RAW is WAR: 11/8/1997
RAW is WAR was live at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The country whipping match between The Legion of Doom and the Goodwins had passed, and up next was a two-on-one Handicap match pitting Scott Putski and Tony Williams against an unknown opponent. The two men in question had already made their way to the ring and were talking strategy as Goldust and his wife, Marlena, head down to show us up on the TitanTron that they have a hidden camera in Brian Pillman's dressing room. They think it's funny to secretly watch him have to put on a dress.
However, the video is soon cut off and the lights go out to cheers from the crowd.
Uh-oh." Vince said, having a feeling that he knew who was coming out.
OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!
"Big uh-oh!" JR exclaimed as the crowd gave a bit of a loud cheer.
The Devil's Wolf plays as fire explodes on the stage, making many flinch in response while the lighting shifts to the sinister blood red and dark blue. And soon enough, out comes the Bladewolf to a louder reaction than what he got last week in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
"Here he comes!" Vince exclaimed.
"And their opponent, weighing 310 lbs... THE BLADEWOLF!" Tony Chimel announced.
"He made his RAW debut last week by defeating Brian Christopher, and what a beating it was." JR said as replays of Bladewolf's match against Brian Christopher last week, including the post-match beating, are shown for those that missed it. "The Bladewolf was just merciless and remorseless in his assault."
"And he has not said a word about his intentions here in the World Wrestling Federation." Vince added. "King, do you have anything to comment about last week?"
"No comment." Jerry said.
"How's your boy?" JR asked.
"Oh shut up."
The Bladewolf makes his way down the ramp and straight to the ring, grabbing the top rope and pulling himself up onto the apron. He stares down Putski and Williams for a moment before he steps over the top rope and stands across from his two opponents before slowly reaching up to remove the metallic Predator-style mask, revealing the wolf mask underneath with the eyeholes shrouded in darkness as usual.
"That freaks me out, every time!" Jerry shook his head.
"It's like his eyes are filled with nothing but darkness." JR nodded.
"The Bladewolf is certainly an intimidating man." Vince stated.
The Bladewolf takes off his coat, unlike last week where he wore it during his match with Brian Christopher. He drops the coat and metallic mask outside the ring, leaving a stagehand to quickly grab it and take it away as the Bladewolf faces Putski and Williams, the lights returning to normal and his theme dying down.
"So, it'll be the Bladewolf taking on Scott Putski and Tony Williams in a two-on-one Handicap match." Vince said.
"Two on one should be easy for Putski and Williams." Jerry said confidently.
JR disagreed, however. "I'd have to disagree with you on that. We've seen what he can do to one man after what he's done to Tiger ALi Singh and Brian Christopher. Against two men at once? I doubt it'll matter to him."
"Well, that's what you think." Jerry waved his opinions off.
The referee then calls for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Putski was quick to get out onto the apron, letting Williams start the match much to his chagrin as he argyued with Putski about it. The Bladewolf simply remained as still as a statue, only slowly tilting his head to the left like Michael Myers.
"Scott Putski not wanting to start the match." Vince noted. "And Tony Williams doesn't seem to want to do the same."
"Can you blame them?" Jerry asked.
"Not really." Vince shook his head.
Eventually, Williams faced the Bladewolf hesitantly before he rushes at Bladewolf, hoping to catch him off guard with the sudden charge, but the Bladewolf instead lunges forward to hit a massive clothesline that made Williams flip backwards and land on his front.
"Woah!" Jerry exclaimed.
"What a massive clothesline!" Vince agreed.
"Tony Williams just flipped right onto his stomach!" JR shouted.
Vince shook his head slowly. "What power this seven-foot, 310 lbs monster known as the Bladewolf has."
The Bladewolf turned around and approached Williams who was trying to shake off the massive clothesline but Bladewolf crouches to a knee, grabs the back of his head and slams it off the canvas, an action he repeats several more times.
"And the Bladewolf's pummeling assault begins." Vince said. The referee tries to cut Bladewolf off but gets scared back by a whirl of the 310 lbs man. "And the referee wisely backing off."
"Why should he be scared of the Bladewolf? He's the referee!" Jerry pointed out.
"Would you want to tell the Bladewolf to stop, King?" JR retorted.
"No." Came the quick reply.
The Bladewolf gets to his feet and pulls Williams to his before Irish whipping him in the ropes. Williams rebounds and comes running straight into the Bladewolf's grasp as he lifts him up and slams him down with a sidewalk slam.
