AN: Here's the next chapter! A longer one at that too so hope you enjoy Izuku's entrance exam! Hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 21

Izuku wished he could have stayed up longer thinking about his strategy for the exam, but Shouta forced him to go to bed at midnight. The man threatened that he would drag him to bed with his capture weapon, stuff him in his yellow sleeping bag, and then sit on him to make sure he slept. Izuku wanted to call him out on his bluff, but he didn't want to test it. The man Izuku has gotten to know would follow through. Shouta said he might be able to survive on barely sleeping and coffee, but it would do Izuku no good to start off the week exhausted. Izuku wanted to say that when he was with…that man, he barely slept, but he didn't think it would go over well.

Exhausting himself wasn't how he needed to go about this and he knew that, but he was already at a disadvantage. More or less he was certainly in a bind and for the moment, was limited in what he could do with his quirk. He couldn't just use it all he wanted or he'd incapacitate himself again. Morbidly he thought that at least this time he wouldn't be in any risk of dying, but no one would appreciate the joke. Definitely not Shouta, Kacchan, Todoroki, or Iida. Hound Dog says it's good to deflect or make jokes about his situation, but as long as he was doing healthily.

Well, stress wasn't helping Izuku as Shouta informed him of the final unfortunate bits of news when they got home as if he didn't have enough to worry about. Shouta told not to tell his classmates, but finals were next week with the first couple days being the written ones while the final day of testing was the practical exam on that Thursday. They'd have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to prepare to leave for camp on Monday morning. Izuku tried his best to convince Shouta to tell him what it was, but his…dad stood strong and said no. He also said he wasn't afraid to ground him if he snooped.

Although Shouta was officially adopting him, Izuku wasn't sure where they stood on the whole 'name' status. Shouta still called him by his given name which Izuku figured as much, but he referred to him as his son when speaking about him to anyone. It made Izuku happy. Was it okay to call him Dad? His…biological father told him to refer to him as Father or Sir so Izuku didn't really have someone that took the place of Dad. He didn't think Shouta would mind, but Izuku didn't want to make it awkward. He didn't want Shouta to feel like he was in comparison to his actual father and what if Shouta didn't want to be called that?

Knock. Knock.

"Izuku, are you ready to go?" Shouta asked as he opened the door that morning.

"Yup!" Izuku said, grabbing his blazer and bag.

He was as ready as he was ever going to be. No matter what, he couldn't afford to fail.

Izuku had been quiet all day and Katsuki noticed. He bore holes in the back of the greenette's head hoping that Izuku might crack, but nothing. They greeted each other and talked as normal, but Katsuki was perturbed that Izuku couldn't tell him what and when his practical was. Izuku had been a nervous wreck and Katsuki just wanted to know if he could help, but Izuku said he couldn't. He said he couldn't tell anyone or it could be seen as cheating, but he could see the gears turning in that big head of his. Izuku was up to something. Katsuki didn't see how telling him would count as cheating but didn't pry. It wasn't like he was going to be involved in it…he was wrong when they got to heroics that afternoon and Aizawa was there instead.

"Your class today is going to be a little different and yes, this will be graded. As you all know, Midoriya is testing into the Hero Course. He's already a UA student, but what course he'll be in is yet to be determined. The UA school board has determined that Midoriya's exam will be similar to the UA entrance practical exam except instead of fighting robots, he'll be against all of you. Each one of you has a point value that only he knows. To pass he has to reach a certain point value within the twenty-minute time frame. He is allowed to do and use whatever means he can handle to pass. Your job is to make sure he doesn't. Thinking of him as an at-large villain your team is responsible for catching. Also if you don't do anything you will fail and according to the board, your place may be in jeopardy. He has a roll of capture tape, if you get this tied around you, you're out. If he takes you down where you can't go on, you're out. Same for him. He's already in the field and a buzzer will let you know when to start. Good luck."

Katsuki could see the conflict in Aizawa's eyes. He didn't like this any more than he did.

"This is bullshit." Katsuki said as they walked through Field Gamma.

"It does seem a little off to make this his practical exam. I wonder why there are such high stakes and it's 19 against 1. Seems a little unfair." Yaoyorozu said.

"I'll tell you why!" Katsuki barked. "They want to get in Izuku's way. They see him as a threat."

