Chapter 2
At the end of the day, we decided to take Mr.9 and Miss Wednesday home. However, the hell we were subjected to wasn't worth it. After their impromptu introduction, Nami screamed. "Ahhh, the compass. It's broken. Well, it was great while it lasted, but I guess this is where our story ends. At least, that's what I believed until the duo started to speak. What's that? You don't have a Log Pose. Well, today's your lucky day, baby. As it's the only way you'll be able to travel the Grand Line. Man, I dislike Mr.9. If I have to listen to this milk drinker whine anymore, I might have to inflict harm on him. Tuning back into the conversation, they talked about having a Log Pose and being able to obtain one at Whiskey Peak.
Two hours had passed, and we weren't having a great time, especially for me. "Lok Vah Koor!" This weather is ridiculous!" I've cleared the weather each time it changed, and my throat was sore. "Any more of this, and I may pass out again," I stated. Looking around the deck, I admire Luffy's boundless energy and Ussops' creativity while in the snow. Nami's scream caught my attention. Man, she screams a lot more of that, and I may move to Sovngarde more quick than I thought. "Ahhhhh, No, make a hard turn 180 degrees." We've been going backward the entire time. "The waves are getting too high, and a glacier is straight ahead." Ussops words made me turn towards the said glacier. "Yol Toor Shul!" The giant wave of fire casts all over the glacier, melting it in seconds. I was the first to collapse; the others weren't close behind, barring Zoro. I've never wanted to hit someone more than I do currently. Luckily, Nami did so on our behalf only after I caught what Zoro was talking about. He knew something, just another reason to be suspicious.
Arriving on the Island, we saw its shape and noticed it looked like cacti. The duo then left with what they claimed to be style. It certainly wasn't style; it was more hurtful, if anything. Ussop had been whining in the background while we discussed what could be on the Island. Not wanting to be surprised, I kept an ear out for any foreign noises and started to hear cheering.
"Welcome to Whiskey Peak!" Nothing but people cheering and welcoming us. "Welcome, pirates, come and celebrate with us." This is a far cry from what I would have suspected. "Something isn't right. I've traveled throughout Tamriel and have yet to encounter a place with this much enthusiasm."
"Ma-Ma-Mah! I'm Igarappoi, and it's my honor to welcome you to Whiskey Peak as mayor. The mayor welcomed us with open arms, seemingly rushing to start a party. He even skipped over Nami's question of how long it takes for the Log Pose to reset.
As the moon rose, the party was still going strong. Nami and Zoro were drinking, and I was with them. "It's about time that one's finally out after drinking 13 mugs." Feigning ignorance, I pretended that my drink wasn't just laced in front of me. "What the hell is this guy? He's on his 50th mug." looking around, I witnessed Sanji flirting with 20 women simultaneously. Ussop makes up a lot of stories, and Luffy eats at least five tables worth of food. Deciding I had enough, I faked passing out. Zoro was the first to get up, and I was just behind him. "So you figured it out, huh? He asked while we were climbing up to the roof of a tower. "Yeah, it's not hard for me to notice poison. In fact, I'm pretty damn resistant. Could you use a hand?" I questioned out of respect for the man. I had my fair share of people who got on my way back home, so I knew how it felt when others got involved. "Sure, I've wanted to see what you could do with your daggers since I saw them."
-Dovah Piece-
"Two of them escaped when we looked the other way." Zoro and I figured they could look everywhere for us, but they still needed help finding us. "I count a hundred of you, and we'll gladly take you all on." The crowd that formed had finally taken notice of us. "Get them." By the time they finished talking, we were already gone. Suppose Zoro placing his blade in the leader's hair is any indication. They were totally oblivious to their surroundings. It completely took them by surprise when I seemingly appeared beside him. "That's honestly pathetic. We may have fallen asleep if you took longer to notice us." The panic on their leader's face was evident as the surrounding enemies pointed their weapons at us. He had to take action to avoid harm. "No, don't shoot Igarappapa!" The sound and visuals honestly shook me to my core. "Did he just blow that horn and kill those people? Holy mugger's milk, I didn't even see what happened. All I saw was a flash." Quickly dodging the projectiles, I wield my daggers, slicing down anyone who dares come at me with the intent to kill. If they, by chance, aren't holding back, I won't either. "Zoro, meet me on top of that building. I have something that will help us end this rather quickly." I bounded off one foe and landed a swift slash, targeting the enemy's knee ligament. I knocked a few teeth off the following fools with a powerful right hook. Getting to the roof was relatively easy for me and seemed just as easy for Zoro. He quickly asked what I was up to. Let's just say his reaction was well worth it.
