Chapter 1: The Descendants

On Fishman Island

The Straw Hats left Fishman Island once more. Jimbei decided to stay behind to finish his duties on his home island but still kept his promise to seek out his friends once he left.

Jimbei was at the Sea Forest paying his respects to the late Queen Otohime. "My queen...your dream is becoming a reality." He smiled warmly at the graveyard. "I wish you were here to see the new hopeful Luffy and his crew have shown. Fairy Tail has taken in some of our kind with that, our people will have more courage than ever." He then walked away and went through a nearby path that led through the forest. In the end, he came across several graves. "Fisher Lily...I hope you and your crew are safe in the third world." He then looked next to the third grave by Lily's gravestone which read "R.I.P Vanessa" and his lips curled up feeling tears form in the corner of his eyes. He quickly wiped them away still a slightest bit of hope still within him. "I pray that they're somehow safe and brought home."

One Night at Neptune's palace.

The prisoners Hordy Jones and his crew rested in their cell for their havoc on Fishman Island. "Cough...cough..." Hordy Jones hacked. "Damn...this form is such a pain in the ass...stupid humans...shall pay..."

"Ca-Ca...humans...cough...suck," Daruma said elderly tone.

"Being in this form is such a Dosun pain..." Dosun said in a wheezy tone.

"If only we could use the powers we were given by the heavens to make us young again..." Zeo said leaning his body over.

"Hiccup...hiccup...if I had some boozes then I could drink my stress away..." Hyouzou said in a drunken yet elderly tone.

"Heehee...this old body is such...a thorn in...my side..so "much"!" Ikaros groaned with a cough.

A guard was walking by and tab his trident against the bars. "Hey, you guys keep it down, Fukaboshi told you to stop speaking so the children don't hear your poisonous words."

Suddenly a portal opened. "What is that?" The guard pointed his trident at the portal and out came a stranger in a cloak. "Who are you and how'd you get in here?!" The stranger responded by putting out their left hand and then the guard rolled back as he fell over unconscious.

"What the hell...who are you?" Hordy Jones began to limp to the bars. "Hey...answer me, who are you, stranger?"

The cloaked figure pulled back their hood revealing a female demon with a human-like face, though, her skin was dark purple. "I'm someone that can help you and your cellmates." Hordy Jones gritted his teeth. "Why would I need something from a filthy human?" Despite his racist comment, the demon didn't seem phased. "For the record, I'm a demon, but, not the kind that you guys are familiar with."

"What...does that mean?" Ikaros raised his body while leaning to the left.

"Ca-Ca..cough...yeah, you aren't making any sense weird-o." Daruma hacked roughly.

"If you want answers, then I suggest you guys come with me," The new demon picked up a set of keys. "So, what do you say, would you rather use this chance to regain your youth or just rot in this cell until you die."

Several more guards were arriving. "Jimbei has finally returned home safe and sound."

"No kidding, his stories of what he saw in Earthland were quite unbelievable."

"Yes, a black wing dragon ready to destroy the world, talk about insane."

"I wonder what Jimbei is doing now."

"He's been in the visiting Tiger's and Lily's grave,"

"Too bad that Tiger and Lily are gone forever."

One of the guards noticed a bright white shining brightly from afar. "What was that light?" He ran toward the spot where the light was. "Hey man, what light, I don't see anything."

"I was sure that-" The guard looked ahead to the cell where Hordy Jones and his crew were. "Argh! Hordy Jones and his crew are missing!"

"Yeah, though, Vander Decken is still inside, though!" Another guard opened the jail cell and held Shirahoshi's stalker by his arms. "Hey, wake up you jerk! Where is Hordy Jones and his crew!"

No answer came from Vander Decken.

"Hey Decken, don't make me repeat myself! Where is Hordy Jones and his crew!"

Still no answer, the frustration of the palace guards. "Ugh, alert the royal family at once! Inform Jimbei of this expected jailbreak!"

"Jailbreak, the bars weren't even broken down!"

"We'll figure that out later, alert the royal family and Jimbei immediately!"

"Yes sir!"

At Earthland

Team Natsu was making them to the Fairy Tail to meet up with Mest.

"I have a question, do you know who these friends of Mest are?" Erza asked curiously.

"Yeah, I mean, do we need help from others?" Natsu asked a little bored.

Anna just smiled. "I know you and others are eager to know who they are, but be patient, all things will come in due time."

Erza chuckled a bit. "That's what you said when we first met." Anna chuckled in return.

Soon they arrived at the guild and the moment they went inside, Makarov along with Jura, Laxus, the rest of the Thunder Legion, and everyone in the guild were there.

"Jura, why are you here?" Gray asked curiously.

Jura had his arms crossed. "I was told that Fairy Tail is going on another journey to a different world." He looked a bit concerned.