"How do you know that?" Hitoshi asked.

"I don't, but I have a pretty damn good feeling." Katsuki said as he turned around and started walking ahead of everyone.

"Are you saying we should find a way to help him?" Todoroki asked.

"No. We're going to do what we need to. If I know that damn nerd, he's already got ideas out of his ass on how to beat every single one of us. If we go easy or get kicked out, it won't mean a damn thing to him."

Everyone nodded agreeing with him. Izuku wouldn't go into this blind. From talking with him in class and the Sport Festival told them that he wasn't one to just wing something. He prepared for this. They needed to trust their classmate that he was able to do this on his own.

"Does anyone remember what quirks he has available?" Ojiro asked. "It might be easier to strategize if we know what we're up against."

"Correct." Iida said. "Raise your hand if Midoriya has access to your quirk."

Six hands went up and everyone looked worried for a moment. That didn't seem like much, but they were some of the more difficult to counter that could be used in several ways. Katsuki. Yaoyorozu. Hitoshi. Uraraka. Todoroki. Kirishima. The biggest threats were the two heavy hitters, Katsuki and Todoroki. They all remembered what they did to the gym and they noted that Izuku had Katsuki's for a long time so was adept at using it.

Hitoshi snorted. That wouldn't matter. He remembered talking to Izuku and asking what he'd do for the quirk apprehensive test if he had been there and how he could have used his quirk. He said he would have used Uraraka's quirk for the ball throw and if he didn't know it then just ask her to do it for him. This was all under the notion that sometimes heroes need to ask for help and technically he wouldn't have left the circle. Hitoshi chuckled as he pictured Aizawa's face at the internal debate whether to be pissed or impressed at that. He knew he could make any quirk or scenario work to his advantage. Plus he and Izuku had been working in close quarters with Aizawa. Hitoshi had faith in his friend.

"Let's not forget he's got a couple of quirks that aren't students. Like Mr. Aizawa!" Uraraka chimed in.

Todoroki and Iida looked at one another thinking the same thing. Izuku had access to the Hero Killer's quirk which would allow him to paralyze people if he swallows their blood. The question was how far would Izuku go to pass and would that include drawing blood? However, they learned that even a drop would do.

"He also has that teleportation quirk too. Ribbit." Asui said.

"Never really thought about it, but Midoriya's quirk is kind of broken." Kaminari whined.

Katsuki snorted. Not exactly when you think about the finer details. Izuku had to know exactly how the quirk worked and he had the reset time between switching quirks. Once Izuku either found a way around it or trained more then yes, Katsuki would agree. Once he gets into the hero course, Katsuki's going to have some constantly at his heels, rivaling him. He can't wait. This is what they've dreamed about. Katsuki turned his head away so no one sees his softer expression as he thinks about him and Izuku as kids claiming they'll be heroes together.

"He knows the weakness of his quirk being the reset time. From what we know it's a minute and a lot can happen in a minute so we'll make the best of that time in between." Iida said what Katsuki was thinking.

Katsuki looked over at him and saw the same worried look. Izuku might have told them he was no longer in any serious danger when using his quirk, but that was a week ago. Izuku was certainly no where he should be if he hadn't been so messed with. His quirk probably wasn't even close to 100%. Katsuki couldn't wait until this nerd really could match him and give a run for his money.

'Sorry everyone. I have to do what I need to.'

Tink!

Katsuki's eyes widened hearing a sound hit the ground.

"Get the hell back!" He shouted as he launched off the ground as a flash bang went off and a thick smoke covered the area. Instantly everyone was blinded and unable to see anything around them.

"Everyone be on your guard!"

"The kid learned how to use flash bangs and smoke bombs?" Hizashi deadpanned.

"He has Yaoyorozu's quirk." Shouta explained.

Izuku mentioned he had a couple places to go before they headed home the day before. One of them was the support department. They were finishing up some basic gear he asked for and he said he had a couple questions. The kid must have asked Power Loader or one of the other students either to make some or how to. Shouta wouldn't have been surprised if he found out through the internet how.

"I felt someone touch me!"

"Me too."

A few people shouted and started to move around aimlessly, bumping into one another. They were completely lost without their sight.

"Back the fuck off!"

A couple of others felt something too and the smoke cleared revealing people with white tape around their arms.

