Hi all, long overdue chapter. They are finally at Camp Jupiter. Story to hopefully ramp up soon. Enjoy.

For the next month, Percy carried on training. He practiced his abilities from Vesta and Apollo on his own, then his powers of the underworld with Hades or Nico. He could now control shadows really well, but was unable to raise the dead. In a way, Percy could shadow travel, but only to places that he could see. And then in the evening he carried on working on his archery and powers with Diana. However the journey to Camp Jupiter was nearing its end.

Percy did not know how to feel about it, he was worried about it feeling too much about camp half-blood, but this was going to cause a lot more issues than he realised.

"Are you okay?" Diana asked Percy who was stood at the top of the hill looking down at a small tunnel which was apparently the entrance to the roman camp.

Percy didnt know how to reply, he was nervous. Although he had been reassured that this would be very different to camp half blood, the nerves were still there.

"I dont know, the romans are very different based on what you've told me but I'm scared it'll end the same way..."

Diana placed a hand on her sons shoulder,

"Its okay to feel that way, but just know im only a call away if you need me and you can come visit the hunters when you can. I know you're going to miss them..."

Percy said nothing but embraced his mum, he let go after a minute or two.

"Sorry mum, I just know that when we get there they may not understand why we're so close so I wanted to hug you one more time"

Diana smiled at her son, before they started to walk to the tunnel. They arrived at the gate that had two guards dressed in full roman armour.

One was a beefy Asian kid about 15 with a bow strung over his shoulder looking uncomfortable in the armour.

The other was a scrawny kid who's armour barely fit him, he had teddy bears on his belt and eyes that looked crazy.

"Halt" they both shouted, pointing their spears in Percy and Diana's direction.

Diana looked furious but Percy just laughed.

The scrawny one looked angered by this,

"Why do you laugh? I should run you and this woman through right now"

Percy's laughter stopped and he stared directly into the crazy eyes.

With the movement and grace of a hunter he grabbed the spear, swept the kids legs from under him and held the spear at his throat.

"I laugh because you're pathetic, I have faced horrors that would make your nightmares look like the isles of blessed. You disrespect me or my mother again, and I'll send you to my uncle."

The guards looked shocked but Diana did not. Since the betrayal of Poseidon, Percy's loyalty had reached unprecedented levels. He had seen too many of his friends and family die, and he was willing to kill to protect them.

"Percy enough, the stupid boy did not know he was talking to an Olympian Goddess" Diana said with anger, but not towards Percy, but towards this bastard legacy of her brother.

The beefy kid's eyes widened and he immediately bowed and apologised profusely.

The kid on the ground stuttered an apology with his spear at his throat until Percy let him go and he stayed on his hands and knees grovelling.

Percy rolled his eyes as they did.

"I apologise milady, we did not realise. I am especially sorry for Octavian, he can be... challenging. And I am sorry, my name is Frank, son of Mars."

Diana ignored the apologies,

"Take us to your praetor, this is Percy Jackson, my son."

They both looked shocked but wisely chose to keep their mouth shut and lead the way into Camp Jupiter.

As Percy and Diana walked into the camp there was only one word in Percy's mind to describe it.

Beautiful. That was the way to describe Camp Jupiter.

The first sight was the Little Tiber, its waters a shimmered and cut through the heart of the camp. On its banks, the bustling city of New Rome rose, a sanctuary for retired demigods and legacies, where marble villas and temples stood proudly alongside bustling marketplaces and lively taverns. The architecture spoke of a timeless elegance, with red-tiled roofs and grand columns casting long shadows in the afternoon sun.

The camp itself was a masterpiece of military precision. High walls, fortified with watchtowers and guarded by ever-vigilant sentries, enclosed the main grounds. Within these defences lay the Field of Mars, a sprawling expanse where the clash of swords and the cries of warriors in training filled the air.

At the heart of the camp stood the Senate House, an imposing structure where the camp's leaders convened. Percy could tell that the life at Camp Jupiter was steeped in tradition. He heard Latin phrases everywhere, but was unsure how he understood it. One thing he noticed was that every camper, from the newest recruit to the most seasoned veteran, looked like they knew how to handle a weapon. It was definitely different to good ole Camp Half-Blood.

Percy gained a frown on his face. He tried not to think about that place anymore, the bad memories. A lot of people betrayed him lived there... Including Annabeth.

Percy's mind drifted to the bad place as they were walking. Did he overreact when the guards disrespected his mother? That Frank kid seemed nice enough, but Octavian... There are definitely going to be problems with that one.

Percy looked forward to see that very person trying to look intimidating by glaring at him. Percy just smirked before giving him what he had dubbed "the look of a hunter" or in other words, the look that Tania had given him all the time when he first joined.

He was pleased when Octavian shivered and turned away before a funny looking statue began to speak.