Erza's eyebrow rose. "How did you find that out?" Jura's eyes turned to Mest who was standing by which the S-Class wizard noticed. "I see...but, is there a problem?"

"We can answer that..." At the entrance to the guild there stood a black-haired woman with a ponytail and glasses. "It has come to our attention that we learn that Fairy Tail has stumbled upon ancient machines that were thought to be a myth, but after hearing the rumors and stories from citizens we did some digging."

Natsu stepped forward. "Look lady, skip to the introductions, just who the hell are you?"

"Forgive my manners, I'm Lahara, Head captain of the Custody Enforcement Unit."

Lahara

Head Captain of the Custody Enforcement Unit

Twin Brother of Lahar

Lucy didn't know why, but the woman's appearance began to ring a bell. "You look a bit familiar though we haven't met." The woman chuckled. "I take it that you and your friends met my brother Lahar, rather, my twin." Most of Fairy Tail gasped. "I heard that my brother died when Tartaros attacked the Magic Council headquarters. After his death, I was given the position of head captain."

Natsu was still not understanding something. "That doesn't explain why you're here, this is our problem!"

Gray had to agree. "Yeah, I mean, we never saw eye-to-eye with you guys."

"I can see that salamander and ice stripper are such simple-minded idiots as usual." A tall muscular man with long dark brownish hair walked forward. He had red paint over the top of his face. He wore ragged trousers and he was barefoot. He had red face paint on the upper part of his face leaving his bottom face unpainted. "Not surprising since Salamander has always possessed the manners of an impulsive child."

Kovu

Member of the Custody Enforcement Unit

Magic: Unknown

"Who are you?" Gray asked.

"I'm Kovu, the Jungle Beast..." Elfman narrowed his eyes at the jungle man. "You think that title makes you a man?" The jungle man growled viciously at the take-over beast soul mage and began to release his magic energy.

Team Natsu and the other members felt utterly stunned. Erza felt the pressure from the muscular man. "What is this magic?"

"So powerful...yet mysterious..." Lucy thought a little shaken.

Natsu grinned. "Well, he looks like a good challenge."

"Don't waste your breath."

Primo

The Cyborg Machias

Member of the Custody Enforcement Unit

Another man wore metallic armor that had a major portion which formed a large hoop-like collar around his neck. He had a hood over his head and on the left side of his face was covered in a metallic eyepiece.

Gajeel narrowed his eyes at the man. "Just who the hell are you?" He caught a whiff of the man's scent. "He doesn't smell like a human...what the hell is he?"

"I'm Primo, the Cyborg Machias."

"Machias!" Fairy Tail exclaimed in shock as they remembered the Spriggan Twelve Wall, the Machina created a fake puppet of himself that took out three members of the Thunder Legion, Temukai, and Rena.

Aquapad glared at the machine man. "I heard of that Race, I believe there was a Twelve Member that was one."

"Machias Wall." Laxus confirmed. "One of the Twelve was a machine that wielded magic power."

Primo scoffed. "Don't lump me in with that pathetic copy!" His outburst stunned some of the members.

Evergreen tilted her head in confusion. "Copy, what do you mean by that?"

Primo looked at the Fairy mage user's way. "You don't know, the Twelve Shield you speak of was built by the Alvarez Empire based on my ancestors, The Tech..."

Anna gasped quietly. "The Tech..."

"The Tech...wasn't that a race that helped seek out the Dimensional Gateways?" Lucy inquired.

Primo smirked. "Well, I can see some of you Fairy Tail wizards do pay attention." Nobody in Fairy Tail knew if they could take that as a compliment or an insult. "Yes, my ancestors were known as the Tech. As for me, I'm the Descendant of that Race, known as the Machias. Though, my armor is more advanced than Wall's."

Erza observed the Machias man's appearance. "His body looks almost metallic like a machine... a bit like those Pacifistas." She felt a certain of tense.

"Unlike that copycat abomination Wall, my power is superior to his," Primo spoke coldly.

Natsu gritted his teeth. "Even if Wall is a copy, that doesn't give you the right to talk down to your kind!" Primo narrowed his eyes at the fire dragon slayer. "I don't recall asking for your opinion, Salamander..."

Before a fight could escalate, a falling figure flew into the entrance and appeared above taking the Fairy Tail members and others by surprise. "Now, now, Primo, no need to be rude."

There was a flying female human-like figure with angel-like white wings. "These guys are Fairy Tail after all. They accomplished so much and were able to avenge our master."

Joan

Arche Angel

Member of the Custody Enforcement Unit

Magic: Unknown

"Is that an angel!" Droy and Jet exclaimed with a gaping mouth.

The woman had a voluptuous build with long, pure white hair that extended to her ankles. She wore a blue vest that only revealed her chest and part of her breasts and underbelly. She also wore a blue short skirt and light metal-like boots. "Sorry about Primo, he's a prideful person and has an annoying habit of pointing out people's flaws." She quickly realized that she hadn't done her introduction. "Forgive my manners, my name is Joan. I'm an Arche Angel, a descendant of the Archangels."