"I've been tagged!" Hagakure shouted as she looked at her wrist showing the tape.

"Ah man me too!" Sero said.

Hagakure has been captured!

Sero has been captured!

"Clever. He's going after students he knows that might pose an issue. Hagakure might be able to get the jump on him and Sero can capture him from a distance. He knows the game he has to play can't be a power battle with the skills at his disposal. In terms of sheer power he is well aware he can't match those of Bakugou or Todoroki so he's going to avoid them. Engaging only if necessary and unseen. I wouldn't put it past him to have already figured out who he's going to get his points and how." Shouta commented.

"You're truly pulling for this boy, aren't you Aizawa?" Midnight asked slyly.

"It would be foolish not to. He has potential and a drive to match. He isn't letting what has happened to him stand in the way of his future. It's admirable and shouldn't be taken lightly." Shouta said.

"It also contributes that's now his son." Hizashi said. "Ow!"

Shouta smacked him. Izuku being his son only counted for 5% of the reason he was silently rooting for him. Nothing more than that. And if that wasn't the case then that was for him to know.

Izuku stood there a couple yards away smirking at them. At the moment he was wearing his gym uniform with a belt and what looked to be a watch on his wrist.

"I've got him!" Kaminari shouted as he charged him.

Izuku ducked down, swiping his foot from under him, and then smacked Kaminari across the face. With enough force, he was able to throw him to the ground and tie his wrists behind his back.

"Grab him!" Sato and Ojiro cried as they took the chance while he was crouched to grab him.

Izuku took a deep breath before breathing out hard and fast as screen-like walls appeared in front of him about a foot off the ground. Both close combat heroes in training smashed into it face first and fell over holding their faces. Izuku then reached under his shields and tied the tape around their ankles.

"What the hell?!"

Kaminari has been captured!

Sato has been captured!

Ojiro has been captured!

"Aizawa, I thought you said he didn't have a wide quirk selection." Midnight commented on seeing the boy use Tsuburaba's quirk, who was a kid in the other hero class.

"It appears in the short time he'd made use of his surroundings." Shouta smirked as he looked over at Nezu who was giddy.

"Yes! He's certainly demonstrating he shouldn't be taken lightly."

"He's already shown incredible application in putting his quirk into a combat situation." Toshinori commented. "You can tell he's working hard and has come a long way."

Toshinori was overwhelmed with concern when he heard about Izuku's trip to Hosu. Shouta later explained what happened in detail, but he had heard it all from Gran Torino.

"That kid is certainly a chip off your old block, you idiot!"

He was glad to see Izuku was alright and hadn't been captured by the villains or killed. Despite Shouta's threat he wanted to travel to Hosu to see Izuku while he was in the hospital, but if he were to reveal himself it would raise suspicion. The only thing Shouta told them was that Izuku was in a coma due to his quirk. Toshinori was ready to spend the money to get him the best doctors in Japan if it meant he'd be alright. He also informed him of the message and Toshinori felt his blood boil how this man used that taunting tone at his son that he, as All Might, heard times before.

He was serious when he told his old mentor he found his successor in this young man. The kid had a smile so bright that it cut through any darkness. He was prepared and well aware of the burdens that came with dealing with the world's greatest evil. He only wished he could have found him sooner and saved him. Toshinori was prepared to approach Shouta that if he failed, he would take him under his wing, train him, and turn him into a hero if it meant he could help this sweet, determined child reach his dreams. He just needed to bring it up to Izuku…and possibly Shouta.

Toshinori nodded. Not that he thought Izuku would fail.

"Doesn't that quirk belong to someone in 1B?!" Ashido exclaimed.

"But how would he know so many quirks?" Uraraka asked.

"You forget that damn nerd is smart as hell and watched the Sports Festival. Some quirks are pretty easy to see how they're done." Katsuki barked.

Izuku kept to himself that he spent time with 1B after someone saved him in the bathroom.

"Hey. Maybe you should, I don't know, leave him alone." a voice said and Izuku looked behind the boy to see a blond standing in the door with a smug look on his face. Kacchan's hair was more of a pale blond, but this student's was more like Kaminari's. Izuku thinks he's in another class, 1B? Monoma was his name?

"Buzz off." the boy said.