"Mid Vur Shaan! that should help." The aura that was cast on Zoro was pale. It made his attacks more swift, confusing the green-haired samurai even more. The moment he swung his blade, a slash of air burst from his sword, surprising even me. Even more shockingly, it had cut through two whole buildings. "Woah, I didn't think that was possible; just how strong are you?" that question snapped Zoro out of his daze. "Never mind what you just did to me?" He questioned loudly. "Shh, they find us if you shout like that," oh, the irony of that statement. I failed to realize I had just shouted to enhance Zoro's attack speed. Thus, I had already alerted the whole crowd to our hiding spot. "I improved the speed of your attack. With the rate you swing at, we can quickly take them out."
Sure enough, that came to fruition as Zoro used his sword techniques. Sure enough, each slash let off a slash of air that cut through everyone in its path. This is a potent combination. I'll try this with the others to see if it has any differing effects on them at a later time.
Soon enough, only a few remained: Mr. 8, Miss Monday, Mr.9, and Miss Wednesday. I wasted no time in targeting Mr.9 for myself. Launching myself at the egomaniac, I threw one dagger forward, distracting him while I shouted to move past him. "Bex!" Upon passing by, I thrust my dagger forward, parrying his metal clubs. As Mr.9 attempted to hit harder, I effortlessly glided by grabbing my other dagger from out of the air and slashed at his back. As my blades ripped through his skin, he combust into flames, thus making him thrash around until he throws himself off of the roof. "Well, that's one way to go out. Eh, it saves me the trouble of finishing him off myself. The silence around me gave me alertness, and when I looked around, everyone was looking towards me in fear.
Zoro was taken entirely by surprise by the immense abilities of his new crewmate. The realization that he was trailing so far behind hit him hard. As he reflected on his experiences with Mihawk, he couldn't help but acknowledge the significant gap between his skills and those of his formidable counterparts. "First Mihawk, now you. I can't be this far behind," Zoro muttered to himself, grappling with the seemingly insurmountable distance he had yet to cover to reach their level.
Zoro's self-depreciation was not something I felt like dealing with. "You really aren't that far behind in terms of power. Without my shouts and gear, I would be considerably weaker than you." That did the trick, though I could see a bit of disbelief in his eyes. Knowing I had time to look around, I could look at all the weapons used against us. If I find anything useful, I will pick it up.
While going through all the weapons, I noticed a few exciting things. "No, No, Oh, this bow could be helpful. Ah, here's what I've been looking for. I ignored Zoro's scream and went back to observing the weapon. It was bizarre; what lay in his hand was an extremely short rod that had a strange hilt. It had a mechanism that could be drawn back. "Yeah, this packs a serious punch. I could have used this to fight dragons." Not moments after my shout, I heard another scream. "Kahn! Zoro! You ungrateful jerks! How could you do this!? Turning the corner, I shouldn't have been surprised to see Luffy yelling at Zoro. At that very moment, Luffy diverted from Zoro and charged towards me, leaving me confused.
"Hey, give us time to explain," I said, not completing what I wanted to say while diving out of the way to avoid Luffy. "These people feed and shelter us, and this is what you do. You kill them, you cold-hearted bastard!" Luffy shouted with an abnormal amount of hatred in his voice.
"You're being ridiculous, Luffy. Didn't you consider that there might be a reason for what we did?" I exclaimed, my frustration evident in my voice. Eager to put an end to this, I gathered my magical energy. A green orb of crackling light began to form in the palm of my hand, pulsating with concentrated energy. With a focused gaze, I hurled the sphere towards Luffy. Luffy abruptly halted his forward motion as the orb made contact, his punch dissipating into the air. For a moment, it seemed the spell calmed down his mind. "Woah," Luffy uttered, his demeanor shifting slightly. "I'm hungry. I wonder if there's any more food lying around," he mused, his gaze moving around the area for sustenance.
Looking away from my captain to avoid strangling him, I look towards Nami, walking towards us. "It's about time you three stopped fighting. There is something we have to do. After all, Beli is on the line."
After walking into an alleyway a while later, we came across Miss Wednesday. "Oh, it's you. I've been meaning to ask you something. What do you aim to achieve by associating with folk of this sort?" The question definitely caught her off guard. She looked like she got caught with her hand in a sweet roll basket. After getting over the sudden surprise, she showed a face full of resolve.
"I can use your assistance. I've seen your strength, along with . I have to get back to my kingdom before it's too late. Nami told me you would be capable of getting me to Alabasta."
As the day drew to a close and the sun dipped beneath the horizon, we grappled with the weight of an imminent decision. "Well, at the end of the day, the decision isn't ours; it's Luffy's," I stated, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. My gaze drifted toward the determined figure of Luffy, his straw hat casting a long shadow across his face as he pondered the monumental choice ahead. I couldn't help but contemplate the possible ramifications of his decision and how it could bite us in the ass further down the line.
Midway through our conversation, we came to an intriguing discussion about a certain Crocodile. Upon the mention of his name, something interesting happened. Not wanting to deal with whatever the creatures were, I threw a couple fireballs at them, turning them into nothing but dust. "Y-you just killed the Unluckies. Without them, we can be cordial in avoiding any more numbered agents." The princess voiced disbelief at what had just occurred.
