A/N: Chapter two of the story! As I mentioned earlier, this will pretty much cover the two-pronged attack on Earth 1 by Brainiac and the Dominators as well as Grodd and his army. This chapter will have to be two parts. This part will cover the Dominators arriving and the second part will cover Gorilla Grodd's arrival as well as the allied forces banding together.
ASSAULT ON EARTH ONE: PART ONE
Earth 1
Central City
0344 Hours EST
Barry was in the speed lab, working out at both human and super speed as sweat soaked his body. So much so that he had removed and tossed away his t-shirt. His arm, chest, and abdominal muscles had become more refined. He was still fairly lean, but compared to the skinny boy he always used to be, his body was much closer to the muscular kind Oliver Queen and John Diggle had. Pull ups, push ups, crunches, boxing a punching bag with relatively as much mass as Gorilla Grodd. Barry did whatever kind of training he could. He had to be ready, just like Harry had warned him to be. He had only slept about two hours from eleven to one in the morning. He couldn't sleep. Not when an attack of any magnitude could come at any moment. As Barry punched and punched his punching back, his knuckles started to bruise and whiten with scratches. He didn't use gloves, just white, boxing wraps. He punched faster and faster, pushing through whatever level of exhaustion the last two and a half hours of super speed workout had put him through as orange lightning followed his fists. Then, he threw one final punch as he sent the bag flying across the speed lab. The sudden surge of strength from him caused Barry to stop and calm down as he heaved and breathed deeply. He held his hands in front of his eyes as he saw the bruises and scratch marks on his knuckles.
"Pushing yourself, huh?" An image of Harrison Wells said from the corner, at least, it looked like Wells, only the sly smirk and the yellow speedster suit convinced Barry otherwise.
"So now you're in my head too…" Barry muttered as he grabbed a towel and wiped the sweat off his upper body.
"Doesn't change the fact that whatever I say to your weakening mind is still true," Thawne sassed. "After all, if I'm just in your head, then surely that means you're telling yourself this, right?"
"Get to the point, Thawne."
"Disassembling Team Flash, huh?" Thawne questioned. "Never would've guessed you of all people would've gone for that move. Then again, it is time good ol' Barry relied on himself for a change, right? But can you rely on yourself for this?"
Barry remained silent as he walked around the speed lab, storing the equipment back to its proper place.
"You can't hide behind silence, Barry…" Thawne said, moving his index finger in a 'no-no' manner. "We both know it's true. You're not fast enough to stop an army of super apes and aliens coming for this Earth, you're not smart enough to outmaneuver them, and you're sure as hell not strong enough to punch your way out of this." Thawne chuckled and smirked. "Hell, you could barely even catch me. And that was with your precious team of fuck-ups and idiots."
"I'm not doing this entirely alone." Barry muttered.
Thawne faked a realizing look. "Oh right, right, right. Yes. How could I forget? Our good friend Oliver and his team of fuck-ups and idiots. Hate to break it to you, Allen, but you guys? Against an army of aliens and Grodd clones? Heh. The only thing you're doing together is dying. It's gonna be even worse than your parents had it. At least there were still people alive to go to their funerals. Everyone on this planet will be wiped off the map by the time they get ready for yours."
Barry gritted his teeth and turned to face his hallucination of Thawne. "Is that what this is? You just taunting me and throwing some lame ass insults at my face? Because the Eobard Thawne I know at least did a better job."
"Barry, Barry, Barry…" Thawne said in a tsk, tsk, tsk tone as he approached the young speedster before walking around in circles. "You can't hide how afraid you are. How screwed you know you are. You can't save this world. And why should you? You weren't fast enough to save your mother. Your father. Eddie. Ronnie. You killed Dante, your own best friend's brother. Cursed your other best friend with powers from a…psycho personality. Erased a daughter from John Diggle's life and ruined a relationship within your own family. You're a ticking time bomb to everyone around you. You, Barry Allen, are a cancer to anyone who ever loved you."
Barry remained silent as he stared blankly, allowing for Thawne's words to sink deeply into his mind.
"Think about it, Barry…" Thawne continued. "Your mother wouldn't have died if I'd just killed you. Your father wouldn't have died if you just accepted that deep down, you and Zolomon weren't so dissimilar. Eddie, Ronnie, and everyone who died in the singularity would be alive if you never caused it. And everyone broken because of Flashpoint would've been fine if you didn't destroy the timeline." Thawne chuckled in a mocking tone. "I mean, come on, Barry. You didn't go back in time and - I don't know - ensure Hitler got into art school and stop World War II, prevent JFK's assassination, or save India from Britain's colonization. No, no, no. You went back and saved your mommy and daddy. Because poor Barry Allen wanted to see them again.
