Alexander didn't expect to make it to where he was now.

He was on Silver Mountain, climbing the dangerous terrain in search of what might be a myth. Alexander wasn't sure if that person was really here, but he wouldn't stop searching. Not until he had scoured every corner of this mountain. He couldn't give up. He wouldn't.

Alexander managed to traverse the cave system of Silver Mountain. Although he expected to find some trainers to challenge within the caves, he saw no one. This didn't surprise him, given that his knowledge of the games wasn't 100% reliable.

What he did encounter were wild Pokémon, such as Onix, Graveler, and Ursaring. He even had the misfortune of running into a pack of Sneasel that tried to hunt him down, led by their leader, Weavile. Fortunately, his Hisuian Typhlosion easily defeated the entire pack and their leader without the need for his other Pokémon to interfere. Alexander expected nothing less from his ace Pokémon, Hades.

An arrogant nickname if one knew its meaning, but as far as Alexander knew, only his Pokémon and he understood the significance of their names. He expected nothing less from his strongest partner and ace of the team. Not to mention, Hades was unique in his species. Alexander didn't believe there was another Typhlosion in its Hisuian evolved form. The only reason Alexander managed to evolve him was due to sheer luck and his extensive knowledge of the Pokémon world.

Well, Alexander didn't know everything, but he knew a lot. He wasn't into competitive Pokémon battling, but it didn't matter, since Pokémon in this world could learn an unlimited number of moves and weren't limited to four. They could even have two abilities, which was quite rare but not unheard of. Alexander had heard of a case where a Pokémon had three abilities, but he wasn't certain of its truth.

Not that it mattered.

Alexander and his Pokémon team had grown very strong. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that in a battle against Cynthia, he would emerge victorious. He wasn't sure if he could win easily, but he would win regardless. Call him arrogant, but Alexander believed he could even defeat Leon. But that was just a supposition; he didn't know how strong they were compared to their counterparts in the anime and games. He knew nothing about the manga, so mentioning it wasn't worthwhile.

What little he knew of the manga wouldn't help him at all. He was sure that the Pokémon world he was in wasn't based on the manga but was more a mix between the games and the anime. However, Alexander noticed more indications from the games than the anime.

Fortunately, the world wasn't like one of those dark stories people wrote. Alexander was very glad it was the Pokémon world he knew. Sure, it wasn't 100% accurate, and there was more realism involved. He had encountered disturbing things and violent Pokémon, but not as bloody and exaggerated as some people liked to write.

The power of friendship was still a very important factor in this world, which Alexander expected. After all, it was a world created by Arceus and its helper Mew, or so Alexander supposed.

He knew this world very well, after all, he had been trapped here for a long time—not too long, but long enough to see the dark parts caused more by humans than by Pokémon. Despite that, the empathy and kindness in this world sometimes puzzled Alexander. Not that it was bad, but it was surprising compared to his home world.

If it weren't for the generosity of the people in the Pokémon world, Alexander was 100% sure he would have died again, or at least never become strong enough to get where he was now.

"Fuck, it's fucking cold," Alexander said with a shivering sigh. He felt Hades move closer to him to keep him warm. He seriously considered taking Lumiere out of its Pokéball to give him more warmth but dismissed the idea. Hades was competent enough to maintain his body temperature within human norms.

Fortunately, Alexander had been cautious and sent a message to Alder about his whereabouts. He didn't tell Alder the reasons why he was visiting Silver Mountain. Alexander told Alder not to worry, but in case he didn't send a message within two weeks to ensure he was okay, Alder would come to Silver Mountain.

Alder trusted Alexander because he knew firsthand how strong he was. But after the assassination attempt on him, Alexander had promised Alder that he would at least notify him whenever he went to an isolated or dangerous place. Just thinking about that incident caused a phantom pain in his neck and arm, where a Bisharp had slashed him.

If Alexander hadn't used his arm to prevent the absolute speed monster from slashing his throat, he would have died a very painful death. The damn Pokémon was so fast that even his Gengar and Aegislash had trouble reacting to the attack.

