Episode 11: Ritchie's Big Pursuit
Madera New City, day. A Time-Space rift appears, depositing Gary right in front of Misty.
Misty: You're back sooner than I expected. Ritchie and Sparky are still in pursuit of Lucifer. So, where's the kid? What did you find 10 years ago?
Gary: I need you to find Officer Jenny. Specifically, find out what materials the Scepter of Darkness was made from.
Misty: Sure. But you haven't answered my question yet!
Gary: I found the means to seal Lucifer.
Gary walks away with Misty right behind him. As they head to Madera Castle Town, the portal opens up, and Diego drops to the ground in front of Natalie, who approaches him and looks at him.
Diego: Natalie...
Natalie (OC): (Crossing her arms) What did you see?
Diego looks down and pauses for a second.
Diego: The Azrael Trigger... wasn't Ash Ketchum.
Natalie (OC): I see...
Crowds of people noise. Diego turns around at the commotion.
Diego: They're quite noisy.
Natalie (OC): Yes. I heard that the Princess here left for Team Rocket's base in response to their earlier threat.
Diego: (Surprised) What if their ultimate objective was to release Azrael?! (Natalie turns to him in surprise.) Natalie, we must find Ash and help him stop those three from releasing Azrael!
Natalie (OC): Okay!
They both nod at each other and walk off.
At Madera Castle Town, an Archeologist is running away from the fiery creatures, who were released by Lucifer.
Archeologist: Someone help me!
They were about to attack her until...
Gary: Blastoise, use Hydro Pump!
Misty: You too Politoed!
Both Pokémon used Hydro Pump on the fire creatures and defeated them all. Gary and Misty approached the Archeologist.
Gary: Are you okay?
Archeologist: Yeah. I'm okay. Thanks for saving me.
Misty: You're welcome. Anyways, what's your name?
Archeologist: I'm Adrianna. I'm an Archaeologist researching Madera's ruins.
Gary: Nice to meet you. Anyways, how did they find you?
Adrianna: When I was researching the ruins, they suddenly attacked me... I'm so glad you came. I was researching the Scepter of Darkness, a royal treasure recorded in ancient Madaran text. I have a feeling that it's somewhere around this Castle Town... but that's all I've been able to find. This is what it says in the ancient texts: "When black flame lights the Candle of Darkness and priest's prayers are answered, the dark seal will be no more, and so shall emerge the power." Candles are everywhere, you know, but I have no idea where to find the "candle of darkness"? And the "priest's prayers"... What is that? Plus, what's the "black flame"? That's not normal... Maybe a special light? Speaking of the "black flame"... Can't your Pokémon generate light?
Gary: Yeah. I know what you're talking about. Come on, Misty.
Gary and Misty left.

Meanwhile with Max, he and Munchlax are currently walking around the castle town.
Max: I can't believe they actually threatened a town like this. (Munchlax points at the Princess' Lady-in-Waiting approaching them.) Hey Miss. What's going on?
Amelia's Lady-in-Waiting: This is terrible! Princess Amelia went to see Team Rocket by herself. Max, please help her!
Max: Okay. I'll see what I can do. Come on, Munchlax!
Munchlax nods and they ran off.
Back with Gary and Misty, they approached the candles of darkness.
Gary: Come on out, Arcanine! (Arcanine was released from its Pokéball.) Arcanine, I need you to use Fire Blast to light up the candles surrounding this fountain. Think you can do that? (Arcanine nods and uses fire blast to light up the candles, and they are all lit up. The Scepter of Darkness then appeared.) Perfect! Now I can stop Lucifer!
Officer Jenny approached them.
Officer Jenny: Gary, Ritchie is currently in pursuit of Lucifer.
Gary: Oh no. What if he tries to kill Ritchie?!
Officer Jenny: Don't let it happen! Head to the beach immediately!
Misty: What about you?
Officer Jenny: I'll try to calm the people here down. Now go find Ritchie!
Gary: Okay! Come on Misty!
They left to head to the beach, and back with Max and Munchlax...
Max: Okay. Let's go find that battleship.
The Princess' lady-in-waiting gets in the boat.
Amelia's Lady-in-Waiting: I'll take you there.
Max: Okay. Let's...
May: Hold it! (She gets in the boat.) You are too young to be going off alone! I'll tag along!
Max: Okay. Take us to the beach.
Amelia's Lady-in-Waiting: Okay! Let's go!
She begins to drive the boat to the beach.
(Play Wave Ocean - The Inlet from Sonic 06 for this section)
Gary's Fearow is currently flying him and Misty really fast through the beach.
Gary: Lucifer... What could he...
Fearow continues to fly him through the beach and uses its powerful moves to attack the fire creatures. He then continues to make his way through the sky to continue defeating the fire and purple creatures. After that, they made it to the other side of the beach.
Misty: Okay. Let's provide backup for Ritchie!
Gary: Yeah!

