Just wanted to play with my favorite tropes, but it kept growing.

Half-Force beings can't die, not even from mortal injuries. Instead, they just develop an unexplainable connection to the person who killed them, that lets the other control them. Anakin didn't mean to find that out by accident when he fights Windu during Operation Knightfall. He always felt like the Jedi's slave. He just didn't expect it to become literal.