"In the Enforcement Unit, we're known as the Deity Trio,"

Lucy was having a hard time believing this. "So, the Ancient Ones have descendants that survived. Though, how did they get to this era?"

Anna approached the three Descendants. "To think that the last of the Ancient Ones...The Wild Ones...the Tech...and Archangel is here before me." She smiles warmly at the three. "I'm Anna Heartfilla, the granddaughter of Annabelle."

Kovu bowed his head. "Annabelle's granddaughter Anna...nice to meet you."

Primo's cold stare softened a bit and a crooked smile took shape on his face. "So, another of the Heartfilla bloodline is here, impressive."

Joan knelt in respect. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Anna Heartfilla."

"They seem to respect Anna," Erza thought.

Lily had his arms crossed having a bit hard to believe. "To think the Ancient Ones have descendants that survived for so long."

Gray thought this was too good to be true and felt something wasn't right. "If you're the new members of the Magic Council's enforcement, why didn't you join us in the war against the Alvarez Empire?"

"I can answer that..." Everyone looked at Makarov, who was sitting on the bar's counter. "I didn't tell you children this when we returned from the World of Pirates but, while we were trapped in that world. One of the Twelve Shields tried a surprise attack on Magnolia Town to weaken our morality. In other words, the Alvarez Empire tried to attack Magnolia to weaken our morality and if that happened, no doubt, there would be a lot of casualties."

"How did you find out that?" Levy asked.

"Our spy...the one you met on your mission informed us." Joan answered.

Lucy gasped quietly. "Is she talking about Sorano...well, it seems she was able to find important information."

Gray still didn't understand. "That doesn't explain why they weren't here to assist us in the war."

Mest decided to answer that. "The Twelve in charge of that surprise attack was Wall, who brought his entire army along with those flying ships led by Ajeel and his squad." Natsu, Gray, and Erza remembered the enemy's flying ships.

"Eventually, the enemies' surprise attack was stopped though the battle was brutal therefore the Deity Trio was unable to join in the war, " Mest concluded.

Jura nodded in agreement. "Yes, they wanted to join the war, but, their state was more serious than ever."

Cana had a good guess. "I presume, they had Magic Deficiency," Lisanna felt a bit sorry for the Deity Trio.

"Pretty much," Jura replied. "They were in a coma for the rest of the war, they woke up after the Acnologia's defeat."

Natsu had his arms crossed with a scowl look on his face. "Since when does the Magic Council care about us?" Primo and Kovu glared at the fire dragon slayer. "You don't trust us, huh, well, if we didn't stop that surprise attack, your guild would be reduced to a pile of broken wood."

Hearing that struck a nerve in some of the Fairy Tail wizards. Makarov hated to admit, but, there was some truth to Kovu's words.

"Yes, on top of that, you morons tried to take Alvarez Empire during the first wave and were surrounded by them then nearly got blasted from the face of the earth."

"What was that?" Natsu growled.

Primo had his arms crossed this time with a smirk. "Not surprising, since your guild is the strongest in Fiore but I guess that got to your heads and bit you in the ass."

Erza's eyes were filled with anger. "What was that?!"

Gray gritted his teeth. "Don't you jerks dare badmouth our guild!"

Juvia stood by her crush's side. "Yeah, Juvia won't stand for someone mocking Fairy Tail!"

Elfman pumped with an angry face. "We'll show you manly power!"

Kovu and Primo were ready for a fight. "Bring it on!"

"You guys!" Lucy and Wendy gasped worriedly.

Lisanna and Mirajane were worried about their friends' reactions.

Lahara thought this would happen, however, before she made a move someone stepped forward.

"Stop it, you guys!" Everyone saw Anna get between the wizards putting both her arms out. "I understand you all have differences, but, you both have one thing in common and that is you care of the people of Fiore as well as Magnolia Town." She lowered her hands smiling sweetly at them. "So, please, if we want this alliance to work, we have to set our differences aside and trust one another." Natsu, Erza, Gray, Elfman, and Juvia backed off.

Lahara chuckled a bit. "She's right, Kovu, Primo, as your captain, I will order you to show some respect to our allies. If not, you two will be answering to me, understand?" The Wild One and Machias Cyborg looked at their captain for a second and reluctantly nodded. "Yes...captain."

Joan decided to speak her piece. "If I may, we do owe Fairy Tail a favor." Hearing that surprised some of the Fairy Tail including Team Natsu. "You guys avenged our master Orc, who was one of the Magic Council members that was killed in the Tartaros attack at the headquarters."

"Master Orc..." Aquapad wondered.

