CHAPTER ELEVEN: ONE FOR ALL

Normally, Katsuo would leave All Might with Midoriya's strength training, but today was different. Midoriya had texted Katsuo the previous night about how he had a surprise for him. This was vastly different from Midoriya's usual actions. He had been warming up to Katsuo, slowly but surely being more of himself around the purple eyed boy, but it was a slow process. Now all of a sudden, Midoriya was trying to show him something? Katsuo figured it must be pretty big, so he set out at 6:10 in the morning (dammit) to go visit Takoba Municipal Beach Park. The last time Katsuo was there, the place was a major dump, a literal landfill where people's trash just so happened to end up.

Well, thanks to Midoriya's training, that wasn't the case anymore. When Katsuo finally got to the edge of the parking lot and looked over the railing, he saw something truly wonderful. The beach, which had previously been a landfill, was now a beautiful yellow, basked by the light given off by the rising sun over the ocean. Katsuo hadn't gotten a clear view due to all of the trash everywhere, but now it was completely unobstructed. "Hey, Katsuo!" Katsuo looked down at the beach and saw Midoriya laughing and smiling while he waved his hands around, All Might standing next to him with his signature smile. Although, Katsuo thought he could see a bit of pride behind that smile.

"He even cleaned outside the area I had given him, young Midoriya is truly exceptional!" All Might's pride in his successor was even more evident as he patted Midoriya on the back, not realizing it was probably gonna leave a mark. It was only around a month into training, meaning there were still 10 months left before the UA entrance exam next February. With the beach clean and Midoriya at peak strength, it was time. "Midoriya, I think you're finally ready to inherit One For All and become the ninth successor." The two boy's excitement grew even larger as they turned to each other and high-fived. "So, how's Mido gonna inherit the power, All Might?" Katsuo asked.

All Might's smile never left his chiseled face as he plucked a hair out of his head and stuck it in front of Midoriya's face. While he was confused by this sudden turn of events, Katsuo figured it out rather quickly. 'Oh, god'. "Young Midoriya, you must swallow my DNA via this strand of hair!" Midoriya didn't look all too excited about that. In fact, Katsuo reckoned he felt the opposite about having to swallow a strand of hair. Midoriya spent five minutes trying to come up with a better way to inherit One For All, failing miserably as nothing was better than hair. "All Might, can't you just spit in his drink or something while he's not looking?" That plan wouldn't work anymore, as Midoriya heard Katsuo.

Finally, All Might got tired of waiting and just jammed One For All down Midoriya's throat. He coughed a little, but was mostly fine. "See, not so bad!" Katsuo laughed at the look of annoyance etched across Midoriya's face. "One For All will take until this time tomorrow morning to fully integrate into your system. For today, try to rest as much as possible. We'll test out One For All tomorrow." And just like that, the group disbanded. All Might went to go fight crime in Musutafu, Midoriya went home to study for his test, and Katsuo was set to meet with… Midnight.

A few days ago, Katsuo saved a group of people from rubble collapsing on top of them when a villain with a gigantification quirk crushed the overpass they were hiding under. Midnight, who previously told Katsuo he would be punished if he did something stupid again, caught him in the act, and told him to go to her apartment for a "special task". Needless to say, Katsuo was a bit scared about this. What was she gonna do to him? Midnight was a notoriously sadistic pervert, and a "special task" could only mean one thing in Katsuo's adolescent brain. Katsuo walked up the stairs of the apartment complex and soon found himself in front of the lion's den. When he went to go knock on the door: "Oh, you're here already."

Katsuo nearly jumped out of his skin. He whirled around, coming face to face with a beautiful woman. She had black hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. She was wearing a simple white T-shirt with form-fitting jeans. Even without the mask, Katsuo could tell it was Midnight, she just wasn't wearing her hero outfit. "Honestly, I wasn't sure if you were actually gonna come. But I'm glad you did, my place is a mess and I need someone to clean it up for me." Katsuo paused at what she just said. 'Cleaning?' Midnight must have seen the confusion on Katsuo's face. "What did you think I was gonna do to you? I can't break the law, I'm a hero." Midnight opened the door to her apartment and welcomed Katsuo into her home. It was… less than heroic.

The entire apartment was an unkempt mess. Trash bags were piled up in the kitchen, old plates and utensils littered the coffee table, etc. Katsuo even thought he saw a pet gerbil running around a pile of clothes in the living room. "Well, this is my place. I'll be taking a nap in my bedroom, you can just clean my place as punishment for your recklessness." At that, Midnight yawned and retreated into her bedroom, closing the door behind her. Katsuo once again looked across the hellscape he was likely going to be cleaning for the next few hours. God damn it. He started in the kitchen and worked his way outwards. Dirty dishes were thoroughly cleaned by hand before being placed into the dishwasher.

