Before this story begins, I would like to say that this story takes place during the events of Pokémon Battle Frontier and is based off Sonic 06. Anyways, enjoy the first chapter of this story.
Episode 1: The Ruined World of the Future
Unknown city, sometime in the far future. There are ruins of buildings everywhere. A Pokémon Trainer named Diego is flying around the city slowly on his Altaria, looking for any flames. He has light skin, blonde hair, wears a yellow shirt with white sleeves and blue jeans. The ground below has become nothing but a sea of lava, with the occasional rumble of thunder and flash of lightning from the storm clouds covering the sky.
Diego: (Voice over narration) This world was devastated before I was born. A harsh, bleak place, where we live in eternal darkness. Life is a struggle, and people live without hope. How did this happen? No one will answer me directly. But they always point... to the flames. (A tornado of flames swirl up before Diego and his Altaria. Altaria uses Haze to clear the flames in front of them and they die away.) These flames. They burn away at my world destroying everything in their path. They come from a eternal life form we cannot truly defeat. The Flames of Disaster known as Azrael.
???: Diego!
A girl named Natalie (Not the one from the Season 6 episode a Lotad Lowdown, she's an OC.) appears on her Skarmory. She has dark skin, a white bandana, a purple top and long blue pants.
Diego: Natalie, what's wrong?
Natalie (OC): He's appeared again!
Looking in the direction Natalie pointed in with an angry scowl, Diego flies away on his Altaria as Natalie jumps quickly on her Skarmory and it flies off to follow them.

Diego and Natalie are on their flying type Pokémon, which attacks the fiery creatures.
Diego: These are not Pokémon. Do they have something to do with that monster?
Natalie (OC): I think so. We've faced them before!
Diego: We need to stop this and put and end to this! Altaria, use Dragon Pulse!
Altaria uses Dragon Pulse and the creatures were defeated. They then continued to make their way through the ruined city full of flames and destroyed buildings and skyscrapers.
Natalie (OC): Look!
Diego: That tornado! (They then made their way to the knocked over building.) That building's knocked over! (Altaria noticed the pipe and called out to its trainer.) My Altaria can wipe them out if we use that pipe right.
Natalie (OC): Okay. Go for it!
Altaria uses Dragon Pulse on the pipe and it takes down all the creature. Diego and Natalie then got on their flying type Pokémon and made it to the next part. Both Pokémon use Dragon Pulse and Ice Wind to attack the creatures. They then start to make their way upwards and when they got to the next part, more creatures popped up. Diego's Altaria attacked the rest of the creatures and they made it to the next part of the city.

Diego and Natalie made it to the next part.
Natalie (OC): I'll take the lead from here.
Diego: Okay. Go for it.
Natalie leads them to the section and use Skarmory uses Icy Wind on the fiery creatures. Both trainers and their Pokémon fight through the fiery creatures with Natalie still taking the lead.
Natalie (OC): Get out of our way, you creeps! This is nowhere near over!
Skarmory uses Icy Wind on them again and they were defeated and they moved on. As both trainers and their Pokémon continued to fight their way through the ruined city, they battle and defeated the final set of fire creatures, which are not Pokémon, but minions of Azreal, before making it to the final part of the city.

Diego and Natalie made it to the final part of the city.
Diego: I'll go on ahead.
Natalie (OC): Okay. Go for it. (Both trainers and their Pokémon began to make their way through city. More fire creatures began to attack them, but they fought back and fight past them. Altaria and Skarmory use their moves to attack the creatures before moving on.) This whole area is destroyed.
Diego: Yeah. Natalie, watch out for things flying out of the tornado.
Natalie (OC): Okay Diego!
Both trainers and their Pokémon fight through the city against the army of fire creatures. They avoid the things flying out of the tornado and finally managed to make it to where Azrael is.

Diego and Natalie have gone through the ruined city and are running right up to confront Azrael, who emerges as a fiery golem monster ready to attack with a roar. They are stunned but look up.
Diego: Come on, you monster!
Azrael moves on and roars in the flames.
(Play Boss: Iblis from Sonic 06 for the rest of this section.)
Diego: Azrael! Today... It will be finished!
They both call out their Pokémon.
