So the idea of this fanfic came from a theory that Meggy is a clone created either by the Ink Weaver or Ink Zuccer. And the original Meggy is dead. Here it's that both Inkling Meggy & Human Meggy came out together.
(The gang stood on the boat shocked by what happened The island exploded with Francis, Meggy, and Desti's dead bodies. Shaggy went to save them but failed or so they thought. As Shaggy got back he was holding two bodies. One of them was Meggy, while the other looked very similar to Meggy but as a human. Shaggy places them on the boat)
I. Meggy/H. Meggy: Oh man...my head... Guys!? What happened? Did we kick Francis's ass?! Hm?
(Both of them heard each other and turned their heads to each other)
I. Meggy/H. Meggy: What the!?
(The current phenomenon surprised everyone)
I. Meggy/H. Meggy: How-? What? No!
(They were a mirror copy of the other)
I. Meggy: Who are you?
H. Meggy: I'm Meggy.
I. Meggy: No, I'm Meggy.
H. Meggy: No, I'm Meggy!
I. Meggy: I'm Meggy!
H. Meggy: I'm Meggy!
I. Meggy: I'M MEGGY!
H. Meggy: I'M MEGGY!
SMG4: Meggy!
(They look at him)
SMG4: Meggy, I think (Points to H. Meggy) she's a human clone of you.
I. Meggy/H. Meggy: Huh?
SMG4: I think when the Ink Zuccer sucked out your ink, it must have made a human clone of you.
I. Meggy: How is that even possible?
SMG4: I dunno.
I. Meggy: (To H. Meggy) What do you remember?
H. Meggy: I'm guessing everything you remember. Like meeting Mario, the T-Pose apocalypse, taking down Bob's rap career, running into Desti-
(That's when the Meggy's remember what happened)
I. Meggy/H. Meggy: DESTI! GUYS, PLEASE TELL ME- US, SHE'S OKAY!
(The other just give them a somber look)
I. Meggy/H. Meggy: Please… Tell us that…it was all a nightmare…
SMG4: Meggy's... We're sorry.
(The two then started to cry)
(On a beach near Inkopolis, a funeral is held for Desti. A white coffin lays on the shallows, a picture of Desti standing on top of it and surrounded by a small wreath of white roses. The gang stands on the beach, along with some Mushroom Kingdom and Inkopolis citizens, their faces all in mourning. At the back, Inkling Meggy and Human Meggy walk slowly forward, carrying Desti's Splattershot in their arms. They slowly place it on the coffin and get ready to push it out to see, but their body won't let them. Their hesitation is noticed by Tari, who walks up to them)
Tari: Meggy's? What's wrong?
I. Meggy/H. Meggy: We.. we don't know what to do.
Bob: I tHiNk YoU'rE mEaNt To PuSh ThE cOfFiN.
(Saiko elbows Bob)
I. Meggy: She died because of me.
H. Meggy: Or us? I dunno even know. All I know is if we/her had just been a little faster or a little better, then she wouldn't have...
I. Meggy/H. Meggy: ...We just don't know what to do.
Axol: "You have to get back up." That's what she told me. She said that no matter how many times life knock you down... You ALWAYS have to get back up. She said she learned it from you.
SMG4: Yeah, we know you've been knocked down a lot lately, Meggy's.
Tari: But you always have to get back up again!
Luigi: And if you can't right now, that's okay!
Boopkins: Because we'll be right here to pick you up!
Bob: YeAh! I'm GrEaT aT pIcKiNg Up ChIcKs!
Saiko: ...You know what he means.
(Inkling Meggy & Human Meggy looks at the gang, touched by their words. They then see Mario walk to them, putting a hand on their shoulders)
Mario: Meggy's... Mario isn't very good at expressing himself... In fact Mario isn't very good at anything. But one thing I'm certain of is... Mario will always have your back. No matter what.
I. Meggy/H. Meggy: Thanks...guys...
Axol: You're welcome...beanie fish and human girl.
(The Meggy's finally pushes the coffin into the ocean. They then salute to her, one last time. Everyone else does it as well, honoring a well-loved character)
I. Meggy: I promise you I'll win Splatfest. For us.
H. Meggy: Um... You'll win Splatfest? No, I'm gonna win Splatfest for her.
I. Meggy: What? You? What makes you think you're gonna win it for her?
H. Meggy: Cause her last dying words were for me to win it for her.
I. Meggy: They weren't you for, they were for me!
H. Meggy: And I am you, so they were for me, too!
I. Meggy: No, it was me specifically, and have had no knowledge that you would be created...
(The two argue with each other as the other watched annoyed)
Saiko: Yeah... something tells me this might get annoying.