Dirty clothes were thrown in the washing machine, the gerbil being placed back in its cage and given some more food and water. There were a few stains on the couch, but Katsuo was able to get them out fairly easily. A few cobwebs here and there, a stain or two on the walls, dusty bookshelves, all things that could be cleaned up easily. And thus by the end of Midnight's nap, the apartment was back to its former glory. It was so different that Midnight questioned if she was in the right apartment. "Wow, thanks a lot, kid! You really did me a favor with this place!" Katsuo merely shrugged it off. "It was nothing. I made some food for you with what you had left in the fridge, see ya."

That was when the smell hit. Midnight's nose was assaulted with an amazing smell coming from the living room table. Looking over, she found a delicious looking home cooked meal, made from scraps in Midnight's nearly empty fridge. How did he make all of this? Midnight turned to thank Katsuo for the food, as well as the cleaning of her apartment, but he was already gone. A note on the table by the door said: Enjoy the meal! -Katsuo. She smiled, and then sat down on the couch and turned the TV on. The food was just as delicious as it smelt and looked, leading to Midnight feeling… something. 'When was the last time I had a home cooked meal like this?' A smile was brought to her face, and she enjoyed the meal thoroughly. 'What an interesting boy.'

Katsuo arrived at Takoba Beach early the next morning. Excitement over Midoriya's new power drove him to barely get any sleep, opting to study medical books all night, courtesy of the library. Even with almost no sleep, Katsuo still wasn't tired. An effect of the system perhaps? And then, It was time. All Might had Midoriya stand in front of the ocean in order not to break any buildings apart. "Okay, let her rip!" Midoriya got into a fighting stance that Katsuo taught him. He winded up, sparks of green electricity jumping all over his body as he did so. He threw a punch as hard as he could at the sea, creating a giant passage of air where the water used to be. The sheer force of his power blew the water away.

"OH YEAH! THAT WAS AWESOME MIDO!" All Might and Katsuo started clapping and cheering, but Midoriya was a lot less jovial about his accomplishment. "MOTHER FU-" The last part was drowned out by the sound of the water crashing back into place, but Midoriya's screams of pain weren't. All Might and Katsuo ran to his side, only to be taken aback by what they found. "Hey All Might, was Mido's arm always deep purple?" Midoriya's entire arm was bruised and swollen and probably hurt like hell too. It was obvious that Midoriya had broken his arm with that punch. "Damn, that's gotta suck." Katsuo poured a health potion in Midoriya's mouth, numbing the pain greatly. Unfortunately, his arm wasn't healed. This damn health potion is useless!

"My apologies, young Midoriya. It seems your body is still way too weak to handle the effects of One For All. I didn't think this could happen because One For All came so naturally to me…" All Might looked sad and guilty, clearly taking the blame for this fiasco. "You shouldn't feel bad, All Might. There's no way we could have known what would happen!" Midoriya was nodding his head in agreement, trying to fight through the pain as he did so. "This just means Mido isn't naturally gifted with One For All as you were. Which means… maybe he can try harnessing a small percentage of One For All?" The last part was just a mumble while talking to himself, but All Might thought Katsuo's idea was amazing. "That's it! We'll just train young Midoriya to take on a small part of One For All at a time!"

While All Might and Katsuo were celebrating Katsuo's genius idea, Midoriya was about to pass out from the lingering pain of his broken arm. Being reminded of his presence, Katsuo had All Might take him to Recovery Girl (who he learned about from Midoriya's notebook) to have him healed. While All Might took Midoriya to have him healed, Katsuo decided to stay back on the beach and watch the waves for a little while. The sun was still technically in "sun rise" mode, so he decided to take advantage of the calm. 'Yeah, this is really nice.' One final thought before Katsuo decided to get the day started. 'Think I'll go search for something to do again. Don't think I'll be going back to the scenarios for a while.'

Sorry for making this chapter so short, I just couldn't find any way for me to fit more into this chapter without it feeling weird. I've also been busy the last two days, which is why the chapter is late. You don't have to worry though, I should be back on track for now. Next chapter should be the last one before the timeskip, but things change and I might have to add more, who knows. Also, I've decided to rewrite a few chapters. I want to add an extra scene/ line of dialogue to chapter 1 to make it better, and I may change another scene but we'll see. Make sure to reread Chapter 1 once Chapter 12 releases, and I'll see you next time. Have a good rest of your day! (Also, I have an important question I'll ask at the beginning of next chapter)
