A/N: This chapter will be suddenly shorter than chapter 8 and 10. I want to reserve the fun for chapter 10 so yeah...=))

I'm to lazy to disclaim Naruto so if you want to see my disclaimer or something plz go back to chapter 8.

"Wow, you look better today, Kurotsuchi. You don't look weird any more!" Naime happily told her best friend a few days later. "You've got over it, it seems, and I'm real glad."

"Yes, you're right, Naime. And thank you also, I'm grateful I've the most supportive friend in the world." Kurotsuchi hugged her warmly, "By the way, fancy training with me a little bit?"

The brown-haired grinned. "Of course, you always make good suggestions."

"Sure," She shrugged her shoulders, "I'm nothing like a boring person like Kaoto."

The other girl rolled her eyes as they began to walk to the training ground, "Noooo, it's not like that. When will you become less stubborn and take a better view of him, Kurotsuchi? I mean he is a bit boring but not that boring. Yeah, anyway, it seems that you've taken care of your appearance more: you have bothered to brush your hair and wash your face, and your clothes have less wrinkles" She winked at her playfully, "who's the new lucky guy, huh?"

The black-haired chuckled, "Well, his name is 'Evil Grandpa' and he told me I look like homeless people. I simply had to change so that he stopped complaining."

"Haha, humour must be running in your family."

"Nah my dad, with his extreme blandness, has effectively drilled me in knowing what to do when subjected to situations of extreme ennui such as the day I go and eat dango with you and your lover. Oh and talking of that day, moments of levity meant a lot to me, you know. Imagining your mouth full of dango…"

"Hey, that was not levity. That was disrespect!"

"Whatever you think, Naime." The girl ended their conversation as they had reached their destination. "I think we should start now."

x-

"Senpaii, I can't wait to carry out this mission! And you look so cool when you make your clay bird suddenly bigger!"

"Of course, I always do. But you should shut up and focus more on what we're doing." He smirked as they moved through the forest, "We're going to let them know what art is."

"But if people die even before they know what art is, then how could you let them know?"

"You seem very much ready to die, don't you, hmm?"

x-

"Aeko, what do you think about Kaoto?"

"He's a bland and boring weirdo."

"See, Naime? Everybody thinks so."

"Noo, Kurotsuchi, I think he's funny!"

"I think you're funny thinking he's funny."

"Yeah, she's right." The red-haired girl Aeko nodded, "I don't know how you met such a boy and even fell in love with him." Naime whined, "Noo, why are you guys criticising my boyfriend during our sleepover in my house? I thought our conversation would be about something more positive, like today's weather."

"So your thoughts have turned out to be wrong." Kurotsuchi glared at her light-heartedly "Because you girl has never forgotten your meet-ups with us, yeah before you met him. You remember last Sunday, huh?"

"I'm sorry. It's because I was absent-minded, yeah not because Kaoto's presence messed with everything, no I mean-"

"Okay, yeah, it has been a beautiful day. Oh but I've almost forgotten this: I saw a very nice shop selling taiyaki which has just opened recently on my way back home!" Aeko grinned, "We shall visit there tomorrow!"

"Yes, Aeko, and forget Kaoto or you will no longer be considered our friends." The black-haired teased her friend "Yes, forget Kaoto. You deserve better guys." Aeko stroke Naime's hair, "And don't forget tomorrow's meetup or we'll no longer be friends."

"Yes, yes, okay sorry." The brown-haired smiled. "But you all have to agree that my current lover is absolutely better than Kurotsuchi's former crush."

'Shit.'

"What? This brat has something called 'former crush'?"

"Yes."

"Naime! It's not time to mention that! We're talking about taiya-"

"Deidara?"

"Yes! You bet, Aeko! Kurotsuchi had a crush on him when he was fourteen or fifth-"

"What the hell? Hey it's not time! And why do you immediately think of no other boy but that damn missing-nin?" Kurotsuchi hastily defended herself, 'Shit. I shouldn't have told her this when she tried to soothe me on my miserable birthday!'

"I knew it, haha. At first I thought you guys were secret lovers because your grandfather looked strict. Like looking at Kurotsuchi and Deidara, weren't they obviously secret lovers – secret lovers in an obvious way? It turned out that it was unrequited love?"