"And here I thought Class 1A was a bunch of losers. I've already told my class representative, so I think you better let him go." Monoma said, crossing his arms. "To think Class 1A is better without you."

"Why you!" the boy said letting Izuku go who collapsed against the wall and charged at the supposedly smug asshole. Before the boy even got a chance to strike a white scarf shot out and wrapped around the boy trapping him. "Damn it!"

"I think it'd be best to stop while you're in enough trouble." Shouta hissed. He had a feeling when Kendo of Class 1B came to tell him about one of his students, he had a feeling it was Izuku. Luckily it was just an unruly teenager who couldn't remove his head from his ass and not worse. "Izuku, will you be alright while I take him to the principal? We'll discuss this later."

"Yeah." Izuku said nervously as he watched Shouta drag him out.

"Well that could have ended ugly. Thankfully yours truly was here."

"Thank you." Izuku said softly.

"Hey, 1A. Not sure what your lame class has said, but 1B has your back too."

Izuku nodded. Shouta told him 1B would be learning that he wasn't a transfer student since they were coming along to the training camp coming up in a few weeks. They were also part of the hero course and they were going to spend a lot of time together. Although they signed non-disclosures as someone could say something that contradicts what they know causing a whole new mess. From what Izuku heard they took it well and he was fine with it. From what Shouta told him and what he saw at the Sports Festival, Class 1B seemed like an interesting group and Izuku wanted their trust in case he may need help.

"Um, thank you."

"Sure thing. If you ever need a moment of fresh air away from those losers stop by our class, we'd love to talk with you." Monoma said as he went for the door. "You better get going or your rabid guard dog might come barking."

Monoma walked up and saw Kendo standing there with a smile on her face. She smacked him for what he said at the Sports Festival and when Vlad King finally told them about the mysterious transfer in 1A he could admit, only to himself, that it was rather asshole-ish of him. Vlad told them yesterday during homeroom and explained that they'd be going to summer training camp along with Class 1A. They all groaned, but he quickly quieted them down and said they had something important to discuss, the new kid in their class. They had to sign some paper and then he explained. Izuku Midoriya wasn't a transfer hero student working under Eraserhead; he was in witness protection from his villain father through UA who Aizawa found after the events of the USJ. Everyone looked at each other nervously not wanting to think about what he's been through. The villain had to be high ranked to have UA involved so closely.

"He's actually aspiring to be a hero and will be officially joining their class soon. He wasn't seen at the Sports Festival because he wasn't actually a student here and we need to protect his identity. You're being trusted with this so if trouble comes then you'll be aware of the situation and not make assumptions. Eraser has told me he's been through a lot, but he's still working just as hard as all of you to become a hero."

"Monoma, don't say anything!" Kendo yelled.

Monoma snorted. He wasn't going to. People told him he was useless in being a hero so he couldn't imagine what people were telling Midoriya. One of your parents being a villain? Yeah, good luck trying to step out of their shadow and not be associated with them. Not to mention the bastard was chasing him? What Midoriya was doing was admirable and he could acknowledge that. That's why when he noticed that old class A member following him he said something to Kendo and she, with a proud face, went to get Aizawa.

"We should split up into smaller groups and spread out. We don't know who has what point value and if we stay in a large group he'll just pick us off." Iida suggested.

Without a word, Katsuki blasted off in the direction he saw Izuku go.

"Bakugou wait!" Iida shouted. He sighed. He shouldn't be surprised.

"I'll go after him!" Kirishima said following him.

Bakugou could take care of himself. Kirishima could handle being his backup as the rest split up. It was just Midoriya after all. What could he do against the atomic bomb in their class? If Bakugou and Midoriya fought then it was certainly one-sided. For now, they'd follow the plan to split up.

Iida, Hitoshi, Uraraka, and Todoroki went left.

Asui, Ashido, Jiro, and Momo went right.

Kouda, Shoji, Aoyama, and Tokoyami followed the center path in hopes of surrounding him.

It didn't take long for Katsuki to catch up and he was face to face with him. Izuku peered out behind him as he typed something out on the watch. Katsuki just stood there as they looked at one another.

"You've got more up your sleeve, don't you?" Katsuki asked.

"Of course." Izuku said. "Kacchan, you can't go easy on me. There are cameras and if they see us just talking they'll know you don't want to fight me."