"And what happened next…you watched Nora die again by my hand? How did it feel, Barry? How did it feel? Knowing you had to watch your own mother die, all over again, and just standing there and watch, again, as I once again drove a knife into her stupid little heart?"
Thawne's maniacal chuckling then followed as Barry shuddered, his right hand reflexively clenching into a fist as the chuckling grew to laughter. The laughter to cackling. The cackling to absolute madness and chaos. And then…to Nora Allen's screams and pleas for help in her dying moments. Finally, it was silent. The entire speed lab bathed in silence. A silence so loud that Barry could hear his blood and heart pumping, feeling it in his ears. He turned around and looked to see if his hallucination of Thawne was still taunting his mind. Or to see if anyone else at all was there. No one. It was just him. Barry swallowed a small lump in his throat as he shook it off before walking out of the speed lab, pulling his shirt over his head and wearing it as he headed for the cortex.
"My lord," a Dominator said in its native language, kneeling in front of Brainiac's throne as it approached him. "We have reached planet Earth and are just outside the planet's outermost reaches of its atmosphere."
"Excellent," Brainiac said with a hum. "Deploy the dropships and notify Grodd's army. They shall head in the hour upon our dropships landing. Scramble the dropships over the determined locations and show me a map of Earth. Our assault on Earth One begins."
"Yes, my lord," the Dominator obeyed with a nod before turning to its fellow companions. "Scramble the dropships! Attack Earth One!"
Barry entered the cortex of the STAR Labs facility as he noticed both Harry and Jesse.
"Hey," He said to the younger speedster, offering a cup of coffee. "How're you feeling?"
"Better," Jesse said gratefully. "Thanks to you. Appreciate you stitching me up."
"The alternative was letting you bleed to death, the choice was pretty clear."
Jesse chuckled briefly before groaning in pain as her stitches stretched. "At least someone's sense of humor is intact."
Barry smiled slightly as he went behind the main desk of the cortex.
"How was your training?" Harry asked.
"For starters', not bad," Barry replied. "I'm not exactly Batman or Oliver Queen rolled into one but I can make progress quickly so that's one thing."
"Kinda the point of being a speedster." Harry pointed out.
"Makes mastering and studying eight hundred books on Krav Maga, Muay Thai, and MMA easy too," Barry replied. "Can't say I'm on Oliver's level but I could definitely give those rookies of his a run for their money."
"I can help too, you know…" Jesse tried to say.
"Absolutely not." Harry said firmly.
"I hate to say it, Jesse, but your dad's right," Barry sighed. "You're too injured now and you're not gonna be useful to anyone if you're dead. Take some rest. Let your speed healing do its thing and then we'll see. Besides, I still have Wally, so we're not completely screwed."
"Wally has super speed too now?" Jesse asked before Barry nodded. "How many more Flashes are there gonna be?"
"Not nearly enough." Harry said grimly.
"We'll be as ready as we can be," Barry tried to say in an assuring manner. "I'm no Cisco but I can work the computer systems and satellites well enough. I have all of them tracking our atmospheres for anything abnormal."
"Like an alien ship or something?" Jesse asked.
Barry nodded. "That's right. Anything comes through, we'll get an alarm."
Suddenly, a loud blaring sound boomed through the facility repeatedly as a beeping sound emerged from the computer.
"Like that alarm?" Jesse asked dryly.
"Like that alarm." Barry and Harry said simultaneously.
As the alarm finally calmed down and ceased, Barry, using his super speed, typed on the computers quickly as he scanned the satellites across Earth. Harry went over to his side to help as Jesse limped toward the two men.
"I recognize that reading," Harry said, pointing to one of the computer screens on the desk. "It's a Dominator dropship. Where is it?"
"That's the thing…" Barry said grimly. "I'm getting several readings like this all over the whole damn globe."
"Where?" Jesse asked in horror.
Barry typed on the keyboard as he pulled out a map of the Earth and duplicated it on the four screens that were on the wall where his suit was. Multiple dots showed on the maps, indicating Dominator dropships.
"Paris, Tokyo, New Delhi, Shanghai," Barry said, reading off the locations where Dominator dropships were. "London, Moscow, Berlin, Toronto, the Falklands."
"There's several more readings all over the American, Eurasian, and African continent plates …" Harry said with a defeat-like sigh.
Barry looked over the maps in concern. "There's two here in the United States…one's in STAR City…"
"And the other?" Jesse squirmed, almost afraid to ask.
"It's right here…in Central City, downtown…" Barry replied as he looked back at Harry and Jesse. "I have to-"
"Go. Go now. GO!" Harry yelled.
