Hi, everyone! This one-shot was a request for a continuation of "A Different Happy Ending," where Alena and Gideon are dating, and Killian is in overprotective dad mode. I hope y'all enjoy!

P.S. This story turned into a multi-shot, and you guys will see the other part soon :)

Alena and Gideon were sitting on the swing on her parents' front porch. He had one arm wrapped around her waist and held her hand with the other.

She then commented, "I can't believe it's already been two years since the Black Fairy was defeated."

"And since you returned my heart," he added with a smile before he kissed her forehead.

Alena smiled back at him. She then offered, "I just thought you deserved a second chance."

"And I'll be forever grateful that you did," Gideon told her, letting go of her hand to run his fingers through her blonde hair.

Alena smiled at him once more before she began to chuckle, earning a curious look from her boyfriend.

"What's so funny?" he then asked.

She sobered and took a breath before she told him, "It's just that I never expected that we," motioning between the two of them, "would ever fall in love."

"Which I'm sure has nothing to do with the fact that our fathers were mortal enemies," Gideon offered with a grin. Alena shook her head and rolled her eyes before he continued, "You did return my heart so I could have a second chance with my parents, and I knew I'd never be able to do anything to truly thank you or repay you. But I didn't think it'd go further than gratitude."

"Neither did I - I just did the right thing," Alena added with a shrug.

She then smiled at him and spoke, "Until that Saturday where everyone decided to have breakfast at Granny's…"

"And the only available seat was next to you at the counter," Gideon then interjected, offering her a sweet smile.

Alena happily hummed in response. She then supplied, "And we got to talking, where we realized that we had quite a bit in common with figuring out this world and making up for lost time with our parents."

Gideon kissed her forehead once more before he finished, "And we also realized that we understand each other rather well. And our friendship turned to love."

Alena smiled lovingly at him as she told him, "And being with you has made me so incredibly happy."

Gideon ran his fingers back through her hair, stopping to caress her cheek. He then replied, "And you make me just as happy."

He paused before he continued, "Which is why I wanted to give you this," pulling a rectangular box from inside his jacket.

As he handed it to her, he explained, "It was meant to be for your birthday, but I wasn't quite finished with it."

Alena ran her fingers over the box as she told him, "We already celebrated our birthday - you didn't have to do this."

"I know, but I wanted to," he sincerely replied. He then said, "Open it, will you?"

Alena nodded before she opened the box, revealing a silver chain with a heart-shaped pendant.

"Oh, Gideon, it's beautiful," she admired, bringing the necklace closer to her face.

As she studied the jewelry, she observed, "This pendant - it's made of stone."

"That it is," Gideon confirmed before he elaborated, "It's the one we found walking along the beach a few months ago."

"Oh, yeah," Alena began with a smile before she reminisced, "You said it reminded you of my eyes. They're green, obviously, but when you look closely - when you really look at them - there are also tiny specks of blue and brown."

"Which is why I thought it'd be perfect as a necklace for you," Gideon stated, running his fingers over the heart-shaped stone. He took a breath before he continued, "I know a necklace isn't the most original of presents - least of all one with a heart pendant - but it's fitting for us."

With a nod, Alena enthusiastically agreed, "It's not just fitting, it's perfect." She then held the necklace out to him and asked him, "Will you put it on me?"

He nodded before he took the necklace from her. She then turned around as he unclasped the chain before he slid it around her neck.

When he clasped it, she turned back around to face him and told him, "Thank you, Gideon. I love it so much."

"You're welcome, Alena," he answered her with a smile, taking her hand back in his and entwining their fingers.

She smiled back at him in response. She then asked, "How'd you even make this?"

"My father had the tools in his shop, and I spent every free moment I wasn't helping him working on it," Gideon explained. He then chuckled lightly and added, "I think that Mother and Father were a bit worried that I wasn't getting enough sleep."

Alena hummed her response before she surmised, "So that's why you had those dark circles under your eyes. I was worried about you, too."

She then let out a slight chuckle of her own before she said, "And when you wouldn't tell me, I asked your parents. Gold gave a cryptic answer about you being at the shop while Belle would just smile and assure me that I had nothing to worry about."

Gideon smiled as he commented, "That sounds like them." He then grinned and continued, "But I'm glad they managed to keep it secret. Then it wouldn't have been much of a surprise, now would it?"