"As you know, Master Orc was a member of the Magic Council. You see, the time Fairy Tail's strongest wizards went missing after Acnologia attacked Tenrou Island. Lahar and Mest went on some missions then one day they stumbled upon a secret cave chamber that had us in pods and we were in sleep mode."

"How did you guys get in these pods?" Levy asked.

Primo decided to answer that. "Sometime after our ancestor's journey through the three worlds, we were born. Our era was a peaceful one until the time of the war against dragons arrived. As you know, our ancestors joined the war but our people were no match."

"Yes, but, our parents decided to make sure we would make it to the future," Kovu added. "So, they met up with us in a hidden underground chamber, there were three pods that put us in sleep mode for centuries. Until a year later after you guys disappeared."

Anna smiled warmly at the Ancient Ones' descendants. "I see, you guys are the last of your kind. I apologize that I didn't find you guys first."

Joan smiled understandingly. "You did what you could, but, we were raised by Master Orc. He treated us like his own children. Also if it hadn't been for him, we would've never found our magic."

"Yes, our magic was a special kind, one that has been in our bloodline from generation to generation," Kovu answered.

The Fairy Tail wizards were puzzled at the details that Kovu gave which Anna noticed. "I think I know what he means." Hearing that got most of Fairy Tail to look at the former Celestial wizard. "I read in my late great grandmother's journal that the Tech, Wild Ones, Archangels, and Devil Imps have different types of magic power, however, rarely, one would be born with a special kind of magic power that was beyond our imagination."

Elfman's eyebrow raised. "That doesn't make much sense."

Mirajane had a theory. "So, you're saying that the Ancient Ones have a powerful magic power, but, there is one magic that one of their kind would get, am I right?"

Anna nodded. "Correct, however, the ones that knew my great-grandmother had different magic, and their last words on the day their race was being wiped out is that their children would gain the magic they were destined to have."

Wendy remembered something similar. "That kind reminds me of Shirahoshi, there was a legend that one mermaid would gain a power that would allow them to control the Sea Kings and Shirahoshi was the chosen one."

Makarov had a question of his own. "Mest, I'm not against working with your old pals, though, is there a reason why?"

Jura decided to answer that. "That is something that I can explain." He had a tense look on his face. "It has come to our attention that two former Spriggan Twelve have gone missing." Almost everyone in the guild gasped in shock looking at the old master.

"How did you get that information?" Usagi asked.

"Invel the Winter General was supposed to recruit Brandish and Dimaria back. For what reasons, I could imagine it couldn't be good. Either way, Invel's resources tracked the two Spriggan Twelve that were supposed to be recruited back but only to find them gone." Jura explained. "The names of the two Spriggan Twelve are Dimaria and Brandish."

Lucy gasped with wide eyes. "Brandish...is missing..." Natsu glanced at his friend's face.

"Did someone kidnap them?" Lily asked.

Carla found that hard to believe. "How can that happen, we know Dimaria and Brandish are strong wizards, their magic was overwhelmingly powerful." Wendy had to agree. "Yeah, when Cheila, Carla, and I fought her, especially with her God Soul Magic."

Lahara took out a sheet of paper. "It gets worse, according to the reports we received, we are getting the accusations of their disappearances."

As if things couldn't be any worse than they already are. "Wait, is the Alvarez Empire pointing fingers at us?"

"The one who made these accusations, Invel suspects that Fairy Tail had something to do with their disappearance." Primo summarized.

"Still, there was no evidence, so, they can't charge Fairy Tail," Joan added.

Gray and Juvia gritted their teeth. "That jerk, I knew that guy was a tricky bastard but accusing us of kidnapping, that's way out of line!"

"Juvia is angry..."

"However, due to aiding Ajeel and his grandfather Yajeel, the Alvarez Empire decided not to press charges not yet at least," Makarov informed as he recalled his time with Ajeel's grandfather including how they played cards.

Lisanna, Elfman, and Aquapad remembered how they helped Ajeel when he was injured and brought him to the Straw Hats' pirate ship. "So, Yajeel defended us..."

"Never saw that coming."

"Yajeel is so manly!"

"On top of that, Hisui promised the Alvarez Empire that we would find Dimaria and Brandish." Almost everyone was uncertain how to answer this request until Lucy stepped forward. "Master, Brandish might've been our enemy before, but, she's a good person and..." Despite how she felt toward Dimaria, especially the mean stuff she said about Natsu. "Dimaria is a good friend to Brandish too, I think we should find them."

Jura began to take something out of his pocket. "I also got a tip from the locations where Invel and his sources tracked down Brandish and Dimaria." He handed Makarov a letter.

"A letter..." The old man wondered as he opened the envelope and read what was on the paper.

Fairy Tail

We have your former enemies Diamaria and Brandish, if you want to rescue them, then come to the third gateway.

Signed M.D

"M.D...what kind of name is that?" Erza questioned.

Levy looked at the letter wearing her magic glasses. "Nothing else is on the letter, not a clue or hidden written."