Barry nodded as he disappeared from the cortex in a flicker of orange lightning, putting on his suit and running out of the facility as he raced for downtown Central City. It was only about four in the morning as the young speedster raced through the streets of the city. The sky was still relatively dark, barely lit at all. Sunrise wouldn't be for another four hours at least and the sun would be rising on a falling world. Barry skid to a halt as he approached the Dominator dropship in the middle of Central City. Crowds of panicking civilians desperately tried to flee the area as a stampede ensued. In several flashes of orange lightning, Barry evacuated every citizen within seven city blocks of the dropship as he relocated them far away before returning. The middle of downtown Central City was now empty for seven city blocks save for the infrastructure, the dropship, and Barry himself.
"That's the civilians taken care of…" Barry said.
For the first time, as he just realized, he'd only said it to himself. There was no Team Flash, no backup to guide him. It was like a child riding the bike, only the training wheels had been ripped off. Now, in order to ride alone, he'd have to ride faster. Barry analyzed the ship as he prepared to strike first. After lapping it once at super speed, he swung his arm forward as a bolt of lightning flew from his hand towards the ship. The lightning struck the dropship only for it to remain unharmed and unfazed, floating over twenty feet in the air.
"Now this again…" Barry muttered as he remembered how his attempt at throwing lightning failed against Zoom as well.
"Allen, that ship is emitting too much energy, you won't be able to penetrate it with your lightning." Harry said, speaking into the comms system.
"Kinda figured that out, Wells…" Barry muttered once more.
Suddenly, a bright white light flashed from the dropship as several, seven-foot-tall, skinny, greenish-beige aliens jumped from the dropship, completely surrounding Barry. There were several, at least five hundred from this single dropship alone.
"You guys must be the Dominators…" Barry said dryly as he looked around, seeing how surrounded he was as well as noticing each Dominator had some sort of gauntlet on their left arm. A weapon of some sort no doubt. "I'm-"
"We know who you are…Barry Allen." The Dominators said, speaking telepathically as they all groaned in a zombie-like fashion, keeping Barry surrounded.
Barry frowned. "How did you-"
"The means by which we discovered your identity are not relevant," another Dominator said. "Not for this at least…"
"Great, here I was thinking gorillas were the only telepathic, imperialist maniacs," Barry muttered before deciding to speak up as he slowly kept his hands up at chest level, extending them outward in a sort of peace/surrender fashion. "Look, we can make a deal. Right here, right now. Tell us what you want, we give it to you, and you can be on your way. It doesn't have to be this way. No one needs to get hurt."
"Diplomacy from a human?" a Dominator pondered. "This one seems different than most."
"Hey, we're not all imperial, oil-seeking, gun users…" Barry said dryly.
"You misunderstand, Mr. Allen…" the same Dominator said. "This Earth will fall, its inhabitants will be our slaves. Regardless of whatever you try to offer us, we will take this planet and its resources. And what we want…is you."
"Me?" Barry asked.
"You imbalanced the universe when you used your powers to change the natural course of time as you saw fit," the Dominator replied as Barry's eyes grew large in a slight shock. "By doing so, you have destabilized the common order of both this multiverse and ours."
"You're talking about Flashpoint…"
The Dominator nodded in confirmation.
"What do you mean I destabilized the 'common order of my multiverse and yours'? What does that mean?"
"For eons of millions and billions of years," the Dominator began. "The Dark Multiverse and this Multiverse have lived in a mutual treaty of peace. We refused and prohibited travel to each other's multiverses, each of which host an infinite amount of universes. We remained separated through a barrier known as the Source Wall, powered by an energy known as the Source.
"When you created the Flashpoint paradox, you damaged the Source Wall and spread dangerous energy waves across all of our universes, both in the Multiverse and the Dark Multiverse. Upon dissolving Flashpoint, you dissolved the Source Wall and now…the Multiverse and the Dark Multiverse have started to bleed into each other and will collide together. In order to ensure the survival of the Dark Multiverse, we must take over your Multiverse and now we've come for your Earth…and you."
Barry tried to process what he was being told as he breathed heavily. "You're saying…I did this? I started a war…"
"A war for the survival of one multiverse out of two, a war which will result in the destruction of countless universes and lives," the Dominator responded. "You must come with us. As our prisoner."
"And my Earth?" Barry demanded. "What happens to it? What happens?"
"The same that has happened to Earth 2 and countless other Earths that we and the gorillas have taken over," the Dominator replied. "The same that will happen to any and all other Earths that dare to resist and defy the Dark Multiverse: total annihilation and enslavement. Now…come with us and turn yourself into our prison."
"Well…" Barry began as he looked over to the Dominators. "On the behalf of the citizens and animals of planet Earth, I say…get the hell out of my planet."
