Hello! This is my first time writing a fanfic! I've been reading them for a while, so I thought I'd give writing one a try.
I got a lot of inspiration from The Prodigy Namikaze, so this fic might be similar in parts but I'm trying my best to differentiate while still keeping a select few parts. It's a personal favorite fic of mine.
Well that's enough from me, so let's get to it! Feel free to give any feedback on anything you think I could improve.
"I can't believe today's the day!" Kushina shouted in her typical excited manner but with a hint of anxiety. Today was the biggest day of her life, she was going to have her first child, Naruto.
She was sitting in the dining room of her and her husband's newly purchased house, waiting for him to finish cooking breakfast. They had just bought it a few months ago when Minato began training to take over the role of Hokage. Kushina had worked hard to decorate and make it feel like a true home. The nursery was her favorite part of the new house, she found the perfect crib and toys for her baby boy. Minato put everything together and painted the room blue with red Uzumaki swirls. Overall, the young couple were happy with their new home and couldn't wait for the addition to their family.
"All the preparations have been made, all that's left is for us to head to the secret area we set up," Minato responded with even more nerves than his wife, as he walked in with two plates of handmade pancakes, eggs, and bacon. He placed them on the table and they started eating.
They were both incredibly nervous, this was a monumental point that will change their lives entirely, and there was so much that could go wrong. Minato's mind couldn't stop running through all the different scenarios of things that could go wrong. He may have been seen as a tactical genius, but that could be a negative in situations like this.
"It's going to be ok, Minato-kun. We've prepared for every possible situation that could happen," Kushina said,while placing her hand upon her husband's to calm him down. She knew her husband well, and knew how severely he tended to overthink and worry about events like today.
"I know, I know. But, I just want to make sure everything is done right and everyone comes out safe and sound. The Kyuubi has been worrying me lately, its chakra just feels restless," Minato says, voicing his trepidations.
"We're strong honey. We'll keep it und-" Kushina is cut off by the sudden wetness of her water breaking. "OH MY GOD MINATO! IT'S HAPPENING!"
"OH GOD, OH GOD, OH GOD!" Minato began yelling. He was freaking out, running around at top speed trying to gather everything they would need for the birth. Finally, once everything was gathered he grabbed Kushina and flashed off to the secret birthing area.
~Some Hours Later~
The secret area that Minato had prepared and flashed them to was deep within the Hokage Mountain. It had been carefully constructed by Minato and Hiruzen to protect the village in the off chance the Kyuubi's seal failed due to its weakened state during childbirth. Minato had set up many barriers and seals to secure the room and contain the Kyuubi in the worst case scenario.
Many hours had passed since Kushina had arrived in the area and began giving birth. It had been immensely stressful upon both members of the Namikaze household. Kushina from giving birth to baby Naruto and Minato from reinforcing the Kyuubi's seal for hours, but it was finally over and baby Naruto had been born.
"And here he is, your brand new baby boy!" said Biwako Sarutobi, the wife of the Sandaime Hokage, as she handed the baby over to his mother. She was close to her last nerves after dealing with Kushina's short temper and loudmouth for the past few hours, she had been insulted and kicked more times than she could count. She was very glad this was over.
"Look at him Minato-kun! He's so precious," Kushina said softly, completely exhausted after her grueling childbirth, the only thing keeping her awake was the worry about the Kyuubi's seal as it was still weak.
"He is, isn't he. Look, he has your smile," Minato pointed out with a big smile on his face, while he finished stabilizing the seal, "I can't wait to watch you grow up little buddy."
"Ok, I'm sorry to break this up, but I need to take him to run some tests. Now that the seal is stabilized you all can go to the standard Konoha hospital. There should be a bed and room prepared for you already. The ANBU stationed outside will escort you," Biwako interrupted while taking Naruto from his mother.
"Sleep now Kushi-hime. You can finally rest," Minato told his wife in a soft tone, then he kissed her on the forehead as she fell asleep, and with that the ANBU, captained by Dog, appeared and began transporting Kushina and Minato out of the mountain and to Konoha General Hospital, where they would stay for the next few days.
And with that a great change had come to the Namikaze household and the world as a whole.