"Yo, Vivi! I've made up my mind. We're taking you back home. With that settled, let's get out of this place." Having decided on our course, all we had to do was get Ussop and Sanji and head back to the ship. Running as fast as we could, Zoro grabbed Sanji by the leg, and I grabbed Ussop by the scruff of the shirt. "Heh, who knew dragging someone like this could feel nice." I looked at Luffy when I finished saying that, giving him a thousand-yard glare while plotting my revenge.
Upon reaching the ship, we were forced to stop when Vivi refused to leave without Karou, whoever or whatever it was. The way the others spoke of it didn't sound human. Looking at the ship, we spotted the thing almost immediately. "Oh, so it's that bird? Hmm, interesting. It's body proportions don't make a lick of sense." With the bird on the ship, we boarded the vessel.
On the move again, we gathered on the deck to discuss a course for the next Island. We all froze when a voice seemingly interrupted our conversation. "We should look out for any boulders that may appear in our path." Realizing someone else was aboard, we all looked to see a woman.
My eyes widened as I blurted out, "Who are you, and when did you board The Merry?!" The question was met with a chorus of agreement from the others.
-Dovah Piece-
"M-Miss All Sunday, what are you doing here? I know you are up to something. You wouldn't come here for no reason." You couldn't miss the fear in Vivi's voice. It was palpable. Whoever this is, they are not to be trifled with. I would have to put in a lot of effort to actually succeed. When I was still in Tamriel, I had plenty of female companions, yet the air this woman put off was on a different level. She would be able to defeat all of them. 'Luckily, I have more than one trick I can use.' after that thought, I glanced around.
The scene was tense as I observed everyone around me on high alert. I swiftly joined my friend's ranks, tuning in to the discomfort caused by her presence. "You have about 30 seconds to vacate our vessel," I cautioned, my hand inching towards the pouch at my back. Amidst my racing thoughts, I was taken aback as I found myself suddenly grounded, my head seemingly held down, rendering me unable to lift my gaze.
"Oh, please, don't point those weapons at me. I'm not here to fight." She looked towards Luffy, and then I heard him complain, "Hey, give me my hat back. You can't have it."
"Monkey D. Luffy, I've wanted to meet you for a while. You have unfortunate luck, I mean, picking up a princess and running into this situation. Not to mention the direction your Log Pose is pointing. The name of the next Island is Little Garden. Know that it will be your downfall." I noticed that her voice sounded interesting. After peaking our interest, I was released from my grasp in time to see her toss something to Nami. "What I handed you there is an eternal pose. It'll let you skip over to the next Island. You should take it if you want to survive."
Luffy began walking towards Nami, aiming to grab whatever was tossed to her. Realizing he would do something uncalled for, I ran up to him, placing my hand on his shoulder. " If you're thinking of breaking whatever that is, you should honestly reconsider," Luffy was about to say something when I continued, " Just think about it, Luffy. You like adventure, right? If we keep this device, that's just another journey we can have. I'm not telling you we have to go there. All I can ask is that you think over all your options." I finished noting how all the others gave me a nod.
That harlot eventually left, leaving us to our own machinations, and we continued. Several weeks later, our journey led us to the location of an enclave known as Little Garden. Before this, I had diligently engaged in scholarly pursuits within the confines of the ship. My scholastic endeavors encompassed the study of weaponry, geographic exploration, petrology, and related areas. Reflecting on a previous encounter and recognizing a plateau in my progression of the Thu'um, I discerned the necessity to augment my capabilities. This prompted a decision to delve into the art of enchantment, not only for personal advancement but also to benefit my crewmates. I need to find something to replace Soul Gems as a catalyst.' I came out of my thoughts as Nami called us to the deck, formally announcing our arrival.
"You seem to always have the worst timing. I was right in the middle of my important research when you decided to interrupt me," I exclaimed, trying to convey my frustration. Despite my obvious irritation, Nami maintained her composure and calmly gestured towards Little Garden. "We can't predict how long the Pose will take to reset, so we must stay alert. Judging by the state of this Island, we should be prepared for some difficult challenges ahead." Luffy began excitedly bouncing up and down after she said that with stars in his eyes. I don't understand how he can have so much energy. "Hey, Sanji, make me something with nothing but meat. It's time for my exploration.
A/N Should my character have devil fruit or maybe find one and give it to someone else? Please let me know what you think.
Fruit Ideas so far: (Won't go too far into the capabilities)
Sea Sea Fruit: Legendary Logia, thought not to have existed it is one of a kind and is said to grant the user what he needs in a time of desperation. It was thought to be a myth even to the world government. Why was it seemingly lost to time?
Rock Rock Fruit: A basic paramecia, at least, that's what the devil fruit encyclopedia says. It lets you form any mineral or crystal you've come in contact with.
Fish Fish Fruit Model: Black Kracken Let the beast out. No one can stop it, so I'll advise you to give up now.