"Seize him!" the Dominator ordered as the five hundred Dominators ran towards Barry.
At super speed, Barry rushed the Dominators as they attempted to jump him. In flashes of orange lightning, he cut down several Dominators, taking out hundreds of them in a matter of seconds. As he did so, he had to dodge several beams of energy blasts from the Dominators' gauntlets. Remembering what he had learned from the martial arts book he'd studied. He struck the Dominators' nerves and joints as he punched his way through the wave of Dominators that came for him. He sped away as he turned and looked back as he saw all of the Dominators getting back up and coming for him.
"You gotta be shitting me." Barry sighed.
Suddenly, a wave of green light lit up the area around him as he squinted his eyes. Then, a large, 3D hand colored in green struck a majority of the Dominators as they were knocked out like bowling pins. Barry looked to the source and saw a man in a green suit with some black patches on the sides of his torso as well as a green domino mask on his face. The man landed beside Barry as he gave him a smirk.
"Pretty good at handling yourself there, hotshot," he then held his hand to him. "Green Lantern. At your service, amigo."
Barry gratefully shook his hand. "I'm-"
"The Flash," Green Lantern replied with a grin. "I know. Big fan honestly. You're popular in our sides of town too, you know."
Barry frowned. "Our?"
Just as he spoke, a golden trident flew between him and Hal as its three-pronged end landed on the ground, unleashing a sonic wave that sent several more Dominators flying. Mere seconds later, a man with long, dark blond hair in a dark golden suit leapt and retrieved it as he set the trident on the ground with a clang, holding onto it.
"I would've just flooded the whole city," the man said. "But with the civilians and casualties, the damage would be too great. An honor to meet you, Flash."
Green Lantern nodded towards the man. "That's Arthur. He goes by Aquaman."
"Appreciate the help, fellas…" Barry said.
Just as two more Dominators tried to approach the trio, a dark-haired, lean woman in armor sped through in a blur as she cut through the two of them with her sword before sheathing it. She then turned and approached the trio of men.
"That would be Diana," Arthur said, patting Barry's shoulder. "Code name: Wonder Woman."
"What inspired that again?" Green Lantern asked.
"Nothing I know." Arthur replied.
"They've landed in Central City I see…" Diana said as she turned to Barry and held her hand out to him. "Pleasure to meet you, Flash. I've seen the work you've done. You've done a good job for this city."
Barry shook her hand. "Thank you for help, Diana."
Diana nodded and turned to Green Lantern and Arthur. "Batman's reported multiple other dropships like this all across the globe. There's another in the United States."
"STAR City," Arthur replied. "We heard."
"Wait…" Barry said. "Batman? As in…The Dark Knight? From Gotham?"
"Yeah…" Green Lantern replied awkwardly. "He's uh…he's standing right behind you."
Barry whirled around as he saw a six-foot-one-inch tall figure wearing a suit that was a mix of sleek material and armor, both of which were black in color to blend in with the night. He had a black cape and a metallic bat symbol of a darker black color framed on his chest. His cowl had bat-shaped ears at the top and left the bottom half of his face exposed, his jawline chiseled.
"Flash," Batman said in his modulated, masked voice as he shook Barry's hand. "The league and I have been observing you for some time now. You've done tight, efficient work. We could use your help."
"And I could use yours," Barry sighed in a mix of surprise and relief. "Wasn't sure you were real."
"That's the idea," Green Lantern hummed.
"We see you have a base at STAR Labs," Batman said. "Mind if we join you?"
"How did you-" Barry began before he shook his head. "Never mind. Yeah, come along. I can run you guys there."
"I'll drive." Batman said as he turned and walked away.
Seconds later, a tank-like vehicle with black, sleek armor drove in as Batman jumped and landed in the driver's seat before it closed with a one-way glass top.
"The Batmobile is real too?" Barry said in shock.
"He's got a lot better than that," Diana noted. "No time to explain. We need to get to STAR Labs now. This is barely even the beginning of it all. You'll need to call in every able asset and ally you have."
"Yeah," Barry said in worry as he sighed, Batman driving off and heading to STAR Labs before the rest of them. "I know a few guys…just don't if it's going to be enough.
A/N: To anyone who wants to put faces to our guests, here is my casting (note: this is strictly for personal enjoyment and facial reasons, I'm not taking in acting ability into this):
Batman - Jensen Ackles
Green Lantern - Matthew McConaughey
Wonder Woman - Gal Gadot

As I said earlier, this is part 1 of the actual second chapter itself. Part 2 will cover the gang banding together, Grodd invading Central City, and more battles with the Dominators. Brainiac will directly be active against the main characters later and I'll cover whatever Dark Multiverse lore is canon to my series later as well.