Alena couldn't help but shake her head before she nudged his shoulder with hers. She then sighed and conceded, "I guess it wouldn't have been."

A smile then graced her features as she added, "Which does make it even better," running her fingers through his brown hair.

Gideon smiled back at her before he reached up to caress her cheek.

He then leaned in, and Alena met him halfway for a kiss - only for their movement to cause the swing to dump them both onto the wooden porch.

"Well, that was romantic," Alena chided before she moved to a sitting position, rubbing her elbows.

She then looked over at her boyfriend and asked, "Are you alright, Gideon?"

He nodded before he elaborated, "Yeah, I'm fine," rubbing at his own elbow. He then looked up at her and spoke, "I just hate that our moment got interrupted."

"Maybe not," Alena told him with a smile. She then leaned in, and he smiled before he closed the distance between them.

The two of them then shared a sweet and tender kiss, with Gideon threading his fingers through Alena's hair.

After a few moments, they pulled away and rested their foreheads against each other's, both of them smiling contently.

Alena then smiled as she spoke, "I love you, Gideon." "I love you, too," he replied, smiling as well.

The pair stayed like that for a few minutes, just savoring the moment.

With a light chuckle, Gideon then suggested, "We should probably get up unless we want your parents asking questions."

Alena rolled her eyes before she supplied, "And by parents, you mean my very overprotective dad who needs to realize that I'm an adult," rising to her feet with Gideon following her movement.

He ran his hands up and down her arms as he reassured her, "It's only because he loves you so much. He and your mother - he's only trying to protect you."

With a sigh, Alena then conceded, "I know he is, and I love him for it, but it can be a little much sometimes."

"I know," Gideon sympathetically told her before he planted a kiss on her forehead. He then offered, "My father is only slightly better - he wasn't exactly thrilled with us being together at first."

"Oh, I remember," Alena began, a hint of disdain in her tone. She then shook her head and continued, "But all of that is behind us now - I mean, that's what the celebration at Granny's tomorrow is all about - new beginnings."

"Which you are responsible for," Gideon reminded her with a smile. He tucked her hair behind her ear and continued, "It's because of you that Storybrooke and all its residents can finally have true peace."

"I did have help, you know," Alena pointed out with a grin. She became serious and continued, "I couldn't have done it without Ciana - and Dawn. I mean, I'm so grateful to have my parents back, but she helped me find out who I am."

She then placed her hand over his heart and finished, "And she taught me the spell that would get your heart back."

Alena then felt him put his hand over hers and squeeze it, and she couldn't help but smile. A sobering thought then entered her mind, and she apologized, "Oh, I'm so sorry - you weren't nearly as fortunate being raised by the Black Fairy."

"But the experience reminded me of who I am and who I wanted to be," Gideon reassured her, taking both of her hands in his and squeezing them.

He then took a breath and continued, "And now I have my parents and you," smiling down at her.

She smiled back at him in response. She then said, "Speaking of your parents, am I coming over to their house to meet you or are you coming over here so we can head to the diner?"

"I'll be picking you up," Gideon began. He then ran his hand through his hair and continued, "I hope you don't mind walking - I still prefer it to driving."

"I don't mind at all," Alena began with a smile before she admitted, "I prefer it, too, actually," giggling slightly.

Gideon let out a chuckle of his own before he became reflective and commented, "I have to say that I'm a bit surprised that Storybrooke has stayed at peace for this long, given its history."

With a hum, Alena then surmised, "Well, all good stories - especially those built from real life - do have to come to an end. And after all the villains, curses, and chaos, I do think everyone was due for some peace."

Gideon looked thoughtful at her words before he conceded, "I suppose I can't argue with that. Everyone deserves a happy ending."

"That they do," Alena agreed, smiling at him once more before she wrapped her arms around his waist.

She couldn't help but giggle as she added, "We really sound like Grandma and Belle right now. With all the hope…"

"And always seeing the best in people," Gideon interjected, resting his forehead against hers.

A contented smile made its way onto Alena's face as she melded further into her boyfriend's arms. They stayed like that for a few moments before Alena pulled away.

She looked up at him before she spoke, "And if tomorrow is anything like last year, there will be plenty of hope speeches to go around," a fond smile gracing her features.

Gideon returned the smile before he told her, "Well, this peace does give us a lot to be hopeful about."

Alena hummed once more before she supplied, "Even if it is a little less exciting."