"No, Aeko, who knew if he had a crush on her, too?"

"Yeah yeah yeah, true enough. They both looked like morons who-"

"No, if so, he wouldn't have stolen the kinjutsu and fled so irresponsibly." She dismissed and tried to ignore Naime's horrible idea, "I mean I do think it's unrequited." The brown-haired patted her on the shoulder. "Sometimes, I think it's just because he only loved you, not the whole village. And he loved explosions more so-"

"So that means I was not enough to him." She rolled her eyes, "Not enough for him to change and not enough to make him a better person, at least than a missing-nin. Like even if he did love me it was surely a somewhat puny, ridiculous love that he forgot the instant he got out of this village. Not much difference from an unrequited love. Like my love for Naime, yeah look, she forsakes me to date with Kaoto and went on forgetting our get-togethers no matter how much I love her!"

"Don't be sad, you don't need to be enough for anyone," the red-haired reached her arm out to pull her friend's cheeks – Naime was lying in between her and Kurotsuchi, "especially ones like that asshole. And yeah my love for Naime is unrequited just like you, how sad."

"Hey girls?"

"I'm not sad about such trivials but yeah anyway thanks Aeko – you understand how I feel, if you're born a boy you'd now be my crush."

"No, I must be your lover, haha. Your love wouldn't be unrequited like that for the blond asshole."

"Nooo, now he's a thing of the past." She wanted to drop this subject. Immediately. "We should focus on more important stuff and forget him, yeah, as Naime should do with Kaoto. Now let's talk about something else."

"Why is it Kaoto again, huh? Wait, what about Aeko? Do you have any special kind of relationship?"

The red-haired smirked, "My lover or crush is non-existent. Like Kaoto's sense of humour." "What? Why is everything about Kaoto again?"

Aeko grinned, "Kaoto is comparable with all bad things in the world. And it's not about Kaoto here, it's about my relationships but Kaoto's singular lack of humour could serve as a powerful example and thing to compare…"

"You guys have no qualms about stabbing him in the back?"

"No, no, you're misunderstanding us," The black-haired explained, "I mean, what? We stab him all the time, it's not the matter in the back or in the face. And actually we only do it for fun, not because we hate him or something."

"Yes, don't worry it's just we're very happy when he loves and takes care of you pretty well, but also we want to remind you that IF YOU FORGET OUR GET-TOGETHERS ONCE AGAIN YOU WON'T BE OUR FRIENDS."

"OKAY, I promise I will not." The brown-haired pouted, "but now let's discuss your favourite flavour. If one of us comes there the most early, then I or you girls can order first and when we arrive we could have our food right away. What do you like, Kurotsuchi?"

"I like you."

"Man," She chuckled, "Be serious, please."

"I'm being serious. Why couldn't you remember I hate red beans and chocolate and always have matcha?"

"Okay, matcha. I like ones filled with custard. And Aeko?"

"I like Kurotsuchi."

"Gosh, you girls know what? The most ridiculous thing in my life is my friends."

"I mean, I like chocolate."

"Eww, chocolate looks and tastes like poop."

"You've tasted poop? How could you know that?"

"Probably because she knew Kaoto likes poo- no chocolate, too."

"Look, Aeko. Kaoto likes p-"

"NO, stop that. It's just a slip of the tongue."

"Okay so I'll have those with red bean paste. It tastes good, too."

"Nooo, Aeko you must be goading me!"

"I am, but unintentionally."

"Arghhhh"

x-

She thought her life had been back on track. Things would be normal and would never be weird again.

"By the way, I only have this one more question Kurotsuchi, do you still love Deidara?"

x-

Or at least, that was what she thought to herself.

x-

"Shit, that angry mob was damn annoying!" Deidara groaned as he and Tobi reached the nearest hotel they could find. After a mission near the border, he was injured quite seriously in the rib and unfortunately, there was no medical supply available to help prevent his wound from bleeding - Akatsuki members were to bring weapons, not bandages or antiseptics as such and even worse, there were no hospital or medical centre around – Amegakure was an impoverished country, after all. To his chagrin, the wound had opened and bled more and more profusely, which could soon become fatal if he had failed to get access to some kind of medical support. For the time being, he had to improvise with his own shirt, but it wasn't really effective and was a matter against which he and his partner were helpless.

