PREVIOUS CHAPTER REVIEWS/COMMENTS
FFN Death Fury: Excellent chapter
Response: Thanks again, glad to see you back for another chapter. So I hope you like this new chapter also.
FFN shirkahn: Nice update. Also, I hope the HPSC gets taken out quickly. Eager to see the next chapter.
Response: I always appreciate the compliment. As for the HPSC… well you may or may not like the beginning of this chapter then. Although it may cause you a slight scare.
FFN Floatyy: The last 2 sentences are surely not ominous at all. No way at all… great chapter though!
Response: I'm glad you liked the chapter. But yeah, though it was obviously ominous to the point of essentially punching most people in the face. You will see an answer to one of the two sentences shortly within the story, and when you do the fireworks will be quite lovely. I can assure you.
FFN Guest: Total Garb. bye
Response: Most would straight up ignore this comment, but I will gladly embrace and raise one to the dumbass who took the time to type it. Why did it take you this long to realize this story is not a bashing fic to satisfy your manchild hate boner? It is comments like this that make the good writers among the more sensible and nontoxic members of the fanbase hold back from writing.
AO3 comteqfr (Guest): That's quite a massive domino effect.
I mean, even "humanity ends" and "Overhaul successfully ends quirk era" are more likely outcomes than "Nezu gets taken down".
Response: Your correct that is highly unlikely, but that is why I said "try to" as any plans they come up with are likely to fail. However, I am considering multiple different endings currently, as the story up till now and a fair bit into the future will still be able to split off into any of the considered endings. So, it is possible the HPSC may succeed in the end and take control of UA after getting Nezu out of their way. When it comes time I will make a final decision on which ending will occur and continue the story with that specific ending in mind.
AO3 Angras: I'm ngl this fic seems a bit immature. It definitely seems like it's written by a first-time writer with how things just sorta happen in the plot with little to no buildup. I'd recommend trying to plan out the story and working on adding as much content and explanation as you can to make it concise. Treat it like you are writing this story for someone who's never even seen/read MHA, that'll help a lot. The characters are very OOC, but I guess you can say that's just how they are in this fic, unless that wasn't your intention. Regardless I still find this entertaining and I'm going to keep reading it. I don't mean for this to be a rude comment, quite the opposite. I feel this fic has a lot of potential and I wanted to offer some constructive criticism, if you don't want that, just let me know and I won't say anything like this again. The only other thing on my mind is, will Izuku start using OFA soon? I feel like we've gone through a lot, but we still have yet to see Izuku work towards properly using his quirk, I'd love to see that happen soon. Keep up the good work, despite my critiques, I am still very interested and invested in this.
Response: To address your first point, this is far from my first story, I can assure you. As for why you don't see any buildup to moments, I can only assume you expect two or three chapters in a row focusing on one plot point before concluding it. My style of writing if you see my other works. Is that for smaller plot points I will have an immediate pay off in a couple chapters to progress the story. Other than that, I sprinkle little breadcrumbs here and there of what will happen in future chapters. This is before I either reveal the whole event that I hinted at or glossed over. Or I finally conclude the main plot point I was setting up for. I do this to get people trying to guess in between chapters or reveals to "buildup" excitement for when I reveal what did or will happen. As for treating it like I am writing it for readers who never saw the cannon story… well there is no point in reading fanfiction of a series if you do not know the cannon story it is derived from. As for the characters being OOC, that is a common misconception. If you want to make a compelling story then to a certain degree, you must treat the characters like actual people as you write them. That means depending on how they are presented certain information or experience something in a different way than they did in cannon. The character would obviously react differently and come to different conclusions than they would in cannon. As for something like the first chapter where I introduced a crossdressing gag. That was to set up multiple jokes and story points further in the story as you have already seen some for example like with Nejire. So the buildup it did is not immediate but there is an inevitable pay off. The uptight security guard that would have prevented Izuku from attending his first day if he didn't cross-dress was a small taste for other things. Like pointing out of, as well as punishment of Aizawa abuse of power and self-assured flaw perception. This goes for Endeavour and the HPSC similarly. This was so the readers are already prepped from the get-go and be comfortable as I explore such topics of questioning an authoritative figure. I always appreciate constructive criticism, so I do not mind if my readers point things out. But a piece of advice from me now. If you don't really look at the story, then you will mistake a writer's style of writing for mistakes which is personally why I love fanfiction. Several people can make stories based around the same concept, but each is unique and fun to come to understand for me as both a reader and writer on the sites I post on. Finally for one for all, when you look at the series in cannon Izuku does not start to properly train it until after his internship with Gran Torino. This was due to Aizawa not giving a shit to help him with an obvious problem and All Might's general lack of teaching experience with a kid Izuku age. That is why Vlad King, who unlike Aizawa is attentive to his students, would take his time with Izuku to avoid major injuries. Even so, it is not so slow that he won't make any progress before the sports festival, so enjoy that chapter soon to come.