Gideon shook his head before he surmised, "I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, given your tendency to make everything an adventure, even if it's not always wise," raising an eyebrow at her.

With a shrug, Alena replied, "What can I say? I am my father's daughter."

"Ah, yes - remind me to never make you angry," Gideon teased with a grin.

Alena rolled her eyes and shook her head before she playfully punched him in the arm. She then deadpanned, "Very funny, Gideon."

He only chuckled before he placed a kiss on her forehead.

The two of them then turned their heads at the sound of car doors shutting. They then saw Emma and Killian walking toward the porch.

Alena released her grip around Gideon - though she still kept one arm around his waist - before she smiled and greeted her parents: "Hey, guys, how was sailing?"

Emma smiled back at her daughter as she answered, "As always, we had a lot of fun. Your brother's getting really good at sailing."

"Maybe next time, love, you can come with us - if you're not too busy," Killian suggested, crossing his arms over his chest and casting a distrustful look toward Gideon.

Emma elbowed him before she offered, "It's just that we know how much you love sailing, too, kid."

"I really do, and I promise I'll go next time," Alena replied with a smile. She then chuckled and continued, "Besides, I'm pretty sure that I'll feel like I'm there with the way Henry talks about it."

She then furrowed her eyebrows when she realized that her brother was absent. She then asked, "Where is he?"

"He's with Regina and Robin. Said something about Roland wanting to see his big brother," Emma explained, placing her hands in the pockets of her jeans.

Alena smiled at that before she spoke, "Well, I'm sure they'll all have a great time."

Gideon and Emma - and even Killian - smiled at that before Gideon announced, "I really should be getting home. I will see you all tomorrow for the celebration."

He then looked at Alena and added, "I'll be here around 10 to pick you up."

Before she could respond, Killian interjected, "And just what makes you think you'll be accompanying my daughter to Granny's?"

"Killian," Emma stated, her tone a combination of warning and soothing - just as Alena shot her boyfriend an apologetic look.

She then turned her attention to her father and spoke, "We've been over this, Dad. Many, many times. He's my boyfriend whether you like it or not."

With his jaw clenched, Killian's blue eyes only rested on Gideon. The latter saw it as an opportunity to take his leave.

He took a deep breath before he spoke, "As I said, I will see you all tomorrow." He then squeezed Alena's hand and kissed her forehead before walked off the porch and started heading home.

With her hands planted on her hips, Alena turned to her father and complained, "Dad, why do you always do this? Why can't you just accept that Gideon and I are together?"

Killian's jaw remained clenched as he answered, "You know bloody well why." Emma then reached over and squeezed his hand, and he took a calming breath.

He then continued, "I just don't understand why you had to pick him."

Alena took a breath of her own before she told him, "Because he understands me - we understand each other. It's not like I expected to fall in love with him - it just happened, okay? Surely you can understand that."

Killian only looked at his daughter for a few moments before he tried to reason: "Of course I can, love. But it's not as if it's the same thing."

She ran her fingers through her hair before she conceded, "No, I guess it's not exactly the same." She paused before she continued, "But you still got a second chance - how is that any different from Gideon?"

"Because he hurt your mother," Killian pointed out, desperately trying to keep his temper under control.

Alena only sighed as she buried her face in her hands. She had grown so tired of this conversation - she had to make him see reason.

She then looked up and admitted, "Yeah, he did, and there's not a day that goes by that he doesn't regret it. You have no idea how long it took him to forgive himself - let alone have Mom and everyone else forgive him. He didn't even believe he deserved it."

"And I suppose you think that it should all just be forgotten," Killian challenged, his tone growing angry and annoyed.

Alena gritted her teeth as she argued, "Are you still defined by your past, Dad? After everything you did in the name of revenge?"

"Believe me, I am aware of all my mistakes," Killian stated, his blue eyes turning stormy.

"Yet, here you are living out your happy ending," Alena frustratingly told him, gesturing between he and Emma.

She paused for only a moment before she continued, "How can you stand there and say that Gideon doesn't deserve that same chance to be happy?"

"Because he took away my happy ending when he ran a bloody sword through Emma!" Killian yelled, clutching Emma's hand so hard that she had to let go.

"Mom sacrificed herself for everyone! Or did you forget?"

"She wouldn't have had to do that if it hadn't been for Gideon!"