Jura had one more thing to say. "We almost forgot, there will be two more wizards joining us."

"Who would that be?" Natsu asked.

"That would be us..." At the entrance, Rufus and Yukino stood there.

Lucy was delighted to see two familiar faces. "Rufus...Yukino!"

"Why are you guys here?" Lisanna asked excitedly.

Yukino giggled. "Jura contacted us and asked for anyone specializing in deciphering skills."

Levy had a good idea of what she meant. "You mean, you'll be helping us translate any ancient writing that we might come across."

Rufus tilt his hat. "Yes, and I must admit this travel to this other world shall be a memory worth remembering."

"Where are Sting and Rogue?" Gajeel asked.

"They're staying behind to do some training and others are still taking jobs," Yukino replied.

Levy had a question for Anna. "Anna, you said that we need to take a train to the third gateway, but, how can that be possible, I checked out the maps, and out of the tracks we know so far. None tracks go anywhere else that go any further."

Lucy had to agree. "Agreed, I mean, even if you guys located the gateway, how can we take the train there?"

Anna rubbed her head. "That's the weird thing, you see..." She took out a map that had the train tracks. "Here...at Clover Town."

"Hold on, that train track leads to the town where the guild masters have their meetings," Makarov said, he was a little puzzled. "But, the train track doesn't go any further."

"That is correct, however, for some reason, a new kind of railway was suddenly connected to the end of the line," Jura informed making the wizards gasp. "According to the witnesses, the train track just appeared out of nowhere."

Erza put her fingers to her chin. "I might be overthinking this, but, it seems the enemy probably created those tracks somehow and lured us to them or the location where the gateway is."

Primo chuckled a bit. "Well, it seems the S-Class wizard has a brain after all." That earned a glare from the scarlet wizard. "What was that?"

"That's enough, Primo," Lahara scolded the Machias Cyborg, who grunted.

"Regardless, Erza's theory does seem considering," Joan said.

"How long do these tracks go?" Natsu asked looking almost sick.

Kovu laughed. "Looks like Salamander is about to blow chucks!" Natsu glared after being mocked.

"To answer your question, it'll be 3 miles away," Anna answered. "According to the location on the map, it goes all to the middle of a mountain."

Carla was a little concerned about hearing this. "How big are these mountains, if they could cause rockslides then we'll be in danger."

"Not to mention the dragon slayers will be vulnerable due to motion sickness," Rufus commented tilting his hat.

"Luckily, Tom was able to insert the anti-dragon motionless sickness Lacrima, so, technically, any dragon slayer won't get motion sickness," Yukino added.

Natsu and Wendy practically jumped with joy. "Really!"

"No, more motion sickness!"

"Still, we don't know if this other world will transport or the lacrimas that'll sure prevent us from losing our lunch. So, we might want to take the seasick pills with us." Gajeel suggested.

Everyone had to admit that Gajeel made a good point. "Already ahead of you guys." Fujika approached holding a small bag. "These have the seasick pills in small medicine bottles."

Natsu was relieved to hear this. "Thank you, you're a lifesaver!" He hugged the Amazon girl out of relief which flustered the girl.

"Ahem..." Lahara cleared her throat. "Anyway, we will begin our preparations right away. So, we must get to the Magnolia Train station and take the ride to the end of the track,"

Anna nodded and clapped her hands. "You heard her, we'll pack your things, and let's head out on an adventure to another world."

"She seems excited," Lucy sweatdropped.

"Hold on!" Makarov announced getting everyone to look in his way. "We don't know much about this third world or what enemies might be waiting for us. So, I recommend that all of you work together and not draw unwanted attention. I suggest that all of you take one step at a time and gather any information carefully!"

Lahara had to agree. "He's right, this mission will require us not to share our identities with strangers."

Erza did understand that. "I would agree to that..." Everyone looked at Erza this time. "Though, like the master said, we don't know much about this third world. If we come across some people in that world that might be able to help us, we'll have to take it."

Usagi had his word to say. "Agreed, at a time like this, we'll need all the help we can get just like how our allied guilds assisted us in the war."

Makarov knew his two children made a valid point. "Understood."

A short time later, everyone arrived at the Magnolia Train Station.

Team Natsu and the Custody Enforcement Unit got in different seats. Gray and Juvia sat next to each other. The three dragon slayers got in their seats and sat with their Exceeds. Anna sat next to Lucy and across was Joan and Kovu. Primo and Lahar sat by each other with Cana and Usagi across from them. Elfman sat next to Mirajane across was Aquapad and Lisanna. Levy and Erza sat across from Gajeel. Yukino sat next to Rufus.

"All aboard!" The conductor announced. Standing next to him revealed to be Tom. Aquapad was excited to see him. "Tom, are you the driver of the train?"

Tom laughed excitedly. "Of course, it's been so long since I was so fired up."

