Before we begin, there's a key you should remember:

Italic Text: Emphasis and radio-based communication. (You'll find out what that is in future chapters)
Underline: Fighter's name as franchise of origin
Finally, I do not own any characters nor settings, please be kind when leaving reviews, and I hope you enjoy it as much I do writing it!
ON WITH THE FIRST CHAPTER!
The day began like any other. People were hustling and bustling about, and the weather was forecasted as sunny, yet partially cloudy. As all this was happening, a lone figure was sitting atop a rocky cliff. Watching the beautiful sunrise. It was a pink, blob-like puffball with red feet known as Kirby.
Kirby (Kirby's Dream Land)
As he was about to relax, he saw something out of the corner of his eyes. A flash of blue light from behind him. When it cleared, it was revealed to be a man with blue overalls, a red hat, white gloves, brown shoes, and a mustache.
Mario (Super Mario Bros.)
Kirby ran up to the heroic plumber. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"Nngh…" Groaned Mario. "I think so. Where am I?"
Just as Kirby was about to explain, another flash of blue light appeared. When it cleared, another figure emerged. This one was a man with blond hair, a blue outfit, and he was carrying a sword and shield.
Link (The Legend of Zelda)
"Link?" Asked Mario. "Is that really you?"
"Mario, what's going on?" Link asked.
"That's what I'd like to know!" Exclaimed Kirby.
Afterwards, more and more people appeared in flashes of blue light. All of whom were wondering what on Earth was going on. When it seemed like everyone was finished appearing, a bright light appeared in the sky. It was coming from a large object with red and blue angel wings surrounding a ball of light that was acting as its core. Many other objects were there as well, but they were too far away for anyone to see what they were.
"What are those?" Asked Link.
"Whatever they are, they look dangerous! We'll have to take them down!" Mario proclaimed.
When everyone realized that the objects were getting closer, an anthropomorphic fox walked up to the edge of the cliff and aimed a strange-looking gun upwards in leadership. "Don't let a single one get away!" He ordered. When the smaller objects were close enough, it turned out they were all right-handed gloves with nothing else below the wrists. It was like if the larger object was controlling them.
"We'll each need to take down about ten." Assumed a man with blue hair.
"Stow your fear. It's now or never!" Said a blonde woman in a pink dress.
"We'll win this. I know we will!" Said an angel with a bow.
Just as everyone was about to attack, one of the hands began to tear away. Revealing light that was being absorbed into the main object. Soon after, the other hands were doing the same. A man with blonde hair and a futuristic-looking sword gasped as if he had a horrific vision of the future. But before he could warn anyone, the main object fired multiple beams of light. One of which was heading towards Link. And before he had a chance to react, the light engulfed him. Making him fade into nothingness. Mario and Kirby gasped at the horrific sight.
"Kirby, run!" Warned Mario before he too met the same fate.
Kirby ran as fast as his little legs could carry him. He watched in horror as each person was engulfed by the light. Some ran, some flew, others fought back. But no matter what they did, they each met the same fate as Mario and Link did.
And that's when Kirby spotted it: A Warp Star. Hopping on, he flew off with the beams of light in hot pursuit. Just as he was about to give up, he kicked into overdrive and disappeared while simultaneously shedding a tear for the others.
Darkness. That's all that Kirby saw.
The last thing he remembered was falling back to Earth after the attack, and then it was all a blank from there. At first, he assumed he was dead, but then he heard a voice. No, two voices. Neither of which sounded familiar at all. The sound was slightly muffled, but he could just barely make out what they were saying.
"So, this is the only one?" Asked a male voice.
"That's right. And he could be the one to save us all." Replied a second male voice.
"Poor guy… He must be so confused." Sighed the first male voice.
"Listen, why don't-?" The second male voice began as Kirby's vision began to return. "Oh! He's up!"
"I hope you're right about this…" The first male voice said. Kirby sat up and looked around. He was laying on a makeshift hospital bed and was hooked up to a heart monitor. The walls, floor, and ceiling were made of stone, and there were torches lighting up the room he was in. Was he underground?
Across the room was a metal door with a fogged-up window. He could make out a figure on the other side, but he couldn't tell who it was. The door slowly opened and the figure walked in. He had black hair, a dark coat, red gloves, and he had a mask over his eyes. He walked over to Kirby and kneeled down to his line of sight.
Joker (Persona 5)
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"I think so." Kirby replied. "Where am I?"
"I don't want to alarm you, but you're underground." The man explained. "You just barely survived Galeem's attack."
"Galeem?" Repeated Kirby. "Is that who it was?"
"That's right." The man nodded. "It seems like you were the only survivor…"
Kirby gasped. Many questions appeared in his mind. Each more curious than the last. Was what he said true? Why would this "Galeem" do such a thing? And more importantly…
"Is it just you and I left?" He eventually asked. The man chuckled and shook his head.
