A/N I'm ending this whenever I'm running out of steam, with a time hop of Charity being better from her anxiety due to her first, abusive, fireman.
Charity's next weekly appointment with Janie had come. Janie arrived at the railway and was told how to find her client.
Charity and her crew were told about Janie's being there.
Janie asked Charity, "What bothers you the most?"
"Losing someone I care about, like all my older siblings and a great many other engines on my old railway. Most of my friends have been scrapped and replaced with diesels. I came here to replace Skarloey because I was so anxious about being scrapped, I had severe crying spells all the time I could cry." She began to cry, sobbing hard and sniffling long and loud, her eyes wet with tears.
Janie said, "Cry, Charity. Here it's safe to have sadness falling down your face, so let it all out."
Charity's driver said, pulling out a cloth from his pocket, "I'm here for you, so you can rely on me to dry your eyes. I've got your hanky, so just cry into it.". He rubbed her sodden cheeks and wiped her tear-wet eyes, then pressed the cloth to her eyes and wiped all her tears away as best he could.
Charity sobbed some more, fresh tears welling up in her eyes. She sniffled again, hard, coughed as she choked on her tears and hiccupped. She gasped and gulped, shaking as she wept non-stop and let her driver comfort her.
Charity was so overwhelmed with emotion she sobbed and sobbed until she had no more tears to cry. Her driver dried her last tears away, patting the stray huge water droplets from her face and dapping tears in her eyes away until they were dry. Her face was red and her sore eyes were flame red and puffy from her crying spell. Charity's session went on, then she had a drink and went back to work with Luke.
Charity and Luke were cheeky towards Peter Sam, a harmless joke and they all laughed. Charity was too busy laughing herself to be paranoid she was being laughed at. Then, the day went on for the little engines.
A/N Charity's driver thinks of the comfort cloth as her hanky. Because Charity replaced Skarloey, the younger engines of the Skarloey Railway relative to Skarloey were still alive when Charity came.