"Sidewlk slam." Vince commented. "Just dominating."
The Bladewolf got back to his feet and watches Williams attempt to try and crawl towards his aprtner, who looked hesitant in getting into the ring with the Bladewolf. The masked man grabs Williams and pulls him to his feet before he lifts him up and proceeds to toss him from the center of the ring directly into his own corner, startling Putski who backed off just in time as the Bladewolf runs and clotheslines Williams in the corner.
"The Bladewolf's domination continues as he manhandles Tony Williams in the corner." JR said. The Bladewolf starts pummeling Williams with lefts and rights to the midection, then a big right hand to the head. "Oh! What a right!" Suddenly. Putski got into the ring behind Bladewolf, runs forward and clobbers the back of the Bladewolf's head with his forearm which just makes the man halt and turn to him. "That may have been a bad idea by Scott Putski!"
"Run!" Jerry shouted, even though Putski couldn't hear him.
Putski backed up as the Bladewolf stalked towards him. Putski attacks with a punch to the midsection, but the Bladewolf barely flinches from it. Putski keeps up the attack of punches before he runs, bounces off the ropes only to be caught by the throat when he runs back.
"The Bladewolf has him by the throat!" Vince exclaimed.
"No!" Jerry shouted.
"It may be time for a Chokeslam!" JR said. Grabbing Putski by the throat with both hands, Bladewolf whirls around and sends Putski over the top rope and down to the floor. "Maybe not!"
"Oh!" Vince flinches at the impact of Putski smacking the floor. "That had to hurt."
"You think?" Jerry asked him sarcastically.
The Bladewolf turns back to Williams who had stumbled to his feet only to be given a kick to the stomach by the Bladewolf, making him cover that area with winded breaths. The Bladewolf then grabs Williams and lifts him up into the air into a military press.
"Look at that!" Vince exclaimed.
"The power and strength of the Bladewolf!" JR said. The Bladewolf walks towards the ropes. "What's he doing?"
The Bladewolf strides right towards the ropes and... TOSSES TONY WILLIAMS ONTO SCOTT PUTSKI!
"OH!" The three commentators wince, with Vince continuing. "The Bladewolf just tossing one man on top of the other!"
The Bladewolf stared down at both men, watching them slowly untangle from each other and attempt to get back to their feet. The Bladewolf backs up in the ring until he stood in the center, then he suddenly turns and runs, bounces off the ropes and comes running again.
"What's he-?!" Vince's eyes widened when the Bladewolf... LAUNCHES HIMSELF OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TAKES DOWN BOTH MEN IN A SUICIDE DIVE! "OH MY GOD!"
"The Bladewolf went flying!" JR shouted.
"Oh my God!" Jerry couldn't believe it.
"That's 310 lbs going airborne and descending on two men!" Vince said.
The crowd were cheering at the spectacle they just saw, clapping in appreciation and likeness at what they saw as the Bladewolf got to his feet, flipping his hair back. The Bladewolf grabs Putski and Williams by their hair, causing them to yell in pain as the referee yells at the Bladewolf to release them and get them back in the ring. The Bladewolf ignores them as he tosses them back into the ring, sliding in after them.
"Back into the ring now." Vince noted.
The Bladewolf watches Putski and Williams fight to their feet, trying to shake off the rcobwebs from the suicide dive. As they turned around however... BOTH WERE GRABBED BY THE THROAT!
"Caught!" JR exclaimed.
"Scott Putski and Tony Willimas are going for a ride!" Vince shouted as the Bladewolf lifts both men up... AND NAILS A DOUBLE CHOKESLAM!
"Double Chokeslam! With ease!" JR said. "A double Chokeslam with ease!"
Bladewolf grabs Putski and places him on top of Williams before he places his boot on Putski's chest, with the referee beginning the count.
"One!"
"Two!"
"Three! Ring the bell!" The referee called.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
The Devil's Wolf plays to a positive reaction from the fans as the Bladewolf removes his foot. "Here is your winner... THE BLADEWOLF!" Tony Chimel announced.
"What dominance, what strength and power from this masked monster of a man!" JR said.
"Can anybody stop the Bladewolf?" Vince wondered.
"Short answer, McMahon? No." Jerry said bluntly. "You can't. You can't stop him."
The Bladewolf turns swiftly and leaves the ring without so much as a glance back at the men he destroyed.