"So it is the board of old farts making you do this." Katsuki said instead. Izuku was right. He didn't want to fight him Not yet and not like this.

"Yeah. They don't think I can do it and don't want to see me pass. I think they only see my father." Izuku confirmed.

"Show them."

"Well then come at me and show me then." Izuku said, smirking.

"You bastard." Katsuki smirked before launching himself at him starting with a big right hook–

Kirishima panted as he finally caught up with Katsuki and saw him charge at Izuku. He agreed with his friend that making Izuku do this was unmanly. There was no way Izuku could take on 19 heroes in training. He was also worried about Katsuki. He knew Katsuki and Izuku were very close and this was probably conflicting within him. Kirishima's eyes widened as he witnessed what happened.

Izuku grabbed Katsuki's gauntlet and saw Izuku flip him on his back. While Katsuki went overhead Izuku took a chance and grabbed a few of the grenades off his belt. Spinning around Izuku then chucked them at Kirishima. The last thing Kirishima saw was Izuku smirking before his left hand lit up in flames that erupted toward him.

Kirishima has been captured!

"Jiro, can you tell where he is?" Momo asked as they kept a steady yet cautious pace.

"No. I can't hear much other than—AH!" Jiro screamed as she held onto her ears which were ringing in pain at the sounds overwhelming her. They sounded like…explosions.

"H-he must be using Bakugou's q-quirk to disrupt my hearing." Jiro grimaced as she took a knee.

"Or not." a voice said.

The three of them left standing then turned around to see Izuku standing above them on one of the pipes.

"Ribbit!" Asui cried as she jumped at the wall as she attempted to bounce around to confuse him then strike. However, before she got even close to him she was blasted away and Izuku hadn't moved a muscle. In a flurry of smoke Asui's tongue was grabbed and flung at the pretend villain. Asui then glowed a purple hue before stopping mid air as Izuku tied tape around her leg.

Asui has been captured!

"No way! He turned Bakugou against us! That's so cheating!" Mina shouted.

"Not if he used Shinsou's quirk." Momo said, remembering that Hitoshi raised his hand earlier along with her own. That must have been how he got the smoke bombs and flash bangs. He must have created them using her quirk. That was so smart of him and such an effective way to immobilize them. She then created a net and threw it at him. Izuku lifted his hand and waved it, flinging it back at Jirou who screamed in surprise.

Jirou has been captured!

'No why did I do that!' Momo cursed at herself and her choice. It was like that battle all over again. 'I knew he was using a quirk that manipulates objects. That's Yanagi's quirk!'

Ever since the Sports Festival she couldn't get her thoughts together whenever they were doing practical training. Nothing seemed to go right and there was next enough time. Izuku reached out to her about her quirk and she truly enjoyed talking with him. But how was he able to make much more use of her quirk than she could after only a short time? What did that say about her?

"Momo!"

Yaoyorozu looked around to see Izuku had moved from his position and Katsuki was long gone. She felt a presence at her flank and created a steel rod and swung it behind her which Izuku caught with his right hand. She gasped as she saw it instantly coated in ice which encased her. She couldn't move. She couldn't do anything to help her classmates. She couldn't even find a way to help him.

Yaoyorozu has been neutralized!

"I got you now!" Ashido cried as she fired an acid shot at him. "Todoroki's ice doesn't work my quirk and you're still resetting!" Izuku smirked as lifted his hand and blasted the acid away…using Bakugou's quirk?! The blast destroyed her acid and covered everything in smoke. "How did you do that?!"

Izuku didn't say anything as he placed his right foot down which erupted in ice covering her.

Ashido has been neutralized!

"Izuku certainly is giving this all." Hitoshi said as they all overheard Yaoyorozu's group get taken down. "I have to wonder how he took them out. They're all pretty good during class. If he comes after our group next then I hate to say he'll probably target me because he knows not to answer me."

"Agreed. He's proved himself capable of combat and must have found ways to counter everyone." Iida said.

At first, he was a little worried for his friend. Izuku didn't participate in the heroic classes where they mainly learned to fight and use their quirks. However, in the alleyway, Izuku showed his ability to use his quirk to fight alongside others against someone who had leaps of more experience and training than him.