AUTHORS NOTE
I hope you all enjoy this chapter as it checks back in on a character that has been forgotten for the last little bit of the story. And to make sure nobody freaks out at the end of the chapter, nobody will be dying… not yet anyways. With that said, the sports festival should kick off by chapter… probably twenty-eight? Chapter thirty at the absolute latest.
Also, as a side topic mostly unrelated to the story, I will be going on a long vacation to Portugal with my family and won't be back home till midway through the next month after I post this chapter. So, you will see me dropping my monthly chapters at the end of the month like I did for this month due to being busy getting ready for the big trip. I will be working on writing the chapters while still on vacation, but I doubt I will be able to upload them while I am in Portugal. If I can upload them though, I will not try to make everyone wait too long again, but I probably won't be able to so get ready to be patient again.

IZUKU MIDORIYA POV
Surrounded by enemies I stood shoulder to shoulder with Tetsu and Kendo as we were at the forefront of the pack with my only friend who transferred from 1-A to 1-B with me at my back. Even so I saw no reason to worry for once in my life as I had my classmates, my friends by my side. Giving a subtle nod to Tetsu and Kendo after locking eyes with each of them by means of a sideways glance getting nods and smiles from both of them. "All right everyone… let show them that we are heroes, NOT THEIR PREY!" I told everyone as we ran into the fight before us in groups.
HPSC TRAINING FACILITY
THIRD PERSON POV
Executive Gorira was personally overseeing Bakugo training as the President needed to make him properly obedient. Even so, Bakugo was not one that was so easily broken like the other hero candidates personally trained by him before. If anything, the more he was put down or yelled at, the more the young man was clearly growing stronger in willpower. Easily resisting the subtle brainwashing techniques, they apply during the training to make sure the few heroes they trained personally remained loyal to them.
"GO AGAIN YOU FIRECRACKER! I WANT TO SEE A REAL EXPLOSIVE CHARGE, NOT YOUR LIGHTLY HEATED SPRINTING!" Gorira exclaimed with both arms folded behind his back, his spine straightened with his chest puffed out as he stood on a platform above Bakugo. Using this pose as well as the taller platform he stood on to show and enforce an imposing as well as commanding attitude. However…
"FUCK OFF YOU HAIRY FUCKING EXTRA!" Bakugo screamed at the man after catching his breath before going back to the training course. This demonstrated for the umpteenth time that the usual tactics he used on people had very little effect, if any, on Katsuki Bakugo.
However,… this did not affect the man with the gorilla based mutant quirk. After all, his job was just to get the kid ready to destroy UA for them at the sports festival, so complete obedience was not necessary. In fact it was why they were teaching him to not to hesitate to use such big and dangerous tactics. 'If we get lucky, he will badly injure or even kill at least one of the no name general education brats that the overgrown rat loves so much.' Gorira thought to himself as Bakugo got back to the obstacle course.
There were five different sections to the obstacle course, each one for a different kind of technique. With walls separating sections three to four, and four to five… well technically there was also a wall between sections one and three but more details on that later.
Section one was a three-hundred-meter dash that normally is used to make trainees master a certain kind of technique. This one's for moving over a long distance quickly, however in this instance, they are leaving out the part where they must do it safely. Normally they add the safely part in order to avoid property damage or lawsuits from accidentally attacking civilians while in a rush.
