Badd Blood: In Your House: 5/10/1997
George was backstage at the Kiel Center in St. Louis, Missouri where tonight's PPV, Badd Blood: In Your House, was being held. He walked passed many backstage officials, who were walking or running around the backstage areas. He wasn't schedule to have a live match, as he'll only have a Dark match due to the card being full. He wasn't too annoyed with that, since he had been in a live match at SummerSlam and Ground Zero, the latter he still had his doubts about in being given a title match that early in his short time with the WWF.
But with the Patriot having been injured at the time, Vince needed a replacement and chose him, though did tell him he wouldn't be winning the title. George supposed that was better than being awarded it, which would've upset several people backstage according to Mark since some would've felt cheated given their tenures with the company while George had not even been six months of a year with the company.
He walked over towards a bench and sat down with a huff. He checked the time on his watch and saw he had about two hours to get ready for his match. George made sure that his suitcase was locked and secured in a locker, also adding a lock on it with a key that he put in a spot that was hard to find. Jack checked and double-checked the lock was secure before he was satisfied with it. George then exited the room and towards the catering area.
He was able to enter and saw a slew of superstars in a sombre mood. Confused, George looked around and saw Sunny with The Hart Foundation except for Brian Pillman, who was suspiciously absent.
He walked over and softly gained their attention. "Hey." All of them looked over to him. "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
The group nodded with the same sombre mood. Owen had spoken first. "Uh. Brian's dead; he was found dead this morning."
George didn't know Brian Pillman personally, or professionally, having only had a small few interactions with the man, however, he could see from The Hart Foundation in front of him and around the catering that Brian had earned respect from the various wrestlers.
George released a breath. "I can't say I'm distraught about the news. I didn't know him, so I don't think I can mourn him. However, I can see that you guys did. I can only hope that he is in a better place right now. I will leave you alone to mourn." George nodded goodbye and walked away back to his locker room.
He entered and sat down before sighing. From what he heard, Brian Pillman was like a brother to Owen and Bret Hart, in all but blood. George couldn't mourn the person, but he could mourn the loss of a great wrestler that the world will miss.
A knocking on the door interrupted his thinking. He stood, walked over and opened to see a down Vince McMahon.
"Good evening, George. May I come in?" Vince asked. George nodded and moved back into the room; Vince followed as George sat down and closed the door behind him.
George sat and watched as Vince walked over until he was standing at least two feet in front of him. "Is there something changing about my match tonight? Is it cancelled?" He asked, thinking that they might add a tribute to Brian and cancel his match.
Vince, however, shook his head for a 'no'. "Nothing like that. Because of Brian's... untimely death. The fight he was going to have with Dude Love, is now going to be changed for Bob Holly and you." Vince informed George, who just nodded, accepting that.
Vince left soon after. George just got dressed into his wrestling gear but kept the mask and coat off for now. He saw a TV in one of the top corners and turned it on to pass the time.
On screen
WWF Badd Blood: In Your House was live at the Kiel Center in St. Louis, Missouri. At the top of the show, as the Nation of Domination were preparing for their match, Vince McMahon mentioned, as had already been announced on the Free For All pre-show, that Brian Pillman died earlier that day.
The event started with the Nation of Domination taking on The Legion of Doom in what was supposed to be a six-man tag team match. However, Ken Shamrock (who was supposed to be Hawk & Animal's partner) was out due to injury. Faarooq interfered on behalf of his Nation teammates, which enabled Kama Mustafa to kick Hawk in the back of the head and Rocky Maivia to execute the Rock Bottom for the pin.
Next up was the Bladewolf vs Bob Holly.
After a brief backstage discussion with Sunny and Dok, the camera turned to the commentary table of Vince McMahon, Jerry 'The King' Lawler and Jim Ross. When Vince spoke to the camera, sadness in his voice being prevalent.
"What was scheduled ladies and gentlemen, we would have seen in just a moment. We would be going to see the matchup with Brian Pillman and Dude Love. As we reported in the Free-For-All as soon as we got the information that, unfortunately, Brian Pillman was found dead in his hotel room in Bloomington, Minnesota, where he had competed the night before." Vince was saddened by the news and took a breath and cleared his throat. "Nonetheless we offer our condolences to Mr Pillman's family and as soon as we have more information. We will give you everything that we know, but right now, that's all we know, and so we have scrambled a bit and come up with, a match that we think you'll enjoy."
OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf played as the crowd gave a medium-sized cheer while the lights switched to the sinister blood red and dark blue before the Bladewolf walked out past the curtain, dressed in his black coat, hood up, metallic Predator-style mask over his demonic wolf one.
"The match is scheduled for one fall with a fifteen-minute time limit, introducing first from parts unknown. Standing at seven feet tall, weighing in at three hundred and ten lbs. THE BLADEWOLF!" Howard Finkel was the announcer for this match.
The Bladewolf walked silently towards the ring and got onto the apron, stepping over the top rope. He pushed his hood down and took off his coat, dumping it outside the ring, followed by the removal of his metallic mask to reveal the wolf one underneath. He turned and stood in a corner, staring at the entrance-way as the lights returned to normal, waiting for his opponent.
The theme of Bob 'Spark Plug' Holly played as he ran out of the gorilla position, energetic and raised his arms with a smile. Some of the crowd, like for the Bladewolf but a few more people, cheered for the known superstar. Holly was around six foot with a long, dark brown mullet; a purple singlet with white and black patterns similar to the staring lines of a racetrack down the sides of his torso and his legs. White boots were on his feet covering his singlet; a black elbow pad on his left arm with purple and white tape around his wrists.
"Now, we have the Bladewolf facing off against another experienced superstar in Bob 'Spark Plug' Holly. Gentlemen, how do you think Holly's experience will play into this?" Vince questioned his fellow commentators.
Jim Ross was the first to answer "I believe that Holly should just focus on his speed and take his shots when he can to try and wear the big man down."
King, however, had a different idea. "That would take a year at most." His belief in Bob Holly winning was zero after seeing the last few matches between the Bladewolf and his opponents. "I'm just wondering what's going through Holly's mind. Accepting to face against this monster!"
Holly entered the ring and raised his arms straight into the air towards the crowd. He moved to the corner opposite the Bladewolf, who only stared blankly.
"I don't think the Bladewolf is impressed." Vince couldn't help but notice.
The ref checked if both men were ready, Bob audibly saying "Yes!" while Bladewolf just blinked slowly. Seeing that both men were prepared the ref called for the bell to be rung!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
"Alright, here we go an-Oh!" JR went to speak but stopped and yelled, alongside the crowd, when the Bladewolf ran and gave a massive running yakuza kick that flipped Bob Holly around. Holly then landed on his front. The crowd started to talk loudly at the move. The Bladewolf walked in front of the downed superstar and crouched in front of Holly's head.
"A massive boot that just turned Bob Holly inside out!" JR called out.
"This is what I'm talking about!" Lawler cried. "Why would someone face this man?!"
The question went unanswered as the Bladewolf grabbed Holly by his mullet before picking him up in a powerslam position. Bladewolf then ran from the corner towards the middle of the ring performed a loud running powerslam.
"Oh!" Lawler flinched at the move. "We might as well stop this."
"I think your right King." JR agreed, to which Lawler stared at his fellow commentator.
"Wait, you agree with me?"
The referee went in to check on Holly as the Bladewolf stood nearby, watching with the ever common cold, remorseless look in his dark brown eyes. The masked monster merely adjusting his right elbow pad briefly as Holly shook his head, letting the referee know he wasn't quitting the match.
He had started getting to his hands and knees, albeit stumbling while doing so, when the Bladewolf stalked over. Sensing that his opponent was close Holly got to his feet and struck the Bladewolf across the face multiple times.
But they did not affect the Demon Wolf whatsoever.
"And Spark Plug fighting to stay in this match! Fighting to stay alive." Vince said.
"There's no point!" Lawler countered as the Bladewolf gave a huge uppercut that made Bob Holly fly backwards into the corner. "Oh, you see."
The Bladewolf ran across the short distance to flatten Holly with a body splash. The crowd and the commentators reacted again.