"I know we're supposed to give it our all as well, but this doesn't feel right guys. Midoriya wants to join our class more than anything right now." Uraraka sighed.

"Even if he fails there might be a chance." Todoroki said before stopping and holding up his hand.

"Todoroki?"

"Someone's coming." Todoroki said before turning around and creating a huge ice wall that was blasted a moment later creating shards of ice that rained down.

"B-Bakugou?!" Iida said seeing the other boy who only stared at them in silence like he was looking for something or someone. As soon as he made eye contact with Todoroki he charged him and Todoroki put up an ice wall to block him which Katsuki broke through with a move he called a Howitzer Impact and launched both of them away from the other three.

"Todoroki!" Uraraka yelled.

"He must have used my quirk to control Bakugou." Hitoshi said. "All Bakugou had to do was respond to him and Izuku could just give him the order to go after Todoroki. Stay on your guard."

"Right!"

"Uraraka! Behind you!"

Uraraka turned around as Izuku grabbed her wrist guard.

"I don't think so!" Uraraka cried as she grabbed his wrist and flipped him. Izuku slammed into the ground and Uraraka moved to tie him but he disappeared and then slammed his body weight on top of her. Uraraka hit the ground, having the wind knocked out of her as Izuku tied her wrists together.

Uraraka has been captured!

Iida realized what happened. He's currently using that short-range teleportation quirk he has and used it to put himself directly behind her so gravity would do the work catching her off guard.

"I've got you." Hitoshi said as he activated his quirk just in case it might work and fired his own capture weapon that wrapped around Izuku. "Got you."

Izuku smirked before an electrical pulse waved out from his body, shocking Hitoshi. He didn't even know he had this quirk. The scarf acted like a conduit and Hitoshi realized if given the chance before then Kaminari would have beaten him. He guessed this was karma for the dog joke as he lost his strength and collapsed.

Shinsou has been neutralized!

The capture-weapon fell and Izuku took a knee as he panted. He was losing steam and he didn't think he had it in him to use his quirk again. He figured this would happen. He wouldn't be able to keep up activating and deactivating constantly in long drawn out fights yet. Even if he let go as soon as he was done he was pushing his new reset time and that lingering feeling of overuse ached through his body. Time was also running out.

"I'm sorry Midoriya. This is the end of the line." Iida said, walking up to him and then looking toward the giant timer that read Izuku only had a minute left. Iida wondered if the time ran out and no one was declared a winner would Izuku still pass if he were close. Izuku needed to be in the hero course. He saved him after all! If that didn't say he was a hero then Iida would do everything in his power to make it happen. He heard footsteps and saw Bakugou walking toward them. Even if Katsuki was controlled by Izuku he didn't think he'd be able to make any moves before the timer ran out.

"Kacchan. Now." Iida heard Izuku say and looked to see what final trick was up the greenet's sleeve.

Bakugou has been captured!

The air horn sounded and Iida looked up at the timer to see that it read 15 seconds. He looked to Katsuki to see that he had tied the capture tape around his own wrist. Had Izuku planned that? Time was still on the clock. Has Izuku passed? Iida looked at Izuku who was lying on his back panting.

"Midoriya, are you okay?!" Iida exclaimed, going up to him to make sure he was alright. Despite being told otherwise, Iida couldn't help the panic at thinking about that night on Echo Street.

"I'm fine Iida. Just tired."

"Did you?"

"Yeah. I did." Izuku said with a bright grin and a thumbs up.

"You all underestimated your opponent and thus unable to counter him. Take this experience and learn from it. More importantly. Congratulations Midoriya. You are officially a member of Class 1A's Hero Course." Shouta said as he and everyone clapped.

Present Mic, Midnight, Nezu, and even All Might (under the guise of Mr. Yagi) had come out to see his exam. Although Izuku couldn't see them, he knew a few board members were in the viewing booth. Shouta put a hand on his shoulder and smiled at Izuku. He was proud of him. He showed him and Shouta hoped they were watching.

"YAY!" Everyone cheered.

Izuku smiled and he couldn't stop. He would have been so much more excited and happy if he wasn't so tired. Now he just really wanted a nap. He also wanted to talk to Class 1B and tell them the good news! He owed them part of his success by letting him learn some of their quirks.

"Thanks, everyone! I promise I'll keep up with you all! Also, I'm sorry that I might have hurt some of you!"