The train blew its whistle. The train started to move along the railroad tracks. Natsu and Wendy were relaxed for the first time on a train. "So, amazing!"

"This is what riding on a train feels like!"

Gajeel was looking at the window with his hand under his chin. "I hate to admit it, but seeing everything passing by is cool."

Levy giggled. "Guess when you guys are busy laying down holding it's hard to enjoy the sightseeing," Gajeel grunted without looking at the Solid Script mage.

Lily chuckled a bit. "It's all thanks to Blue Pegasus and Tom, who offered to insert the Lacrima."

Anna was smiling while looking out the window. "This is quite the ride."

Lucy giggled. "Yeah, especially when you ride the train with friends."

Primo and Kovu were resting their eyes.

Yukino felt excited. "I never rode on the train before."

Rufus chuckled while tilting his hat down. "Indeed, plus, Tom is making a Sea Train to connect Alvarez. I can hardly wait to see it."

"It took about ten years for Tom to make the first sea train, however, with the equipment and materials he had gotten from nearby shops and blueprints for the other train. He might be able to build it completely in 5 years...maybe." Aquapad theorized.

"What do you mean by "maybe"," Rufus asked a little disappointed.

"He means that the track will be tested for riding on especially in the sea and on of that, he'll decide where stations should be at for stops. So basically, it might still take ten years to build it," Lisanna added.

A few of the others knew that Animal Soul Wizard did make a good point.

Usagi was smiling while looking out the window. "Oden would have loved to ride this train."

"Too bad Ace and the others couldn't join us," Juvia said a little down.

"Don't worry, they'll be on jobs and training each other until then," Gray said conformably.

Cana was a little bored. "Man, I could use a drink."

Joan was quiet. Lahara noticed. "What's up Joan, you look quiet." The angel girl lifts her head looking at her captain. "Oh, just feeling a bit awkward after the stares I got from the citizens."

Anna giggled. "It's isn't every day people get to see a live angel." Joan giggled awkwardly. "No kidding."

Mest was having his thoughts. "Hmm...I wonder what enemies kidnapped Brandish and Dimaria." As much as he was cautious last time, he had to make sure not to make the same mistake. "How powerful can these enemies be to capture two former Spriggan Twelve."

One hour passes

The train was at the mountain areas.

The track went through a big space and the cliffsides were so high. One small tremor could cause a landslide. Each of the wizards was a bit on edge.

"Those mountains are so big." Lucy whimpered nervously.

"Gee, do you always whimper like that?" Primo taunted with a smirk.

"What was that?" Lucy asked instantly offended.

"Enough, not here," Anna said.

Natsu scoffed. "Do we have to work with these jerks?"

"Please, if we didn't stop that surprise attack, your guild and Magnolia would be reduced to a pile of bricks," Kovu remarked. "Then again, all of your Fairy Tail are practically cocky-headed."

Gray clenched his fists. "Are you done yet, you jungle freak?"

"What did you say, ice stripper?"

"Stand down you two!" Lahara scolded.

"That's right, we're in this together, so try to get along," Anna added almost seriously.

Mest sighed as he knew this would happen. "I know the Magic Council and Fairy Tail didn't always have the same beliefs, but, we have to work together." After what he did during the negotiation with one of the Spriggan Twelve August, he needed to be more open-minded.

"Attention, passengers! We'll surely be arriving at the station in about 25 minutes! Be seated until then."

Growl

Natsu held his stomach. "Man, I'm so hungry."

Soon another growl was heard from the stomach and it was Kovu's this time. "Damn, I'm getting hungry now."

Lucy and Joan sighed. "Geez, can you two stop thinking about your stomachs for once." They said in sync.

Gray narrowed his eyes. "Guess we have something in common besides wanting to protect our home." Anna giggled quietly, though, nobody noticed or heard.

Elfman had his thoughts. "Looks like we're getting close to the location of the train station."

"Though, where is the gateway, probably not by the station," Mirajane presumed.

Anna overheard and decided to tell a little more details. "You're right, the gateway isn't near the station. However, I'll explain more once we depart on the station."

Deciding to take the Heartfilla ancestor's words, they kept quiet and enjoyed the rest of the ride.

Soon the train arrived at the station, which was an old building, likely falling apart, the rooftop had a few holes and broken glass windows.

"We arrived at the mountain train station!" The conductor announced. "Please, gather your luggage and depart."

Each wizard gathered up their stuff and once they were off, two big wagons were waiting with two horses.

"Not that," Gajeel turning away hiding his sickly expression.

"A vehicle..." Natsu muttered on the verge of barking.

"Oh no..." Wendy covered her mouth.

"Forget already," Kovu groaned.

"He's right, here," Levy took out three small sea sick pills for the three dragon slayers which they swallowed quickly.

Once everything was packed on the wagons, Anna decided to explain the next step and took out a map. "Listen up, according to this map. The gateway to the third world somewhere ahead in the dark forest."