As a result, if they are successful then they should see a lot of 'accidental' injuries in the first round at minimum. If anyone actually dies… oh well, they had zero concern as dying there would inevitably help them to make stronger heroes and save more lives down the line by taking UA out of Nezu control.
Bakugo tackled this one in a sense, by upgrading his flying technique by using only one arm at a time. He still had both hands aimed straight behind his back. But now he used only one at a time so he could unleash back-to-back smaller explosions to propel himself forward.
These shorter chains of smaller explosions made it so that even before the momentum of the previous explosion started to drop. It would go back up again, maintaining a more constant and stable speed than the small gaps of momentum loss when he did the fifty-meter dash at UA. After all, it takes more sweat to cover this longer distance as well as the time to generate more sweat over this longer distance.
The result was instead of being slightly over the six times time mark he was getting with the method he used for the fifty-meter dash. He got eighteen seconds with a potential end goal of sixteen in the sights of anyone who saw his training like Gorira did. This genuinely impressed the executive, almost making the man feel bad for planning to destroy their life by turning them into a potential murderer… almost being the keyword.
Section two is a climbing wall as tall as an average sized apartment building, a climbing wall with built in traps. The traps are to simulate a crumbling building so pieces of the wall automatically retract inward to make the candidate lose their grip suddenly. Granted, only three fourths of the pieces in the wall could retract as it was coded to essentially do a dice roll to decide if it would do so. If it was not completely random then it could be predicted with enough tries and therefore never be a challenge to the hero candidates attempting it.
However, this second part, like the first obstacle, was incredibly easy for Bakugo, in fact it was the easiest overall for him as he had footholds to help leap off of. As he already mastered flying with his quirk and therefore using it to dash long distances as well. So, the random chance of him losing his grip as he held the wall was nonexistent for him. As with others who had quirks that could enable flight, but that was to be expected when they designed any climbing obstacle. It was the third section onward that gave him trouble.
Section three is for attacking with maximum precision, it achieved the desired results by one of two methods they would alternate with a minor adjustment to the course. Using a skeet shooting machine for long range quirks and training dummies with sensors on certain parts of the body. The actual targets for the skeet shooting did not start till after they pressed a button on the other side of the climbing wall.
For skeet shooting, the targets were made of steel and not clay. They also had protected sensors that indicated if they were hit anywhere other than the outside edge. This was to avoid a glancing hit getting a passing score rather than a direct hit, they also made it a minimum of two hits out of six. Guaranteeing that a near hit that was not good enough in an actual fight, or a lucky hit would not get them a passing score. They had to hit a minimum of two out of six to pass to the final part.
For the training dummies, they had to hit specific parts of the body with a minimum force for the attacks to register. The minimum force adjusted for whether they had a physical enhancement quirk or not, as even the underground heroes had to pass this course once. They were arranged with three in front with four behind. Two of the ones behind were in the gaps between the middle and outside two as well as one on either side of the outside two at the front.
This was to simulate either forcing their way through the three in the middle or dashing around the group of villains. Taking out the edges of the group to get behind them and pass through, with a minimum of two taken down to unlock the next section. Once again, accounting for a lucky hit. With Bakugo they alternated between the two so he would learn to use his explosions on people directly more while also training his precision.
Bakugo got through this by landing on the button on the other side of the wall as he would position himself in the air first. Balancing on the button platform with one leg on the wall behind him to keep him from falling over. He also learned how to use his quirk in a more concentrated and precise attack by cupping his hands together in a certain way.
Section four is for attacking multiple targets in a short time frame, something that the candidate would get partially used to with section three. It worked by having the hero candidate press a button that was at the entrance of this part. For this, he got it done in just one attack, wiping out all targets with a single large-scale explosion.
There was a total of ten dummies standing before Bakugo in order of three, four, and three in essentially the same formation as previous. However, the sensors were all connected here to detect if they were hit at the same time. At least two targets had to be at the same time to be counted, and a minimum eight of the ten targets had to be technically defeated in order to continue.