"Don't sweat it, man! You did what you had to!" Kirishima said. His hero costume had burn marks all over it. Oops.

"That was incredible!" Hagakure said. "Where did you learn to do all that?"

"Oh, I've been training outside of school. Also, I took notes on your quirks so I knew what I was dealing with. I figured that I couldn't win on my own and if I was being painted the villain then I might as well turn one of you against you. When I saw you split up I formulated an attack plan. To be honest, I was unpredictable since we've never faced off so you all were wary of me which I used to my advantage."

"That first barrage is what threw everyone off." Sato commented and a few others nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, a lot of your quirks rely on sight so I eliminated that I could sneak in and at least capture a few before it cleared."

"No offense, but why didn't you go after our group?" Kouda asked quietly.

"Well to be honest your group wasn't worth that much to my score. The way you guys were valued was by your place in the midterm so for example Yaoyorozu was worth the most at 20 points because she was first and so on down the list. Your group got me about 37 points, but I could get close to that by just capturing Yaoyorozu and Jirou."

"Aah! And me too!" Ashido whined, getting up near him and shaking him in comedic frustration. Izuku looked nervous as he stepped back a little out of her grip. "Seriously! Iida said you had a time limit!"

"Um…well you see. As you probably notice I've been talking to Class 1B."

"You have that smug bastard's quirk, don't you?" Katsuki asked. "The one who can copy quirks."

"Yeah…" Izuku said sheepishly, scratching his head. "During my first attack I had his quirk activated which is why some of you felt me touch you. His quirk allows me to copy and store the quirks I copy when using it so I grabbed yours, Todoroki's, and Kaminari's. Despite already knowing them doesn't affect the copies stored. I also figured out it's a really good way I can learn quirks I want to copy later since I feel for myself how it's used! Anyway, since he's able to switch freely through them I'm not hindered by my reset time which by the way I'm so happy now it's only 30 seconds!" Izuku explained as he rambled.

"So dude, you didn't actually control Bakugou, did you?" Sero whispered to him.

"I don't know what you mean." Izuku said, shrugging his shoulders. If he helped, under his own volition, under the disguise of a brainwashing quirk, that was his knowledge alone. Katsuki's too. And apparently, from the side-eye glance he was getting from Shouta it was his too. The smirk on his face said it all.

The board couldn't say that brainwashing, whether it happened or not, for assistance was cheating because that would open another can of bullshit involving Hitoshi. And with Hitoshi being Present Mic's kid and if they spoke out about his quirk they'd find themselves in hot water. Hizashi would certainly put them on blast regardless if he worked at UA or not.

'Good job problem child.' Shouta thought. 'Anything goes' was right.

"That was smart." Todoroki said.

"I knew I couldn't take on Todoroki so I commanded Kacchan to get him out of my way until I could get the rest of my points. He was useful enough as a distraction for other groups and I had a command that said that on my signal he was to turn himself in since he was worth 18 points."

"How many points did you need?" Jirou asked.

"130."

"But that's out of 207!" Yaoyorozu exclaimed, having quickly done the math. It was roughly a little over 60%, but any higher would have to put him against those like Todoroki who could stop Izuku in a matter of seconds. She didn't want to say it, but it sounded like the exam was designed for him to fail–

"He's a cheat!" a man in a business suit walked up the steps. "I should move to expel him and this entire class for being incompetent!"

"Mr. Yumekui, I didn't think you'd be here." Nezu said as he narrowed his eyes on him.

"Who's that?" Kaminari whispered.

"He's on the board at UA. Not a dude I like being around, yo." Hizashi answered.

Mr. Yumekui wasn't a man any of the staff wanted to meet in a dark alley. He was a greasy man with dark hair and eye bags worse than Shouta's who had an even nastier quirk. Not an offensive one, but would leave a nasty impression if he got his hands on a person.

"By what do you mean?" Nezu asked calmly. "Mr. Midoriya did as requested by the board, specifically you, and obtained the required points in the exam you designed. Did you not think he would excel given what was at stake?"

"That kid helped him." the man snarled, pointing at Katsuki.

"Shove it, old man. I was brainwashed!" Katsuki yelled and Shouta silenced him with a glare to stay out of the conversation.