"The dark forest?" Levy asked nervously.

"Yes, additionally, the map reads that a dirt path goes through the dark forest." Anna continued as she pointed a path through the forest. "Which you can see there, however, I was told that most of the forest has different monsters ones that are powerful."

"Sounds scary," Lucy shivered cupping her face with her hands.

Kovu didn't seem phased. "Not a problem, we'll just kick whatever beast tries to jump on us."

Natsu smirked. "I hate to say it, but, I agree with jungle man over here."

Cana was drinking a bottle. "Gulp...gulp...so, what will we do after going through the dark forest?"

"There will be two large mountains, though, one will be half gone, but, the one that isn't blown in half will have the cave entrance that'll surely lead down. In other words, we go into a cave entrance, and down is the underground colosseum where the gateway is." Anna concluded.

"Should we be worried about traps or anything?" Elfman asked.

"Perhaps, but, we'll know once we get there," Anna folded the map. "Alright, we know what to do, let's hit the road."

Lucy giggled at her ancestor's comment.

A short time later, they all gathered their luggage and then got in the wagons. Anna and Lahara sat in the driver's seat while the others rode on the wagons.

They soon went through the dark forest, the large branches covered the entire area, leaving some light but not too much. "Man, it feels like nightfall is already here," Natsu said.

"Aye sir," Happy quietly said a little nervous.

"So far, no enemies coming in." Joan was sitting on the wagon's sheet sensing for any incoming enemies.

"Same here, not picking up any enemies," Gajeel reported listening carefully through the forest.

They verge deeper into the forest. Things were becoming quiet. No animals or insects were making any sounds not even the chirping of birds. "Guys, did it become so quiet?" Natsu asked looking a bit unnerved.

Wendy felt utterly nervous. "He's right, it's like the forest went deaf or something."

Carla felt a shiver go through her spine. "This can't be good."

"It gets worse, the sun is starting to set." Lisanna pointed at the sun setting down.

Aquapad took hold of Lisanna's hand gently. "It's fine." The white-haired girl smiled sweetly at her Fishman boyfriend. "Thanks, Aquapad."

"Get a room you two," Gray muttered.

Juvia hugged Gray's arm. "Gray, my darling, protect me!"

Erza had a bad feeling all of a sudden. "Be on your guard." Kovu was asleep until his eyes opened abruptly like an animal on high alert. "We got company!"

All were alarmed by the jungle man's awareness. "That ain't funny!" Natsu retorted.

Kovu ignored the fire dragon slayer's outburst and looked to the right. "Something is coming." He was right, a giant long lizard-like creature was running through the trees knocking each one in its path. Usagi's ears caught the sound. "Uh oh... an unknown enemy is approaching."

Wendy, Natsu, and Gajeel faintly heard the footsteps of the creature. "Guys, an enemy is approaching!"

"Anna, Lahara, stop the wagons!" The two women did so and each wizard got out of the wagons while the two horses began to whine in fear. "Wendy, Lucy, Carla, keep the horses steady while we fight the enemy!" Anna commanded.

A pile of trees was knocked over revealing a giant iguana. The gigantic reptile looked at the humans and their friends.

Natsu gritted his teeth as flames appeared around his fists. "We don't have time for this!" For once, Gray had to agree. "For once, I agree." The ice mage pumped his arms. "Shave!" He reappeared on the giant iguana's back and slammed his hands on the creature's back. "We don't have time for the likes of you!" In an instant, the lizard's body was completely frozen. "Good job! Let me handle this! Natsu charged toward the lizard. "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" He threw his fiery fist at the creature's chest burning the frozen reptile that swallowed it in intense flames.

The monster was nothing but a pile of ashes. "That's done."

"Geez, if this oversized was going to be easy, then it should've brought some friends at least."

Bonk Bonk

"Don't jinx us you dope!" Lucy barked dopeslapping the two idiots.

Primo found it a bit amusing. "Such reckless morons."

Erza had thoughts of this. "I wonder where this lizard was here for. It doesn't make sense if it wasn't that much of a threat." An additional thought came to her mind. "Unless, if anyone wasn't a wizard, but just an ordinary person, that lizard could've gotten that person."

The wizards continued on the dirt path and after a few hours, they arrived at the two mountains, one had a top and the other was missing one. Natsu gazed at the two mountains carefully and something clicked in his mind. "Hold on...this place..."

"Natsu?" Happy asked noticing his best friend's odd behavior.

"It's weird, I remember this place, I was here training with Igneel, he was the one that destroyed that mountain top, half of it anyway." Natsu summarized.

"So, that mountain's missing top was your dad's doing?" Kovu guessed.

Natsu smirked. "Yeah, pretty much." He just laughed it off like it was no big deal at least at first. "Though I was concerned that he destroyed without a second thought, he said "Sometimes it's okay to go overboard"."