Alena balled her fists at her side as she yelled, "Damn it, Dad, it wasn't his fault! He didn't have his heart! You know better than anyone what that feels like!"

"Yes, when the bloody Crocodile ripped my heart from my chest and made me his bloody pawn. I remember quite vividly," Killian seethed, his knuckles turning white.

"And what about the rest of the time?" Alena shot back before she elaborated, "For 200 bloody years, you were willing to do whatever it took to find a way to kill Rumplestiltskin, with no thought for anyone but yourself! And where was your heart? Oh, that's right - sitting inside your chest! Don't you dare attack Gideon for something in which he didn't have a choice when you spend a bloody lifetime making the wrong ones!"

She then turned on her heel and stormed off, slamming the door behind her.

Killian sighed and ran his hand over his face as he begrudged, "That went bloody fantastic, didn't it?"

"It could have gone better," Emma conceded, wrapping her arms around her husband's waist. She then took a breath and told him, "But she is right, Killian."

He sighed once more as he pointed out, "You're not helping, Swan."

"Look, I know you don't want to hear it, but Alena is an adult who can make her own choices, and she chose Gideon. You have to find a way to be okay with that."

"But it's because of him that I thought I had lost you," Killian told her, his voice thick with emotion.

Emma caressed his cheek as she empathized, "I know, Killian. I know."

She then took another breath and spoke, "But I'm here, and we have our happy ending thanks to our daughter."

"She wouldn't have needed to save you if it hadn't been for…" Killian contemptuously began, only to be cut off by his wife.

"The Black Fairy. Everything was her idea - and when Gideon tried to stand up to her, she took his heart. None of what happened is his fault."

Killian let out a frustrated groan as he ran his fingers through his dark hair. He then posed, "What the bloody hell do you want me to say, Swan? That you're right? That Alena's right? That I should be happy about her and Gideon?"

Emma caressed his cheek once more as she told him, "You do have to stop being so overprotective. I think you may even be worse than my dad."

He only raised an eyebrow at that, so she continued, "I know you want to protect her. And I get that because I want to protect her, too - but we can't stop her from living her life and finding her own true love."

With an incredulous look, Killian asked, "You really think that they share true love, Swan?"

With a shrug, Emma began, "I mean, I really think it could be - they look at each other the same way you and I still do," a smile gracing her features. She paused before she continued, "But they both deserve a chance to see and to know without you always fighting them about it."

Killian scratched behind his ear as he slowly admitted, "I suppose you make a fair point, love."

Emma gave him a small smile before she offered, "I get that it isn't easy for you, and I understand why, but you have to learn to let go. You can't keep living in the past, and you have to learn to accept Alena's choice. She loves him, Killian."

"I know she does," he conceded, but his words barely rose above a whisper. He sighed before he told her, "And you are right - I do have to learn to accept it because the lass won't be changing her mind any time soon."

"See, was that so hard?" Emma began, a teasing lilt to her voice. Killian shook his head before she took a breath and seriously continued, "I think there's someone else you should tell that to."

"Aye, love," he agreed. He then raked his fingers through his hair and spoke, "But I don't know what I'm supposed to say. This doesn't mean I'm just suddenly okay with Gideon, Swan."

"And you don't have to pretend you are," Emma reassured him, placing her hands on his chest. She paused before she continued, "My parents had trouble accepting you at first, too, but they knew how I felt about you, and they could see that you made me happy."

A thoughtful look appeared on Killian's face for a few minutes as he mulled over his wife's words. He then took a long and slow breath before he surmised, "Well, then, I suppose that if your parents could give me a chance after everything I've done, I owe Gideon the same. Especially since…" pausing to take another calming breath, "it wasn't all his fault."

Emma smiled at him before she kissed him sweetly, running her hand along his jaw.

When they pulled away, she brought her eyes back up to his and told him, "I'm proud of you, Killian," earning a small smile from her pirate.

He then told her, "I will go talk to our daughter, and you can order us something from Granny's for dinner."

Emma bobbed her head before the two of them headed in the house. The blonde deposited herself on the couch and pulled out her phone while Killian shuffled up the stairs.

He walked to his daughter's bedroom door. He took a deep breath before he called out, "Love, we need to talk."

Killian heard Alena sigh before she spoke, "Okay, Dad."

He then walked inside and sat down on the foot of the bed, where she then commented, "If I had known you were gonna be this overprotective about Gideon, I would have gotten my own place," her arms crossed over her chest.

