Dream or Reality?

Summary: What happens when our favorite Slayer plays a game before bed?

AN: Hello my lovely readers! Okay, this came about during the brainstorming my family did months ago. One of my hubby's favorite games is Skyrim. He's been playing it for over a decade now and I thought it would be fun to have a BtVS/Skyrim crossover, so, here you go! LOL It's just a quick little thing but was fun to write. Thanks for checking it out and hope you all have a great day/night!

Disclaimer: I make no money with this.

BtVS & Skyrim

Buffy opened her eyes as she yawned. Last night had been a busy night for the slayer and the Scoobies. Vampires seemed to be coming at them from all directions. When not fighting vamps, demons were doing their best to not be left out. It was weird, weird enough that Giles had gone back and promptly started researching if there was an apocalypse on the horizon. They hoped not.

As Buffy got out of bed, she heard voices. Had her friends stayed over last night? She didn't think so but someone was in her house. Deciding it had to be her friends; Buffy grabbed her clothes to head for the shower. When she opened her door, she froze…where in the hell was she?

Instead of stepping out, Buffy closed her door and dressed, the shower put on hold for the moment. When she reopened her door, she peered out before rubbing her eyes, nope, still the same. She took a step out and shut her door as she peered over a railing.

It looked like she was in a hotel of some sort. How in the blazes had she gotten here? Buffy searched her memories, she didn't think she had stepped through any portal or crossed a witch that had that much power. As she took in her surroundings, she couldn't help but feel it was familiar. The furniture was all made from wood and none of it had cushions or pillows of any kind. There were people milling about and several seated around various tables. When Buffy focused on the dinnerware, they were wood or metal, no ceramic or plastic dishes in sight…strange. Then she noticed most patrons had tankards instead of glasses or mugs, how very odd. Also, the clothing worn was reminiscent of times past. Where in the hell was she?

Before she could totally freak out, the most wonderful smell wafted up to her that had her stomach growling. Deciding food would be a good thing and maybe some coffee, Buffy headed down the stairs. As she descended, she was greeted by those around her.

"Morning, Dragonborn. Beautiful day isn't it?" a patron asked.

"Uh, yeah, I guess." Buffy answered in confusion.

"Don't know if you've heard…" another patron spoke to her as he walked past, still talking but she could no longer hear him.

Buffy walked up to the bar and got a friendly greeting.

"What can I do for ya?" the barkeep asked as they dried a mug.

"Um, some breakfast would be nice." Buffy answered.

"Comin' right up." The woman said as she walked away.

Buffy had no clue where the food came from but the next moment she had a plate in front of her. While eating, Buffy listened to the conversations going on around her to try to figure out what was going on.

"Maven Black-Briar wants her payment." One man said to another who looked about ready to pass out.

"Y-y-yes, tell Maven I-I-I'll have her payment this af-f-fterno-o-oon." The other man stuttered.

"Make sure you do." The one threatening stated before he walked away.

Another conversation:

"Have you seen Jacob around?" a patron asked another.

"I saw him Windhelm the other day."

"He better run further than that, I heard the Thieves Guild put a bounty on his head."

Another conversation:

"Be careful if you go to Whiterun, I hear the road is littered with bandits."

Then, as if things couldn't get any stranger, a man walked up to Buffy with a letter in his hand.

"I've been looking for you, Here you go, you're eyes only. Well, that's it, gotta go." The messenger said before he walked back out the door.

Buffy stood still, wait…Whiterun, Windhelm, Maven Black-Briar, a messenger…she had been greeted as Dragonborn…holy cow, she was in Skyrim!

Suddenly, a loud crash caused Buffy to jump out of bed. As she looked around she realized she was back in her room. Taking a deep breath to steady her nerves, Buffy murmured, "I really need to stop playing computer games before bed."