Later
After the segment between Rocky Maivia and the Nation of Domination, Sable heads out to introduce the next match. Boobs. She's interrupted by the Patriot. He doesn't want to wait any longer to get his hands on Bret Hart. He wants the WWF Champion tonight. Well, Bret obliges him. Unfortunately, he corners himself away from the entrance ramp so that while Patriot is raining down upon him with the gusts of a thousand winds, the other Hart Foundation members (sans Jim Neidhart) run down to get them some.
"This is just chaotic!" Vince commented as Bret continued to pound away on the Patriot while the Hart Foundation members stood around, watching. However, somebody caught everyone's attention. "What's this?"
The camera looked... and here comes the Bladewolf with two steel chairs in hand!
"It's the Bladewolf!" JR exclaimed. "The Bladewolf is coming to the ring!"
"And he's got two cheers!" Jerry screamed.
"What is he doing out here?" Vince wondered. "Who is he coming for?"
The Bladewolf shoves one chair into the ring when a referee tries to stop him but gets clobbered by the Bladewolf for his troubles. Bladewolf takes out two more referees as the Hart Foundation noticed his presence. The Bladewolf enters the ring and grips the steel chair in his hand before he swings... AND SMACKS THE CHAIR OFF A REFEREE'S HEAD!
"Good God!" JR shouted.
"Bladewolf with that chair on a referee!" Vince added.
The Hart Foundation quickly got Bret out of the ring and retreated up the ramp with the Bladewolf watching them go, a cold look in his dark brown eyes as the camera zooms in close to the eyeholes of the mask to see the cold, dark glare he was aiming at the Hart Foundation.
"Such coldness, such darkness in the eyes of this monster!" Vince said.
The Bloadewly slowly turns his head to see the Patriot getting to his feet, watching him blankly. When the Patriot turns around... THE BLADEWOLF CLONKS HIM OVER THE HEAD WITH THE STEEL CHAIR!
"What?!" Jerry's eyes widened,
"What the hell?!" Vince was surprised as well.
"The Bladewolf just smacked that chair off the head of the Patriot!" JR said as the crowd gave Bladewolf a negative reaction, booing him.
The Bladewolf didn't care as he crouches to a knee, grabs the Patriot and wedges the chair around his throat to an even louder negative reaction from the fans.
"Oh no." Vince said, dreading what was about to happen.
"He's not gonna do this, is he?" Jerry wondered.
"I think he is, and nobody's brave enough to stop him!" JR said.
The Bladewolf grabs the second chair and places it over the Patriot's head before he leaves the ring and starts looking underneath it for something. He crouches to a knee and then stands up while pulling out a black baseball bat.
"A baseball bat?" Vince blinked.
"I don't like this." JR said. "This is not right. Enough is enough!"
The Bladewolf gets back into the ring, clutching the bat tightly as he stands over the Patriot. The referees attempt to enter the ring but the Bladewolf whirls around and points the bat at them, daring them to enter. None of them take his challenge. He kept the bat pointed at them before he suddenly rears back... AND BRINGS THE BAT DOWN ONTO THE TOP CHAIR!
"Good God!" Vince shouted.
"Oh my God!" Jerry's eyes widened.
The Patriot writhes in pain as blood comes out of his mouth. The Bladewolf stared down with a cold, remorseless expression as he tilts his head to the right, and then to the left. He points the bat downward and drives it down into the throat of the Patriot to choke him.
"Oh come on! Stop this!" JR demanded.
"Enough already!" Vince agreed.
The Bladewolf does eventually stop and backs up a step, watching the Patriot writhe in pain, before he leaves the ring which allows the referees to quickly slide in and check on the Patriot.
"Was this some kind of message from the Bladewolf?" Vince wondered.
"I don't care, but it is despicable and sadistic." JR said with disgust.
The Bladewolf looks at the Hart Foundation on the stage and slowly raises the bat to point... directly at Bret Hart.
"He's pointing at Bret Hart! it was a message to him!" Vince realized. "Bret Hart is the WWF Champion, ladies and gentlemen, and this was undoubtly the Bladewolf's way of telling the Champion what he can do... and that he may be coming for Bret and his title one day soon."
"But to go this far?" JR asked.
"Sometimes you have to go that far to make a statement, Ross." Jerry pointed out.
RAW went to commercial break afterwards.
And that's it for this chapter. Looks like the Bladewolf is making a statement directly towards the WWF Champion, Bret Hart. I know it's early to have Bladewolf get a WWF Title shot, but I do want him to face Bret before the Montreal Screwjob, even if it's just one match.