"Senpaiii, please don't die. I don't want to let you die but there's really nothing I can do now." He sobbed, "But if you do die Deidara-senpai, I will miss you a lot and-"

"Shut up! Let me ask the receptionist, un."

The blond nearly scared the young woman to death with his deadly look. "Do you have any kind of medical supply at hand?"

"Well sorry, no." She shook her head fearfully, but as the scariness and the extreme frustration started to ooze from his every pore, the receptionist quickly stammered. "Oh, b-but there is a g-guest who a-appears to be travelling with her son and s-she is staying in our hotel along with some other people. She seemed to bring a lot of stuff. S-she may h-have…"

"OKAY, WILL YOU GIVE ME THE KEY TO HER ROOM NOW?"

"I-I'll go and ask her myself. It's room 052 i-if I remember correctly. P-Please wait or follow me, i-if you w-want…"

"BE QUICK!"

"Yes, sir!"

She almost ran when she tried to get to room 052 as fast as she could. The young woman distraughtly rang the bell and knocked on the door. "Hello, I need help! Please, help me!"

"Hey! I'm the one who needs help and it's not as if I'm going to kill you, although probably not yet, yeah. But don't talk like tha-"

x-

"Um… no. Absolutely no. I don't fall in love with nukenins."

x-

For no apparent reason, Kurotsuchi disliked August very very much.

She pushed the door swiftly so she could see her evil grandfather. "Kurotsuchi, I have a mission for you. You'll do this with Naime and Kaoto, who will soon return from their mission this morning. Our customers are too busy to meet you right now but instead they will be wai-"

"Woooow, thanks. Waiting this afternoon?"

He glared at her, "It is rude to cut off your grandfather mid-sentence! You'll escort them from our village to the Land of Sand. Our customers will be waiting at 1:00 AM at the village's border with Hidden village of Rain."

"See? You're being too old and absent-minded! It's PM, not AM. 1:00 PM!"

"1:00 AM."

"Man, it's PM."

"1:00 AM."

"1:00 PM."

"1:00 AM." He didn't change his expression.

"W-What?" She could sense that something was wrong. "1:00 AM? Are you kidding me?"

"1:00 AM. I don't joke during working hours."

The girl jumped up, placing her hands on his desk. "What has come over you grandpa? I know you're so evil but not as to demand your poor little grandchild to wake up and work after 12:30 PM." She cried "Is it genuinely necessary for them to travel in the early hours?"

"Don't question too much, our customers who are a very important businesswoman – Hikari Ayameko and her little son. They said that was a very important matter and they'd be willing to pay double the normal amount when you finished your job. According to the mom, she and her young, vulnerable son had to travel to Konohagakure at night for an urgent business trip right after-"

"Alright, this sounds like an interesting mission so I'll take it." Her eyes glittered at the mention of 'double the normal amount'. He pouted with disdain, "It's a disappointment today's youth are mercenary."

"Whatever you say, grandpa." She left his office in a second. "I'm getting myself prepared."

x-

"DOUBLE THE NORMAL AMOUNT?"

"YES, DOUBLE THE NORMAL AMOUNT!"

"I cannot believe it! I love you, Kurotsuchi!"

"I love you too, Naime! But I've yet to figure out the way I can use the money!"

They hugged and kissed each other's cheeks too passionately for Kaoto's liking. "Hey I also love you, Naime-chan!"

"Love dies but friendship never does." The black-haired glanced at him with contempt. "I love you too, Kaoto." He raised his chin pridefully. "But she's the one who informed us of this freaking desirable mission! I love her a bit more than you now, but yeah only for the time being." Naime smiled sheepishly.

"See? I won hands down!"

"Only for the time being!" He snarled.

"Do you want to complete with me as to-"

"Stop, guys." The girl shook her head. "We need to go home and prepare as soon as possible." She glared at him, "Lucky you Kaoto - Naime's right. Remember there wouldn't be the next time-"

"Are you threatening me? I'm not the underdog!"

Naime pulled her lover back, kissed him briefly and tried to pull him in a different direction. "Bye Kurotsuchi, we'll see you tomorrow."

Kurotsuchi chuckled, "Yeah, tomorrow at two in the morning. And thank you for loving me more than him."

"Hey!"

x-

12:30.

