A/N Until the final week of this month, I'm just doing OC engines here. Because then it's truly fall and I'm saving the request until then.
I'm Alfred, the new engine on the railway. The Skarloey Railway's my home because my old railway's dieselizing. I was bought by Mr. Percival to replace an engine he lost to illness. As an outgoing, charming, logical and cheeky sort, I want to make friends on my new railway.
I'm getting to know the engines here, now that I've been checked at the Steamworks. Some of them are very emotional, which I quite dislike. I'm aware of what they feel, but it bothers me they can't control their emotions. Like Charity, who frequently bawls her eyes out. I know she's very upset and anxious about Sir Handel dying, but does she have to wail so much? I prefer Joshua, Adam and Duncan, because they're more logical. However, I can't always hold back my emotions. I don't cry often, but when I do, I can shed a great many tears, preferably not in front of everyone. Someone I trust, like Driver, I can have around to dry my tears. Like the first time I cried, Driver at the time gave me care and compassion. He listened attentively and was there for me. I didn't know why my eyes were leaking, but he told me, while wiping away my tears with a cloth. He didn't judge me, which is what I need to know. I've got to be able to trust someone to not think I'm weak to let them see my tears. I may not be as emotional as some, but I can love and care about others, in my way. I think Joshua, Adam and Duncan could be my friends and some engines on other railways. Like the standard-gauge railway where Thomas is from. I quite like him and some others. He says as long as I'm a Really Useful Engine, there's a place for me here on Sodor. He's usually happy, but he can get very sad. I mostly like my Sodor life, except when some engine's being very emotional, as I quite dislike someone being like that and want to solve their problem, if it's someone I care about.