Natalie: Skarmory, use Ice Wind on Azrael!
Skarmory uses Ice Wind on Azrael and that attack hits him. Azreal then picks up an entire building and begins to slam it on them.
Diego: Watch out! (They dodge and Azrael roars.) Altaria, use Ice Beam!
Altaria uses Ice Beam on Azreal and attacks it. Azrael begins to breath fire on both Pokémon.
Natalie (OC): No!
Diego: This can't be over! Not like this!
Azrael starts attacking them all for the next 30 seconds.
Natalie (OC): This monster won't give up!
Diego: There has to be some way to stop it!
Natalie (OC): Diego, try telling Altaria to use Rain Dance.
Diego: Okay! Altaria, use Rain Dance!
Altaria uses Rain Dance and it begins to rain on Azrael, and it roars as it begins raining on it. The fire golem was getting weakened and then grabs another building and is about to slam it on them.
Natalie: Watch out for that building!
They all dodged it. Azrael was getting weakened due to Altaria's rain dance move being used on it.
Diego: Altaria, use Dragon Pulse!
Natalie: Skarmory, use Hyper Beam!
Both Pokémon used the moves on Azrael and they attack it. It roars as it gets attacked one last time and was defeated. It falls into the sea of lava it came out of.
A pit of molten lava is shown where Azrael once stood following his defeat by Diego.
Natalie: Looks like we stopped it for now.
Diego: But it'll just rise up from its ashes again. (Hits a brick wall with his fist in frustration.) What's the point of all this? It'll never end.
Natalie: Calm down, Diego.
Diego: Then tell me what we should do. How can we completely destroy Azrael?
Natalie is unsure what to do and closes her eyes to think. All of a sudden a dark voice is heard.
???: ...By knowing the truth, of course. (Diego looks around to see who spoke, and he and Natalie look up at a black shadow version of Gary Oak, but the top part of his hair is covering one of his eyes, on top of a ruined building.) Just as a flower comes from a seed, or a Torchic comes from an Pokémon egg, everything has an origin. You need to find the being originally responsible for this catastrophe.
Diego: Is that really the answer to our problem? (He then points at the mysterious figure.) Tell me, do you know who it is?
The mysterious figure looks at Diego with a sinister look in his eyes. Scene fades to black.
The mysterious figure leads Diego and Natalie into the database.
???: To fix this present timeline, you need to change the past.
The group looks around the database.
Diego: But, that's impossible.
???: With my help, you can, because I have the power to travel through time!
Diego: (Surprised) No way!
???: In order to change the past, you must eliminate the individual who has awakened Azrael: The Azrael Trigger.
Diego and Natalie think and ponder, then...
Diego: If I eliminate that guy, will our world be saved?
???: (Nods) The Day of Disaster... Here are my records of this event. This was when Azrael was freed and his flames were released into the world. (The mysterious figure turns on the computer, and Diego and Natalie see images of Madera, which is a town located 20 miles across water from the Kanto Region, and other things.) And you have this person to blame.
The mysterious figure takes out an orb called the time stone and shows it to Diego, who takes it and gazes upon it. A vision of Ash Ketchum, who is in his Hoenn Region outfit, and his partner Pikachu and the flames appears, and the camera makes a close-up of Ash and Pikachu staring blankly.
Diego: I see it! So, that boy with the Pikachu's the Azrael Trigger?
Natalie gets closer to Diego and stares at him and the stone.
Natalie (OC): Boy with the Pikachu...
Diego hands the time stone back to the mysterious figure.
???: I'll send us back in time to the point when the Azrael Trigger was alive.
The mysterious figure generates a sphere with his hands, places it on Diego and Natalie, and the three of them vanish. Scene fades to black.
It is a bright, sunny day in present-day Madera in the forest outside the city. A portal has opened up, and Diego jumps out of it alone as it closes. He looks around.
Diego: Where am I? (Sees that Natalie and the mysterious figure are not here.) Natalie? (Looks again) Natalie! (Finds that no one is here.) I guess we all got separated. (Looks around) This is so unbelievable. (Sees the path ahead near a tree and looks up at it.) Now I must fight for the future!
Diego throws his fist around and runs off through the forest.
(Play Soleanna Forest from Sonic 06 for this section.)