Her alarm clock went off. "Fuck you clock! Stop ringing 'beep beep beep! I've been damn awoken!" The girl groaned as she reached out her hand to turn off the alarm clock. She rubbed her eyes in misery yet still managed to get out of bed pretty quickly the instant she recalled 'double the normal amount'.

The black-haired then didn't have to change her clothes after she had got into the habit of wearing ninja outfits while sleeping (all thanks to Deidara's sudden appearances, even though she was certain he'd never come again). She checked her weapons and her backpack to see if she had forgotten anything important. Finally, the girl looked at herself in the mirror.

'Sounding confident, and a bit arrogant' She smirked, commenting on her own self. 'But that's me anyway. I'm now happy with myself and with everything in my life."

She turned off the lights in her room and closed the door, 'Oh, but probably except for him leaving the village.'

x-

"I'm proud of myself being here so early." Kurotsuchi whispered to herself when she reached the destination at 12:45. The atmosphere at the border was impersonal and had an eerily forlorn touch to it. "Hey! Are you an Iwa-nin assigned here for a mission? Why are you here alone?" She heard a female voice inquiring. The black-haired turned her back and saw a woman who seemed to be mid-thirties holding a seven-year-old's hand. "Hello and yes, I'm surely here to escort you and your son, Miss Ayameko. I'm the leader of the group and my comrades have yet to come. But don't worry, I think you only have to wait a few more minutes for them to-"

"Hello, are you there Kurotsuchi?"

"No, I'm not, Naime!"

"You are here." The brown-haired beamed. "Oh hi, miss! You must be our VIP customers – Hikari Ayameko and her son! Thank you for having supported our village financially throughout such a long period. I promise we'll protect you with our best whenever trouble arises."

"And moreover, we'll make sure no trouble arises." Kaoto stepped up from behind his girlfriend.

"Good, then we shall go now. I have to travel as fast as possible as things are a bit urgent. My husband needs my help."

"Okay, understood." Kurotsuchi stated, "First we'll start from the Southeast direction."

x-

"Err, could you tell me why we have to carry this much luggage?" The girl questioned as they walked - they had been travelling for three hours solid. Although the team had helped their customers with carrying all the stuff, she didn't know how the woman and that small kid had managed to bring so many things along in the first place.

"My husband was attacked and robbed of all his valuables when he was on his way from Konoha back to our village. He did hire ninjas from Konoha to protect him but he encountered a daring, skilled gang and one that had a lot of members. After a while with the ninja team struggling with the whole gang, he survived and quickly fled the scene. At least he still had clothes on his body but he had nothing else, so we bring food, clothes and a lot of stuff."

"Ah…"

"And sorry if you feel a bit sleepy because I've commissioned your service at 1:00 AM. I have to manage and arrange a plethora of things to make sure our business goes well even if I leave for more than a week. Preparing our luggage is also time-consuming, you know."

"I see. It's no problem really – we're all happy to work whenever we're called for!" The black-haired smile weakened when the lethargic faces of her friends caught her eyes. She knew her face couldn't bear much difference from theirs. "Oh come on Naime, we'll soon find a place to rest.", murmured the girl, "Please look happier."

She coughed, "I mean, I'm only worried if your son is okay."

"It's alright, he has slept from 7:00 PM to 12:00 PM yesterday."

"No, mom. Five hours is nothing like enough for a seven-year-old boy."

"Yeah he's right." The brown-haired tiredly raised her voice, "Let's find somewhere to stay."

She didn't need to ask why they had already stood in front of the only hotel that human eyes could detect in a secluded landscape seeming to stretch thousands of miles.

"Yes, Kurotsuchi."

x-

The door was opened. "Hi, what's up?"

Kurotsuchi froze at the sight of him, and Deidara suddenly forgot why he was even standing there. Tobi turned to ask the receptionist, "So, this young girl has a son and brings a lot of stuff?"

x-

"So I guess for privacy and space, we could have three rooms, one for me, another for Miss Ayameko with her son, and the last one for the couple. I've already known Naime'll choose to be Kaoto's roommate in preference to me and you two don't expect me to sleep with you, don't you?"

Naime smiled, "Y-Yeah, I have no objection."

"Me too, I guess. You'd cause trouble in one way or another." Kaoto rolled his eyes. The black-haired glared at him.

