Part 2

Time slipped beneath his fingers
Yet Frodo awoke with a start
He found a lair so meager
There wasn't any sign of Gandalf or his cart

He moved from the bed he sat on
He saw the seductress inside her study
She was beautiful, a hobbit in dreams and in songs
He questioned why he had been summoned, despite the mud

As he stood up, the seductress faced him
She was determined to keep the poor hobbit there
No matter what he did, no matter what she sinned
The seductress' need was great, to trouble her mare

The woman's voice proved to be crystal clear
Frodo became drawn to her presence
For what reasons he did not understand, and yet he faced a mirror
Of glass – many were in the lair, where few had last met

The seductress' suitor, once before
How could Frodo escape the woman's tomb?
The hobbit thought fast, he needed something more
Than to be treated with ill words, to stay in her room

So, the woman released Frodo Baggins
He did not understand, a secret was kept hidden
Inside her heart - he could no longer stagger
The hobbit left the witch's lair, only to listen

To cars, horns, tires, and masses of people
All speaking in French – where was the Shire?
Opening the vent, Frodo saw a tall steeple
Towards the side of an Opera House, greatly admired

Two days passed in Hobbiton; Frodo still had not returned
Bilbo was worried, troubled, and stern
The hobbit tween told him the same story
How she met Bilbo's cousin, she slept there until morning

Bilbo received a letter from the woman – who else?
Samwise Gamgee, the gardener, could tell
The woman took Frodo in the midst of the night
The tween was upset, who had done such a might?

The three read the letter with great disbelief
Never had this happened before; Bilbo took a seat
Sam and the tween debated for a moment or two
Over Frodo and the seductress, the mourning doves cooed

Outside Bag End, while the hobbit tween felt
The need to find Frodo, have this problem dealt
With before the woman in person
As long as time gained her favor, upon a pony's stirrups