Diego: The Azrael Trigger. Where is he? First, I need to gather information. (He approaches a couple.) Excuse me. I'm looking for the Azrael Trigger. Have you seen him? He's a boy with a Pikachu.
Woman: Azrael Trigger? What are you talking about?
Man: Kid, we don't know who you're talking about. Plus, there are plenty of people with a Pikachu, so try asking someone else.
Diego: Okay. (He then spends the entire day asking people about Ash, but referring him as the Azrael Trigger. He even asked a family of 4 about him, but even they don't know about him either. After several hours of asking people, he was frustrated.) Ugh! Where is the Azrael Trigger?! (He then sees a platform across the pond.) Looks like I found the answer to where I have to go next. Come on out, Altaria! (Altaria comes out of its Pokéball and lands next to Diego.) Let's go to a different part of the forest.
He gets on his partner Pokémon and it flies him to a different part of the forest.
(Play Tropical Jungle - The Ruins from Sonic 06 for this section.)
Altaria flies Diego to a different part of the forest and it was filled with Team Rocket Grunts.
Diego: Who are those guys? Maybe they are associated with the Azrael Trigger! Altaria, use Dragon Pulse! (Altaria uses Dragon Pulse on some of the grunts.) Take that!
One of the Grunts: All Team Rocket Personnel, release your Pokémon immediately! We have a pest to deal with!
All the grunts release their Pokémon and they all began to use their moves on Altaria.
Diego: Altaria, dodge it! (Altaria dodges the moves.) Great! Now use Dragon Pulse again! (Altaria uses Dragon Pulse again and takes out several of the grunts. Diego was in determination.) Way to go!
Grunt 1: After them!
Grunt 2: They're in the air!
Grunt 1: All Grunts who have flying type Pokémon, get in the air and go after them!
All the Grunts who had flying type Pokémon and got on them and they follow Diego and Altaria.
Diego: Altaria, look out!
They fly higher and Team Rocket's flying type Pokémon use their attack moves on them, but they dodge it.
Grunt 3: Don't let him get away!
Diego: Altaria, use Dragon Pulse again! (Altaria used Dragon Pulse again and they attack the Team Rocket grunts and their Pokémon and they were send blasting off. Diego and Altaria made it to the end of the ruins.) Let's go!
They left the ruins and make their way to the castle town.
Meanwhile with Natalie, she somehow finds herself at a random beach and walks in the sand between a house and a palm tree.
Natalie (OC): So this is the past... (Sees two houses near the sand and puts her hands on her hips) I hope Diego is okay. He's pretty insecure when he's alone. (Looks around and ponders) The Azrael Trigger. Boy with a Pikachu... (Natalie bows her head down and looks up, then walks off as the camera pulls away from the hillside for a bird's-eye view.) Time to go.
(Play Wave Ocean - The Water's Edge from Sonic 06 for this section.)
Natalie releases her Skarmory and gets on it. It then starts to fly with its trainer on it.
Natalie (OC): The "Azrael Trigger"... A boy with a Pikachu... Can it be true? I need to find Diego fast! (She then made it to the opening part of the beach, avoiding Team Rocket Grunts, who didn't see her. Her Skarmory continued to fly herthrough the grunts until they see her from in the air.) Hopefully they don't notice me.
Some grunts appear behind her on their flying type Pokémon.
Grunt 1: Everyone attack!
The grunts' flying type Pokémon used their moves on Skarmory, but they dodge the moves.
Natalie (OC): Skarmory, use Icy Wind! (Skarmory used Icy Wind on the Team Rocket Grunts' Pokémon and they were send blasting off after getting hit. They then got hit in their air at the next part of the beach.) Skarmory, return! (She returns Skarmory to its Pokéball and pulls out another one.) Swampert, I choose you! (She releases her Swampert and it dives into the water and catches Natalie.) Thanks, now let's get going! Swampert begins to take her to the next part of the beach, but they are now getting chased by two Sharpedo.) Swampert, go faster! (Swampert swims faster and then got to the next part of the beach. She returns him to his Pokéball and then they made it to the boat leading to the castle town. She starts the boat and begins to drive it.) Diego, I'm coming.
She continues to drive the boat.