Killian sighed as he surmised, "I deserve that. And maybe more actually."

Alena then brought her green eyes up to his as she told him, "I'm glad you can finally admit it."

She then took a deep breath and continued, "I really do get why this is hard for you, Dad, but Gideon is such a great guy, and he makes me so happy."

Killian looked at his daughter for a few moments before he asked her, "He really does, doesn't he?"

With a nod, Alena then told him, "He really does. More than I even thought was possible for me - for both of us."

With a sigh, Killian told her, "I really do want you to be happy, Alena. I just didn't think part of that happiness would come from Gideon."

"I know," she sympathized. She then posed, "But isn't the fact that I found happiness with someone enough to make you at least try to change your mind?"

"I want to, love," Killian began. He then took on a bemused expression before he told her, "At the risk of inciting your temper…"

"The one I got from you," Alena interjected, and she couldn't help the chuckle that followed.

Killian chuckled as well before he offered, "Touché, love." He paused before he continued, "Are you truly certain about Gideon? That you can see a real future with him?"

He took a deep breath before he finished, "I just have to know if you're happy - and that you have no doubts."

Alena couldn't help but smile at her father. As annoyed as she became at his overprotectiveness, she knew that he only wanted what would be best for her.

She then took on a thoughtful expression as she considered how to answer him.

She smiled once more as she told him, "I know that love isn't easy, and Gideon and I have had quite a bit to work through - some of it due to my stubbornness and temper. Like the time I borrowed Mom's car for a few errands when you guys were at work. When it broke down, I became extremely irritated and almost caught the car on fire - and Gideon, who was only trying to help me - got a scratch on his head after getting caught in the crossfire."

She couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle at the memory - mainly because it seemed fitting that it would happen to her.

She took a breath before she continued, "And then there were those times he'd call me in the middle of the night when he used to have those nightmares, and I'd do what I could to soothe him back to sleep.

"That's what we do, Dad - we're there for each other for all the ups and downs, in all the good and bad. He is so incredibly patient with me, and I help him be the best version of himself. And I know that it's always gonna be that way, no matter what we face in the future. In the midst of a friendship that came from gratitude, we found love. And we don't intend to take it for granted."

Killian looked at his daughter as he considered her words. Though part of him still wanted to fight it, he couldn't ignore the unshed joyous tears in her eyes. He couldn't ignore the happiness in her voice, and he couldn't ignore the way her whole face lit up.

And he knew he'd have to let her go.

So, he took a deep breath before he told her, "I can see that he does make you happy, and the love you two share is real. I'm not gonna get in the way of that, but I just need a little time."

In response, Alena wrapped him in a hug. When they pulled away, Killian offered his daughter a puzzled expression.

"I doubt that's the answer you truly wanted, love."

"It's okay, Dad. I get it," Alena began. She paused to take a breath before she continued, "Despite the fact that you and Rumple buried the hatchet, I know there's a long, complicated, and not-so-pleasant history. And even though he didn't have his heart, Gideon still took Mom away from you. I never expected you guys to just welcome him with open arms, but I do believe he deserves a chance. Which is what you're giving him."

Killian smiled ruefully at her as he offered, "Even though I should have done it a year and a half ago?"

With a sigh, Alena admitted, "I know you only want what's best for me, even if you do take it a little far sometimes. Frankly, I'm just glad you never threatened his life."

The dark-haired man couldn't help but let out a chuckle at that before he spoke, "You have your mother to thank for that. She's been the voice of reason through all of this."

Alena smiled at him as she replied, "Well, I don't think it was all Mom."

Killian smiled back at her as he began, "Perhaps not," pausing before he continued, "But I still wouldn't be the man I am today without her."

He then took a deep breath and added, "Just like Gideon wouldn't have had the chance to find out who he truly is had you not returned his heart."

Alena pushed a piece of blonde hair behind her ear before she deflected, "I'm sure that Gold would have found a way."

"Ever the modest one," Killian teased with a grin. He then sincerely continued, "I'm sure he would have, but you are the one who succeeded. And as I recall, it was your idea to return his heart in the first place."

With a shrug, Alena pointed out, "It was the right thing to do." She paused before she continued, "No one deserves to be treated like that," a fire behind her words.

She then took a calming breath before Killian offered, "Aye, love. He's very fortunate to have found you."