"Halt, please hand over your weapons before entering the city lines"

Octavian and Frank just shook their head but obeyed. Terminus looked ready to have a fit and was about to go off on one at Percy and Diana until he noticed who she actually was.

Apparently...

Statues could become paler.

"I am so sorry Lady Diana, I will not ask for your weapons, but this demigod must hand his weapon over."

Diana glared at the statue,

"Do not dare treat my son like any old demigod, you know he deserves far more than that"

Terminus' eyes widened.

"I apologise milady, and then this must be..."

He looked at Percy with shock who just looked bored,

"Percy Jackson! If I could I would bow. It is an honour to meet you saviour of Olympus. I have heard your story from Mercury himself, the fact that you fought Satu..."

"That's enough grovelling Terminus, just let us through the gates."

Everyone had a different expression on their face.

Diana was furious, Frank looked curious, Octavian looked envious and Percy? Well, Percy looked expressionless.

Frank coughed awkwardly,

"Thank you Terminus, but lets get going, the senator house is up ahead"

The rest of the walk was silent. No one wanted to risk angering the goddess further.

Diana knew how much Percy just wanted a fresh start, to put his past life. She knew how difficult it was, even though she thought he should be proud of his achievements. It was all from a conversation they had a week ago.

(Flashback)

Percy and Diana were sat overlooking the lake having one of their mother-son dinners just talking away from the hunters.

"Percy when we get to Camp, you may not be able to tell them about Greeks but you may tell them you are the saviour of Olympus."

Percy looked out across the lake as the moonlight glittered over the surface, he was calm here. This mix of moon and sea was where he felt truly connected to his powers.

"No, I dont want them to know. I have spent the past 5 years, constantly being told I was the one to save everyone. I was going the child of the prophecy. And look where that got me in the end. I have felt so much pain, and hurt and anger and I am only 16. I am so thankful for you mum, you gave me a fresh start and thats what I want. I didnt save Olympus, my friends did. The ones who sacrificed themselves. They should be celebrated. Not me, I am just ready to live my own life, one without pressure, one where I can ignore the pain."

Diana said nothing, but hugged him in acknowledgement. Nothing needed to be said. She understood, and she would fight so her son could get her wish.

(Flashback over)

They arrived at the sentor house without a word and Frank knocks on the door.

"Please come in"

A womens voice calls out and Percy cocks his ear like he recognises it.

They walk in and the first word out of his mouth is cut off.

"Shi..."

"YOU!"

The women in purple shouts and before the know it she is up from the desk with two metal dogs, one gold and one silver, staring intensely at Percy.

"People knowing me is never good." Percy sighed.

Diana looks between the two and decides to intervene.

"Praetor Reyna, I am Diana and this is my son Percy Jackson. You will be best of putting aside whatever he has done and speak to me about it in private. For now, he is to be accepted into Rome, backed by Olympian goddess."

Reyna handled her appearance a lot better than Frank and Octavian as she bowed with only slightly widened eyes.

"Forgive me milady, I met him in a past life, but I can tell he does not quite recognise me. I will explain this in more detail in time. However, may I ask how you have a demigod son?"

Diana nodded as she expected this question,

"I have adopted him after his previous godly parent disowned him. But that is not my story to tell, but just know you are to treat him with the utmost respect, he is still my son."

"Yes milady I understand, I am happy to accept him, but he is rather old, does he have fighting experience."

Percy snorts, somewhat cockily and Diana glares at him.

"He does but his smugness is unbecoming of the son of Diana. So I have an idea for him if you are willing to help with that Praetor."

Percy gulps and Reyna nods, eager to see a punishment for the one she has a grudge against, that Percy still cant figure out.

"In the days of Rome, legionnaires would have to fight for their place. I want to see that old coliseum you have put to use, have him fight the centurion of each cohort consecutively."

Percy sighs, remembering when he had to fight all the hunters when he first joined, remembering how difficult that was.

Reyna nods with glee, thinking she will see Percy beaten by some of the best fighters in the whole of Camp.

"Octavian. Inform all of the cohorts and the centurions, you are after all one of them. Let them know that we have an adopted son of Diana looking to prove himself at the coliseum. And Frank, go find Praetor Grace, he has the day off but I am sure he would love to see this."

Percy freezes,

"Grace?"

"Yes Jason Grace, son of Jupiter."#

Percy looks like hes been punched in the gut but attempts to steel himself at the thoughts of his old life.

Diana gives him a look that says, 'Will explain later' and tries to move on from the topic.

"Well Percy, looks like you have a fun evening ahead, so welcome to Camp Jupiter."

Percy sighs,

'This was never going to be easy was it.'

I'll be real, probably wont be another chapter for like, a year. But maybe soon. See you in the next chapter.