The Bladewolf moved back, which allowed Bob Holly to fall on his front. The masked man picked Holly up only to push him towards the middle of the ring, and Bladewolf followed. The Bladewolf once again picked him up only to shoe Holly's head between his thighs and lifted Bob on his shoulders. Bladewolf waited a moment before... THROWING HOLLY DOWN FOR A POWERBOMB!
"Oh, a bone-crunching powerbomb an-wait what is he doing?" Vince asked as the Bladewolf, still holding onto Holly's legs. He was soon answered by the Bladewolf lifting Holly up and... HITTING ANOTHER POWERBOMB!
But he didn't stop there as he lifted Holly up... AND HIT A THIRD POWERBOMB! He lifted Holly up... AND DELIVERED A FOURTH POWERBOMB!
"Good god, stop the match!" JR screamed into his headset.
The Bladewolf delivered another three powerbombs before turning towards the turnbuckles; he ran a bit before releasing Holly into the corner. Spark Plug's back impacted into the turnbuckles, making the crowd flinch again.
The Bladewolf stared down at his opponent with no remorse.
"Oh my god! This isn't even a match! It's a massacre!" JR said in near horror at the viciousness of the big man.
Luckily the referee stopped the Bladewolf by yelling at to stop and trying to push him away.
"Phew! At least the ref is stopping this." Lawler said as the ref called for the bell to be rung.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
The referee raised the hand of the Bladewolf, who snapped his gaze to him as his theme played. The Bladewolf, upset at the match being stopped, clobbered the referee with a right hook that knocked him out.
"Oh!" The commentators reacted in shock.
"Ladies and gentlemen, due to referee stoppage, your winner... THE BLADEWOLF!." Hiward Finkel announced some of the crowd booed the finish, but the rest clapped the victor.
The Bladewolf slowly turned his gaze to the limp form of Bob Holly and walked towards him as his theme dies down.
"Oh what now?" JR asked, dreading whatever the Bladewolf was going to do to an already bruised and battered Bob Holly.
The Bladewolf grabs Holly, lifting him to his feet, then scoops him onto his right shoulder as if going for a powerslam. However, he surprised everyone when he positioned Holly upside down in front of him, holding him in a very familiar way.
"Wait a minute...?" Vince realized what he was doing. "That's-"
The Bladewolf surprised everyone... AS HE HITS A TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER!
"A Tombstone Piledriver!" JR exclaimed.
The Bladewolf got to a knee, staring down at Holly, before he got to his feet and left the ring. His theme resumed playing as the lights dimmed to the sinister blood red and dark blue.

"I definetely caught everyone off guard with the use of a Tombstone." George said as he met up with Mark, having showered and changed out of his wrestling gear.
Mark chuckled. "You catch them off guard, they'll be more interested to see more of you. Now come on, Vince wants to talk to us about an idea involving you."
"Did he say what kind?" George asked curiously, following Mark as they made their way backstage to Vince's office.
"No, but it does have something to do with a building storyline." Mark said. They arrived at Vince's office, and entered to see the boss himself talking with two men, one of which George recognized to be Paul Bearer, as he was known on-screen.
"Ah, Mark, george, good you're here. I had to run this by you all quickly before the next match." Vince said as he ushered George and Mark into the office.
"What's this about?" Mark asked, hands on his hips.
"First off, George, meet Glenn Jacobs and William Moody." Vince introduced.
"Been watching you for the past couple of months, you're not doing too bad." William said as he shook George's hand.
"Thank you." He said, shaking Glenn's hand as well.
"I wanted to get you all together because of a new idea I had, one to add to the storyline of the Undertaker and Kane." Vince said, looking between Mark and Glenn, who will be making his debut tonight under the ring name 'Kane', the Undertaker's little brother.
Mark narrowed his eyes, hoping this wasn't an idea that would be too far-fetched to add into the storyline.
Vince smiled. "What do you guys say to there being a third, younger brother of the Undertaker and Kane?"
And that's it for this chapter. Badd Blood, the event which saw the first Hell in a Cell match and the debut of Kane, as well as the beginning of the Undertaker/Kane rivalry that is well loved and favoured to this day.