Alena smiled as she replied, "We're lucky to have found each other."

She then paused before she curiously asked, "You're really gonna try to give him a chance, aren't you?" pulling her knees up to her chest.

"Aye, love. For you, I will," Killian assured her with a smile. She smiled back in response.

Emma then walked up and leaned against the door frame. She then asked, "You two okay?"

"Yeah, Mom, we're fine," Alena answered, smiling once more. Emma offered a smile as well before she said, "Good."

She then told them, "So, our food should be ready by now, so I'm gonna go pick it up."

"Oh, let me, Mom. I don't mind," Alena said, rising to her feet. "Alright, kid. Thanks," Emma replied, receiving a nod from her daughter.

As she began walking toward the door, Killian teasingly spoke, "Just don't set your mother's car on fire this time."

Alena rolled her eyes before she slipped on her shoes and began heading downstairs.

When Killian rose to his feet, Emma closed the distance between them and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"So, I'm guessing that things will be a little less, uh, hostile with you and Gideon?"

Killian couldn't help but chuckle before he began, "Aye, love. I suppose I can put the hook away," earning a head shake from his wife.

He then took a breath and continued, "I'm not sure how you did it, Swan."

Emma tilted her head and looked curiously at him as she asked, "Did what, exactly?"

"Put up with all my bolstering, which wasn't entirely all hot air," Killian told her, moving her hair off her shoulder.

She offered him a small smile as she told him, "Well, your heart was in the right place."

Killian hummed in response. He then rested his forehead against hers and began running his hand and hook along her back.

Emma ran one of her hands along his jaw and the back of his head before she perceived, "What's wrong, Killian?"

With a deep breath, he admitted, "It's times like these that I become rather reflective." He paused before he elaborated, "You didn't have a normal pregnancy, Swan, and we then had to give Alena away to protect her. Hell broke loose soon after, and I thought I had lost you," pausing as his voice slightly cracked.

He took another deep breath before he finished, "But then our 28-year-old daughter saved you - it's quite a lot to take in."

"I know," Emma empathized. She then took a deep breath and commented, "Now I know how my parents must have felt."

She then smiled and told him, "But we managed to make it work, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. And I know Alena feels the same way. We just have to, you know, learn to appreciate what we have with her."

Killian couldn't help but grin at her as he spoke, "You know, Swan, the longer I know you, the more you start sounding like your parents. And your boy."

Emma rolled her eyes before she swatted him in the arm. She took a breath before she continued, "Look, Killian, I know that it's been a bit of a learning curve for all of us. Or maybe more than a bit. And I know we missed so much with Alena, but she came back to us. And she's not going anywhere."

With a sigh, he raked his hand through his dark hair and pointed out, "She might not be leaving Storybrooke, but it's only a matter of time before she's building her own life away from this house."

A sympathetic expression crossed over Emma's features before she squeezed his hand. She then surmised, "So this isn't just about what we've already missed or even what else we could miss. It's about losing her all over again."

"You always were a perceptive lass," Killian commented before he took a breath and continued, "You know I love our daughter more than anything, and I wouldn't wish for our lives to be any other way. But we did miss so much, and I just don't think I can miss anymore. I think perhaps it's the reason I've been so overprotective - at least part of it."

Emma then rested her head on his chest, and they stood for a few minutes in comfortable silence, with her holding his hand tightly while he ran his hook up and down her back.

She then looked up at him and took his face in both her hands. She then told him, "I know it's hard on you, Killian, but you have to remember that we wanted Alena to have her best chance. And she did - and then she found us and saved me. The three of us are a family.

"And you're right - she will start building something of her own soon. And it'll likely be with Gideon - and we have to let her be happy."

Killian took a long, slow breath as he thought over his wife's words. He knew they were the truth, but accepting them as reality would be a little more than difficult.

He then spoke, "I truly am trying, love. Because we are a family, and I do want Alena to be happy."

Emma offered him a genuine smile before she pulled him in for a sweet kiss, one he happily returned as he threaded his fingers through her blonde hair.

Just as they pulled away, they heard Alena call out: "Mom! Dad! I'm back from Granny's!"

Emma then took her husband's hand in hers and began leading him toward the stairs. She then spoke, "Come on, I'm dying for a grilled cheese."

Killian couldn't help but smile and shake his head as they continued toward the stairs and down to the kitchen.