The new set of dummies had the same vital sensors as the previous dummies. But to the shock of the training executive, the massive explosion from Bakugo was lethal enough to confirm all ten knockouts right away. 'The sheer destructive power of his quirk could probably allow him to solo demolish a building. If he chose to go into construction and got a work license for his quirk, then he would have fit right in with those foul-mouthed idiots playing in the dirt.' Gorira thought, now truly pitying the young man unlike when they started. Now fully understanding the potentially mediocre life the young man could have had if not for the HPSC needing a scapegoat/weapon.
Section five is meant to complete what the HPSC considers the basics for a hero training. The first two were based around movement capabilities, as swift and nimble movements were a necessity for fighting or chasing after a fleeing criminal. While the second two were based around combat, precision to not waste any attacks and the ability to fend off multiple enemies. This final section was split into three options with two of the three getting a passing mark while the third was considered a failure though not openly declared as such.
The first of the two to pass was pressing a button on a podium with a sign above saying important information, the button opening the exit. Option two was taking down a final dummy villain, the sensors on that opening the exit. Third and finally, was a badly injured looking hostage dummy when picked up and brought to the exit, would open it up for the person who did so.
This third one was considered a failure, because the HPSC decided long ago that even if one or two civilians died it was no problem. Rather, it was considered inevitable, so like the previous president of the HPSC the current president chose to save face and maintain a status quo. So, when someone chose to save a civilian they would make up excuses as to what they did wrong at certain parts. This was to have a seemingly good reason to make them do the whole obstacle course again without raising suspicion.
Eventually they would run out of excuses and would have to let them go for continuing to do something less valuable for the HPSC. Those who quickly figured out to choose one of the other two options or chose it right away would be considered to be made a 'real hero' for them. Bakugo chose… not the option they had anticipated and chose to save the civilian, but could not turn him away like others in the past due to still needing him for the sport festival.
'Based on what we know about him, he should have chosen the villain option or the information option if he was a bit more clever than expected. So why? Why did he choose to save the civilians?' Gorira questioned, unsure of what to do and why this was even happening in the first place. Little did he know that one thought, and only one thought ran through Bakugo's head through all of this.
'Deku… no Izuku, I am going to show you that I am the next number one hero. I will NOT let you pass me by as a hero like those extras we grew up with.' Bakugo thought, knowing despite how much he mocked or looked down on Izuku. The quirk nerd was still far more capable than those other idiots who joined him in mocking Izuku all those years.
'After all, a lack of a quirk was the only thing holding Izuku back from possibly surpassing me, but now… now he was not just closer to being more like All Might, like a hero, more than me than in just attitude and instinct. But in actual power if he was really able to take down one of those zero pointers in one hit.' He thought to himself thinking back to how he needed to use multiple max power explosions to bring it down.
UA NEZU OFFICE
THIRD PERSON POV
After Vlad had told everyone to go home after the rescue exercise and that Izuku would be taken home by him, they came here. In the office of what was very hard to argue to be, the smartest individual in all of Japan in terms of pure IQ.
"My apologies Midoriya, but we won't be doing any more training today as you need to be told of something important." Nezu told the young man, hoping that the presence of Hound Dog would be enough to get through this.
"You mean about how to help All Might keep his cover?" Izuku asked, not as oblivious as he first appears and able to realize All Might's real name reveal was not intended.
This reveal of All Might real name being revealed caused the principal to raise one of his tiny, almost nonexistent eyebrows. Giving a slightly sharper than usual look at Vlad King and the hero who revealed himself to the children… in a manner of speaking.
"I will have to have a talk with those two after… but for now we need to tell you a certain story of two brothers. One essentially the founder of hero society when he sparked a rebellion against his older brother. The older brother being a villain so dangerous, that unlike the other epithets thrown around by the media they use to sensationalize villains. Governments of countries spanning all the continents had acknowledged and given them their title with all seriousness… 'Demon Lord'..." Nezu warned Izuku, knowing that unless he told the teen beforehand the story, or rather the history, would not sink in properly for them.