"Mr. Midoriya used the quirk of another Hero Course student to further his chances. There was nowhere in the rules stating he couldn't." Nezu countered. "If I remember, you were adamantly pushing for Mr. Midoriya to take this exam. I was perfectly fine admitting him into the Hero Course under the reasons of previous events and how he fared in his finals. Mr. Yumekui, why is it that you want this heroic child to fail? Surely you don't have anything against him or his…parentage."

Mr. Yumekui growled before charging, grabbing Izuku by the wrist. Izuku hissed as the man's nails dug into his skin and he tried to pull away as the man's eyes flashed. Izuku's eyes slacked a moment as if they became drowsy. He couldn't look away despite how much he wanted to and he felt his heart rate increase and it was like he couldn't breathe.

"Hey!" Everyone yelled.

Shouta jumped into action and yanked the man off his son and wrapped him in his scarf where he couldn't move. Izuku stumbled for a moment and Katsuki ran up putting his hands on his shoulders to stabilize him. He made sure not to press too hard, but Katsuki gave him a comforting squeeze reminding him that he was there and it was okay.

"Hey Izuku!" Katsuki said with his voice a little louder than normal. "Are you okay?!"

"Using your quirk without a license or in self defense especially against a minor is illegal Mr. Yumekui. You should know that." Shouta growled.

His quirk. Daymares. When he touches someone it gives them a nightmare like vision while they're awake. The only unsettling thing was that sometimes these visions ended up actually coming true. Some cases were close, others far off, and some were so right on the nose it was scary to think about.

"Your father will come for you, child! Now you can't escape the truth!" Yumekui screamed.

Izuku gasped out of his stupor and grabbed Katsuki's hand, gripping it so tightly the blond winced. His breathing picked up even more before he felt a warm sensation encompassing his hand and looked down to see Katsuki heating his hand in hopes to help him not panic. Izuku felt grounded and started taking deep breaths. It was fine. Everything was fine. Kacchan was there. Shouta was there.

Nezu growled. "I figured as much. Midnight if you don't mind escorting this villain off school property and to the police."

"On it."

"You knew?" Toshinori asked. He wished he could have done something to help, but in his weaker form he couldn't risk it and out himself as the Symbol of Peace.

"I had a feeling. Mr. Yumekui started with us recently replacing a board member who recently passed that the police suspect as foul play. He had glowing reviews from previous schools so the rest of board thought none the wiser. A project I'm currently working on to weed out our more old fashioned biased members. Once Mr. Midoriya was recovered by Aizawa, he got antsy when I mentioned him enrolling for his protection. Always inquiring about him, but I kept tight-lipped about him. I assume he didn't want him to join the hero course because then he'd learn how to fight back and harder to recapture. The loyalty the hero course students have for one another is simply amazing unlike other courses. With so many aspiring heroes watching over him, his father wouldn't succeed so easily. I just needed something to spur him to make a move. Humans are driven by such emotions like fear and greed. Mr. Midoriya, I apologize for using you like this."

"If he was forced to transfer he'd be ostracized." Hizashi concluded and Nezu nodded.

"Izuku, are you okay?" Shouta asked, placing a hand on his shoulder and looking him over. Overall he looked alright even if his wrist looked a little red, but thankfully no blood. There might be a little bruise though.

"I'm…I'm fine."

Shouta took that as a sign that Izuku didn't want to talk about it right then and it might be best to move the conversation until later once they were alone. He needs to know what Izuku saw. There was no denying it. The glazed look told him that the bastard had used his quirk on him. Shouta couldn't rule out that Izuku saw something that might come to pass. For now, he's thankful he's fine. He nodded and patted his shoulder comfortingly. Katsuki took the moment to turn Izuku and hug him which Izuku returned.

"Way to go nerd. Show that ugly fucker who's boss." Katsuki said, which made Izuku laugh.

"Don't worry. Remember what I said. By the way, Izuku. " Shouta said, tussling his curls. "Welcome to the Hero Course, Calculus."

"We should have a party!" Ashido screamed and everyone cheered along with her agreeing.

"Thank you! I'll do my best!" Izuku said, smiling. He had everyone else fooled but a few people saw that smile didn't reach his eyes. Izuku saw something moments ago and it left him frightened enough not to let go of Katsuki's hand.