Lucy giggled.

Wendy smiled. Carla just sweatdropped.

Usagi chuckled a bit. "Like father like son."

Rufus shared the same reaction. "Sting and Rogue's dragons probably felt the same way."

"Guys over there!" Levy pointed to a large cave entrance. "That must be the entrance."

"Alright, listen up, the horses will have to stay here, though, the conductor will ensure their safety until then," Lahara said. "So, take what you need and we'll enter the cave."

The gang took the supplies such as first aid kits, clothes, snacks, water, some portable and regular communication Lacrima, and the potions used for recharging their magic.

Anna lit a lantern and carried it leading the groups into the cave. They went through a huge tunnel. "Dang it's pitch black in here," Lucy said.

"Even with this lantern, it's only giving a little light," Anna added. "So, be careful and watch your step."

"Agreed, these tunnels might have traps," Erza said cautiously looking around for anything suspicious.

Elfman's eyes motioned to both sides of the cave. "This place is drive bats batty...so unmanly."

"That doesn't make much sense, except for the batty part," Mirajane sweat dropped.

Juvia was hugging Gray's arm. "Gray my love, protect me from the dark!"

"Hey, stop!" Gray yelled comically.

They soon came to a huge open area, though the back was dark. "Looks like we got more room to walk through."

Natsu was a little impatient. "Ugh, this is boring, let's just run to the underground coliseum!" He quickly ran toward the darkness.

"Natsu, don't be stupid!" Lucy cried worriedly.

Kovu saw something that made him gasp and quickly leaped in the air and grabbed the fire dragon slayer's scarf merely choking the guy. Natsu coughed a bit due to his neck being pulled by the scarf. After coughing a few times. "Damn, what the hell was that for?" He barked still slightly coughing.

All the Wild One did was point down toward the pitch blackness and Natsu looked closely as Anna came close lightening a little enough for Natsu to see that he almost went over a cliff. "Whoa, that's so high up!"

"Idiot, you could've fallen in that!" Gray lectured.

Primo just scoffed. "Not surprising considering he would," Natsu growled. "What was that, jerk?"

"Not the time idiots!" Lucy scolded the two bickering wizards.

Erza was impressed that Kovu was able to see the bottomless pit. "How did you see that bottomless pit?" Kovu chuckled. "It's one of my abilities, my magic has given me unique abilities. Such as nocturnal eye vision. Meaning I can see well in the dark like an animal that walks during the night."

"Impressive, night vision that animals have," Anna summarized.

Gajeel did his trademark laugh. "Well, I have to admit that you were able to see that."

"Either way, that looks so high, I can't see the bottom," Lily looked over the cliff and saw nothing but blackness. "So, we must be careful."

"Over here!" Joan found a wooden bridge. "It's a bridge, though, it looks old, but, I don't see any other way to get there."

Lahara was concerned about that. "Indeed, that bridge could collapse if we walk across together."

"True, but, it shows that the other side shouldn't be far away," Carla guessed. "So, perhaps, we should carry our partners across to see how far the other side is."

Wendy liked that idea. "Yeah, Natsu can use his flames to light the other side so we can see how far we have to go." The others agreed on this.

The three dragon slayers were carried across as Natsu lit his flames given more light. "Here is the other side!" The three landed on the other which had a large cliffside. "There's another tunnel, which seems to have a stone-like stairway," Gajeel said peeking down the stairway in the tunnel. "Looks like it goes the way down."

"We're getting close to the underground coliseum," Anna stated. "So, this will be it, there will surely be the third gateway. Once we're there, we'll search for it, though, it won't be easy to find."

Natsu chuckled with a bright smile. "Who cares, we'll find it, and we'll rescue our friends. No matter what enemies we'll be facing in this other world, we'll kick their butts to next week in Fairy Tail style." The other Fairy Tail wizards smiled. Lahar and the others didn't say a thing but just stayed silent.

The others went across the bridge carefully and made it to the other side. Then they walked down the stairway which seemed to go around though it was leading the way down. It almost seemed to last forever until they arrived at the last set of stairs. There was the underground city and Primo felt a certain feeling that he felt like at home. "Such a strange feeling." He thought.

Team Natsu and the Custody Enforcement Unit arrived at the underground city that once belonged to the Ancient Ones the Tech. Now, they had to search for the third gateway in the ancient ruined city. Will they find it, find out next time. What kind of magic will Descendants of the Ancient Ones use, that'll come in due time. Primo is based on Yu-gi-oh 5d's Primo, though, his powers will be different. Those that watched Yu-gi-oh 5d's know of Primo's character. Despite his rude and disrespectfulness, he'll have a soft spot for Anna. Don't hate me for my choice any bad reviews won't be tolerated. As for a Descendant of the Devil Imps, that'll be revealed sometime later in the story.

End of chapter.
