A/N My steam for Charity and Rowena isn't as good, so I'm doing this as the end.
Another weekly therapy session for Charity had come. Janie came to the Skarloey Railways and asked where Charity was and if she had her crew. She then went there for the appointment.
Janie asked Charity, "How's everything?"
Charity said, "I'm trying to think about pleasant, happy, funny or exciting things more, things that make me smile. But sometimes, I'm too overwhelmed with emotion and need a good cry. Driver, if he's around when I'm getting in a bad place, helps me focus on fun, interesting or exciting things, but he's still there to dry my eyes and rub my cheeks when I need the comfort of tears. Like I've got to just let it all out, let tears fall like rain, if something reminds me of my abuse.". She began to cry, her face wet with thick tears, sobbing and sniffling.
Charity was alone, except for Janie, with her crew on break.
Janie said compassionately, "Just let yourself go. It's fine to have sadness falling down your face, because I've got hankies to wipe the tears from your cheeks and eyes. I'm here for you", as she pulled out a handkerchief and softly dried Charity's tears. She gently rubbed the little engine's cheeks and wiped her eyes. She tuned into Charity's emotions, looked at the big picture and tried to see from multiple perspectives, validating Charity's emotions and offering her empathy.
Charity cried some more, heartfelt, wrenching sobs. She sniffled again, hard, coughed as she choked on her sobs and hiccupped. She gasped and gulped, shaking from her constant sobs as huge tears poured from her eyes, not once stopping.
She said, as she continued to wipe the tears away, "Let it all out because I'm not scared or uncomfortable with a waterfall of tears. Release the ocean of hurt.". She pressed her hanky to Charity's eyes and wiped all her tears away as best she could.
Charity cried, sobbing endlessly until she had no more tears to shed. Janie had to get a second hanky because Charity' tears soaked the first and, when Charity finished her cry, dried her last tears away. patting stray huge water droplets from her face and dapping the tears in her eyes away until they were dry. Janie put the sodden handkerchiefs in her bag and wiped her eyes on her sleeve. teared up from Charity's hurt. Their session went on.
Janie said at the end, "I shall always be dapping tears away when you cry without your crew in my therapy." and gave her insight.
In the weeks that followed, Charity improved with regard to her anxiety, but remained an extremely sensitive soul.
A/N I'm out of steam for this, so I don't think Charity will have big role anymore. Doing the Rowena request next and that's also a wrap-up, because I'm short of steam for her. Starting next week, I need to focus on my next new fic, All But One, so only Jessica and sometimes Autumn will be in this after tomorrow.