Meanwhile with Ritchie, he was currently battling the fire creatures.
Ritchie: Sparky, use Thunderbolt on those creatures! (Sparky thunderbolts the fire and purple creatures and continues to make his way through the beach on his Butterfree called Happy.) Sparky, more red and purple fire creatures at 5 o'clock! (Sparky uses thunderbolts on the creatures and they were all defeated. He then continues to get close to Lucifer.) Where are you, Lucifer?! Show yourself!
Lucifer: Hahaha! Welcome, Ritchie. It won't take much for me to deal with you.
As Ritchie and Sparky continued to chase after Lucifer,Gary and Misty start to find Ritchie and provide backup for him.
Gary: Okay, we'll find Ritchie soon. Hang in there...
A bunch of fire and purple creatures were attacking beach goers left and right. Gary and Misty came to the rescue us tostop them.
Misty: Staryu, use Water Gun!
Staryu uses Water Gun on the creatures.
Gary: Blastoise, use Hydro Pump!
Blastoise uses Hydro Pump on the creatures. After saving all of the beach goers, they got on Fearow and it flies them through the beach and when they spotted the creature, they landed, released their Pokémon and they fight and defeated them each time. When Gary's Fearow approached them, they managed to fly to Ritchie's currently location.
At a different part of the beach, Sparky was Thunderbolting Lucifer several times with limited success.
Lucifer: This only proves you were created to stop Gary, the grandson of Professor Oak. Don't tell me you didn't know. You may have been raised by your own humanity, but what you did to Gary in the future, that was your...
Sparky begins to thunderbolt Lucifer really hard and then after taking all shots, he disappears in a puff of smoke laughing. Gary and Misty arrive on the scene.
Misty: What just happened?
Ritchie: Gary. (He turns around and faces Gary.) The one that defeats and seals you in the future... is me.
The scene shifts as Ritchie explains his story.
Misty: It's... It's so unfair! Gary's always here to defend the world, even if he was a bit of a jerk to Ash when I first met him! Despite that!
Ritchie: Eventually, when something or someone is seen as too powerful... It is seen as a threat, and then the world becomes its enemy.
Gary walks away.
Misty: Gary... Even if you believe everyone in the world will be against you. Know that some people will always remain by your side, including Ash, Brock, Professor Oak and even myself. Remember that.
He stops walking.
Gary: I will.
He resumes walking.
Meanwhile on Team Rocket's battleship, the Trio traps Amelia inside the ship and she is seen sitting on a chair. Wobbuffet and Mime Jr are taking over the ship's controls.
Jessie: You've wasted so much of our time. If you had cooperated with us earlier, we wouldn't have to do this.
Princess Amelia: What are you three trying to do? Why do you wish to revive the Flames of Disaster?
James: Did your parents ever disclose to you anything about Solaris? Solaris's secrets are in his eternal flames. His power... can change time, and even manipulate the fabric of time itself. We wish to obtain this power and dominate everything in this world. From the past all the way to the future!
Princess Amelia: You wish... to rule over... Time?
Meowth: Yes. Truly. And the secret... It remains dormant in you, Princess.
Jessie proceeds to the ship's interface and begins inputting commands.
Jessie The Princess of Madera and the Time Stones... Once we have everything, the fate of the world will change. And one of the beautiful stones is just ahead.
Battleship Mother Computer: Time Stone located.
Jessie: Finally... Now, let's go collect that Time Stone!
James and Meowth: Yeah!
Wobbuffet: Wobbuffet!
Mime Jr: Mime Mime Mime!
(Play Wave Ocean - The Water's Edge from Sonic 06 again for this section)
Max: Amelia's on that battleship! Wait up! We're coming!
They got off the boat and a bunch of grunts and their Pokémon block their path.
May: I'll handle this! Come on out, Combusken! (Combusken was released from its Pokéball.) Combusken, use Fire Spin!
Combusken uses Fire Spin and defeats them all.
Max: Good job. Now let's keep going!
A Lapras approaches them.
May: Let's get on the Lapras.
Max: Right. (They got on the Lapras and it takes them to through the beach. They then noticed the battleship.) I see the ship! Can you use your Pokémon to fly us up there?
May: I don't think Beautifly is big enough for anyone to climb on, so no.
Max: Oh good grief...
2 Sharpedos were following them and Munchlax noticed them.
May: We gotta keep going!
Max: Um, May?
May: What is it?
Max: There are two Sharpedos following us.
May: What?!
Max: Munchlax, try using Metronome to get them away from us!
Munchlax begins using Metronome and the move was Thunder, it attacked the two Sharpedos and in the process, shocked the siblings, the Lapras and Munchlax. After that, they are now on shore and after Lapras left, they noticed the battleship gone.
May: Just great! We spotted it and now it's gone! Damn it!
Max: I just hope the Princess is okay. I really don't want to imagine all the horrible things Team Rocket's doing to her.
May: Don't worry. Ash will save her. Let's just head back to town.
Max: Okay. Come on, Munchlax.
Munchlax follows the siblings back to the boat.

Ash and Brock approached May and Max.
Ash: Hey Guys. Did you find the ship?
Max: Yeah, but we lost it.
Ash: We seriously need to find their ship. We can't let them unlock the secrets to the flames of disaster!
Brock: But where could they be?
Max: I know. Team Rocket will probably go to the ancient castle. Let's get there first and save Amelia!
May: Okay.
They then noticed a Bishop approach them.
Ash: Hey. Do you know the way to the old castle of Madera?
Bishop: The way to the old castle of Madera? It's been a while since anyone has asked me that. The old castle is a holy place, and only those of the royal family may enter.
Max: Royal family?
Bishop: That's right. The entrance is blocked by a special seal, which tests anyone who tries to enter. If you want to enter the old castle, you must overcome three trials.
Ash: I see.
Bishop: These are trials of life and death. Are you sure you want to face them?
Max: What do you guys think?
Brock: Those trials are the only way we can save the Princess.
May: Yeah, but he did say that these are trials of life and death, so... Ash, since you're the one saving the Princess, do you think it's a good idea to face those trials?
Ash: You know what? Sure. I'll face them.
May: I want you to think carefully about this. These are trials of life and death like he said.
Ash: I know, but it's the only way to get to the old castle. Don't worry. I'll be okay.
Max: Okay then. Tell that dude over there you're ready to face them.
Ash: Okay. Mr. Bishop, I'm ready to take on the trials!
Bishop: Very well. I will take you to the trials. Follow me to the gate to the forest.
Ash: Okay. Come on, Guys.
The Quad, along with Pikachu and Munchlax begin to follow the Bishop to the gate to Madera forest.