Luckily, Bisharp couldn't cause more damage before his Pokémon team reacted with vengeful fury. The battle he got involved in, with two people having a full team of complete monsters plus the other Pokémon they had, was the most intense and brutal battle he had ever had in his new life.

The only reason Alexander survived the brutal attacks was because Golurk used its body to shield him from any harm. It reminded him of how Reiner Braun protected Bertholdt Hoover from Mikasa's wrath in the second season of Attack on Titan.

Alexander tried to find out more about the attackers along with Alder and some select members of the Unova League high command, but they couldn't find anything about them. They didn't seem to be a team that Alexander recognized. This appeared to be a completely new threat.

The unknown bothered Alexander. From what he gathered from the idiots who attacked him, every member of the organization was equally or even stronger than they were, which was quite concerning. Not even Team Plasma had been a threat to him.

Which was bad, considering how strong Ghetsis was and the Shadow Triad who were very loyal to Ghetsis. If Alexander were honest, he'd admit he had more trouble with those two idiots than with the leader of Team Plasma and his ninjas. But Alex liked to think it was because they had Pokémon that had advantages over his.

Even if he knew that wasn't entirely true.

Anyway, he was searching for the legendary trainer from Kanto for two reasons. One, because Alexander wanted to defeat him. He understood that this trainer was a prodigy who had risen to the top to a monstrous level, even much faster than he did. He was the benchmark, and defeating him would mean he was the strongest in the world. Sure, he could try to beat Leon, the "world's strongest champion," according to statistical data.

But that was only because the Kanto prodigy hadn't faced Leon. Alexander couldn't decide on his own who between the two was stronger, but Alexander leaned towards the Kanto prodigy because of the type of training he had undergone on Silver Mountain.

Two, because he wanted to recruit him to help investigate the unknown team that tried to take his life. Alexander knew that for there to be hope of that happening, he would have to defeat him in a Pokémon battle.

Alexander couldn't lose, not with what was at stake. Sure, despite the significance of the outcome, that didn't mean he wouldn't enjoy it. Despite everything, he wasn't too worried. He trusted his team, and they trusted him.

Alexander was forced out of his thoughts to use his forearms to shield himself from the blizzard. He had been searching for more than three hours on this stupid mountain. And the higher he climbed Silver Mountain, the colder Alexander felt. He was genuinely surprised that the Kanto prodigy hid on such a high mountain. Even if he already knew that beforehand, he could only have more respect for this trainer.

It's one thing to know what he had done and another thing to experience what he had been enduring to do it. Red was truly impressive.

Alexander felt Hades gently touch his hand to get his attention. He immediately turned to look at his faithful teammate. "What's up Hades, did you find any leads?"

Hades growled before nodding in confirmation and started walking in the opposite direction Alexander had been heading. Alexander didn't hesitate to follow closely behind Hades' body to keep warm. Hades had become overprotective since what had happened. Not that he could blame him.

Hades made sure Alexander was always following him, given the number of dangerous and strong Pokémon that existed on Silver Mountain. Alexander looked at the shadow beneath his feet and could feel the ghost energy emanating from it as if they were ready to jump out at any moment and defend him from the slightest danger.

Alexander didn't consider himself in danger; he trusted his team. And although many of his companions were bitter about his near-assassination, Alexander didn't blame them. Nothing could have prepared them for such a coordinated ambush. But despite affirming that he was okay and nothing serious had happened other than his arm being incapacitated for several weeks, they had become more vigilant of their surroundings.

Alexander didn't mind that they were, given the natures of the types he specialized in. Ghost-type Pokémon were overprotective of the things they loved, and if you threatened to harm what they loved, then you had to be prepared for their sadistic and vengeful wrath.

"You know I don't blame them for what I go through, right?" Alexander repeated once more, and he would keep saying it until they understood his words. Hades stopped and looked at him from the corner of his eye before snorting and continuing to walk.