"Okay, so I'll tell the receptionist. Looks like there are quite a lot of vacancies here." Before she left, she couldn't help but casually remind them of the need not to disturb her, "And I don't expect to hear weird noises in the next room during my sleep, you know."

"Kurotsuchi!"

x-

The door was slammed right in front of their face.

"O-Oh noo. Please don't kill m-me. She's not the woman with a son l-like I said. That w-woman seems to be in room 053 instead, a-actually. Okay s-so let me-"

The blond stood thinking for a few seconds. He had to think quick – he was aware of his choices. No they weren't choices. They were opportunities. His only choice was whether to take the opportunity or not. Now, or never again - this was not 'on the spur of the moment' in any way. Finally, he decided to cut her off, "Do something to get me into room 052 or I'll kill you, yeah."

"Why, Senpai?"

"QUICK!"

The young woman knocked her door even more distraughtly, "I really- No t-this boy is being injured and really needs your help. Please help me or I-I'll no I m-mean he'll die. PLEASE, MISS. I need you!"

The door was opened again. "Gosh, you're here. L-Look he is bleeding…"

Kurotsuchi looked at his wound. "The woman Hikari Ayameko staying next to my room does bring the first aid kit, why wouldn't you- WAIT SHE NEEDS TO BE PROTECTED." She glared at him as she slammed the door again, "I don't have any responsibility to help you. I mean, why wouldn't you fuck off and leave-"

Deidara tried to stop her despite the pain wildly flaring up. "Ouch, Kurotsuchi, if you don't let me in, I'll have no choice other than visiting the next room."

She looked at him, full of hatred and annoyance.

"Fuck you."

x-

She violently and swiftly pulled him into her room, slamming and locking her door immediately after. She knew she was inviting another mess into her life. In fact it wasn't exactly 'another', it was the old mess that now visited her yet another time.

"Senpai? Hey miss receptionist can you find any other way to let me in, too? I won't kill you but what if senpai kill you when you don't let me in?"

"Sorry, it's annoying enough for her when one of you guys disturbed her. If I do something more I guess she'll be the one to kill me."

x-

"What do you want, you motherfucker? I thought you'd disappear from my life forever?"

"Shit, I want you…" He tried to grin when he nonchalantly ensconced himself on her bed like he always had done before, but the pain was too great. "I mean I want you to do something with my wound. If not, I'll die."

"Isn't it all what I want now? I want all nukenins to die. Die an ignominious death. Die because they've chosen the most stupid path any ninja could ever choose and die because they've ignore others' sufferings-"

"It's not time you delivered a lecture, yeah."

"Pathetic." She pouted at him, "Look who's begging for his life in front of me."

"Shit, that's bad," Deidara groaned "But Kurotsuchi, you'll choose to ignore my sufferings and watch me dying gradually and painfully?" He took off his cloak and piece of shirt on his body, revealing the bloody wound. "Blood stinks, mmm. Sorry."

She didn't respond.

"Okay, seriously you're going to stand there and do nothing at all?"

"Yes, I'm intending to watch you die." She shrugged her shoulders, "I'll tell my grandfather how ignominious and ugly you look when you die. I'll boast about letting you die with my friends. And I'll tell my village the monster has really gone. And anybody who decided to be the monster will suffer the same fate."

"No, that's bad…"

He inhaled and exhaled more and more heavily as each second passed by. 'He was stupid.' She thought, 'What the fuck is "Because they are too stupid to avoid it successfully" and "I won't be that stupid, and even if push comes to shove, I'm willing to if it's for art."?'

"Kurotsuchi, that's bad…"

After a few more minutes, he closed his eyes and gave every appearance of having fainted.

"Yeah, that's bad."

Things the three girls talked about in their sleepover was pretty similar to what I and my friends often talk about in our sleepover, too: Boys (although none of us has ever had a boyfriend in our lives) and the silliest things in the world! Many events in this chapters are told and juxtaposed in a weird way by me but I think it's not that complex and I hope you can still understand what I mean o(TヘTo)

Hope you don't find Deidara and Kurotsuchi too OOC (of course they are anyway) in this and the next chapter. I love you a lot because you've chosen to read this shit until chapter 9 (*^▽^*)