"No, there're others here. We're a resistance of sorts. Let me take you to them."

Kirby followed the man down the torch-lit hallway. More questions came to mind. Who or what was Galeem? Who were the others that were slain in the attack? And more importantly: Could he trust this resistance?
Eventually, the two reached a metallic door. After the man knocked on it, the door opened to reveal a cross between a control room, and a luxurious apartment. There was someone already there. He had dark hair, a light purple tunic, green boots, and he was carrying a sword and shield much like Link.
Eleven (Dragon Quest XI)
"Has he woken up, Joker?" The man asked.
"He has, yes." Joker replied. "Go tell the others. I'll fill him in on the details."
The man nodded and walked out of the room, Joker turned to Kirby and spoke. "Now, if you have any questions, Kirby, now would be a good time to ask them."
"Wait, how do you know my name?" He asked. "Also, what does this "Galeem" want?"
"I've been doing a bit of research on everyone who was summoned." Joker explained. "And as for your other question, it wanted to create a new world. So, it summoned the most heroic and evilest of characters to make sure nothing stood in its way of engulfing the universe in light."
Just as Kirby was about to ask something else, the door the man went through opened up and three figures stepped through. There was a bear with yellow pants and a blue backpack carrying a red bird, a man with a red hat and long, yellow hair in a ponytail, and a man who had blue hair and a sword.
Banjo and Kazooie (Banjo-Kazooie)
Terry Bogard (Fatal Fury)
Byleth (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)
Joker looked at the three newcomers and frowned. "Where's Eleven?" He asked.
"He went to go get Petey." Said the bear. After that, Eleven came back into the room holding a familiar, and dangerous-looking plant in a pot.
Piranha Plant (Super Mario Bros.)
"Whoa!" Exclaimed Kirby once he saw it. "What is that?!"
"Don't worry, Kirby. He's on our side." Reassured Joker before turning his attention to the rest of the resistance. "Okay, everyone; this is Kirby. He's the sole survivor of Galeem's attack."
"Wait, so you mean…?" Began the man with the red hat before Joker cut him off.
"That's right, Terry." He said. "No one else is left."
The man with the sword crossed his arms. Eleven noticed this. "Hey, Byleth, I'm sure this will all be sorted out."
Byleth then noticed Kirby staring at him confusingly. "Hey, are you okay?" Asked Kirby.
"He's fine, he just doesn't talk much." Eleven explained.
"That attack…" Byleth sighed. "It all happened so suddenly after we were summoned."
"Summoned?" Repeated Kirby. "This is hurting my head…"
The bird in the bear's backpack spoke next. "Lots of things don't make sense at the moment." She said. "And for the record, I'm pretty sure you're just all head."
"Kazooie!" Gasped the bear.
"What? It's true isn't it, Banjo?"
Joker cleared his throat to gain everyone's attention. "Okay, everyone, here's the situation: We have a clear view over the new land Galeem created, but since that's all we have, we'll send Kirby out there to explore, and possibly save the fallen fighters!"
"W-Wait!" Exclaimed Kirby. "You're sending me back out there!?"
"What's your point?" Asked Kazooie. "You survived, didn't you?"
"Yeah, but just barely!" Kirby argued. "What're the chances I'll survive again?"
"Everyone, calm down!" Ordered Joker. Making everyone turn to face him again. "I've seen what Kirby can do; he's stronger than any one of us could imagine! Him surviving that dreaded attack was just scratching the surface of his abilities."
After hearing that, Kirby sighed. "Okay… I guess I'm all for it…"
"Now, before you go back out there, there's something we need to give you." Said Eleven before pulling out some sort of device.
"What's that?" Asked Kirby. Eyeing the strange gadget.
"It's a two-way radio." Eleven explained. "With this, we'll be able to communicate with you while you're out in Galeem's new world."
Kirby took the device out of Eleven's hand and inhaled it. It popped down like a pill. Usually, he would've found a new power, but this time, he didn't feel any different.
"Is everything ready?" Asked Byleth.
"I believe so." Joker replied before typing away at a nearby control panel. "The coordinates are set, and we have a clear view over the land. Kirby, are you ready?"
Kirby gulped nervously. "I guess so…"
"Don't worry, we'll provide all the support we can!" Reassured Terry before giving a thumbs up.
Eleven pointed to a nearby green pipe protruding out of the wall. "That pipe over there will take you back outside. Good luck out there!" He said.
Giving a glare in determination, Kirby ran towards the pipe and jumped in.
When he emerged, Kirby found himself back outside in Galeem's new world. And just as promised, it had completely changed. Multiple balls of light were seen floating about the vast land, and Kirby was left with even more questions: What happened to the other fighters? What were those small balls of light? And more importantly…
Is it really up to him to save the entire universe?
And that concludes Chapter 1! Stay tuned for Chapter 2!