Alexander sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, never stopping to follow Hades. "We were all taken by surprise. It was a one-time event, Hades. They won't catch us off guard again, I promise you we'll make them pay, but you have to understand it wasn't any of your fault. get it?!"

Hades stopped before turning around and placing his mouth over his hand. Understanding immediately what Hades wanted, Alexander stroked his head. "It's okay. buddy, they won't get away with it, but right now we have to concentrate on defeating that guy Red if we want his help. From what I understand he respects the force."

Of course, defeating him didn't mean Red would agree to go with him to investigate this highly dangerous criminal team, but it was a remote possibility that Alexander was willing to bet on.

Alexander stopped petting Hades, causing him to growl slightly, but he ignored him in favor of observing his shadow. "The same goes for you guys. okay?" he said to his Pokémon hiding in the shadow he was walking on.

Even though there was no change, Alexander could feel the ghost energy starting to emanate, sending a chill down his spine. He wasn't bothered by it; he was used to it.

Alexander and his faithful companions continued their search, walking for only another thirty minutes before they came across a path that had been artificially made by someone. It didn't seem too advanced, but enough to know there might be signs that someone had been there.

Alexander noticed something suspicious about the path.

The snow didn't accumulate on the rocky ground, not to mention he could feel the psychic energy preventing the snow from erasing the paved path.

Alexander also noted that it was something done recently. Otherwise, using psychic energy just to maintain the path would be a waste of energy, and Alexander could think of more efficient methods to keep the path marked.

Alexander could only come to one logical conclusion about the path. Red knew they were here and had detected them for some time. He briefly wondered if that was why Hades had been able to find the path, but that didn't matter at the moment.

He could only smile excitedly because he knew what it meant. He was waiting for them. He was sure Red didn't know his motives but could infer them from the Typhlosion protecting him. Alexander wondered if there had been other trainers who had tried to challenge Red or if he was the first to do so.

He shook his head; those were questions for another time. Alexander looked at Hades, who was watching him with a cryptic eye lazily and tenderly that made him smile.

Hades smiled excitedly, showing some of his sharp teeth that resembled those of snakes. With that, both began walking along the path paved for them by the kind Red, or at least Alexander hoped it was.

When the path ended, Alexander could feel his shoulders relax at the sight of the Kanto prodigy looking at the sky while stroking the back of a giant Charizard at his right side and a small Pikachu perched on his left shoulder.

Alexander blinked in surprise as he noticed that Red was on his back wearing his long hair tied back in a ponytail, but given the length of time the Kanto prodigy hid on Mt. Silver it would make sense. Since there was nothing to cut it off.

"Hey, you're Red, right? I've heard a lot about you and how you were the strongest trainer of your time despite your young age, you sure have grown up now. huh?" Alexander smiled watching him carefully.

"…"

Hades narrowed his eyes in annoyance at seeing his trainer ignored, but he neither acted nor showed his emotions. He trusted his trainer could handle something like this.

"Quiet guy." Alexander chuckled for a classic moment when he was young. "Well I'd like to say I want to get straight to the point, but first I want a battle against you. 6 on 6 in single combats. All moves are allowed and we are free to change our pokemon to our liking then. what do you say?"

Red's Charizard had turned his head to snort amusedly while glancing at his trainer. Red turned to look Alexander in the eyes while crossing her arms over her chest, making it more prominent.

The girl's scarlet red eyes met the boy's bright purple ones. "I accept your challenge," said Red, a female.

Alexander's brain froze at that.

"Besides, I'm more of a silent girl," Red said amusedly, as it wasn't the first time she'd been mistaken for a man.

"Oh…" Alexander didn't know what to say to that unexpected turn of events. Honestly, he had never encountered a character who had changed gender. So he assumed all genders would basically be the same, but he was certainly amused to have been surprised once more.

Alexander was sure Arceus was laughing his head off at him.

Well, this mini-story will be in short chapters of 1500 to 4000 words depending on my time. I'm just writing it for fun and fantasy. To be honest.

by the way, I also want help for the nicknames of the pokemon of Alexander's team I am not so good at them.
