Here is a new Robotech Story. I have been working on it off and on over the last two years along with continuing my other stories.

Rick was in his quarters at base officer bachelor barricks. It was close to midnight and he was waiting on a couple guest. The meeting was happening so late so that it was hope no one would learn of it. This was because the the two people and him shared a secret. All three of them had the memories of their older selves. While Rick and one of them had the memories for over 30 years the other only had the memories for up to a couple more years.

Rick had come back in time and had been back for around 5 years. He woke in his 17 year old body and at the begining of his senior year of high school. It was a great shock and took a little time to come to grips with what happen to him.

He wasn't sure if he was the only one to come back till Admiral Donald Hayes had come to Rick's fathers funeral. Pop had passed away like he did towards the end of Rick's senior year. The Admiral took the oppertunity to speak to Rick. The Admiral told him that he and Emil Lang had been back a little while and had already started making changes.

They talked for a little bit setting in motion a plan to help improve Earth's chances agianst the Zentraedi and other enemys like the Haydonites that wanted to destroy all the races that used protoculture.

They had taken the first step by improving the technology used in the SDF-1 and the mecha assighned to the battle fortress. The second had been to get rid of those like Senator Russo, who had only cared about himself and how he could make money for himself and his friends in the military industry. The third step was getting Rick in the RDF earlier and assighned to the SDF-1 before she was to leave and the Zentraedi arrived.

So after graduating High Scool Rick enlisted and left for the RDF's officer acadamy and then flight school. When he arrived a flight training as a second lieutenant he was surprised to see the VFA-6 Alpha fighter. He graduated at the top of his class and was promoted to first lieutenant.

Because of how well he did at the flight training and using the differant modes in aerial combat training he was assined to the flight school to help develope new tactics and train new pilots in advance air combat tactics.

Now Rick was a newly appointed Lieutenant Commander and was due to ship out to Macross Island and the SDF-1 leading a new squadron of Alpha's made up of pilots from the last class. This would be the first new squadron to be assighned to the SDF-1's air group. Over the last few years new squadrons had been assighned to ships in space.

Rick knew there was two space carriers, the Enterprise and the Akagi in service at present. He had been to both while training new pilots. It's one of the things he suggested to help pilots learn the difference in atmospheric and space combat.

Rick was brought out his thoughts at the sound of a knock. He got up and let his two guest in. Once they where both in Rick shut and locked the door.

Rick greeted the two. "Welcome Admiral, DR. Lang."

"Rick. Glad to see you doing so well." replied Dr. Lang.

"Lets get started, we don't have much time and Rick is flying out tomorrow." Interrupted Admiral Hayes." Emil if you would brief Rick on the changes to the SDF-1"

"Very well Admiral." replied Emil. "First you should know you will have the only Alpha squadron assighned to the SDF-1. The other five squadrons are the VF-1 Valkyrie. That fighter was already being assighted to Macross Island when I came back. It took me another year to redesign the Alpha and get it approved for production.

Most of my time was trying to upgrade the and redesign parts of the SDF-1 so she would be up to par with at least the SDF-3. I was able upgrade the electronics, Refex furnace and the Fold drive some. So there is more power then the old SDF-1 we knew. In place where the Promethes and Daedalus were attached are permanent bays. They have three levels. The bottom is for ground forces. The center is landing bays for take off and landing. The top most is landing bay operations and crash rescue.

There are 6 main bays on the the SDF-1 for mecha. Three on the port and three on the starboard. The top two bays are flight maintance and storage. The middle are flight operations where all assighned aircraft are kept. Bottom level is for ground mecha. Between the bays is where all the offices, ready rooms, training center, breifing rooms and other support facilities are for the Air Group and ground units.

The SDF-1 can hold upto 16 fighter squadrons and a 100 support craft. Though currently there is only 6 squadrons assighned plus 50 support craft. While it can hold a brigade of ground mecha it only has a small battalion.

The only other big changes is the bridge and superstructure. It is more heavely armored and has 6 laser turrets around it in addition to another 42 around the ship. The bridge is like the one on the Ark Angel. The SDF-1 does not transform. I took that function out. Those are all the technical things you should know, Admiral."

Admiral Hayes looked at the young man in front of him and had to remember who he was before he came back. "Rick as you know we kept most things the same. We didn't want to change things to much so a lot of what we are expecting to happen will and we have the same people in place on the SDF-1 that was on it last time. This is mostly so you will know how the crew will react to things. Which means your going to have to deal with my stubborn daughter and her personel issues she had last time.

Because of your knowlege you will be the biggest factor in keeping from losing a lot of the pilots like you did the first time till you all had learned how to fight in space. That's why I had you stationed at the flight school as an instructure and approved some of the advance combat training to happen in space. It will give you credibility. It will also help hide your past.

You have trained most of the pilots that are stationed on the carriers in space. They have been using the advance combat tactics you developed and it has improved combat efficiency in space fighter combat. Do you have any questions?"

"No sir. I have been preparing myself for this, the last 5 years. It won't be easy, I know. Nobody will be the people I knew before coming back. Time changes people and they have not experienced that change yet. Roy will be the easiest to be around because I have been able to see him since being back. Lisa will be the hardest. We both know how she is at this time in her life. But I know her better then anyone else so I can work on becoming her friend and bringing her out of her shell." answered Rick.

"Good luck Rick." Admiral Hayes responded. "Also if you need to, give Henery this thumb drive. It will brief him on the three of us. I made it so that if you needed more support, you or Emil would have his."

After a round of good byes and good lucks Rick's two guest left. Rick put the thumb drive with his flight bag and headed off to bed.