The lack of shock on Izuku however made them all concerned, but Nezu signaled for All Might to get on with it anyways. Figuring they would see a delayed reaction in a moment they were greeted with… not a look of surprise. Rather it was a look of clear understanding of what they just told him and a calmness so natural it disturbed them a little bit.
"My apologies for saying this my boy, but we expected you to be shocked or even scared." All Might said, not too sure of what exactly was going on here, just like the others around him.
"Well, you see… my dad…" Izuku began trailing off, placing an absolutely absurd idea in all of their heads. The absurd idea being that All For One was his dad and that Izuku willingly became the apprentice of the man who supposedly killed his dad.
"... he told me about that villain when I told him I was applying to the UA hero course. Saying I should know of the old legends that he said were supposedly based on real history." He finished making them all relax somewhat as there were indeed lots of people among the populace who know the true history of Japan.
The fact that the HPSC tried to bury it and failed to do so was proof of how terrifying and definitive his reign was, even after it collapsed. Though no one dared to speak of it out loud in fear of being silenced by the HPSC and upper echelons of the government, permanently silenced to be more exact.
"Well that certainly makes a lot more sense, but that is not the end of the information we need to tell you." Nezu told him, knowing this would make him freak out this time.
"How does a history lesson about a long dead villain have to do with right now though?" Izuku asked as a few moments of awkward silence passed from the adults. This was due to the realization that they did not tell class 1-B about the multi-quirked villain known as Nomu. Once it sunk in for Izuku however, a panic attack quickly followed that Hound Dog had to help him.
"I know you did not agree to fight this dangerous villain, but one day, due to my failure, due to my weakness, you may have to fight this villain one day." All Might said apologetically to his protege, feeling ashamed he may have to push his most dangerous responsibility onto Izuku.
"I… I CAN DO IT!" Izuku shouted fervently and with a clear resolution in his voice despite panting hard. "So long as I have you by my side, I can do it, I can become the hero you and society need me to become." He continued with his face now taking a slight shade of red, showing a very rare side to himself, one that All Might knew was the real him deep down.
For the others who knew him much less personally than the symbol of peace, they were quite surprised. They saw faint sparks of confidence burst into small, short lived flames of courage here and there. But never did they think Izuku had this in him already… except for Hound Dog.
The guidance counselor/hero had years of experience learning to read the students. So unlike them, he did expect this as Izuku was no longer held down by society anymore as a whole. Or rather to be more precise, he expected Izuku to slowly yet still at a relatively fast rate, undergo an intense personality change. Preferably for the better, but just to be safe they should keep him as far from the quirkest as possible to avoid fatal punches to the face… while the faces were still intact enough to be faces that is.
'Again, it is not necessarily a bad thing for Midoriya, but that change plus the overwhelming strength of All Might if not greater. Can easily result in him accidentally killing or damaging a classmate for the rest of their life if he loses his temper even once.' Hound Dog thought to himself, considering suggesting to everyone they leave Midoriya out of the sports festival for everyone else's safety.
But before the conversation could continue, Izuku had suddenly passed out as his face became extremely pale after becoming red before, making them all worry.
"MIDORIYA/IZUKU!" Vlad King and All Might shouted as they went to grab him from Hound Dog who caught him as he was closest at the time. This was also when they received a notice from Recovery Girl by calling Nezu's office phone.
"GET MIDORIYA TO MY SECONDARY OFFICE IMMEDIATELY! I NEED TO GET HIM HOOKED UP TO ONE OF MY NUTRIENT PACKS AND GIVE HIM SOME FEVER MEDICINE RIGHT AWAY!" She shouted before ending the call as they heard something fall in the background as they heard her rush to grab something.
"You heard her, you take Midoriya there as fast as you can, Yagi. We can discuss after what I heard about All Might identity and the current problem, but for now I will guide the other two to that office." Nezu said as he hopped onto Hound Dog shoulder. The other two looked at the principal with confusion, as the secondary lab was a secret lab. Recovery Girl used it for her medical research and emergency fatal treatments… as well as All Might on a regular basis to keep his condition more secretive.
