart. Therefore, I advise you to try including more variety in his diet and lead a more active lifestyle.

Tsubasa turned and addressed the boy, who had been silently trembling and clutching a toy, trying to listen attentively to the doctor from the beginning.

This boy is four-year-old Izuku Midoriya, with bright green eyes and thick, dark green hair. His appearance radiates the energy and curiosity typical of children his age, dressed in comfortable children's clothes. It is his quirk that the doctor is trying to explain.

Doctor: Listen, Izuku, if you ever feel any strange sensations here, tell your mom, okay?

As he said this, Tsubasa pointed directly to the spot under his heart so the boy would understand. After that, he turned to the elder Midoriya.

Doctor: And as soon as you think it is related to his quirk, let me know, and I'll schedule an appointment.

The four-year-old boy still had questions, but he didn't get a chance to ask them. While he was trying to understand what the doctor had said, his mother had already said goodbye to Tsubasa and led him out of the hospital. As soon as they got into the car, he finally decided to ask his mother about what the doctor had said.

Izuku: Mom, so my quirk is tele-porta-tion, like the power of the hero who recently appeared in Korea named Sanga?

The elder Midoriya let out a small laugh at Izuku's attempt to pronounce it correctly.

Inko: It's pronounced teleportation, and yes. Remind me, dear, what do you remember about his quirk?

Midoriya furrowed his brow and began to mumble.

Izuku (mumbling): Sanga is a hero from Korea who recently rose to an international level in the hero rankings. His quirk allows him to quickly appear wherever he looks. Because of this, he moves very efficiently and apprehends villains. He also always carries a stick, I think they called it a Bo staff...

Inko looked at her son with love as he mumbled about the hero and his information. Inko understood that her son was much smarter than many of his peers, which didn't allow him to make as many friends as he could have, but she was glad that at least Katsuki was friends with him. She had been worried that Izuku wouldn't have a quirk, since her grandmother didn't have one. And she still remembered all her stories about the treatment of the quirkless, and it was almost a century ago when there were far more quirkless people than there are now.

When Izuku and his mother went to the playground the next day, he was so happy to tell his friends about his quirk. Even though he still couldn't pronounce what his quirk did and couldn't activate it yet, he managed to find simple descriptions online of what it was supposed to do.

So, the young boy saw a group of kids near a tree, recognizing his friends, and he ran up to them, happily greeting them.

But within a few minutes of starting to talk, he was no longer happy. It turned out that if you couldn't show your quirk, no one would believe you had one.

Although at first, when he told them about it and said he couldn't use it yet, many believed him. But Katsuki Bakugo, Midoriya's best friend, said he was lying because he was useless and had no quirk.

Katsuki is a four-year-old boy with light skin. He has short, spiky, sandy-blonde hair with uneven bangs hanging over his eyebrows. He has sharp, bright red eyes. His personality is very proud, and his quirk only supports this.

Bakugo's quirk is called "Explosion" - it allows him to secrete a nitroglycerin-like sweat from his palms and ignite it on command, which lets him create powerful explosions. Midoriya also calls him Kacchan.

A month passed, and Izuku still hadn't felt any changes in the spot where the doctor had pointed. This upset him a lot. Additionally, he became an outcast among his peers, not only because they thought he was quirkless but also because, in their opinion, he was lying. And Bakugo only fueled the fire of hatred.

And so the years went by. In the first year of elementary school, a few months before his 7th birthday, things got worse. Katsuki began picking on another kid because that kid didn't want to play the villain in their game.

Katsuki and his two friends started bullying the boy to the point where he fell on his backside and began crying. Midoriya saw this and decided that Kacchan was going too far.

Standing in front of the boy, Midoriya said,

Izuku: Kacchan, stop! Can't you see he's already crying? Why are you doing this to him?

Katsuki: Why? Because he doesn't know his place. He thinks with his quirk he can be on the same level as me. And you, Deku, you want to stop me? How? You're useless, quirkless.

Saying this, Bakugo began making small explosions in his palms. His two friends also activated their quirks, trying to scare him.

After that, he and his friends attacked Izuku and "taught him a lesson." Midoriya tried to resist, but he had no chance against three kids with quirks. Even though he had been training, thinking that he was physically weak and needed to get stronger to activate his quirk, they were still too young for a small difference in strength to help him. And it didn't help that Katsuki was also training, making them equal in physical strength.

After ten minutes of being beaten, Midoriya lay on the ground. The boy he was protecting had long since run away, and Katsuki and his goons had already left. Midoriya lay there, trying to understand why his friend had changed so much and hoping that Kacchan would come back someday.

Three years had passed since the visit to the doctor.

Not much had changed. Midoriya still couldn't activate his quirk. Katsuki continued to bully and humiliate Izuku, not believing in his quirk, and the whole kindergarten group and park friends followed suit. Because of this, Midoriya didn't have a single friend. However, he continued to hope and considered Bakugo his friend. Because of this, he hid his burns and bruises so that Katsuki wouldn't get into trouble.

Today is Midoriya's seventh birthday, and tomorrow is his first day at Aldera Elementary School. Izuku hoped that there he would be able to make friends.

He walked to the kitchen, smelling his favorite dish. But as soon as he came out and met his mother's eyes, her eyes widened in worry, and just as she was about to say something, Izuku saw a flash of light, then his head started spinning, and the last thing he saw was that he was falling from the sky.
